The pilgrim sub is excellent. Large enough to share, fresh turkey, tasty stuffing and savory cole slaw with cranberry mayo. The bread is delicious, the accompanying pickle nice and crunchy. I loved everything about this sandwich! Everyone who works here is hustling and friendly. When we ordered our sandwich we let them know 2 of us were sharing. It arrived on 2 plates, split, including the pickle. After we had a few bites, our sandwich maker checked on us to make sure it was to our liking. It is a compact space inside. You order and pay as soon as you walk in. On the side is a bar type set up where you can eat inside. They bring your order to you when it is ready. There is also outdoor seating. I saw quite a lot of to go orders being made as well.

We popped into this artisanal sandwich shop while in Naples. The owners, Frank and Lizzy, were there and very personable and friendly. They chatted with us about the neighborhood, their experiences and their sandwiches. The sandwich was amazing! Best bread I have ever had. Super fresh ingredients. One 9 inch sub was perfect for both of us. They were celebrating their 3rd anniversary by giving away free champagne or lemonade. Very cute spot, excellent food, great service

This place is a must try next time you're in Naples. The workers suggested my husband and I try the "Naples Italian" sub. The sandwich was a flavor bomb that exploded into our mouths. The flawless assembly of the sandwich allowed us to take a bite without any topping falling out. The restaurant is very small but they have a small patio outside to sit and eat your sandwich. We will definitely be back next time we're in town!

This is the best sandwich shop in Naples, if not all of SWFL (and beyond), hands down. They are the best sandwiches I have ever had and I am a foodie from the NY/tri-state area originally, FWIW. I think about their sandwiches and/or pay them a visit at least once a week. I only order from Jersey Mike's or Jason's Deli out of convenience but when I do, I am full but ultimately disappointed I didn't have Yacht Club Subs. I readily make the 20-25 min drive from my house just to get their sandwiches. Their bread is phenomenal and fresh. The sandwich composition is a masterpiece because no matter the amount of toppings, the sandwich never falls apart nor do you find yourself pulling things out etc. Frankie & Lizzie are also incredibly personable which just makes the experience even better. I tell everyone I know about this place because I love it so much! Wow! ... We were "Welcomed Aboard" and had the best sub experience of our life. The bread is perfect, fresh produce, high quality meats and built with perfection with friendly service and refreshing Chardonnay and wide assortment of beverages. Yacht Club's New Summer Menu Now Available

The Yacht Club has captured the essence of summer with new lunch, dinner and drinks menus that showcase the best flavors of the season.

The new menus feature a variety of soups, appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees, including gluten-free and vegan items. They include new offerings as well as fan favorites such as fish and chips, jumbo soft pretzel with crab dip, the Cowboy burger, Crab Cobb salad and the Yacht Club Club sandwich.

New menu items include:

Fried Calamari - Flash-fried with yellow peppers, parmesan cheese and garlic aioli

Buffalo Brussels - Flash-fried with red onion, blue cheese crumbles, and tossed in a house-made Buffalo sauce

Crispy Pork Belly - Sweet and spicy crispy pork belly over a pineapple and broccoli slaw

Mussels - French-style in a garlic, shallot and Dijon white wine broth with parsley and baguettes

Largest single-mast ship visits Southwest Harbor

SOUTHWEST HARBOR, Maine — A giant sailboat hasn’t been turning heads in Southwest Harbor this week — not exactly. It’s more like it’s raising those heads and chins and gazes as people look to the skies to locate the top of the largest single-masted sailing yacht in the world.

The M5 has been docked in Southwest Harbor since last week.

One Southwest Harbor resident said that the 89-meter mast can be seen over the trees at the town’s Causeway Club. That mast length is roughly the size of a football field. The boat itself is 78 meters long.

According to SuperYachtFan , “The superyacht  is the brainchild of Irish-based, New Zealand-born yacht designer, Ron Holland, a respected name in the industry. The intricate composite construction of the hull and rig was closely monitored and supervised by High Modulus Europe Ltd, a renowned Hamble-based firm.”

Yachtsinternational.com  says that M5’s giant mast holds a 36,000-square-foot sail.

According to MarineTraffic , she had last been in Providence, Rhode Island. She arrived in Southwest Harbor on July 16.

The yacht is currently owned by Rodney Ray Lewis, who founded Texas-based Lewis Energy Group . Lewis is a renowned pilot. He was a gauger in the late 1970s, purchased an oil well in 1982 for $13,000, and founded the company, which has operations in Texas, Mexico and Colombia. He purchased his first plane a year before the well — a hand-cranked Aeronca Chief. He’s also known as having what Forbes  calls “one of the top vintage warbird collections in the country.”

There is often a plane resting on the back of the yacht. This is also the case in Southwest Harbor. Lewis’ father was a pilot in the Air Force.
