disney world yacht club resort club level

Are you considering staying in a Club Level room during your Disney World vacation? Or perhaps you’d just like to learn a little more about this concierge option available at select Disney World Resort hotels ?

disney world yacht club resort club level

Well, there may be more factors to consider than you realize to choose the Club Level that’s right for you. (And if you’re curious to learn whether Club Level itself is a good choice for your group to begin with, we dive into that topic here .) Today we’re chatting about which Resort has the BEST Club Level in Disney World. Are you ready?

We are, too! But first things first: let’s give a brief overview of Club Levels at Disney World hotels. Club Level (also called Concierge Club Level) is a room category that offers special perks and accommodations . For instance, Club Level guests have access to an exclusive lounge that offers light meals like continental breakfast, snacks throughout the day, and even evening desserts and cocktail hours. (Cheers!)

disney world yacht club resort club level

Additionally, Club Level guests receive special planning help prior to their visit through Disney Signature Services, as well as a separate dedicated Concierge Desk onsite to help during their stay. Concierge Cast Members are typically available from 7AM to 10PM each day (as well as the time leading up to your vacation). Cast Members can assist with park tickets, advance dining reservations, and many more recommendations that can help throughout your vacation.

So, those are the basics! Now let’s explore WHICH Resort Club Level option is the BEST… or simply the best for YOU! Let’s start by going down the list of options, and then we’ll cover a few factors to consider in your decision.

Disney World Resort Hotels with Club Levels

Atrium club level in disney’s contemporary resort (deluxe resort).

Disney’s Contemporary Resort is mere steps away from Magic Kingdom , and is one of three hotels on the Monorail Loop. The vibe is bright and modern, while guests will also enjoy classic Disney touches including a mural by legendary Disney artist Mary Blair, and recently refurbished guest rooms themed to The Incredibles .

disney world yacht club resort club level

The Contemporary offers Club Level Rooms on the 12th and 14th Floor of the Resort’s Tower, with the 14th floor housing Suites. The 12th floor Atrium Club Concierge and the 14th floor Tower Club Concierge offer the same guest services and food items.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Readers have provided reviews of the Contemporary Club Level which you can read here , but we’re shining a spotlight on a few quotes below:

“Because we were staying Club Level, we were able to walk down and watch the fireworks on the balcony at night and man were the views spectacular! Eating breakfast on the club level balcony while watching the ferry and monorail come and go, as well as admire Cinderella Castle can’t be beat. T he food provided was delicious and my family and I especially enjoyed the desserts provided during the fireworks.”

“The staff could not have been more wonderful and attentive… The snacks were not as nice as at some of the other club levels where we have stayed, but they were adequate.”

Kilimanjaro Club Level in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (Deluxe Resort)

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is nearest to Disney’s Animal Kingdom park . The most unique thing about this remarkable Resort is that there are over 200 animals that LIVE on the Savannas of the Lodge!

disney world yacht club resort club level

The Kilimanjaro Club Level is on the 6th floor of the Resort’s Jambo House, and while it is spacious and lovely, the Lounge itself does not offer a view of the Savanna (where the animals can be seen).

disney world yacht club resort club level

If you have dined at Boma or Jiko — The Cooking Place , you may be thrilled to know that the Lounge offers many bites like those you’d enjoy at those restaurants! A selection of South African wines is also available to try.

disney world yacht club resort club level

You can find reviews from AllEars readers for the Kilimanjaro Club Level Lounge here , and we’ve provided a few quotes below:

“It takes a bit of a walk to get to the top floor for refreshments and free food, even if you are close to the elevators on the lower levels.”

“The food offerings, except breakfast, shouldn’t be viewed as meal replacements but for a very light eater you can eat enough to not want a lunch or heavy dinner. The offerings in the evening tie into the theme of the resort and are a great way to try something you might not otherwise eat.”

“There were hot options at breakfast and cocktail hour. The staff were very helpful with providing food for our daughter with a food allergy. Everyone was very helpful in the lounge. I do wish the club level rooms were closer to the club area.”

King Kamehameha Club Level in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (Deluxe Resort)

The “Spirit of ALOHA” awaits at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort ! This South Island-inspired Resort is on the Magic Kingdom Monorail Loop and sits on the shores of Seven Seas Lagoon.

disney world yacht club resort club level

The Club level rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort are located in the Hawaii and Tonga buildings, and the private lounge is on the second floor of the Hawaii building.

disney world yacht club resort club level

A HUGE bonus to the lounge is that it offers fantastic views of Cinderella Castle and the Magic Kingdom fireworks (and the music for the fireworks is played on speakers inside the lounge during the show).

Here’s some of what AllEars readers had to share in their reviews of the Polynesian’s Club Level :

“Lots of different kinds of food at each meal time and the alcoholic beverages were plentiful! I recommend the punch!! We had breakfast each day and enjoyed at least one other treat time or drink time each day. We were able to take back to our room or eat in the very nice lounge.”

“Since they built the bungalows on the beach, the views from Hawaii bldg rooms have been severely impacted, such that now only the third floor rooms have a true theme park view…. during the Magic Kingdom fireworks, the CM’s make it extra magical for all in the lounge by turning down the lights in the room and piping in the music, so we can watch AND hear the show…and it’s wonderful.”

“The concierge was always helpful, whether I needed something picked up from a park or printing out my boarding passes. Food in the club was plentiful and always tasty.”

Old Faithful Club Level in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (Deluxe Resort)

The beauty of the Pacific Northwest and the legacy of great National Parks is celebrated at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge ! Though Wilderness Lodge is not a stop along the Monorail Loop, this Resort offers easy (and fun!) access to the Magic Kingdom by boat.

disney world yacht club resort club level

The Concierge rooms (all located on the seventh floor, along with the Club Level Lounge) offer a privacy balcony and the view will be either woods or courtyard.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Here are a few quotes from AllEars reader reviews :

“ The cast members at the club level are all top notch. Super helpful with answering any questions. Breakfast every day was great. Each day was a little different but there were always staples. The croissants were particularly great!”

“The lounge was welcoming with a stunning view of the lobby. The staff were extremely helpful and every time you passed a CM in the hallway, they smiled and said hello. We felt completely at home and very welcome indeed… The food was lovely, always plenty available with a fridge full of chilled drinks available too… The WL CL really know how to treat their guests, and it shows.”

Royal Palm Club Level in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort (Deluxe Resort)

Disney’s Grand Floridian is Disney World’s flagship Resort! Presenting a turn-of-the-century Victorian theme, the Grand Floridian is on the Monorail Loop… and the very next stop is the Magic Kingdom .

disney world yacht club resort club level

All of the Club Level room (and about half of the suites) are located on the third, fourth, and fifth floors of the main building. The Lounge is located on the fourth floor. Unless you are staying in one of the Club Level rooms, you cannot get to the third, fourth, or fifth floors of the main building. Access is by private elevator only. (The Sugar Loaf building also offers full club-level service.)

disney world yacht club resort club level

AllEars readers had the following to share in our collection of reviews for Club Level at the Grand Floridian :

“We loved the club level perk of the food and beverages. The staff was not as friendly as I was expecting, and the eating area was always crowded.”

“After many stays at The Boardwalk in Concierge level and the Wilderness Lodge Concierge level I expected a lot more from Grand Floridian.”

“The private lounge was beautiful and the food and drinks plentiful.”

Stone Harbor Club Level in Disney’s Beach Club Resort (Deluxe Resort)

Disney’s Beach Club is styled after the New England seaside at the turn of the century and the seashore theme is evident throughout this bright and airy Resort, which also boasts a pool complex that’s like its own mini water park! The Beach Club connects directly to its sister Resort, the Yacht Club. It’s also within walking distance to EPCOT !

disney world yacht club resort club level

Club Level room options are diverse, ranging from standard, garden, and water view rooms to the Newport Presidential Suite (and also including 1- and 2-bedroom suites.)

disney world yacht club resort club level

Allears readers have shared the following within this collection of Club Level reviews of Beach Club :

“It was awesome from beginning to end. The staff were outstanding and got to know us so much so when we came in from the parks, be it mid afternoon or evening, they brought us our favorite alcoholic beverages and kept bringing more. The evening offerings were enough to fill us up so we didn’t need to buy dinner.”

“the best part was the staff. Awesome helpful people. The food was always warm and restocked, staff members were constantly inquiring about how the food was and if you needed anything. They were also happy to chat and provide tips, or little known facts, or suggestions.”

Regatta Club Level in Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

Where the Beach Club celebrates life along the shore, its sister Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club , is a tribute to life ON the sea with its more nautical theming. As it connects directly to the Beach Club, the Yacht Club likewise boasts a walking path directly to EPCOT as well as easy access to the Disney Skyliner .

disney world yacht club resort club level

All Club Level rooms are located on the Yacht Club’s 5th floor.

Readers have several great things to say about the Regatta Club Level in our collection of reviews :

“We definitely took advantage of the breakfast more than any of the other options since we were at the parks most of the day. On one of the late afternoons we did stop back in and were able to try out the hors d’oeuvres consisting of crudites, various cheeses, sliced roast beef and turkey with dinner rolls, chicken fingers, mac and cheese, smoked salmon and a few others I don’t recall. You easily could have made a dinner out of what was there. Another night we came back in time to enjoy the desserts which included 2 to 3 assorted mini cupcakes, mini tarts, rice crispy treats, ice cream, fresh fruit, and cookies. Good thing we were doing a lot of walking on this trip! Overall, the lounge was busy but not overcrowded.”

“This stay really lead me and my husband to decided to continue staying club level going forward… Club Level was definitely worth it.”

Innkeeper’s Club Level in Disney’s Boardwalk Inn

We have one more option for you within walking distance to EPCOT : Disney’s BoardWalk Inn . The turn-of-the-century Coney Island-inspired BoardWalk offers Club Level guests access to the Innkeeper’s Club.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Club Level guests may choose from standard rooms or water or garden views, or opt for a 2-Bedroom Suite.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Take a peek at the following quotes from AllEars reader reviews of the Innkeeper’s Cub Level at the BoardWalk .

“As for the Innkeeper’s Lounge, the Continental Breakfast had a number of good offerings. The afternoon snacks were good. The dinner time appetizers and other offerings were a big disappointment… The seating in the Lounge was usually insufficient, which is another disappointment when spending so much money for club level.”

“It’s by no means cheap but replaces mini expensive restaurant meals. Fantastic [cast members]. Overall a terrific experience!”

Chronos Club Level in Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs Resort (Moderate Resort)

Do you see how “One of these things is not like the other?” (Sing along if you remember that one 😉 ). Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is the single Moderate Resort on the list of Resorts with a Club Level option.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Club Level options for Coronado Springs Resort arrived with the addition of Gran Destino Tower in 2019. In fact, Club Level access is exclusive to rooms in the Tower, which include Standard View rooms, Deluxe-, 1-Bedroom- and Presidential Suites.

disney world yacht club resort club level

You can take a photo tour of the stunning Gran Destino Tower here ; and it’s good to know that the nearest park to Coronado Springs is Animal Kingdom (and, therefore, a bit of a bus trek to the other parks).

Factors to Consider

Theme and style.

When it comes to choosing a Club Level, choosing your preferred theme or style is much like that of choosing your Resort! So, this one all boils down to preference.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Do you love the idea of the casual feel of the Beach Club? Does the idea of seeing animals on the daily at Animal Kingdom Lodge pique your interest?

Then simply follow where your instincts lead! If you are looking more into logistics, we have more factors to consider…

Proximity to Parks

If you know you’ll be spending a lot of your time in EPCOT, the Beach Club, Yacht Club, or BoardWalk Inn would be your best bets.

disney world yacht club resort club level

If you’re planning to tackle ALL. THE. RIDES. in Magic Kingdom, a Resort on the Monorail Loop might be best for you. We’ve mentioned closest park proximity in all of the individual Resort sections above to help you consider your options.

Ratings from Readers

You may feel a little more confident in your decision by checking out what others have to say about their experience.

disney world yacht club resort club level

With the exception of the newest Club Level option (at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort), you can click on any of the review links above to check out full reviews from fellow AllEars readers to find out their thoughts and experiences regarding the individual Resort Club Levels.

Be sure to consider if a specific view from your room is of importance to you.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Because Club Level Rooms are relegated to certain areas of the Resorts, you may want to factor that into your decision.

Ah, yes… ’tis a splurge to enjoy Club Level access. As we mentioned in a previous post , the price of staying Club Level ranges from an additional $100 a night to $275 a night depending on the resort. A good rule of thumb is that the more expensive the hotel and room category, the greater the added cost.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Specific pricing can be found on the Disney World website, in exactly the same way you would search for any room in a Disney World Resort hotel. (In fact, when perusing “Room Rates” on the Disney World website, Club Level rooms are clearly marked in the search, so you can conduct an easy cost comparison between both regular rooms and other Club Level options at various Resort hotels.

We hope this chat has helped in your Disney World vacation planning! And if you’ve ever experienced Club Level at Disney World, we’d love to hear about it with a comment!

Guide to Club Level or Concierge Lounges at Disney World

disney world yacht club resort club level

Is Club Level at Walt Disney World worth the money? This guide answers that, with reviews of the best concierge lounges in hotels, VIP services, pros & cons, and more. We also have an update on Club Level, and what the experience is like now. ( Updated December 28, 2023 .)

Without question, the biggest benefit of Club Level at Walt Disney World is the lounges. We used to have mixed thoughts on these, but have endeavored to stay at every Club Level resort as our recent experiences have been much more favorable. It seems Disney is stepping up its game to better compete with real world luxury hotels. Here are our Club Level Lounge reviews thus far–click each to see lounge & food photos, plus full commentary about each:

  • Atrium Club Level in Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Chronos Club Level in Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs Resort
  • Kilimanjaro Club Level in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • King Kamehameha Club Level in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Old Faithful Club Level in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
  • Stone Harbor Club Level in Disney’s Beach Club Resort

These Club Level Lounges each serve coffee, continental breakfast, light afternoon snacks, hors d’oeuvres at dinner time, and dessert & cordials late at night. In our opinion, the lounge is the main reason to book a Club Level resort stay at Walt Disney World, with the food quality and lounge atmosphere being the most important factors to consider. We cover these things in meticulous detail in each of our reviews.

In terms of basics, all Deluxe Resorts at Walt Disney World have at least one Club Level offering. Disney’s Contemporary Resort has 2, but they’re essentially (in our view) interchangeable. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort also used to have two, but that’s no longer the case. It remains to be seen whether that changes again in 2024 once the resort reimagining is finished. We suspect not.

Disney Villa Resorts, more colloquially known as Disney Vacation Club Resorts, do not have Club Levels. However, most Deluxe Villas are also Deluxe Resorts–examples of this would be the Boulder Ridge Villas or Copper Creek Villas (Deluxe Villas, as the names suggest) at Wilderness Lodge (Deluxe Resort). The only exceptions to this are Disney’s Riviera Resort, Saratoga Springs, and Old Key West.

Finally, none of the Value Resorts have Club Level; only one of the Moderate Resorts have a Club Level, Gran Destino Tower at Coronado Springs Resort. Because it’s at a Moderate Resort, Chronos Club at Gran Destino is the cheapest Club Level offering at Walt Disney World.

Confused yet? All you really need to know is that in addition to the above list of Club Levels, there’s also the following that we have not yet reviewed:

  • Innkeeper’s Club at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
  • Tower Club at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Royal Palm Club at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
  • Regatta Club at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

disney world yacht club resort club level

One of the first things to understand about Club Level at Walt Disney World is that it’s not the same as concierge or executive levels at upper echelon chained-brand hotels. If you’re accustomed to the treatment you receive at Park Hyatt, Conrad, Four Seasons, or other real-world luxury hotels that are comparably priced to Disney Deluxes, you’re in for disappointment.

Those brands are renowned for unparalleled attention to detail, guest service, anticipating needs, and going above and beyond to deliver a superlative stay. They’ll book difficult dining reservations, assist with planning, and help make the experience memorable and stress-free. There are myriad ways this is accomplished at real-world hotels, but the salient point is that if you’re expecting Four Seasons or Park Hyatt concierge quality from Disney… don’t .

You really need to use a third-party Authorized Disney Vacation Planner for that type of service and even then, it’s not the same since they’re third party intermediaries. Here’s the Authorized Disney Vacation Planner that we recommend!

disney world yacht club resort club level

For Club Level stays at Walt Disney World, you will  usually  receive an email from Concierge Resort Cast Members prior to your trip to introduce themselves and assist with an itinerary. Whether you actually receive this correspondence is hit or miss, and it’s often sent out after dining and other reservation windows have already opened–and the most coveted options are booked up.

If you want or need this type of concierge planning assistance, relying upon the Concierge Resort Cast Members at Walt Disney World would not be our recommended course of action. At best, they’re going to spend a couple of hours providing boilerplate advice and perhaps reserve you whatever’s readily available in terms of ADRs at their convenience. They can also help a bit upon arrival at the in-person desk, but by then, it’s usually too late. (These Cast Members do not  have priority access to dining reservations or anything else.)

In short, Club Level is not about superlative service or planning prowess at Walt Disney World. To be sure, there are great, long-tenured Cast Members working at the Club Level Lounges. We’ve generally found them to be personable; if you’re looking for friendly faces to greet you in the Club Level Lounges, they are perfect.

disney world yacht club resort club level

The lounges are really where Club Level shines at Walt Disney World, and are the primary selling point of booking Club Level. You’ll get the most bang for your buck out of the stay if you make a point of eating multiple meals per day in the lounge. Most people will take advantage of continental breakfast, but not lunch, dinner, or late night desserts.

Breakfast is almost exclusively cold items, plus oatmeal and maybe one other hot dish. If you’re lucky, you’ll find some nice meats and cheeses that can be made into a sandwich for something substantive. Maybe an exclusive/unique item or two. It’s enough to fill you up and get you through until lunch, but it’s not exactly a luxurious spread.

The light afternoon snacks are exactly that–usually chips, hummus and pita, a variety of vegetables, and various other random things. This definitely should not be considered lunch, as there’s almost no way to make a meal of this service at any of the Club Level Lounges at Walt Disney World.

disney world yacht club resort club level

As a general rule, the evening hors d’oeuvres are the best offering, with numerous small plate dishes that are typically prepared by chefs from Signature Restaurants (Disney’s term for fine dining) located at the resort. These tend to be very good to great, and despite being ‘small plates’ and Disney deliberately avoiding the term dinner to describe this service, you could easily make a meal of them.

The quality of this service varies from resort to resort, but across the board, we think it has improved in the last couple of years. In fact, elevated hors d’oeuvres quality is one of the big reasons we’ve started revisiting all of the Club Level Lounges. If you can take advantage of breakfast (which should be a given) and dinner plus dessert service most nights of your stay, Club Level can be much easier to justify from a value for money perspective.

In addition to access to the Club Lounge, guests staying at each Club Level have access to the Concierge Resort Cast Members between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. These Cast Members are found at desks outside of the lounge or nearby, and can assist with tickets, dining, recreation, transportation, child care, and daily itinerary planning.

These Cast Members cannot get you into restaurants that are fully booked, or score Lightning Lane access for attractions that have run out of their daily allotment. However, if you call or text a Concierge Resort Cast Member while you’re in the parks and ask for help booking an ADR, they might just be able to work some magic. (No promises on that.)

disney world yacht club resort club level

When it comes to what Signature Services does not do, Walt Disney World no longer offers enhanced VIP services for Club Level guests for $50 per person per day. With paid Genie+ replacing free FastPass, it is no longer possible to buy 3 extra FastPass+ entitlements when staying Club Level.

At present, there is no comparable service offered for Genie+ or Lightning Lanes when staying Club Level. That could change, but we’re skeptical given the fundamental differences between FastPass and Genie. In any case, everything you need to know, including ride priorities, strategy for avoiding pitfalls, maximizing your time saved & ride count, and much more is covered in our Guide to Genie+ and Lightning Lanes at Walt Disney World .

We  do  expect this to change sometime soon, as advance-booking is coming for Lightning Lanes in Spring 2024. Our guess is that Club Level guests won’t immediately have access to purchase extra Lightning Lane selections, but we’d still expect that to happen at some point in 2024. We’ll keep you posted.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Objectively, the cost of staying Club Level ranges from around +$120/night to +$375/night depending on the resort, room tier, and season. For a general rule, the more expensive the hotel and room category, the greater the added cost. However, this isn’t always true.

For instance, adding Club Level at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa would “only” be an additional $228 on New Year’s Eve. That’s Walt Disney World’s most expensive hotel on its most expensive night of the year. The surcharge for Wilderness Lodge on that same night would be $274.

This is further complicated by discounts, which can change the gap depending upon what’s excluded, available, and so forth. You rely shouldn’t rely on a resource for this to determine the price difference. You’ll see for yourself when you actually price out a room for your travel dates and can see the Club Level cost versus that of other available rooms.

disney world yacht club resort club level

With that said, the premium for staying in Chronos Club at Gran Destino is always the lowest. It can be less than $100 extra for many nights after discounts. Again, this is because Chronos Club is at a Moderate Resort, so the baseline price is lower to begin with.

Despite this, we view Chronos Club as one of the best Club Levels in all of Walt Disney World. Like Gran Destino Tower as a whole, it punches far above its weight, and offers tremendous bang for buck. In fact, if your only consideration is value for money, you can stop right here: Chronos Club is the clear winner, and the competition isn’t even close.

Assuming you cram 4 adults in the Club Level room–because nothing says posh hotel stay like 4 adults in one hotel room–you’re looking at around $25 to $50 per person per night for Club Level. If you do two meals per day (breakfast and dinner) in the Club Level Lounge, or even just breakfast plus dessert and a couple of beers when you return from the park, you’re already getting your money’s worth on the lower end of the pricing premium spectrum.

However, I am guessing that your only consideration is not  value for money…or you probably wouldn’t be looking at Club Level in the first place. (But if you are that rare guest looking to splurge on Club Level while squeezing as much value out of it as possible, look no further–Chronos Club is the one for you!)

disney world yacht club resort club level

It should go without saying, but the larger your party and the more meals you eat in the lounge, the better the value proposition. Add the Resort Concierge service to the mix, as well as the views and ambiance in the lounge, and it becomes pretty easy to justify Club Level.

At the other end of the spectrum, if you’re a party of 2 adults and will only do breakfast in the lounge before rope dropping the parks and staying until park closing (thus missing all subsequent food services in the lounge), it’s literally impossible to justify Club Level. In general, this is not something for “park commandos,” it’s for those wanting a more leisurely, luxurious, and pampered Walt Disney World experience.

In scenarios that don’t fall on either end of those extreme spectrums, there’s doing Club Level simply because you want to treat yo self to an excellent, once in a lifetime kind of experience. Maybe you want the best view in the house at Wilderness Lodge, or to strut around the Polynesian wearing your lei like a rockstar—a modern day Jon Bon Jovi. Sometimes it’s fun to splurge on a taste of luxury because it’s just something you flat out want to do.

Everyone makes purchases that would not pass muster if scrutinized from a value for money perspective. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. There’s no reason to feel bad about wanting what you think will be a cool or convenient experience for the sake of that experience. Anyone who claims every decision they make is 100% rational and 0% emotional is lying. If you want to stay Club Level at Walt Disney World for one of these reasons—or some other intrinsic sense of happiness—more power to you. Only you know what will make your vacation special to you!

disney world yacht club resort club level

We are a party of two adults, and we’ve made Club Level work for us. We discuss the specifics in each of those reviews above, but here’s the CliffNotes version of that: we do split stays, with the Club Level portion of our trip for 1-2 nights at the end of a trip.

If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of a split stay, see our How to Do Split Stays at Walt Disney World Hotels . As you can see there, we are huge advocates of split stays for a number of reasons. When it comes to this, we highly recommend doing the Club Level portion at the end of your trip, rather than beginning.

In part, this is because it’s really tough to go from Club Level back to normal accommodations. More importantly, we recommend this because you’ll spend the first portion of your trip racing around the parks doing everything that you want to get done, exhausting yourselves in the progress. Then at the end, you’ll have a Club Level stay to relax, rejuvenate, and actually vacation.

When we stay Club Level at Walt Disney World, we seldom leave the resort. With this in mind, our least favorite is the Atrium Club Level at Contemporary Resort. Chronos Club is normally a great value and something we really enjoy, but we don’t like hanging around Gran Destino all day, so it’s out from this perspective.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Our two favorite Club Levels at Walt Disney World are those at Beach Club and Wilderness Lodge. We love taking advantage of Stone Harbor Club during breaks from floating around the lazy river in Stormalong Bay, or sitting in a comfy overstuffed chair in Old Faithful Club while gazing down at that glorious lobby. We like to unwind and make the most of the luxurious stay while doing Club Level.

For choosing the right Club Level for you–or getting the details right on a split stay, once again Here’s the Authorized Disney Vacation Planner that we recommend . They can help you come up with a split stay “hotel plan” like this that works for your needs. Your interests are going to differ from ours, but they can listen to your family’s interests and priorities and book something customized just for you. (Plus, they get their commission from Disney, so there is no charge to you for them to book your trip and help you plan!)

disney world yacht club resort club level

The math on Club Level only works out if you’re viewing it as a luxury experience or splurge. If you’re singularly value-oriented, Club Level is never going to make sense. You could simply do grocery delivery and have snacks at your leisure in your Walt Disney World hotel room and come out way ahead in terms of savings. Of course, nothing screams “luxury hotel stay” like having groceries delivered and preparing oatmeal in your room.

Not that we’re knocking that. We’ve done grocery delivery several times and Club Level several times. Some trips we want to travel as inexpensively as possible, other times we want to splurge and treat ourselves to luxurious experience. There’s certainly a place for both styles of traveling.

disney world yacht club resort club level

One thing to reiterate here while we’re discussing a luxurious experience, is that this refers almost entirely to the Club Level Lounge, its food and atmosphere. Concierge Resort Cast Members are generally great and helpful with planning questions you might have.

However, concierge service at Walt Disney World is not the same as it is in real world hotel counterparts. We have stayed at Grand Club level at several Hyatt hotels, among other chains, and the difference at luxury hotels is that the service there is truly above and beyond .

Real world concierges can pull strings and make coveted bookings, quickly have tickets delivered to a hotel, etc. Walt Disney World concierges can make the same bookings available in the My Disney Experience app in lieu of you doing it. This can be a nice convenience, but it’s usually nothing you couldn’t do yourself.

Additionally and more importantly, those real world resort concierges go out of their way to make you feel special and pampered. Their service is very attentive and proactive. Disney’s service is much more reactionary; if you need help, it’s there. If not, there’s a decent chance no Concierge Resort Cast Members will interact with you after check-in.

In that regard, calling it “concierge level” or “concierge lounges” at Walt Disney World is really a misnomer. While the company itself sometimes refers to the level or lounges as concierge, those references are infrequent and often just aimed at convention guests. (Presumably due to their experience with real world concierge levels, but not Club Level? I dunno. Sometimes Disney’s verbiage is confusing and inconsistent.)

disney world yacht club resort club level

In general, this is a fundamental difference that really must be stressed for Walt Disney World first-timers who are used to real world 5-star hotels. If you pampered service is your paramount concern, you are better off booking the Four Seasons Resort Orlando.

With that said, one thing we should note here is that Disney has been improving by leaps and bounds on this front. Walt Disney World wants this audience of “whale” guests, and has lost market share to luxury hotels that have opened around Orlando. There are plenty of reasons to believe Disney is catering to more affluent guests, and improving Club Level offerings to capture this clientele certainly makes sense.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Overall, we’re generally fans of Club Level at Walt Disney World and, for us, it’s worth the money on some trips. The Club Level experience has improved in quality the last couple of years, which certainly makes it easier to justify, too. The lounge atmosphere and views are important to us, and having the services of the Resort Concierge Cast Members is a nice bonus for us.

Still, we like to mix things up. Sometimes we splurge on Club Level and almost no park time; sometimes we focus on parks and simply book a cheap hotel and do quick, inexpensive meals. It varies from trip to trip–and can even vary within trips.

Ultimately, by staying Club Level as part of a split stay during our ‘resort days’, we are able to make the most of our Club Level stays, relaxing in the lounge, eating and drinking as much as we can. From this perspective, we think Club Level works well and is a compelling option. Your vacation plans may vary, in which case the value that Club Level offers to you will differ. Either way, we hope this introduction to Club Level at Walt Disney World has proven helpful for planning your trip, and determining whether the concierge experience is right for you!

the once and only time we stayed in CL was at Animal Kindon and was able to book a few days CL the split to the DVC 1 bedroom villa. We booked a studio CL and for us the studio was quite crowded and the move to the 1 bedroom villa was very welcome after 2 day with 2 of us and 3 kids. teens and 1 under 5. and we loved the lounge and used it whilst there and we did try to make these couple days resort days. But the number one reason we booked CL was access to book the sunrise safari, which was offer ONLY for Cl bookings. THAT was worth every penny! early but a 3 hour semi private safari and then a full breakfast for just our group of 20 people (?) at Jiko not open to public . I don’t know if any other resort cub levels have special things to access like that, but add that even though we paid for the safari tix added, plus the food and drinks and just having a quiet corner to be alone. I’d love to hear what each resort does that like to make it more enticing to partake. Pricey and not money-worthy yes, but things we’ll never otherwise get to do…. I’d love to know

' src=

Since having our twins we’ve always stayed in 1 bedroom villas (booking directly through Disney with a discount). We took a trip this past summer with just my husband and I, stayed at Coronado Springs, and absolutely fell in love. Imagine our excitement to learn that the deluxe suite there with the separate living room, includes club access for a comparable price as a 1 bedroom villa! We’re so looking forward to our upcoming trip this summer!

We absolutely adore the Regatta Club at Yacht Club. the cast members are incredible. we love them like family. We didn’t stay there at all in December, but stopped to leave little Christmas gifts for them…and actually got yo see all of them. we checked out the bounce back offer and booked 3 nights there in December 2024 just because we love the cast members! and what a fabulous bounce back offer we got!!!!

Thank you for the updated post for CL at WDW. We have done all of the CL lounges at Disney Land and always find that you can make a meal out of all of the offerings, BF, Lunch and Dinner, so I was surprised to read in your post that lunch was so scant at WDW. At the DL resorts lunch always consists of the normal chips and snack but also rolls with cold cuts and cheeses so you can make sandwiches as well as PB&J’s for the kids (and adults too) along with fruits and veggies. Sometimes they’ll also have a soup offering during the day. The one that would most often do that was the Grand Californian. It’ll be interesting to see what they offer when we’re there. Our last stay at the Poly was in 2021 and their lounge was still closed due to Covid. Since my kids love the Poly that’s where we’ve stayed. But we look forward to trying other lounges in the future. I so appreciate you sharing all of them here with us.

We have just stayed at the Atrium Club Level at the Contemporary for a special birthday, despite misgivings that it’s not the best on property based on this and other such reviews. We actually loved it! Cast was great! The food was all good! We had hot breakfast items, more than enough for a full meal to start the day. We took full advantage of adult beverages in the afternoons/evenings. As Tom mentions, this was a ‘stay and chill’ stay, not a park ninja stay. I’d do this again and will for sure try Wilderness Lodge as it’s my favorite hotel.

' src=

Our last 4 visits to WDW have been CL visits. Our first CL was Beach Club, it was way less than I had hoped. This was before Covid. The next 2 were at Contemporary CL February ’19 and December ’22. There were still many things not open open 3rd visit, however Contemporary blew away BC and we absolutely adored it there. Then came Poly. The week prior to Easter ’23. I cannot even begin to tell you how magical it was! We were traveling with 2 grandchildren, both vegetarian and one neurodivergent. They went waaaaay out of their way to make the trip memorable and comfortable, and to make sure the grandchildren had plenty of vegetarian options during evening apps. Lunch and breakfast were awesome. The best part was returning in time every evening (except one) to grab evening appetizers, and then a few snacks for our room to enjoy with the fireworks from our balcony. We will absolutely go again! Shout out to every CMat CL Contemporary and Poly! You are all beyond awesome!

' src=

Hi! Great review, I just want to mention one thing that I think it’s worth to mention. We booked a club level room for 3 adults at Polynesian for 5 nights, and the price was about $400 more than having 2 people staying at club level. I don’t know if it’s always true, or just because of specific time and resort (but I think it is more likely to be the former since I have tried several time period with different resorts). So I just want to mention this since the math won’t simply increase your denominator when you have more people.

' src=

We were lucky enough to be upgraded to Yacht Club club level and I have to say that if I was paying for it…. I might have been a tad disappointed.

It was nice to get good espresso coffee of a morning and nice white wine on a sunny verandah of the evening but the food quality was really poor and evidently cheap – mac and cheese, wilted carrot sticks, oatmeal.

Housekeeping were also awful – including banging on our door at 8am morning of departure and really quite grumpy.

If I had been spending $800 a night (!) I would have lost my mind at it.

' src=

Geek, like you we were also upgraded to CL after we were assigned a room that let’s just say smelled really bad. We had always wanted to try CL and are so glad we got to try it without paying. Wife and I would have been so disappointed for really wasting our money. You really have to either be at the resort a lot, drink alcohol daily to get the value out of it. Or comeback to the resort during the serving times which is really inconvenient to do. I will say that the CMs were great and using CL made you feel pampered, but for us that is not enough to justify the cost. Can you make a meal out of the apps they serve? I guess but why would I want to pay a couple hundred more for a cold cut mini sandwich etc. So we’re one and done.

' src=

Past stays with club level were so wonderful and the staff concierge employees were so helpful in planning. This is no longer the case. I booked everything myself, they will not help at all. There were two experiences we really wanted for this trip and I asked in advance for tips in booking and help and all I have ever received as a response is that I am better off doing everything myself and they don’t know. I’m sorry, but the lounge snacks (hot or cold) are not worth several hundred dollars extra from a normal hotel room each night. I definitely will not be staying club level ever again.

Walt Disney World Club Level – What’s Included & Is It Worth It

Ah, Club Level. Disney World’s take on hotel concierge lounges and bespoke service. Typically frequented by business travelers and those with deep pockets, this exclusive room category at Walt Disney World hotels can be a bit of a conundrum for the average family visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth.

However, we’re hoping to change that with this handy-dandy guide. So, if you’re pondering  an upgrade to a club-level room at Disney World, read on as we tackle all your most pressing questions like, “What does Club Level include at Disney World?” and, of course, “Is Club Level at Disney World worth it?”

Disney Club Level 101

Outdoor pool surrounded by windmills

For the uninitiated, there is some mystique around not just Club Level at Disney World, but staying on the club level in general. Add in other terms like “concierge floor” or “club lounge”, or any other combination of the words, and the whole thing can be very confusing.

In general, they both mean the same thing and are often used interchangeably between hospitality brands and even within Disney itself. While the exclusive experience is called “Club Level” at Disney World, Disney Cruise Line refers to it as “Concierge Level.”

Whatever you call it, club-level service basically amounts to guests having access to special perks like a dedicated check-in desk or line, a lounge serving refreshments throughout the day, personalized vacation planning, possibly a floor reserved only for other concierge guests, and much more.

Intrigued? We thought so. But before you splurge on that pricey room (that’s right, this experience won’t come cheap), keep reading as we break down everything you should know about staying in a Disney World Club Level room.

What Does Club Level Mean at Walt Disney World?

Picture this. It’s vacation time and you and your family arrive at the Disney World hotel where you’ll be staying for the length of your trip. You stop by the front desk, give them your name, and are then whisked up an elevator to a keycard-access-only floor for your personalized check-in – no wait necessary.

After settling in, you and your crew head to an exclusive lounge for a bite to eat and maybe a cocktail or two. Best of all, there’s not even a bill, as it’s already included in your room rate. By the time you return to your room, you notice that the bed covers have been turned down and chocolates left on the pillows. And this doesn’t just happen on the first night of your stay. It happens each and every evening you’re there.

Sounds pretty magical, right? Well, all of this and more can be yours by booking one of the Club Level rooms at select Disney World resort hotels.

What Does Club Level Include at Disney World?

Boardwalk hotel with string lights

As anyone who has ever stayed on a concierge floor at Disney World can attest, one of the https://www.parksavers.com/17-best-places-to-sip-on-cocktails-disney-world/ main benefits of staying in Walt Disney World Club Level rooms is the included food and drinks (even alcohol!). But that’s not all. There are even more perks – which is great given the high price tag – like elevated toiletries, comfy robes & slippers, complimentary fax assistance, and much more.

Access to the Club Level Lounge & Daily Refreshments

When staying in a Disney Club Level room, the biggest plus is being able to visit the hotel’s concierge lounge throughout your stay. To top it all off, you’ll even be able to get into the lounge until midnight on the day you check out. These exclusive retreats are a great home base for you and your group, with TVs, comfy seating, and free newspapers. At one point in time, guests were even able to purchase additional FastPasses for $50 extra per day per person, but we’re not sure if this selling point will be sticking around due to Covid-19.

However, the real draw here is the complimentary food and beverages that are served at multiple points throughout the day. (If you want to get technical, the price is actually included in your room rate. But that’s ok, there are plenty of other free things at Disney World for you to try.) Each club operates differently, so not only will you find a unique atmosphere and design, but an exclusive menu as well. Cast members will also be happy to accommodate any food allergies or other dietary restrictions you might have.

Here’s what the schedule typically looks like:

  • 6:30am-7:00am – Coffee
  • 7:00am-10:30am – Continental breakfast
  • 11:30am-4:00pm – Light snacks
  • 5:00pm-7:00pm – Hors d’oeuvres and drinks (beer and wine included)
  • 8:00pm-10:00pm – Desserts and cordials

The coffee kicks off at around 6:30am and runs through the rest of the day. Drinks like soda, lemonade, tea, and water are also available from the lounge’s refrigerator any time you want. Breakfast is usually the most lackluster offering of the day, generally looking like a very generous continental breakfast spread at a regular hotel.

Lobby of Hotel with lights and wood

Think breakfast pastries, yogurt, fruit, breakfast parfaits, and sliced meats and cheeses. At lunchtime, food at Disney club lounges is usually on the sparse side with items like pretzels, crackers, veggies, chips, dip, and candy for dessert. In short, definitely not enough to make a meal out of it – or at least, we wouldn’t recommend it.

Dinnertime, however, is a completely different story. Without a doubt, the best Disney Club Level food and drinks come out during the evening. An array of small bites which are usually cooked up by the chefs at the hotel’s signature restaurant are on offer, and if you play your cards right, you can easily make that your meal. And of course, all the adults in the room will be grateful for the included wine, beer, and cordials. Who needs to go to a bar ?

Personalized Vacation Planning from Signature Services

A dedicated concierge staff is another convenient benefit. Signature Services cast members are on-hand throughout the day to assist you with everything from booking a dining reservation to finagling your FastPasses (when they were being offered anyway). Many Walt Disney World Club Levels also print out a personalized daily itinerary and deliver it straight to your door, making it easy to keep track of everything you have scheduled for the day. Want to make some changes while you’re out and about? No worries! Simply call or send a text to the team’s line and they’ll take care of it.

Now, keep in mind that these aren’t like your typical concierge with connections everywhere. Cast members aren’t able to magically pull things out of thin air. In other words, if you’re looking for a particular timeslot at a certain restaurant and it isn’t available on My Disney Experience , they won’t be able to make it happen. That being said, it’s still a helpful perk at a place like Disney World.

Exclusive Check-In Experience

As long as you arrive between the hours of 7am and 10pm when the Club Level concierge desk is staffed, club-level Disney World hotel guests are able to go to a special desk to check in. Oftentimes, a cast member or manager will greet you at the main entrance once you arrive. But if they don’t, just head to the front desk and let them know you’re staying on the Club Level, so they can escort you to where you need to be. While this perk may not seem like much now, you’ll definitely change your tune when you get a look at the long lines to get checked in.

Large Cabin with foliage

Evening Turndown Service

This is a nice little touch to return to, especially after a long day in the parks or traveling. Towards the end of the evening, a cast member will go into your room to tidy up a bit and turn down your bed linens so you can slip right in once you’re back. To end your night on a sweet note, indulge in the chocolate left on your pillow before bed.

Complimentary Fitness Center Access

It can be hard to work out at Disney . Fortunately, staying at Club Level at Disney World makes it easy thanks to complimentary access to the hotel gym. For those who are especially concerned about stay in shape at Disney World, we highly recommend you stay at Disney’s Coronado Springs, as it easily has the most workout options available including two fitness centers, several group exercise classes, and even a fun run.

Extra Security and Peace of Mind

Whether you’re a Disney VIP or just trying to keep up with the Joneses, knowing that you can rest easy in your hotel room is a huge bonus. Walt Disney World Club Level rooms are usually separated in some way from the other guestrooms in the hotel, whether by separate floors or completely different buildings. Since you must have a valid MagicBand to enter the area, there aren’t as many guests milling about. This helps keep things quiet and secure.

Outdoor pool surrounded by trees

As a cast member at the Wilderness Lodge, I would often hear stories about different celebrities staying on Club Level while visiting Disney, the Grand Floridian and Yacht Club being the most popular choices. And honestly, if some of Hollywood’s finest can keep a low profile while staying in one of Disney’s concierge-level rooms, then anyone can.

Which Disney Resorts Offer Club Level?

A Club Level lounge and rooms are offered at each of the deluxe resorts and Disney World, as well as at the Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs, the only moderate resort of the bunch. In fact, two deluxe resorts at Disney World – the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and the Contemporary Resort – actually have two different Club Level experiences.

At its most basic, Disney Club Level is simply a room type with special benefits and a steep room rate to match. While many of the Club Level rooms at Disney World hotels feature specific views or are on dedicated floors, other resorts allow a wide range of room types to have access to the concierge lounge. And just like how each of the resorts at Disney World is unique, so too are the lounges, with each having its own themed name.

The following hotels at Walt Disney World offer Club Level Service:

Kilimanjaro Club at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

The Animal Kingdom Lodge club-level lounge is known as the Kilimanjaro Club. Concierge-level rooms here all offer stunning views of one of the hotel’s savannas, home to incredible African wildlife like giraffes, zebra, gazelles, and more.

Stone Harbor Club at Disney’s Beach Club Resort

All rooms at the Stone Harbor Club at Disney’s Beach Club Resort are located on the 5 th floor. Both Garden View and Water View rooms are available, or you could also a Standard View to save a tiny bit of cash.

Innkeeper’s Club at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Called the Innkeeper’s Club, Disney BoardWalk club-level rooms are available in two different sizes, a Deluxe Room for up to 6 adults or a Standard Room for up to 5 adults, with views of either Disney’s BoardWalk or the hotel leisure pool, respectively.

Atrium Club & Tower Club at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Monorail into Contemporary Hotel

At Disney’s Contemporary Resort, club level is available for a wide variety of room types, from standard-view guestrooms to rooms with sweeping views of Magic Kingdom Park . Nighttime fireworks from the hotel balcony, anyone? One of the only Disney World hotels with two concierge lounges, the Atrium Club is located on the 12 th floor while the Tower Club is on the 14 th .

Chronos Club at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

Located in the Gran Destino Tower, the Chronos Club at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is the only Club Level experience available at one of the moderate resorts at Disney World. Best of all, with bird’s-eye views of Walt Disney World below and the high expectations of the resort’s convention travelers, Coronado Springs’ Club Level offering easily stacks up to what’s available at the deluxe resorts.

Royal Palm Club & Sugarloaf Club at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the only other Disney World hotel with two concierge lounges: The Sugarloaf Club in one of the outer buildings and the main building’s Royal Palm Club. Grand Floridian club-level guests, particularly those staying in Royal Palm, will especially love the live music that drifts into the lounge from the lobby.

King Kamehameha Club at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Outside hotel building at night

Featuring views of Seven Seas Lagoon, the Magic Kingdom, and lush gardens, the King Kamehameha Club at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is a picturesque pick for club level. Polynesian resort concierge-level guests can even enjoy views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the lounge.

Old Faithful Club at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Located on the 7th floor on the balcony that overlooks the lobby, the Old Faithful Club at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge , making for an especially festive view during the holiday season. The Wilderness Lodge club-level lounge even offers views of the nightly fireworks display at Magic Kingdom, although you won’t be able to see Cinderella Castle through the line of trees.

Regatta Club at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

At Disney’s Yacht Club, concierge-level guests have access to the stately Regatta Club Lounge. Guests can choose from a standard, garden, or water-view room or splurge on a club-level suite.

How Much Does Club Level at Disney World Cost?

If you’ve read through everything and are thinking, “That sounds pretty great! I wonder what the cost of Club Level at Walt Disney World is?”, the answer kind of depends on what you’re looking for.

The Chronos Club at Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is easily the most affordable Club Level option at Disney World. As a moderate resort, club-level rooms here start out at around $400 in 2021. That’s at least $300 less per night than what it will cost you at one of the deluxe resorts. That being said, as the newest, and arguably the best, club level at Disney World, rooms tend to sell out pretty frequently.

Grand Floridian Hotel and pool

As far as the deluxe Disney World resorts go, the cheapest Club Level experience can be found at the Wilderness Lodge, with rooms starting at roughly $700 a night depending on the season. The best way to analyze Disney Club Level prices, however, is by comparing the cost of a concierge-level room to that of a regular room.

For example, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, the most inexpensive room is around $450 during the low season, while the lowest-priced Kilimanjaro Club room is around $780. That’s a $330 premium PER NIGHT. Ouch!

The most reasonably priced Disney World hotels to upgrade to club level are (unsurprisingly) Coronado Springs and (surprisingly) the Grand Floridian, specifically the Sugarloaf Club in the outer building, ringing in at around $130 and $150 more per night, respectively.

Is Club Level at Disney World Worth It?

That’s the million-dollar question, isn’t it? And just like the price tag, it really depends on you.

It Comes with Some Great Perks…

Staying on Club Level at Disney World definitely has its upsides.  There’s plenty of complimentary food being served throughout the day, much of which you could easily make a meal out of, particularly during breakfast and dinner. Personalized vacation planning, including a dedicated text line to make midday changes, can be incredibly helpful for those who are too busy to book reservations and sort things out themselves.

Nice bonuses like upgraded toiletries, covetable views, and access to the health club are also great selling points. Not to mention, it’s hard to not feel fancy when using your Magic Band to get into exclusive locations, checking in at a club-level-only desk, or rubbing elbows with incognito celebrities on holiday.

But There Are Some Caveats (Because Of Course There Are)

Lake with fountain and building

With hotels like the Ritz-Carlton and Fairmont absolutely crushing the concierge-lounge game, Disney Club Level has a lot to live up to. And as you’ll pick up on after checking out some reviews, most of the time it doesn’t really get there.

While most club-level experiences at Disney World offer charming theming and a pleasant ambiance, they can’t usually compare to what you’ll find in many lounges around the world, particularly when you’re paying similar (i.e. expensive!) rates for vastly different experiences. Lounges can get crowded, usually because there are fewer tables available than there are club-level rooms in the hotel, meaning that there’s a good chance you’ll be overhearing someone’s conversation, or they’ll hear yours.

Depending on which club you stay in, the food can be pretty uninspiring, specifically breakfast. Some lounges can get clogged up with dirty dishes due to understaffing. And although the dedicated check-in area and concierge team are nice perks, they also aren’t necessary, especially since the My Disney Experience app makes planning your trip easy.

Plus, this is nothing like the club-level treatment you’re used to in the real world. While cast members might be able to work a little bit of Disney magic, they won’t be pulling strings for hard-to-get reservations like a big-city concierge could. Though the service will be good, you won’t be treated like a VIP (even if you’ll be feeling like one if it’s your first time staying on the club level).

Our Verdict

Outside hotel tower with plam trees

If money isn’t an issue (or if the Chronos Club at Coronado Springs happens to be available), Club Level at Disney World can definitely be worth it if you follow these helpful tips:

  • Nix the Disney Dining Plan when staying club level. (If it comes back, anyway.) Disney World’s concierge lounges already serve food on and off throughout the day. Paying for the Disney Dining Plan would just be spending unnecessary cash on food that you’re not going to eat.
  • Think of where you’ll be and where you’ll want to go. Having access to complimentary eats all day long is great – as long as you’ll actually be around to enjoy them. Some Disney World resorts are close to the parks, meaning it will be easy for you to move back and forth and give you plenty of time to really enjoy the perks you’re paying for. If your resort is farther away but you still plan on spending a lot of time in the parks, it will be difficult for you to fully take advantage of everything.
  • Eat as many meals in the lounge as possible for the most bang for your buck. Food isn’t just one of the main club-level benefits, it’s also one of your biggest expenses while on vacation. So, the more you eat at the concierge lounge, the less money you’ll need to spend on dining elsewhere.
  • Grab a few friends and split the cost. Walt Disney World Club Level rooms can be pricey, but they’re a lot more reasonable when shared between a few adults each paying their own way. And it’s a great way to make your adult Disney trip feel a whole lot more, you know, adult. Because complimentary alcohol.
  • Only splurge on Disney Club Level if you’re going to be hanging out at the resort. Why pay out the wazoo for perks that you won’t be around to use? If you’re planning on being theme park warriors conquering the queues from morning to night, Club Level probably isn’t for you. But, if you’re going to be doing a resort day or two or returning to the hotel for a midday break, it can be well worth the cost. You can even consider doing a split stay with a night or two at Club Level and the rest of your stay somewhere else.
  • If you’re looking for luxury, stay at the Four Seasons or Waldorf Astoria instead. Disney World can be luxurious , but if you’re hoping for an upscale experience in an elevated setting with impeccable, above-and-beyond guest service, and delicious food to match, you’d be better off booking a room at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando or Waldorf Astoria Orlando.

Most guests will not find Club Level worth the extra money . Spending hundreds of extra dollars per night for a light breakfast and snacks throughout the day wouldn’t ever be worth it. You would be better off spending $100 and going to Walmart for an unrealistic amount of snacks and breakfast. Again, unless you just have loads of money to drop and don’t care, it’s probably not going to be worth it.

Well folks, that concludes our guide to staying Club Level at Disney World. While it’s not for everyone or even every stay, if you know how to take advantage of the benefits, it can definitely be worth the steep price of admission.

The Disney Yacht Club Rooms

Yacht Club Rooms

Disclosure: This Disney Yacht Club rooms page contains affiliate links. Read  full Disclosure Policy .

The Disney Yacht Club has a stately atmosphere, fitting with the ships for which it was named. As soon as you enter the lobby, a mix of rich woods and deep color tones has a warm and luxurious vibe. This feeling carries into the rooms, which match the overall character of the resort.

The rooms of the Disney Yacht Club have a simple color palette – dark brown woods, neutral sandy hues, and ocean blue accents. Many of the furnishings also sport gold handles or accentuations that give both a touch of brightness and elegance. In this instance, simple is best, as you have that feeling of a luxury liner rather than something more kitschy. Even the Disney touches are more subdued, adding to the overall adult air of the Yacht Club.

Disney Yacht Club as seen across the water

Like the Beach Club , the Disney Yacht Club has a variety of rooms to fit the needs of your party.

However, with the emphasis being more on adults, you may find the rooms fit better for a “grown-up group” rather than a family.

With that in mind, let’s find you the perfect “cabin” for your Disney vacation !

  • Captain’s Deck Suite
  • Admiral’s Suite

Standard Rooms at the Disney Yacht Club

Similar to other Disney resorts , the Disney Yacht Club separates its rooms into two categories – standard and club level.

Within each of these levels are different view options. Both indicate what you will see off your balcony or verandah and determine your location within the resort.

At the Yacht Club the three views are standard, garden or woods, and water.

Standard View

Standard views typically have the “undesirable” lookouts, like a rooftop, sidewalk, or parking lot.

However, if you don’t particularly care about the literal view outside your room, standard view can be awesome.

Standard view rooms, since they see the parking lot, are sometimes close to the parking lot. If you drove your own car, this is a blessing. These rooms also tend to be cheaper because of their view, which is great if you’re trying to save a few dollars!

As someone for whom the view does not matter, I would gladly take the price decrease versus a better view.

Garden & Woods View

Garden or woods view rooms look out over the gorgeous landscapes surrounding the Disney Yacht Club.

These looks vary from the cultivated gardens and flowers to the wooded area on the backside of the resort. If you like a tranquil view in the morning or evening, you might want to consider this option.

A woods view is also likely to be pretty quiet, as it does not look out onto the boardwalk or any of the main thoroughfares.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Sisters Kitsch (@kneedeepinkitsch)

Water views give you the chance to gaze out over Crescent Lake or provide a good look at the quiet pool areas. Again, if you like to start your morning out on the balcony, a water view can be just the right thing for you.

Enjoy a warm cup of coffee or tea and watch the day start out on the boardwalk. It is peaceful and lovely, and you’re on the right side to appreciate the view without being blasted by the sun.

Even a view of the pool can be nice, although that runs the risk of being a bit louder. However, if you can see the pool, you are closer to the pool, which is a huge bonus.

Again, all the “view category” does is determine what you see and where you are in the resort.

When it comes to the actual components of the room, you need to consider the layout.

Layouts & Amenities

All the standard rooms have the same basic amenities:

  • Internet – Free WiFi Service
  • Coffee Maker
  • Mini-refrigerator
  • Telephone with voicemail
  • In-Room Safe
  • Iron & Ironing Board

While it may not seem like much, that coffee maker and mini-fridge make all the difference. Being able to wake up and make your own coffee in the morning is a lifesaver, especially if you need that caffeine fix to get yourself moving.

With the mini-fridge, you can bring snacks like yogurt and cheese sticks, or even store a small carton of milk for cereal in the morning. My family did this growing up, and it saved us time and money, particularly on park days.

All of the standard rooms at the Disney Yacht Club sleep five adults, which is nice if you’re traveling in a group or for work.

This does also mean that you could sleep a family in these rooms if you would prefer the Yacht Club to the Beach Club .

You can reserve a few different layout combinations:

  • Two Queen Beds & One Day Bed
  • One Queen Bed, One Twin-Size Sleeper Chair, & One Day Bed
  • One King Bed
  • One King Bed & One Day Bed

Depending on your party or the purpose of your trip, each layout has its own benefits.

Families would prefer the second option, while a group of three adults might prefer the first to avoid bed sharing.

Couples might like the third option, as it gives you more bed space and opens up the room at the same time.

The final option is nice if you’re traveling with just one child or you’re a couple traveling with another adult.

All of the views have a mix and match of these layouts, so when you’re booking just be sure to pay attention to the selection. If you have any questions or special requests, you can always call (407) 939-5277 and a Cast Member will help you out!

Disney Yacht Club Rooms with Club Level Amenities

Club Level puts you on a private Club-only floor, special amenities, and access to the Regatta Club lounge.

While the room layouts are generally the same, and the view options are also similar to the standard, it’s these bonus perks that you’re paying for the in Club Level price.

Typically, Club Level rooms will cost between $200-$250 more than the standard room of the same view, although prices are subject to change.

At the Club Level, you will have all the same amenities as a standard room with the addition of the following:

  • Evening turndown
  • Secured key access to the club-level lounge, the Regatta Club, serving refreshments 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily
  • Fax assistance
  • Newspapers in Club Level lounge
  • Health club access

You also check in separately up on the Club Level floor.

While turndown service and newspapers are nice, it’s the access to the Regatta Club that really makes this worth it.

As the food is always stocked, which means you can count on the Regatta Club as another place to get a quick meal.

Breakfast is by far the most popular time, so try to build in time to get your food and find a seat. That is particularly important if you’re going to the parks – don’t take for granted that this will be quick, because others will be thinking the same thing!

Get a look inside the Regatta Club with this video:

Room Layouts & Views

At the Club Level, all of the rooms are going to sleep four adults.

The views also make a difference in this instance, as the various views limit your options as far as the layout.

Standard view, which still looks out over the rooftops or parking lot, is the most limited in terms of options.

For these rooms, you can only get two queen beds or one king bed, with room for a cot or pack n’ play if you have kids.

This is largely because there are less standard view rooms at the Club Level, so it makes sense you would have fewer layout choices.

Garden View

Garden view rooms have that gorgeous landscape outlook that is perfect for nature lovers.

These rooms have three layout options – one king bed, two queen beds, or two queen beds and a day bed.

Particularly the last one would be good for families, as it gives you the ability to spread your kids out among the space. Even if you have three little (or not so little) ones, everyone will have a bed rather than a cot.

Water view rooms look out over Crescent Lake and the boardwalk, providing spectacular views in the morning as the sunrises and in the evening as the lights twinkle across the lake.

This is the most expensive view at the Club Level, partially because of this splendor.

In the water view rooms, your layout choices are one king bed, two queen beds with a day bed, just two queen beds, or one king bed and a day bed.

As you can see, there are plenty of configurations available to fit the need of any party! Even with the extra cost, it might be worth it to get just what you need for your party.

Disney Yacht Club Rooms – Living the Suite Life

One there is only one suite option at the Yacht Club, these two-room suites are gorgeous.

Considered part of the standard level of rooms, they aren’t on the Club Level floor and don’t have those benefits.

However, these suites have plenty of benefits all their own.

Turret Suite

Located in the turrets of the resort, plenty of natural light makes its way into the rooms to give the whole suite an open and airy feeling.

Because of their location, the suites do have a distinctive shape to them, adding to the charm and beauty of the place.

The color scheme of the suite matches the rest of the resort, with the simple nautical color palette and sophisticated air.

Natural wood floors complement the cream and blue furnishings, making you feel comfortable and spoiled all at once. Meanwhile the ship-themed décor is right on point, adding to the overall atmosphere. Again, because of the placement in the turret, the living room has a unique octagonal shape that adds a touch of fun without detracting from the glamour.

In the master bedroom, two guests enjoy the luxury of a king bed and their own ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has two queen beds and its own bathroom, making this suite ideal for families with kids or two parties travelling together. Located in the hallway, a desk and third bathroom adds function and efficiency to the space.

Explore the suite with this walkthrough:

Captain’s Deck Suite

Opening on a beautiful entry hall with decorative wood flooring, you’ll feel like a guest of the captain in this incredible suite!

The color scheme stays true to the Yacht Club theme, with an increased emphasis on the navy blue tones.

Largest of all the rooms at the Disney Yacht Club, the Captain’s Deck Suite is great for a long, extended family vacation.

A massive living room includes a chess table and large couch, perfect for families settling in for an evening movie. The living room continues with navy as the primary tone, with cream and gold accents warming the space. Connected to the living room is a large dining room, containing a dining table that seats twelve guests!

Off the dining area is a service kitchen, missing only a stovetop and dishwasher. A full sink, refrigerator, microwave, and plenty of cabinet space more than make up for it! You are more than able to make some of your own simple meals with these kitchen amenities, which will save you time and money.

The master bedroom has a luxurious king bed and massive ensuite bathroom, giving you the opportunity to pamper yourself and relax on your vacation. A walk-in closet completes the master suite, so feel free to use the space to unpack. This is also a great place to put your suitcases so that they are out of the way. A guest bedroom with two queen beds is great for additional members of your group, including their own bathroom.

A private outdoor patio completes the space, providing a sheltered place to relax or enjoy a meal outside.

Check out this incredible suite with this video tour:

Admiral’s Suite

Walking into the Admiral’s Suite at the Disney Yacht Club, right away you feel the opulence. Gorgeous wood floors feature an incredible nautical star design, with dark woods and deep blue walls accenting the motif. Bright white walls with molding lighten the room while maintaining a sophisticated air.

Similar to the Captain’s Suite, the Admiral’s Suite has a large living area, complete with huge couch and a desk space. These suites are built for families or bigger groups, and the living room accommodates all your guests. A fireplace adds a nice touch in the living room, and you might want to use it in the cooler months. There’s also an additional living room space, with a cool octagonal shape similar to the Turret Suites.

In the dining room, a table has space for five, although you could add a high chair or squeeze in other chairs if needed. A small kitchenette with sink connects to the dining room, which helps to prepare simple meals or divide ordered-in food. Even getting a pizza and eating in the suite will save you money, and it gives you a chance to enjoy the suite! A half-bath completes the communal spaces.

Like the other suites, the Admiral Suite has a master bedroom with ensuite bath, while the second bedroom has two queen beds and its own bathroom. Having this much space is great when you’re travelling with multiple families and kids, it makes it so much easier to get going in the morning!

Check out the suite in this video:

Yacht Club Resort

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is a Deluxe Resort with stunning views, popular dining, and a fan-favorite swimming pool that guests can’t get enough of. Yacht Club is also located right next to Disney’s Beach Club Resort, which is accessible just by walking.

In this article

Located in the Epcot Resort Area, Yacht Club isn’t just within walking distance of the Beach Club, but Epcot itself. There is a path that leads directly to the International Gateway. What’s better than that?

It’s definitely a pricier resort, but for good reason. Based on location, sharing several amenities with Beach Club, just a boat ride away from Hollywood Studios, access to the Skyliner at Epcot, and much more, Yacht Club has a lot to offer.

Plus, the New England-style resort sits on the water and truly is a gorgeous resort right on property. Here’s everything you need to know.

Hotel with the best pool complex at Disney World: Review of Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Summer Hull

Update: Some offers mentioned below are no longer available. View the current offers here .

When you think of a Florida theme park hotel, I'd bet you probably don't think of deep, rich colors, hardwoods and a refined turn-of-the-century, New England-style nautical-themed resort.

And when you think of a hotel pool, you likely don't conjure up images of a 3-acre waterpark complete with a life-size shipwreck replica that is home to a long, twisting, turning waterslide.

But all this, and actually a lot more, is precisely what you'll find at what has to be one of the best hotels at Disney World , Disney's Yacht Club Resort. In fact, when we picked this resort for a short Florida getaway, we actually considered not spending any days in the Disney theme parks to go along with it. We amended that plan for one day at Epcot, but it wouldn't be unreasonable to do an entire vacation here without getting on a single ride. In this case, the resort could be the destination.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Disney's Yacht Club (1990) opened in the same era of rapid Disney World development as Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort (1988), and both share a type of ocean theme. However, the two couldn't be more different from one another. With just over 600 rooms (compared to more than 1,500 at Caribbean Beach), this deluxe Disney resort offers guests a vacation within a vacation both in terms of comfort and amenities.

After a recent stay at the property, it was all I could do to not add another night when the time to check out unfortunately arrived. And while not everything is postcard-perfect at this Disney resort at the moment, I promised myself (and my kids) we'd be back. It's that special.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Let's start with some bad news: Disney's Yacht Club is often expensive.

This is one of Disney's deluxe resorts and there is no Disney Vacation Club wing of this hotel. This means you can't rent DVC points to potentially book a room for less the way you can at places such as Polynesian Village Resort. (Note that you can do this at the neighboring Beach Club Resort.)

If you can snag a room during a sale or with a solid discount, you can probably get the rate down to $350-$400 per night, but it's unlikely to go much lower. It's common for rooms here to go for $500 and up, especially once standard rooms are sold out and you need to pay even more for a water view, which is precisely what I had to do. The view itself is (in my mind) not actually worth an upcharge, but sometimes that's all that's available.

disney world yacht club resort club level

While I booked during a 30% off sale, my water-view room at the Yacht Club still came to just over $500 per night. There are some ways to use points for Disney World vacations , such as using miles from the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card to offset the expense at a 1 cent = 1 mile valuation , but there's no way to get outsize value for your credit card points at Disney properties.

If you do decide to book a Disney resort like this one, it can make sense to go through a Disney Vacation Planner as that doesn't add to your cost and they do a great job staying on the lookout for sales and discounts and keeping track of all those ever-changing components of a trip to Disney World.

No doubt it sounds a touch insane to spend $500 for a theme park-adjacent hotel room, but the location is one reason why Disney's Yacht Club commands that rate (and often sells out).

This hotel is just a 5-10 minute walk from the World Showcase entrance of Epcot. It is also within walking distance of Disney's Hollywood Studios, or you can hop on a boat to take you there since that walk is a bit longer.

Being so close to Epcot also means that the Skyliner stop at Epcot is within very easy reach, opening up even more Disney locations such as the Riviera Resort , Caribbean Beach Resort and more.

Yacht Club is also an incredibly short stroll away from the BoardWalk, which is home to even more shops and restaurants.

disney world yacht club resort club level

I'm happy to save money and stay off Disney property on the first night of the trip, or for trips when we aren't going for an all-in Disney family vacation. But when we do go all-in on Disney World, I want to be in the "Disney bubble." Staying at Yacht Club puts you in the heart of the Disney bubble, well-cushioned in your own deluxe nautical-themed space, but just an arm's reach from lots of great Disney dining and entertainment options.

Related: Guide to visiting Walt Disney World

We arrived at Disney's Yacht Club in the early afternoon, after starting the vacation off with a character brunch at Topolino's Terrace at the top of the nearby Disney Riviera Resort . (Which I highly recommend you add to your to-do list if you love characters and can snag a reservation.)

Since we arrived a few hours before official check-in time, I didn't have high hopes our room would be ready, given the era of pandemic precautions, but that became the first pleasant surprise of the trip when Room 2077 was ready and waiting for us several hours early.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Check-in is also where we were informed that while room service has returned as an option for breakfast and dinner, regular housekeeping had not yet returned to Disney resorts . Towels and trash would be attended to every other day. For our two-night stay, that meant there would be no formal housekeeping services, though we could ask for more towels and such.

disney world yacht club resort club level

If you are able to manage stairs, you can easily access the second level of the resort — where we stayed — via the lobby without using the elevators.

disney world yacht club resort club level

In fact, heading up the lobby stairs reveals some fun touches, such as a ship's wheel, among other themed decor.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Our room was a bit of a walk down several hallways, so if that's an issue, ask for a room closer to the lobby if available.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Inside a room at Disney's Yacht Club, you aren't going to find bright colors, Disney characters or loud decor. If that's what you want, I recommend Disney's Art of Animation , which has plenty of color and characters.

Yacht Club was renovated in recent years to appeal not only to traditional Disney vacationers but also to conventiongoers who frequently stay at the resort during normal times. And in this case, everyone won with a redesign that maintained the overall theme but upgraded the offerings.

disney world yacht club resort club level

The rooms still carry out the resort's high-end nautical theme, but in a way that is elegant and more refined than the previous 1990s-era version.

Like with other Disney resort upgrades, the beds are now raised and the floors are now hard instead of carpet. As Disney renovated rooms across its properties, this has been the standard it is changing to.

disney world yacht club resort club level

There's a pullout sofa that can be used as a sleeper and a small writing desk.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Most notably, there were outlets everywhere. We travel with a lot of things that need charging and we didn't come close to using them all up. Some furnishings may be made to look like turn-of-the-century New England, but they are loaded with modern-day power.

disney world yacht club resort club level

The two queen beds were perfect for a good night's rest after a busy day at Disney.

In the room, you'll also find a minifridge and Keurig.

disney world yacht club resort club level

We were impressed with the amount of storage the room had in the form of shelves, racks, cubbies and drawers. We were able to stay far more organized than normal with a family's worth of stuff, thanks to the storage options.

disney world yacht club resort club level

There was a balcony with two chairs that overlooked a well-manicured green lawn and technically some water. Remember, this was a pricier water-view room after all.

disney world yacht club resort club level

I adored the drapes, both because they did a great job keeping light out in the morning but also because they were adorable and perfect for the room, featuring constellations.

Like at many other similar Disney resorts, the bathroom had a vanity with two sinks located in a cubby between the main room and the bathroom, so it could be used while someone was in the shower.

disney world yacht club resort club level

The bathroom area had a sliding door for both the room itself and the tub/shower combo. There were plenty of Disney H2O+ bath products in the shower and bathroom area.

disney world yacht club resort club level

We found the room incredibly nice, but do know that it doesn't take much to hear what's going on in the hallway or other rooms around you. If you like total silence, you'll be well-served to pack some earplugs and a white noise app to go along with your Mickey ears.

Related: Why you need more than just a ticket to get into Disney World this summer

The Yacht Club room is plenty comfortable, but that's probably not why you stay at Disney's Yacht Club — it's certainly not why we paid what we did to stay here.

Stormalong Bay pool complex

What makes this resort so special is the 3-acre pool complex shared with the neighboring Disney Beach Club Resort.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Dubbed Stormalong Bay, this pool complex has everything from a 230-foot waterslide to a lazy river, whirlpool, shallow splash area, toddler slide, hot tubs and more. It even has a sandy bottom in some of the areas, which feels so much nicer on your tired Disney feet than a hard surface.

disney world yacht club resort club level

This pool area is almost a mini-waterpark and certainly worthy of planning some time in your schedule just to enjoy it. Right now, it can get busy to the point where there is no way to get in during peak times.

However, we had a blast also going late at night after the parks closed, when there were very few people in the pool at all. While the hours can vary, it was open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. during our stay.

disney world yacht club resort club level

There are four cabanas at the pool you can book if you want extra space and service, but you need to reserve well in advance if you want those because they go quickly.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Getting into the pool requires verification you are a resort guest and you're then assigned the colored wristband of the day to wear. There's plenty of towels at the pool, as well as a small army of lifeguards keeping a close watch on the various areas of the pool.

Stormalong Bay is adjacent to Hurricane Hanna's Waterside Bar & Grill, so it's pretty easy to pop over there and order a snack or cocktail. The $12 seafood roll turned out to be a perfect snack for us.

disney world yacht club resort club level

My 11-year-old gave the $6 Lava Smoothie (made of raspberry, coconut and pineapple flavors) high marks and my $14 Frosé was excellent.

Whether your group is made up of adults, some teens, tweens or toddlers, this pool area is truly excellent, especially if you build in some time to enjoy it when most people are sleeping, eating or in the Disney parks.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Evening movies on the beach

Several nights per week at 8 p.m., a Disney movie is shown along the "beach" at the Yacht Club. This is free to enjoy and the week we were there the films showing were "Zootopia," "Sleeping Beauty," "A Bug's Life" and "Disneynature: Earth."

I'll never fully understand who needs a treadmill at Disney when it's normal to walk 10 miles a day in the park, but Yacht Club has those and more in its gym that overlooks Stormalong Bay.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Magical Express Bus

Until the end of 2021, if you want to take the included Magical Express Bus transportation to and from the Orlando airport, that's available to those who stay at this and any other full-fledged Disney resort hotel. If you decide to self-park at Yacht Club, it's going to cost you $25 per night. The upside is that the fee also gives you access to parking at the Disney theme parks at no additional charge.

The Magical Express Bus stop is right in front of the hotel entrance, and the bus stop to go to the various Disney theme parks is just to the side of the hotel entrance.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Still-closed amenities

If you remember when I mentioned there are still some small bumps at Yacht Club, here's where they begin.

Those looking for the ultimate, once-in-a-lifetime Yacht Club experience may want to hold off a tiny bit longer if you want to experience all the amenities. The Club Lounge remains closed, as does one of the main sit-down restaurants.

On top of that, the onsite Ship Shape Salon is still closed, along with the Lafferty Place Arcade.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Normally, you can rent boats or even sign your kids up for a pirate-themed adventure that leaves from the dock outside of the Yacht Club, but all of that is also still on pause.

We had plenty to do for a few days without any of those amenities, but just keep in mind that some things remain shuttered for now.

Ale & Compass Restaurant

Just off the lobby of Yacht Club is a dark, subdued restaurant called Ale & Compass. While you do need reservations to eat breakfast or dinner here, it's one of the easier reservations to get at Disney World.

Described as "Yankee comfort food," this menu has options such as lobster-and-corn chowder; a fantastic salad called the Ale & Compass salad with additions such as pumpkin seeds and beets; steak; pasta; and a burger with bacon and Vermont cheddar served with thick fries.

Getting good photos in the dark restaurant was next to impossible, but we enjoyed our salad and burger.

disney world yacht club resort club level

And while we didn't eat breakfast here, I've heard good things about the dark chocolate waffles.

Our service here was quite friendly but incredibly slow. The wait for our reservation was pretty extensive, followed by another wait for a server to arrive at our table to start the meal-ordering process. This is likely at least in part due to the restaurant having a brisk business of to-go orders that you can make from the Disney app, along with the other sit-down restaurant at the hotel remaining closed.

Related: These are the best restaurants at Disney World

Ale & Compass Lounge

Another alternative to the restaurant is the adjacent Ale & Compass Lounge, which also has a sleek, updated, but pretty dark look once day turns to night.

disney world yacht club resort club level

In the back of the lounge is a bar, with the front portion offering a variety of seating options and a reduced menu that still includes the burger and chowder.

disney world yacht club resort club level

The Market at Ale & Compass

In the gift shop area of the hotel is the Market at Ale & Compass, where you can order grab-and-go options in the Disney app.

disney world yacht club resort club level

We tried the $12 breakfast bowl that had a little bit of everything on it and was actually almost enough food for myself and two kids for a quick pre-park breakfast.

disney world yacht club resort club level

The $7 ham and cheese breakfast sandwich on a pretzel roll also looked really solid.

In the afternoon and evening, you'll find a variety of sandwiches, a hot dog and a panini on the menu.

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop

If you're going to splurge cash on staying at the Yacht Club, I highly recommend also splurging some calories at Beaches and Cream. You're going to need to make a reservation here well in advance (dining reservations are accepted 60 days before your trip) or get very lucky.

disney world yacht club resort club level

We planned our trip pretty close-in and were never able to snag advance reservations, but got lucky with timing that they had an outdoor table available for us to order the most exciting item on the menu ... the Kitchen Sink.

This $35 sink of ice cream is made of eight scoops (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, cookies and cream and mint) along with every single topping in the house. Oh, and there's also an entire can of whipped cream on top.

disney world yacht club resort club level

It's epic, huge, ridiculous and a lot of fun.

The three of us barely put a dent in it but certainly had fun trying.

There are more regular-sized ice cream options on the menu, too, but if you're doing a once-in-a-lifetime trip, try this once-in-a-lifetime dessert.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Should you want more than just sugar for your meal, this is also where you'll find burgers, sandwiches, chili and other 1950s classic-style treats.

Yachtsman Steakhouse

This second sit-down restaurant has not yet reopened, but when it does, this is where you can go for those post-convention expensed sales dinners ... or a very nice meal out for two. The menu features a $135 seafood tower, prime porterhouse, lobster, filet mignon, elk, lobster and other similar entrees that start around $50.

Overall impressions

I'm a total and complete sucker for a well-themed, well-located Disney World resort. Resorts such as this one, along with Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and others, have me hook, line and wallet.

disney world yacht club resort club level

For me, the resort hotel isn't just a place to sleep at night, it's also a destination much like the theme parks themselves. I enjoy the scent in the lobby, the storyline of the property, the Disney touches throughout and the convenience of being fully immersed in Disney magic.

While my kids vetoed the idea, I'd have been totally happy having Disney's Yacht Club Resort serve as our actual final destination for the weekend with no park time at all. However, since it is such an easy walk to Epcot, adding that park on was actually a whole lot of fun, too.

If what you want is just a decent bed close to the parks, don't stay here. You're probably overpaying to stay at Yacht Club if you don't truly value the Stormalong Bay pool area. You can stay at the next-door Disney Swan and Dolphin for a fraction of the cash if you're just after location.

And right now, with some amenities still closed, I don't recommend staying here if you are going to be upset when things aren't 100% full service and perfect. The prices are as high as ever to match demand, so don't expect a reduced price to match the reduced amenities.

But if you can overlook a few things and what you want is a fun, slightly grown-up hotel theme, a great location, access to the best resort pool at Disney World and easy access to multiple restaurants, Disney's Yacht Club Resort is now officially one of my favorite Disney hotels — and one that I can't wait to return to in the coming years.

Resort Rundown: Disney’s Yacht Club Overview

Voyage aboard a finely appointed yacht with a touch of Disney magic. Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts are wonderfully seaside-themed resorts that neighbor each other, and share some amenities. Disney’s Yacht Club brings a sophisticated air to the seashore. Polished brass, well-oiled wood floors, rich blue tones; the decor is bold and refined, without being stuffy. With one of the best pools on Disney property and a long list of great features, Disney’s Yacht Club receives high marks.

The Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are part of the EPCOT Resorts area. It is smack dab in between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can walk to either theme park, walk to neighboring resorts, and have access to over 15 resort restaurants. Disney’s Fantasia Gardens mini golf is a reasonable walk from this resort too. This resort area is one of the most loved areas in which to stay at Walt Disney World. It can be hard to pick a favorite out of the hotels in this neighborhood.

autumn clouds over disney's yacht club resort

Disney’s Yacht Club has regular hotel rooms and suites. The interior of the rooms and suites are full of nautical themes and decor. Dark blue curtains and blue accents on the headboards are complimented by soft cream furnishings and dark woods. Polished brass continues the nautical feel. The rooms have deluxe features, including quite a bit of shelving and storage.

Elegant wall art inspired by sailing, ships, and other nautical themes adorn the walls. There aren’t many Disney touches, even subtle ones. Most rooms have two queen beds, though one king bed is available in select rooms. Some rooms also have a daybed in them.

There are three view types: Standard, Garden / Woods views, and Water views. Speaking of views, you can use the awesome TouringPlans Room Finder to help you narrow down the exact room location you would like. You can plug in your preferences and find rooms that match your needs. Then when you make your reservations and check in you can request your desired rooms. This tool is free to use.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Tour a water view room, that overlooks Crescent Lake, in our video:

The Regatta Club Lounge at Yacht Club is as not as highbrow as the name implies. There isn’t much to the seating area, no outstanding features. A balcony adds to the amenities of the lounge itself. Regular rooms, as well as suites, are available to stay in as part of the Club Level experience. Club Level rooms include: evening turndown, secured key access to the Club Level lounge (serving refreshments 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily), complimentary newspapers in Club Level lounge, and health club access.

One of the biggest advantages of Disney’s Yacht Club is the variety of dining options. Not only does Yacht Club have its own variety of dining, but right next door Disney’s Beach Club does as well. Plus, you can easily get to the dining at Disney’s Boardwalk as well as the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels.

Just off the Yacht Club lobby is Ale and Compass Lounge , which went through a big transformation not too long ago. A great beverage menu, with light bites, is offered from lunch time until 10:00 p.m. For a full dining experience, the Ale and Compass Restaurant has become very popular following its transformation, and a variety of grab-and-go items are available too.

The signature dining restaurant at Yacht Club is the Yachtsman Steakhouse . One of the most elevated dining experiences at any Disney resort, you’re sure to have a fantastic dinner here. (Please note that this restaurant is currently closed as of April, 2021, but we expect it to reopen in the future.)

When you’re splashing the day away at Stormalong Bay, you can visit Hurricane Hanna’s Grill for great food and poolside drinks. Hurricane Hanna’s is popular with many Disney fans thanks to its beautiful views and great menu. (Please note that this restaurant is currently closed as of April, 2021, but we expect it to reopen in the future.)  In-room dining is also available.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Securing dining reservations at popular full service restaurants like Yachtman Steakhouse can be frustrating and time consuming. You can use the TouringPlans Reservation Finder to help you secure dining reservations and save time. Simply select your desired restaurant, then plug in your desired date and time or meal period, select to be notified either via email or text message, and voila! This incredible tool is available with or without a TouringPlans paid subscription, but you do need to create, or have, a TouringPlans login.

This nautical-themed resort is home to two pools – one quiet pool and one feature pool that is the envy of all other Disney resort pools. The themed feature pool is Stormalong Bay and it has three great features that make it the most sought-after pool experience at a Disney resort. First, there’s the sandy beach that leads into the water itself. Then, there’s the waterslide that starts off at the top of a shipwreck. But arguably best of all is the lazy river. This feature pool sits right in between Beach and Yacht Club, and is available to guests of both hotels, and absolutely no one else.

disney world yacht club resort club level

Being in a beach and boardwalk themed area, there are lots of ways to have fun here. Go for a blissful run, jog, or walk around the entire boardwalk and even up to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Head down to the marina to rent a variety of watercraft and enjoy Crescent Lake. There’s even volleyball and tennis courts, fishing excursions, nightly campfires, and movies under the stars. And don’t forget, Disney’s Fantasia Mini-Golf is within walking distance too. There’s so much to do!

Transportation

There are three modes of transportation at this resort. Being so close to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there is a delightful boat transportation that is shared with the neighboring resorts. It takes less time to walk to the theme parks, but if you’re looking to save your energy and rest your legs then the boat transportation is a very attractive feature.

You can also walk to the EPCOT Disney Skyliner station just outside the park gate and head to Disney’s Caribbean Beach station then transfer to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Yacht Club is less than a five-minute walk from the Skyliner station. For the other theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs, there is continuous bus transportation. One main bus station is located out front of the lobby.

Convention Center

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort offers meeting and event space. You’ll often find conventions and weddings at this resort.

One thought on “ Resort Rundown: Disney’s Yacht Club Overview ”

As soon as I saw “7am” as the Regatta Club start time, I realized it would be a nonstarter for my family, who would primarily rely on lounge access for breakfast. Anyone who wanted to arrive, say 30 minutes before early entry hours, during times of year when regular opening is at 8am or 8:30am (with early entry at 7:30am or 8:00am), wouldn’t even have time for breakfast if they were headed to MK or AK.

Club Level at Disney World

Club Level at Disney World

Most of Disney World’s best resorts offer Club Level rooms. This is wonderful news if you’re looking for the best service possible while on your Walt Disney World vacation.

When you consider how much you’ll be spending on your trip, adding a Club Level enhancement doesn’t cost you too much more in the grand scheme of things. This may come as a surprise to many people because most guests assume Club Level is significantly more.  Or, they’ve never even heard of this perk in the first place.

Below we investigate the ins and outs of Disney’s Club Level,  which Disney World resorts offer this perk, the benefits of upgrading to Club Level, and whether or not Club Level is worth the money. Hopefully, this will help you determine if Disney Club Level is a good fit for your next family vacation.

What is Club Level at Disney World?

Club Level Disney Resorts

One advantage to planning a trip to Disney World is the ability to customize your vacation exactly how you wish. From choosing your resorts to your restaurants, theme parks to Disney Genie+ rides, you call the shots. But – as is the case with so many things – the more enhancements you add to your trip, the more magical AND expensive it becomes. And Disney vacations are not cheap, to begin with, so extra money spent better be worth it.  Luckily, there is a way to splurge on concierge-style treatment without totally breaking the bank: Club Level at Disney World.

Many hotels offer special room categories to choose from. They may offer upgraded amenities, special room perks, or concierge-level services. Like many things, the more upgrades you add on, the higher the price goes.

Disney World’s version of this is called Club Level, a special category of rooms that offer its guests VIP treatment.

Club Level (aka, Club Level Concierge ) is not offered at every Walt Disney World resort hotel.  However, it is an option if you stay at Disney Deluxe Resorts .

Deluxe resorts are the most expensive tier of hotels at Disney World, so, while Club Level by itself isn’t too expensive, the fact that you must stay at a Disney Deluxe resort may be a disqualifier for many budget-conscious guests.

Disney Resorts w/ Club Level Accommodations

Disney Club Level

Which Disney World hotels offer Disney’s Club Level accommodations?

Club Level is available at all of Disney’s Deluxe Resorts and at one of Disney’s Moderate Resort (the brand new Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort).

Here’s a breakdown of the Disney resorts offering Club Level, as well as the name(s) of the Club Level lounge at each resort:

Deluxe Resorts

  • Animal Kingdom Lodge – Kilimanjaro Club Lounge
  • Beach Club Resort – Stone Harbor Club
  • Boardwalk Inn – Innkeepers Club
  • Contemporary Resort – Atrium Club (12th floor) and Tower Club (14th floor)
  • Grand Floridian Resort – Royal Palm Club and Sugar Loaf Key Club
  • Polynesian Resort – King Kamehameha Club
  • Wilderness Lodge Resort – Old Faithful Club
  • Yacht Club Resort – Regatta Club

Moderate Resort

  • Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – Chronos Club

As you can see, each resort has one Club Level lounge on its property with the exception of Contemporary and Grand Floridian resorts, which have two.

Benefits of Club Level at Disney World

Club Level FastPass

What are the benefits of booking a Club Level room?

Rooms that fall in this category will give you special access to a number of perks and amenities that non-Club Level guests don’t get.

Each resort may offer slightly different benefits, but here are a few benefits that come standard with Club Level at Disney World.

See our Best Magic Kingdom Rides , Best Epcot Rides , Best Animal Kingdom Rides , and Best Hollywood Studios Rides pages to discover the attractions you should prioritize for Disney Genie+.

Club Level Lounge

The Club Level Lounge is one of the best things about Disney Club Level.

The Lounge provides guests staying at Club Level a place to unwind after a busy day at the theme parks.

Club Level lounges provide comfortable sitting areas, TVs, areas designed for kids, and some offer great views of the resort or nightly shows (The Club Level Lounge at BoardWalk Inn has a great view of the nightly fireworks).

Club Level Lounge becomes a home base during your trip and provides you will a fun space to spend time with your family, travel group, or to meet new people, You will be able to access the Club Lounge as soon as you check-in until midnight of your check out day.

But the “bread and butter” of Club Lounge is its complimentary food and beverages.

Club Level Lounge provides guests with a place to grab some breakfast foods, snacks, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts. There are offerings for both kids and adults, and staff will accommodate anyone with special dietary needs.

Club Level Lounge Details

Menus may vary from resort to resort, but a typical schedule is as follows:

  • Coffee –  6:30 am – 7:00 am
  • Continental breakfast – 7:00 am – 10:30 am
  • Light snacks – 11:30 am – 4:00 pm
  • Hors d’oeuvres and beverages (including wine and beer) –  5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
  • Desserts and cordials – 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

As for evening-time beverages, you can expect to find a selection of complimentary alcoholic beverages (for adults) including beer, wine, and cordials in addition to the standard coffee, tea, canned sodas, lemonade, etc.,

Signature Services – Trip Planning Assistance

Up until recently, Disney Club Level guests could utilize a service called the Disney Itinerary Planning Office (IPO). Cast Members (at the specific resorts offing Club Level) were there to help guests book their Advance Dining Reservation (ADR) and FastPass+ choice [Update: Disney’s FastPass+ has been replaced by Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane ].

Disney now calls this perk “Signature Services” and they are able to assist you in the same manner as the old Itinerary Planning Office.

Please be aware that Disney’s Club Level Signature Services don’t have special access to additional dining reservations beyond what you see in the My Disney Experience mobile app .

Additionally, Signature Services cannot book your Advance Dining Reservation or regular Genie+ reservations any earlier than you or a travel agent.

In fact, you may be at a disadvantage w/ hard to get reservations because the Signature Services office opens until 9 am EST, while the window to book reservations opens at 7 am EST. This means that either you or your travel agent will be able to book reservations a full 2 hours before a Signature Service Cast Member ever could, and you could miss out on that difficult reservation!

With this in mind, Disney’s Signature Services might not be the best choice if you hope to secure hard-to-get Advance Dining Reservations selections.

Sure, the service is helpful, informative, and easy peasy, but a dedicated Disney Travel Agent like those at The Vacationeer can do everything Signature Services does and get you the difficult Advance Dining Reservations, etc.

Contact The Vacationeer today for a free, no-obligation price quote !

Check-In for Club Level Guests

Club Level guests that arrive between 7 am – 10 pm will go directly to the Club Level floor or building to checked-in there.

By doing so, they will be able to bypass the line that forms at the front desk.

Club Level Concierge Desk

Club Level guests can seek out the assistance of Cast Members working at the concierge desk between the hours of 7 am – 10 pm.

They can help with dining reservations, ticketing issues, transportation options, MagicBands, etc.

Extra Security

Club Level rooms are typically located away from regular rooms – and on separate floors or separate buildings – of Disney resorts.

Guests staying at a Disney Club Level room must use their MagicBands to access the floor or building. This limits the traffic flow and adds a degree of security and quietness to these areas.

Evening Turndown Service

Guest staying Club Level will receive traditional room service as well as evening turndown service. Evening turndown service is when the Club Level room is given a light tidying and the bed linens are turned down in preparation for the night. And, as a special touch, guests will find chocolate treats left on the pillows!

Upgraded Toiletries

While many Disney resorts now have wall-mounted toiletry dispensers, guests of Disney Club Level rooms will find upscale H20 brand toiletries and such items like sunblock, etc. in addition to the standard soap, shampoo, and conditioner.

Robes and Slippers

Guests of Club Level rooms at Disney World will find plush robes and slippers in their rooms. Nice touch!

Complimentary Newspapers And Fax

Disney World Club Level guests can pick up complimentary newspapers near the lounges.  There is also complimentary fax assistance if that is something you need.

Daily Itinerary

Some Disney resorts deliver a colorful daily itinerary to their Club Level guests each evening. This is a great visual reminder of what you have planned for the next day, delivered right to your room!

Is Disney World’s Club Level Worth It?

It’s hard to make the case that Club Level at Disney World is actually a cost- savings .

Sure, there are plenty of perks and if you hang out in the Club Lounge all day, then this could potentially offset some of your food expenses. But most people will be out and about most of the day and miss out on many of the food and beverage offerings.

If money is no object, then Club Level Concierge certainly makes sense because you have more options and more ways to be pampered with this level of service.

And when it comes down to it, Club Level isn’t really that much more in the grand scheme of things. In fact, the cost of a room is often comparable to a non-discounted standard room at the same Disney resort.

Your Disney World vacation will be expensive no matter how many corners you cut. Sometimes it’s worth splurging and getting the best!

Enjoy your trip!

We hope our Club Level at Disney World page has helped you determine if this perk is worth the money.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Review: Standard View Room

Disney’s Yacht Club is a beautiful deluxe resort at Disney World within walking distance of Epcot and several other resorts . Take a tour of our Yacht Club room and find out why this is one of our favorite Disney World resorts.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is considered an Epcot area resort and located next to Disney’s Beach Club Resort with many shared amenities. Yacht Club is a short walk to Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas and Epcot’s International Gateway.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Overview

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort has an upscale nautical ambiance. The lobby has a huge globe over a round, compass inspired rug. The lobby has several seating areas where you can relax while enjoying the sophisticated decor.

Blue hues of varying shades, white wainscoting, and a large globe welcome guests to Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Railings along the second floor of Yacht Club Resort alternate traditional railings and wooden panels with an embossed ship’s wheel. There are also rope swags along the railing. The carpets throughout the resort have ships and compasses to continue the nautical feel as you walk to your room.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Pools

Blue skies above showcase Stormalong Bay's sand bottomed pool, lazy river, and giant water slide

One of the best things about Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is Stormalong Bay which is so much more than a normal hotel pool. Stormalong Bay is a 3-acre (12000-sq-m) shared water park area for both Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club resorts.

We generally don’t reserve a lot of pool time on our vacations, but Stormalong Bay is our favorite Disney World pool. This means we always pack a swimsuit when staying at Yacht Club to enjoy a dip in the sand covered pool or float on the lazy river.

Stormalong Bay has one of the highest hotel slides at Disney World which is an impressive 230 feet (70 m) long. Although the slide is extremely fun, guests must access the slide by leaving the pool area and crossing a walkway connecting several hotels to Epcot.

Families with small children may not be comfortable letting kids head to the slide alone because of this often crowded and unmonitored walkway.

After crossing the walkway, climb to the top of a huge shipwreck replica before plunging down to the pool below. There is also a smaller water slide for younger, or less adventurous guests, of Disney’s Yacht Club.

An impressive "shipwreck" is a giant water slide at Disney's Yacht Club

Stormalong Bay’s lazy river winds around one section of the water park with free tubes available near the entrance. Looking for something a little simpler? Yacht Club also has a small leisure pool near the tennis courts.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Dining

There are several dining and lounge options located in Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club complex. I’ll cover a few of our favorites below. Check here for a complete listing of dining options.

Yachtsman Steakhouse

Disney's Yacht Club Resort is a beautiful deluxe resort located near Epcot. Find out more about Yacht Club Resort and our standard view room experience. #disneysyachtclub #disneyworld #disneyresort #familytravel #disneyvacation

I was worried that this fine dining restaurant at Yacht Club might be a bit stuffy, since it is one of only a handful of Disney World restaurants with a dress code. However, we saw lots of families and many groups without kids enjoying the warm ambiance of Yachtsman Steakhouse for dinner.

While waiting to be seated we got to watch a butcher hand-trim steaks and some of the chefs working in a partially open kitchen area. This was a great way to get excited about our meal.

I thought the quality of our meal was good, and we liked the atmosphere of Yachtsman Steakhouse. I would definitely go there again if I had time for a nice sit-down dinner.

Cape May Cafe

Minnie dons a mesh and pink sun hat with her gorgeous pink, blue, and purple striped wrap dress at Cape May Cafe breakfast with Minnie

Located just off the main lobby of Beach Club Resort, Cape May Cafe is open for breakfast and dinner daily. Breakfast is a fun character buffet featuring Minnie and some friends . Dinner is also a buffet, which heavily features seafood dishes.

Beaches and Cream

Disney's Yacht Club Resort is a beautiful deluxe resort located near Epcot. Find out more about Yacht Club Resort and our standard view room experience. #disneysyachtclub #disneyworld #disneyresort #familytravel #disneyvacation

This fun diner is near Stormalong Bay in between Yacht Club and Beach Club. Beaches and Cream serves burgers and sandwiches for lunch and dinner, but for us their ice cream is the main event.

Beaches and Cream is a popular restaurant with limited tables, booths, and counter seats even after a big expansion and remodel. Make advanced dining reservations 60 days before your trip for the best availability, but keep checking for last-minute reservations if you don’t at first succeed.

No reservation, but you only want some ice cream treats? No problem! Order take-out shakes, ice cream, and floats at the walk-up window.

My favorite Beaches and Cream treat is an ice cream sandwich of vanilla ice cream wedged between two huge chocolate chip cookies . I get one of these delicious ice cream sandwiches any time I am near Beaches and Cream.

Review Of Disney Yacht Club Resort Standard View Room

Entering the Yacht Club Resort Standard View Room I immediately noticed several things. The room feels open and spacious with great nautical details throughout.

Laminate floors and thoughtful spacing allows the room to sleep up to five guests without feeling cramped. We’ve stayed in two different room configurations: two queen beds plus a day bed that transforms from a couch to a twin-size bed and a more traditional two queen room.

Please note that a Yacht Club Resort Standard View room can have any of the following configurations: 2 Queen Beds and 1 Day Bed or 1 Queen Bed and 1 Twin-Size Sleeper Chair and 1 Day Bed or 1 King Bed or 1 King Bed and 1 Day Bed.

Just inside the entrance to the room is a small coffee station with Keurig coffee maker nestled on top of a trunk. This trunk conceals a small beverage cooler.

The Yacht Club Resort beverage coolers hold less than the traditional mini fridges found at other Disney World resorts. A half gallon of milk only fits sideways on the shelf and bottled waters are also a tight fit.

For a short stay the smaller fridge isn’t a problem, but may be annoying when staying for a longer vacation with lots of groceries.

Disney's Yacht Club spacious closets are well organized with multiple compartments

A huge wooden closet along the entryway contains an in-room safe, several shelves, a full length mirror, and areas for hanging long and short items. Find an iron and foldable ironing board on one of the closet shelves.

Yacht Club Standard Room Bedroom Area

From the entryway you can see the entire bedroom area. The bedroom decor is a mix of dark wood with cream, navy, and brass accents. If you need more storage space than the closet provides, there is a large dresser in the room just below the wall mounted television. This dresser also has several electrical outlets which is extra helpful now that we are using Magic Band+.

In the two queen plus day bed configuration the couch/day bed is a great way to have seating during the day plus additional sleeping space at night. The two queen room option only has the desk chair and a upholstered chair with matching ottoman.

The beds have a bedside table between them. On the other side of the bed where normally there is nothing the standard room at Yacht Club had a little shelf with an outlet. This is a perfect spot for someone to charge a phone overnight and still use it as an alarm.

The room also has a desk and chair. The desk is actually two different pieces: the normal desk and a rolling table underneath. This gives extra table space in case you want to eat in the room, write, or draw.

Disney's Yacht Club Resort is a beautiful deluxe resort located near Epcot. Find out more about Yacht Club Resort and our standard view room experience. #disneysyachtclub #disneyworld #disneyresort #familytravel #disneyvacation

The Yacht Club Resort Standard Room has a sliding glass door leading out to a small patio or balcony. There are cute blackout curtains on the window and door leading to the balcony. Look closely at the curtains to find fake constellations of some favorite Disney characters.

Yacht Club standard view rooms can have a view of anything , but are generally parking lots or roofs. Sometimes we’ve been surprised with a nicer view, but that shouldn’t be the expectation when booking the standard view rooms.

Yacht Club balconies have privacy walls on both sides of the balcony plus two chairs and a small side table. This makes it a nice place to relax especially if you have a little one taking a nap or a teen sleeping in.

Yacht Club Standard Room Bathroom Area

The Yacht Club bathroom is just inside the entryway opposite the closet. The bathroom has the split configuration where the sinks are in one room and the shower/toilet in a small separate area.

At first I was concerned that the door to the bathroom is a sliding barn door.  Sometimes this style door doesn’t close fully, but this one was great. In fact, the sliding door to the bathroom even has a soft-close feature so it can’t be accidentally slammed.

There are double sinks with storage in the vanity and a slender shelf above the sinks. The shower and toilet area is a bit tight, but manageable. A pocket door closes it off from the rest of the bathroom allowing multiple people to get ready at the same time.

The room had the following great features:

  • Laminate Floors
  • Soft close sliding bathroom doors
  • Wonderful closet area with tons of storage
  • Split bathroom with a double sink
  • A plug and small area for phone on side of bed
  • Keurig coffee maker
  • Blackout curtains

In Room WiFi

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort has complimentary wi-fi. The free wi-fi works pretty well overall, but does not always support streaming video from services like Netflix.

Yacht Club Parking

Self-parking is complimentary for resort guests while valet parking costs $33 per night at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas

Transportation To Parks

Use this gray and white lighthouse to find Disney's Yacht Club boat dock behind the resort.

Yacht Club To Epcot And Hollywood Studios

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is located within walking distance of both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The walk to Epcot takes you past Beach Club Resort and into the International Gateway entrance between France and United Kingdom in World Showcase.

The walk to Hollywood Studios from Yacht Club is considerably longer, but is possible. If you prefer to save your steps, take a boat from the dock located behind Yacht Club which brings you, and guests from other resort stops, to Hollywood Studios.

Yacht Club To Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom

Hop a bus to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom from Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Find the bus stop on the left side of the main entrance when exiting the lobby area.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is a beautiful deluxe resort with great restaurant options and the best pool at Disney World. We love the sophisticated take on nautical design in the resort and the easy walk to Disney’s Beach Club , Disney’s Boardwalk , and Epcot.

I am overall very happy with our rooms here, but do think the rooms could be better maintained. On a recent stay our shower caulk was damaged and water leaked out onto the floor.

Despite this we still love the laminate floors, beautiful closet, split bathroom, and comfortable beds which make for a pleasant stay at Yacht Club.

You may need to make a reservation quickly to secure an Innkeeper’s Club room at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn but you’ll be treated to views such as: Disney’s BoardWalk; courtyard leisure pool; gardens; or Crescent Lake. Rooms that are available to reserve include:

  • Outer Building Garden Room
  • Sonora BP Suite

This magnificent Disney hotel allows Guests to step into the heart of Africa. Located round the corner from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Resort is split into two parts: Jambo House which is the main hotel; and Kidani Village which is where the Disney Vacation Club Studios and Villas are found.

Club Level at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is known as the Kilimanjaro Club. It is the only Resort where Disney Vacation Club Members can use their points to to book a Club Level stay, and even then, its a pretty difficult thing to do given that there are only 10 DVC Club Level rooms available. However, a Kilimanjaro Club Level stay is one of the most affordable Club Level experience on Disney Property, usually having the lowest Deluxe Resort Club Level prices.

Most Club Level rooms in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge have a savanna view, and are located in Jambo House. This is also where the Kilimanjaro Club Lounge is located. The Club Level rooms available to reserve in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge include:

  • Savanna View
  • Standard View 1 Bedroom Suite
  • Deluxe Studio
  • 1 Bedroom Villa
  • Royal Asante Presidential Suite

Disney’s Coronado Springs

The addition of Gran Destino Tower to this Moderate Resort allowed for this Disney Resort to offer Club Level to Guests. Whilst we’re aware that Club Level offerings are less compared to the Deluxe Resorts, it’s a great option for Guests who are working on a smaller budget but would still welcome the benefits that Club Level offers. Guests can enjoy unique blends of Spanish, Mexican and Southwest American cultures at Disney’s Coronado Springs.

Club Level Guests at Disney’s Coronado Springs are part of the Chronos Club. Guests of the Chronos Club will get to enjoy a hotel room in Gran Destino Tower with a variety of views, including: Lago Dorado; the courtyard; parking areas; or Resort landscaping. Chronos Club Guest rooms available to reserve include:

  • Deluxe Suite
  • Presidential Suite

Which Disney Resort Club Level are you hoping to stay in at some point? Or is it something that you haven’t considered until now? We can’t wait to make our first Club Level reservation; the only difficult part is choosing the Disney Resort to stay at to experience it!

The Ultimate Disney Yacht Club Review + Insider Tips

February 8, 2021 //  by  Kimberly Jones //   2 Comments

Disney’s Yacht Club opened back on November 5, 1990. Its sister location is the Beach Club located right next to it. The Yacht Club is a beautifully themed resort with nautical and beach themes. We are going to tell you everything you need to know about this wonderful resort in our Ultimate Disney Yacht Club Review + Insider Tips!

There are so many great aspects to this resort such as its location, pools, transportation options, and amenities. If you are thinking about staying at the Yacht Club, read on to find out if this resort is a good fit for you!

Where Is The Yacht Club At Disney Located?

One of the best reasons to stay at Disney’s Yacht Club is the fantastic location! This resort is within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios . There are also several different transportation options to all of the parks, Disney Springs , and the water parks .

The Yacht Club is directly next to the Beach Club, and they share the pool. Now you not only have access to all of the Yacht Club’s restaurants and amenities, but you also have access to the Beach Club’s!

The Yacht and Beach Club are right across the water from Disney’s Boardwalk Resort . It is a short walk away to enjoy everything the Boardwalk has to offer! There are some fun restaurants, bars, and shops to explore there.

The Yacht Club is also very close to the Swan and Dolphin Hotels. There is a pathway to take you right over to these hotels for some extra fun as well!

Not only are there other resorts within walking distance of the Yacht Club, but there are also resorts that are a quick Skyliner trip away! Taking the Skyliner from Epcot’s International Gateway, you can visit Disney’s Riviera Resort, Caribbean Beach Resort, Pop Century , and Art of Animation!

Disney’s Yacht Club is in a very prime location with quick access to two of the parks and multiple resorts!

Checking in to The Yacht Club At Disney

Checking into the Yacht Club is extremely easy, and it doesn’t even require you to visit the front desk! The day of your reservation, you can check in to the resort from the My Disney Experience app . The app will let you know when your room is ready and what your room number will be! If you have magic bands or even your phone , you can head straight to your room and unlock the door.

Of course, you can always go the old school route and check-in at the front desk. All the cast members at Disney’s Yacht Club are extremely friendly and accommodating! A great tip to keep in mind is you can always see if there are any upgrades available for your room. We were able to get a free upgrade from a standard view to a water view!

The lobby is also absolutely amazing here. It has a very adventurous and nautical theme to it. You can find everything you need right in this area, such as the restaurant, lounge, bell services, and the front desk.

Right outside the backside of the lobby, there is a boardwalk that will lead you to the boat transportation to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

view of the lobby at Yacht Club Resort

Transportation Options From The Yacht Club

We love all of the transportation options the Yacht Club has to offer, and we’re sure you will too! As mentioned before, there are walking paths to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The Epcot walking path is very short and will get you to the International Gateway in about 5 – 10 minutes. The entrance at International Gateway is on the back side of Epcot by World Showcase .

The walking path to Hollywood Studios is a little bit longer than the Epcot one. This one can take 20 minutes or more. However, there is boat transportation to Hollywood Studios if you don’t want to walk! You can find boat transportation right behind the lobby that will take you to Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

If you don’t want to walk or take the boat to Hollywood Studios, you can always take the Skyliner! There is a Skyliner location right outside International Gateway that will take you first to Disney’s Riviera Resort, and then to the Skyliner central hub at Caribbean Beach Resort. From here you will get off the Skyliner and get in line for a different Skyliner track to take you to Hollywood Studios.

So there are so many options to get to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, but what about the other parks? Disney has bus transportation from the Yacht Club to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Spring, and the water parks.

If you plan on spending a lot of time at either Epcot or Hollywood Studios, the Yacht Club is one of the best resorts to stay at.

Disney Yacht Club Room Review

There are several different room options at the Yacht Club. There is Standard View, Water View, Garden or Woods View, and 2 Bedroom Suites. All of the view rooms also have club level options.

I was able to stay in a Water View room. The room was absolutely delightful! It had a nautical theme to match the rest of the resort, and it was quite spacious. The room had two queen beds and a pull out couch, so it was able to sleep up to 5 guests. We only had 4 guests in our room, but I could imagine the pull out bed might make the room feel a little more cramped.

The room had large closets with space to hang clothes, and a big sink and bathroom area with two sinks. The shower had a sliding glass door, which I prefer over a curtain.

I really liked that this room had wood flooring compared to carpet. It added to the nautical theme very well. The room also had a balcony that looked over the back entrance of the lobby and the water. Overall, the room was very nice, and I thoroughly enjoyed its set up!

Yacht Club rooms average in price anywhere between $400 to over $3000 per night depending on what room you stay in and what time of the year you visit.

Dining Options At The Yacht Club

There are some really great and delicious dining options at the Yacht Club. This resort has two restaurants, two lounges, a quick service restaurant, a restaurant located in between the Yacht and Beach Club, and a pool bar.

The two restaurants at the Yacht Club are Ale & Compass and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Yachtsman Steakhouse is currently temporarily unavailable, but Ale & Compass is open for breakfast and dinner. This restaurant follows the nautical theme with a relaxing atmosphere and some delicious coastal eats.

The Ale & Compass Lounge is located adjacent to the restaurant. Here, you can order off the lounge menu and even the restaurant menu. This lounge can fill up quickly at night though, so make sure to grab a seat early if you want to eat or drink here.

The other lounge, Crew’s Cup Lounge,  is right next to Yachtsman Steakhouse and is also temporarily unavailable. We hope that the lounge and restaurant will open soon!

The quick service location shares a spot with the Yacht Club’s gift shop. When you enter the Market at Ale & Compass, on the right is the gift shop and on the left is the quick service restaurant. They serve coffee, sandwiches, pastries, and more. This is a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat to or from the parks!

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is the hidden gem of the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts! This restaurant is located in between the two resorts and serves some wonderful food! They are open for lunch and dinner and they serve sandwiches and burgers. My favorite is their Grilled Cheese sandwich, its delicious!

However, save room for the best part of this restaurant. The ice cream! They have shakes, floats, and sundaes! You can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. If you’re feeling really brave though, try the Kitchen Sink sundae. This sundae is meant for 4 or more people, and includes every topping and a whole can of whipped cream! I have attempted it twice, and I still haven’t been able to finish it. Maybe you can!

Hurricane Hanna’s Grill is the pool bar located right next to Stormalong Bay. They have a few food items and some refreshing drinks.

If you’ve tried everything at the Yacht Club and want something different, head over to the Beach Club! Here you can find even more restaurants and tasty eats!

Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club Resort

Yacht Club Swimming Pools

The Yacht and Beach Club have hands down the best swimming pools on Disney World property. It’s considered more of a small water park than swimming pools because it’s so large!

Stormalong Bay is 3 acres of refreshing fun! It includes a large sand bottomed pool and a lazy river. There are waterfalls, a volleyball net in the pool, and a water slide.

This water slide is no joke. You climb a large shipwrecked ship all the way to the top and then slide down this long and exciting slide! Stormalong Bay even has a “beach” area with sand to play with! After all that fun, go relax in one of 3 whirlpool spas.

Right by the entrance to the water slide is a small kid play area with a mini water slide. This is a great introduction to the big slide for nervous kids!

Don’t need all the excitement of Stormalong Bay? There are also 3 leisure pools at the Yacht and Beach Club for guests to enjoy.

If you plan on staying at the Yacht Club, you must plan a resort day into your schedule! Make some time for this awesome mini water park and relax away from the parks! You won’t regret it.

Amenities At The Yacht Club Resort

There are so many fun amenities and things to do at Disney’s Yacht Club. When it comes to activities, there are fishing excursions, a tennis court, a sand volleyball court, jogging trails, motorized boat rentals, an arcade, and a fitness center. Just ask the front desk if you’d like to book a fishing excursion or rent a boat to go out on the water!

The Yacht Club even has a spa! Ship Shape Massage Salon is a full service spa that can do massages, facials, hairstyling, and nails. We all need a relaxing day every once and awhile! Why not enjoy the spa on your day off from the parks?

The resort also has campfire activities, movies under the stars, and a Pirate Adventure Cruise (which is unfortunately temporarily unavailable at the moment). The Yacht Club is within walking distance of the Fantasia Gardens & Fairways Miniature Golf. Go show off your mini golf skills at this adorably themed course!

This resort really has a lot of fun things for you and your family to enjoy! You will definitely want to take a day away from the parks to enjoy this amazing resort!

Overall Thoughts On Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

We at Disney Trippers absolutely love Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The whole place is incredibly peaceful and beautiful. It has the perfect mix of being family friendly and adult friendly with lots of things to do. So whether you’re traveling with a bunch of adults or your kids, everyone will enjoy it!

Most everything is in super close distance to this resort. The only time you will have to take the bus is to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Spring, or the water parks. The other parks and some resorts are really easy to get to, making this a top notch location for a resort.

If you have a day off from the parks, make sure to enjoy all of the amenities the Yacht Club has to offer. You could spend a whole day just having fun at the resort! You definitely don’t want to miss out on this place!

We stayed at the Disney Yacht Club the last time we were at DW. We loved it. The staff was outstanding. It was an adult family vacation, and due to different work schedules, some family members had to fly in at different times. The staff accommodated each one and made them feel as if they already knew them. We loved the location as we could walk to different locations. We tried the Kitchen Sink sundae, but couldn’t finish it. We sure had fun trying. We actually took one day to enjoy the resort and were not disappointed. We spent time in the swimming pool, which was amazing with the sand bottom. Lunch was an delicious lobster roll and we finished off at the steakhouse. I would certainly recommend this resort to all who are considering a trip to Disney World.

USA TODAY

These 11 Disney World hotels are perfect for families of 5+

W alt Disney World Resort isn't just one of the most popular family vacation spots in the U.S. , it's one of the most popular family vacation ideas in the world, period. And with four Orlando theme parks to visit, two Disney water parks and shopping and dining options galore, the last thing a large family wants is to be cramped in a tiny hotel room. Luckily, Disney knows its stuff when it comes to hotels (and families), so many of the best hotels near Disney World were designed with large families or groups in mind.

Typically, the Disney hotels that accommodate large families have two standard beds and a smaller pull-down daybed, the latter of which is great for kids (or adults like me, since I've been known to sleep in the pull-down daybed if needed). Don’t worry about storage, either, because the beds at most Disney World hotels are raised so you can store your luggage underneath. The bathrooms generally have plenty of cubbies and shelves for storage as well.

ROOM FOR EVERYONE: 15 best all-inclusive resorts for large families in 2024

Start the day smarter. Get all the news you need in your inbox each morning.

No matter your budget, desired theming, or proximity to the theme parks, there’s a Disney hotel room that sleeps five or more comfortably with your name on it. Here are my picks for the best Walt Disney World hotels for large families.

Best Disney World Value Resorts for Families of 5+

There are only two value resorts that sleep five or more at Disney World, and they both offer family suites that can sleep up to six adults.

1. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

If you're traveling with small kids who have just gotten into the Disney animated movies, consider one of the family suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort . You can choose from three themes: "Cars," "Finding Nemo" and "The Lion King." I personally love the rooms themed to "The Lion King" because it was one of my favorite childhood movies.

All of the themed family suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort have the same amenities, so it’s really just a matter of which theme you want to be immersed in. Each room has one Murphy bed that doubles as a table, one sofa bed, one queen bed, two bathrooms, and a small kitchenette. The kitchenette is a great spot to make easy breakfasts like cereal with milk, or store snacks that you can come back to your room and eat after a day in the parks.

EXTRAS INCLUDED: 19 cheap theme park hotels that come with magical perks in 2024

2. Disney’s All-Star Music Resort

At Disney’s All-Star Music Resort , the family suites are themed to Mickey and his pals playing different genres of music. Around the room, you’ll find touches of that theming, but it’s not overwhelming, which I think is nice because I've probably gotten my fill of Mickey Mouse at the theme parks.

In the first room of the suites, there are two Murphy beds, which also double as a couch and table when they're put up into the wall. There’s also a small kitchenette with a full-sized refrigerator and microwave. I like bringing snacks like popcorn, toaster pastries or pizza pockets to heat up for a quick bite before heading back out to the parks in the evening. Each family suite at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort also has two separate bathrooms, which is nice for larger groups and multigenerational Disney family vacations where multiple people are trying to get ready at one time.

Best Disney World Moderate Resorts for Families of 5+

Three of the moderate resorts at Disney World offer ample space for a large family without having to reserve a club-level room or a suite.

1. The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

One of my favorite hotel options at Walt Disney World is The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort . Each of the cabins sleeps up to six adults, with a queen bed, sleeper sofa and a set of bunk beds. Though there’s only one bathroom in the cabin, the trade-off is a full kitchen and an outdoor grill where you can make all of your meals if you wish.

Each of The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness has a large front porch with a picnic table. This is a great option for families who don’t want to be in the parks all day every day while on vacation.

On a recent stay at the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, my family spent three days making our own meals, enjoying nature, and having so much fun around the campgrounds that we never actually left the resort to go to a park – and we still didn't get to do everything that Fort Wilderness has to offer! One of the best things to do here is Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, a dinner show with all-you-can-eat fried chicken and all of the Southern fixin's.

WHERE TO EAT: Disney’s Dining Plan explained: Ultimate guide to Walt Disney World’s pre-paid dining plans

2. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has become a hot spot for guests thanks in part to its direct access to the Disney Skyliner . This is the resort where all of the lines on the Disney Skyliner converge, and staying here gives you access to the main terminal, so it's easy to get to either EPCOT or Disney's Hollywood Studios (home of the Star Wars land , Galaxy's Edge).

Rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort are cute and decorated with a fun Caribbean vacation theme. Guests needing the fifth sleeper will want to look for that indication on the standard, preferred or water-view rooms. The rooms have two queen beds and a small pull-down bed with a mural of Mickey and Pluto sleeping on a beach.

I like staying here not just for the Skyliner access but because after a hectic but fun day in the parks, the calming colors of the room help settle everyone down before bedtime.

3. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside

At Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside , fifth sleepers can be reserved with a standard view or woods view. The spacious rooms have laminate flooring and a slight theme to "The Princess and the Frog." This is most evident when you pull the bed under the TV down and reveal a picture of Louis, Ray and the frog versions of Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen sleeping on the bayou. Kids will love sleeping on the pull-down bed because of how cute the bayou scene is.

The bathrooms in these rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - Riverside are large and come with a double vanity, plus a fun nod to Ray and Evangeline from the film. This is my favorite Disney resort hotel for bigger families, and I highly recommend these rooms if you plan on spending time at Disney Springs, because there's direct access to the entertainment venue via complimentary boat rides.

Best Disney World Deluxe Resorts for Families of 5+

Disney's deluxe resorts are generally the ones closest to the theme parks. Rooms at the deluxe resorts are typically the most expensive at Walt Disney World. There are six Disney hotels suitable for large families in this class.

1. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa

One of the marquee resorts at Walt Disney World, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is absolutely enormous − as are its guest rooms. The rooms have a fun "Mary Poppins Returns" theme, where kids will love spotting Mary, Bert and the cute penguins from the movies throughout the room.

DISNEY DINING: 11 one-of-a-kind Disney foods you need to try at Disney World

What I love most about these rooms is the ample amount of storage from a wall that's entirely covered by closets so everyone can unpack and not have to live out of their suitcase. No matter which building your guest room is in, the views are probably great with Seven Seas Lagoon , the Monorail or Magic Kingdom all in view.

2. Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney’s Contemporary Resort is made up of multiple buildings, though most people think of the iconic main building that the monorail travels through every few minutes. Those traveling with kids will want to book one of the main building rooms that were recently refurbished to reflect "The Incredibles." These rooms for large families have two queen beds and one day bed, comfortably sleeping five guests.

If you’re looking for a more adult atmosphere at your Disney hotel, consider booking one of the garden wings at Disney’s Contemporary Resort; these are adjacent to the main tower and have a fabulous view of Bay Lake . These rooms also have the new "Incredibles" theming but are a bit quieter since the monorail doesn't travel through.

3. Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

If you have a large family and want to be within walking distance of EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, consider staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort . The nautical-themed hotel features rooms with standard, woods, or water views that can sleep up to five on two queen beds and a day bed. And if you can swing it, splurge for the water view rooms to enjoy the sunrise over the water and see the nightly EPCOT fireworks from the room’s balcony.

Disney's Yacht Club also shares one of Disney's most popular pools with its sister resort, Disney's Beach Club. Be sure to spend some time at the pool that features a sand bottom, a massive water slide, and a small lazy river.

4. Disney's Beach Club Resort

Located right next to Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort is a playful seaside escape reminiscent of a New England beach town . Many of the rooms at Disney’s Beach Club Resort sleep five (or even six adults if you book a deluxe room). And its epic pool, Stormalong Bay , is a big hit with families.

EXTRA MAGIC: How to get extra time at Disney or Universal beyond the regular theme park hours

Like Disney’s Beach Club Resort, this Disney hotel is within walking distance of both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as Disney’s BoardWalk , where guests tend to linger for shopping and dining after the theme parks close. I like staying here on weekends when I'm going to be enjoying one of EPCOT's many festivals because I can use the back entrance to the park known as the International Gateway.

5. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Of the Crescent Lake resorts at Walt Disney World, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is a favorite among families large and small. Not only is this the home of the iconic JellyRolls dueling piano bar , but it’s just a short walk to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The adorable resort has large rooms that feature two queen beds and one day bed for those needing a fifth sleeper. When the day bed is laid out, it does make the room feel a little small, but it's manageable for families of five once the bed is converted back into its couch form after everyone gets up for the day.

6. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is iconic for its famed dining locations, spectacular views of Magic Kingdom, and, of course, its newly refurbished guest rooms that are now themed to "Moana." Those guest rooms are adorable with plenty of island colors, a big mural on one wall that’s in the style of Maui’s tattoos, and artwork featuring Moana, Pua, and Hei Hei. Each guest room at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has two queen beds and one day bed, and plenty of storage for luggage.

One of my favorite things to do at Disney's Polynesian Village is book a theme park view room and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks show from my balcony. If I really want to treat myself, I'll also get a Dole Whip from Pineapple Lanai to enjoy while watching Happily Ever After, the fireworks spectacular.

Walt Disney World Villas for Large Families

For those traveling with groups larger than five, consider booking one of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) villas . The villas range in size from Deluxe Studios that can sleep five to three-bedroom Grand Villas that can sleep up to 12 people.

Villas can be booked through Disney , though the rooms are quite expensive. One way to cut down on the cost of a villa is to look at booking through a DVC rental site such as DVC Rental Store or David's Vacation Club Rentals , among many others. On a recent visit to Disney's Wilderness Lodge, where I stayed in the Copper Creek Villas, I was able to get a one-bedroom villa for $300 through a DVC rental versus almost $700 to book the room through Disney.

AFFORDABLE ACCOMMODATIONS: 9 cheap theme park hotels in Orlando near Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld

Villas are generally made available to book through a DVC rental site when someone with DVC points has accrued too many and is looking to sell some before the points expire or when a DVC member has booked a vacation that they can no longer take. It's often a few hundred dollars cheaper to rent a villa through a DVC rental site than booking a villa directly with Disney. Just be sure to look for verified resellers before booking.

If you're looking to book a Disney Vacation Club villa for your large family or group, you can choose villas from one of the 12 DVC hotels, including the popular Disney’s Riviera Resort , Disney’s Old Key West Resort , and Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort . DVC villas book up fast, so once you know your dates and where you want to stay, be ready to act quickly if you find a deal.
