Die besten Schläuche fürs Reisemobil : Entspannt Wasser tanken

Wer Frischwasser nachfüllen will, braucht einen guten Schlauch. Wir haben unterschiedliche Systeme ausprobiert und zeigen Schlauchtypen für entspanntes Wassertanken.

Einen eigenen Schlauch im Wohnmobil-Urlaub dabeizuhaben, um den Frischwasser tank unterwegs wieder zu befüllen ist ein Muss. Denn es dürfte kein Geheimnis mehr sein, dass es immer wieder rücksichtslose CamperInnen gibt, die den Schlauch an der Frischwasserstation für die Reinigung ihrer Fäkalkassette nutzen.

Obwohl beinahe alle aufgebauten Reisemobile über 100 Liter Frischwasservorrat oder mehr verfügen, geht es meist trotzdem nicht ohne nachzutanken. Jedenfalls dann, wenn man auf den wunderbaren Luxus von fließendem Wasser an Bord nicht verzichten möchte. Aufgefüllt wird der Tank am besten auf dem Stell- oder Campingplatz.

Wasserschläuche fürs Wohnmobil – Vorteile und Nachteile

  Muss nur soweit aufgerollt werden wie nötig.   Geringe Durchflussrate, es bleibt immer etwas Wasser im Schlauch.

  Robustes und flexibles Außenmaterial, das nicht durchnässt, kein Knicken.   Für einen Textilschlauch recht schwer.

  Steht auch beim Ausziehen sicher, äußerst komfortable Handhabung.   Nicht unbedingt die kompakteste und leichteste Schlauchbox.

  Leicht, kompakt, automatische Entleerung beim Wiederaufwickeln.   Muss vor Benutzung komplett von der Kassette gerollt werden.

Welchen Schlauch brauche ich fürs Wohnmobil?

Die Entfernung zwischen Frischwasserquelle und Reisemobil ist größtenteils überschaubar. Wer einen längeren Schlauch dabei hat, spart sich aber unter Umständen nerviges Hin- und Herrangieren. Somit ist die Wahl der Schlauchlänge eine Bequemlichkeitsfrage.

Je nach Größe und damit Beweglichkeit des Wohnmobils sollten es aber mindestens fünf, besser zehn Meter sein. Die Beschaffenheit des Schlauchs wiederum wirkt sich auf das Packmaß aus

Textilschlauch fürs Frischwasser

Textile Modelle brauchen weniger Platz als solche aus Gummi. Zudem sind sie wesentlich leichter. Das geringste Packmaß haben sogenannte Flexschläuche. Diese Modelle aus einem gewebeummantelten, höchst flexiblen Innenrohr dehnen sich erst während des Gebrauchs auf die volle Länge aus.

Im Fall des preisgünstigen Yachticon Magic Flex sind das 22,5 Meter. Ist der Schlauch wieder entleert, zieht er sich auf seine ursprünglichen 7,5 Meter zusammen. Textile Schläuche haben außerdem den großen Vorteil, dass keine Knicke entstehen, die einen Wasserstau verursachen können.

Flachschläuche im Womo

Auch Flachschläuche wie der Gardena Classic Roll-Fix und das Modell von Fritz Berger zeichnen sich durch ein kompaktes Packmaß aus. Wie der Name schon sagt, sind sie nicht rund, sondern flach. Während der 3-Kammer-Flachschlauch von Fritz Berger seine Form beibehält, wenn Wasser hindurchfließt, dehnt sich der Classic Roll-Fix aus.

Das hat den Nachteil, dass er vor der Benutzung komplett abgewickelt werden muss. Praktisch hingegen erweist sich das Kassettenmodell beim Wiederaufrollen . Währenddessen wird das Restwasser im Inneren herausgedrückt.

3-Kammer-Modelle

Im 3-Kammer-Modell von Fritz Berger verbleibt hingegen viel Wasser nach dem Gebrauch zurück. Aufgrund der geringen Durchmesser der einzelnen Kammern lässt der Schlauch sich nur schwer entleeren. Auch die Durchflussmenge hängt vom Schlauchdurchmesser ab. Je größer der ist, desto mehr Wasser fließt pro Minute.

Vor allem Camper, die es ordentlich mögen, sind mit Schläuchen, die in einer Kassette oder Box kommen, gut bedient. Neben den beiden Flachschläuchen lässt sich auch die Gardena Classic Schlauchbox sauber aufwickeln. Das funktioniert mithilfe einer Handkurbel, die sich für den besseren Transport wegklappen lässt. Schlauchboxen und -kassetten sind meist mit einem stabilen Tragehenkel ausgestattet, sodass sie sich mühelos befördern lassen.

Nach dem Tanken trockenlegen

Das Manko eigentlich aller dieser praktischen Aufbewahrungslösungen ist das Trockenlegen des Schlauchs. Denn dafür müssen sie immer komplett abgerollt werden. Es ist ratsam, dies nach jeder Befüllung zu tun, da zurückbleibende Feuchtigkeit im Schlauch das Bakterienwachstum fördert.

Übrigens: Dass ein Schlauch wegen zu hohen Drucks platzen könnte, ist nicht zu befürchten. Hierfür reicht der Druck an den Frischwasserquellen bei weitem nicht aus.

Anschlüsse und Gewindegrößen fürs Camping

Am Anfang jeder Betankung steht die Frischwasserquelle. Um den Schlauch an den Hahn zu koppeln, benötigt man in der Regel einen Adapter mit Gardena-Schnellkupplung auf der einen und Innengewinde auf der anderen Seite. In den meisten Fällen passt die Gewindegröße ¾ Zoll. Jedenfalls sofern man innerhalb Deutschlands reist.

Im Süden Europas begegnet man häufig auch anderen Größen. Deswegen ist es immer ratsam, auf Reisen neben dem ¾-Zoll-Adapter auch einen für ½- und für 1-Zoll-Gewinde dabeizuhaben. Hier und da sieht man auch gewindelose Wasserhähne. Dann hilft der sogenannte Wasserdieb . Eine Gummitülle, die über den Auslauf gestülpt und mit einer Schelle angezogen wird, ersetzt das Anschlussgewinde. Aber auch der Wasserdieb hat seine Grenzen. Er reicht für Hähne mit einem Außendurchmesser von 14 bis 17 Millimeter. [11929359]

Review: Armando Simoni Club (ASC) Arlecchino 2 (Magic Flex 18K Nib)

Once again, we’d like to thank Mr. Detlef Bittner of Bittner Pens for lending us this ASC Pens Arlecchino 2 fountain pen for review. His family pen store is located in the beautiful town of Carmel, California, and is well known in the pen shows in the United States. The opinions here are our own and we were not compensated (monetarily, or otherwise) for this review.

Hand Over That Pen, please!

Pam : The pen is a pretty and appealing shape.  The material however is quite busy.  For someone who really enjoys a lot of monochromatic pens, this is a bit of a shock to the system.  The material is unique, and unorthodox in a pen.  In summary, the shape and silhouette of the pen is wonderful, but the material is an acquired taste.

Katherine : I think the star of this pen is the Omas Arlecchino material. However, it’s just not my thing. It reminds me of pumpkin soup. Or the Filipino dessert commonly called “ cathedral windows “. Or fall leaves that are turning. Anyway, reminds me a lot of things, mostly makes me hungry… but just isn’t my thing on a pen.

Claire : I really fell hard for this pen in the short time I had to write with it. I was quite surprised since this isn’t the sort of pen I would normally even bother to try. The barrel is a lot longer than what I normally find comfortable.  I do find the material to be a bit busy for my taste but other than that I like the shape of this pen.

Franz : I first saw the ASC Arlecchino 2 pen at the 2017 LA Pen Show when a friend from the San Francisco Bay Pen Posse bought one and I was immediately intrigued with the unique finish of the pen. Actually, I’m loving the design of the pen and the celluloid material.

This material was part of the Omas stock bought by ASC Pens when the Omas Pen Company sadly shut down in 2016. According to ASC pens, they acquired just enough of this rod stock to create a limited edition of 100 pens to pay homage to the original pen called, the Arlecchino (Italian for harlequin).

The Business End

Pam : The nib itself is a great writer and performs well, as expected.  The nib was very enjoyable as a writing experience.  I did find the nib to be springy in the perfect Goldilocks kind of way.

Katherine : The nib on this pen is… okay. It’s a perfectly comfortable and usable writer, but it didn’t feel unique in any way, nor did it have much character to me. But, if you told me this was the  only nib I could use for the rest of my life, I’d be a little annoyed, but I’d be okay with it. It’s inoffensive. (A glowing review, I know.)

Claire :  I loved the feel of the nib and the overall writing experience of the pen was pleasant.  The nib has a bit of  bounce without being so soft or mushy.  It’s not what I would reach for as a workhorse nib, but it’s great for a little extra pizzazz.

Franz : The Magic Flex nib is such a smooth writer and is quite springy which gives my writing some flair! The black ebonite feed kept up with my writing even when I flexed it a little.

Write It Up

Pam : The shape and size of the pen lends to great comfort for extended writing.  Honestly, maybe it was the nib, or the light weight of the pen, but the pen didn’t leave an impression for me.  It was a comfortable, well balanced pen, but no more, no less for me.

Katherine : This pen was pretty comfortable in the hand for a long period of time. The gentle taper of the body makes it a little more interesting than what I envision a “generic” pen to look like. This also (I think) makes it a better balanced pen.

Claire :  I had trouble putting this pen down when writing with this pen. I was more than a little disappointed when I had to let Pam, Katherine and Franz have a chance to give it a spin.  This pen is not like any of the pens in my collection and really was a lot of fun to write with. I had no trouble writing with this pen for pages on end.  There was no trace of hand fatigue or pain even after a few pages.

Franz : I really enjoyed writing with the Arlecchino 2 as it is light and well balanced when unposted. Writing with the cap posted made it a little too lengthy and I found it unbalanced. (Yes. Shocking, I know!) My only small wish is for the section/barrel to be just a hair thicker to be perfect for my bear paw. But that’s just me.

Pam :  This pen would be quite a show  stopper in any pocket or as a notebook companion with the colorful material and sweet nib.  The clip seems sturdy enough to be kept in shirt pockets.

Katherine : This was another loan from Bittner Pens — so once again, no real EDC usage. But, it seemed well made, and could hold up to every day use. It’s a solid pen that is a comfortable size both to use and to tuck into a pocket or notebook. And the clip feels solid enough to keep it firmly attached to a shirt pocket, if I had shirt pockets.

Claire : I didn’t have a chance to carry this pen with me for a few day, but I can see this being a daily writer in my arsenal. The diameter of the pen is just about perfect for long writing sessions which is ideal for me.

Franz : I was not able to fill this pen with ink and use at my workplace so no real world EDC report. But it’s important to note that it is piston-filled for a nice ink capacity, and the Arlecchino 2 is ready to write with just one twist of the cap.

And I believe my co-workers will see the colorful material and say, “What kinda pen is that?!”.

Final Grip-ping Impressions

Pam :  I very much appreciate the beauty of the pen and reliable writing experience.  That said, I can’t recommend this pen due to the price tag.  Particularly for a pen that didn’t actually leave an impression with me.  I prefer the writing experience of a Pelikan (ahem, Franz-fluence). The material is the only compelling reason to buy the pen for me. Luckily for my wallet, the material isn’t my style.

Katherine : This pen was perfectly usable — decent nib, good size, and comfortable in hand. However, it didn’t shine in any way for me. It was an okay, inoffensive pen, body material aside. In another material, it’s a pen I wouldn’t mind owning, but isn’t high on my list of must-acquire pens. In the Arlecchino material… I’d rather have a bowl of pumpkin soup. Maybe with some chives and a pinch of paprika to round out the colors.

Claire :  Overall, I really like this pen. the only gripe I have with this pen is that the inside of the cap was not polished.  For a pen at this price range, it seems a little bit sloppy to me.    Other than this pen is lovely, though I wouldn’t feel comfortable paying MSRP on this pen.   This brand has access to some of the hottest materials, and they are charging  for those materials.

Franz : I love this pen! I love its shape, its material finish, its springy nib, and the history that it represents. However, I just can’t love its price tag. Yes. I know that it’s a limited edition of 100 pens, it’s celluloid, it’s a “flexy” nib, etc. Believe me, I understand why it costs the way it costs and also please know the fact that I “want” it.  But my heart and mind says, “Hold on, not yet.” Perhaps it’s because I have a few other pens that I also want that has a lower price tag? I know that someday I’ll own the Arlecchino 2, but not yet.

In the past, expandable garden hoses would have been the stuff of dreams. Imagine: owning a hose that reaches the end of the garden, but also tidies away neatly without leaving a coiled mess on the patio.

Luckily, times have moved on, and this Flexi Hose is capable of offering you just that. It arrives in a surprisingly small, compact box, but don’t worry – looks truly can be deceiving.

This garden hose packs down small, but can extend up to 30 m, firmly leaving the days of ‘not quite managing to reach the end border’ behind. Once you’ve finished using it, it will shrink down to 10 m, leaving nothing but an extremely manageable hosepipe to put away. All you need to do is shut off the faucet and spray out the remaining water.

Standard ¾” screw fittings come supplied, which are made of good quality brass, but you will need to buy a connector if you have an older ½” faucet.

The level of power provided by this hose is excellent, especially compared to other expandable models, and it comes with an 8-setting spray head – it’s just as useful for washing the car as it is for watering the plants.

Just two things to note: firstly, if you’re after a fine mister for your plants, you may want to consider purchasing a separate spray head – the mist setting can be a little powerful! Secondly, you do need to have at least 4 bars of water pressure available to get the most out of this hose.

You should also check your water pressure. If you are attaching your hose to the mains it will work fine. However, if your tap is fed from a tank or other water storage system you may struggle to get enough pressure to fill the hose sufficiently for it to expand.

When properly looked after, an expandable hose could easily last for ten years, or even longer. To keep your expandable hose in tip-top condition, you’ll need to:

• Never leave the water running for too long when the hose isn’t being used – too much pressure will damage it
• Avoid completely stretching the hose out when it’s empty
• Fully drain the hose and store it in a frost-free location over the winter months
• Fully drain the hose and store it in the shade when the weather is particularly hot and sunny
• Avoid allowing your hose to drag on hard surfaces

Some expandable hoses are fantastic, while others are pretty shoddy. To make sure that you’re purchasing a quality expandable hose, look for the following:

• An inner tube that has been insulated with at least two layers
• Brass fittings to prevent leaks
• An outer layer that’s made from a tough, abrasion-proof fabric to prevent it from snagging and tearing
• A suitable length for your garden

Yes and no. You can use your expandable hose to connect your garden tap to your pressure washer via its inlet valve. However, never connect an expandable hose to the water outlet point of a pressure washer – the hose won’t be able to cope with the high pressure, meaning that it will more than likely burst.

So long as you have drained all of the water out of the hose, then yes, an expandable hose will easily wind its way around a hose reel. This not only makes it more convenient to use the hose, but also makes storage easy. That said, since expandable hoses shrink down so much when empty and don’t kink when in use, they don’t actually need to be rolled up – storing and using them is easy either way!

While it’s fine to leave your hose in the garden occasionally, it is best to keep it out of direct sunlight. In general, a hose will last longer if you drain it and store it properly after use.

It is certainly not advisable to leave your hose out over winter when temperatures may drop below freezing. If water freezes within your hose it is likely to cause lasting damage.

If possible, store your hose hanging up or on a garden hose reel so that any residual moisture can drain away. Store in a frost-free environment over winter.

Yes, it’s easy to connect an expandable hose to your existing one.

You can buy hose connectors from DIY stores or online. You can also connect two or more expandable hoses together if you need an extra-long hose.

Yes, replacement spray guns are readily available from DIY shops, garden centres, and online.

All of the above products have removable and replaceable spray nozzles.

Yes, you can attach an expandable hose to a mixer tap. However, you may have to purchase an additional connector for it to fit.

• 1 to 1: Cloning can be done by writing the full backup (or the single memories) from the original ECU to the REPLACEMENT one.
• No Clone: A cloning solution is not currently available for this ECU type.
• Not tested: Cloning is not a tested solution in this case. The user can try to write the ORI dump directly into the REPLACEMENT unit but our staff can’t guarantee a functional result.
• 1 to Staff: The cloning can be performed through a Tech Support ticket since both dumps must be adapted by our staff before the cloning.
• 1 to Service: The cloning can be performed through our green coins services, these files will be processed by an automatic service.
• 1 to 1 (IF THE EEPROM IS EXTERNAL AND NEEDS TO BE PHYSICALLY REMOVED): The cloning can be performed by writing the full backup and soldering the EEPROM from the ORI ECU to the REPLACEMENT one. This operation must be performed in cases when a specific EEPROM is not supported by Flex.

Rosatom Starts Production of Rare-Earth Magnets for Wind Power Generation

TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom has started gradual localization of rare-earth magnets manufacturing for wind power plants generators. The first sets of magnets have been manufactured and shipped to the customer.

In total, the contract between Elemash Magnit LLC (an enterprise of TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom in Elektrostal, Moscow region) and Red Wind B.V. (a joint venture of NovaWind JSC and the Dutch company Lagerwey) foresees manufacturing and supply over 200 sets of magnets. One set is designed to produce one power generator.

“The project includes gradual localization of magnets manufacturing in Russia, decreasing dependence on imports. We consider production of magnets as a promising sector for TVEL’s metallurgical business development. In this regard, our company does have the relevant research and technological expertise for creation of Russia’s first large-scale full cycle production of permanent rare-earth magnets,” commented Natalia Nikipelova, President of TVEL JSC.

“NovaWind, as the nuclear industry integrator for wind power projects, not only made-up an efficient supply chain, but also contributed to the development of inter-divisional cooperation and new expertise of Rosatom enterprises. TVEL has mastered a unique technology for the production of magnets for wind turbine generators. These technologies will be undoubtedly in demand in other areas as well,” noted Alexander Korchagin, Director General of NovaWind JSC.
