Silver Cloud is a 134’6″ SWATH Yacht built by Abeking & Rasmussen in Germany. SWATH stands for Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull. The outstanding feature is smooth sailing in rough seas. A&R has perfected this design by building numerous SWATH ships for pilot service in the North Sea, an area known for very rough conditions. The 80′ SWATH pilot boats can safely put pilots on and off ships in seas to 20 feet.

The first SWATH yacht was designed and built for a trailblazing, experienced yachtsman so he could take his family and friends around the world in complete comfort and without the effect of seasickness. Silver Cloud has been around the world twice with owners and guests aboard for all open water crossings including transpacific and transatlantic. Silver Cloud was awarded the Technology Award at the prestigious World Superyacht Awards in 2009

The spacious luxury yacht SILVER CLOUD is a motor yacht. This 41 metre (134 ft) luxury yacht was constructed by Abeking & Rasmussen Yachts (Schiffs-Und Yachtwerft ) in 2008. SILVER CLOUD used to be named Swath. Superyacht SILVER CLOUD is a stylish yacht that can accommodate as many as 8 guests on board and has approximately 5 qualified crew. This luxury motor yacht has a heli deck. Ready for launch by 2008 the recent interior design and decor promulgates the creative modernity in the designing of Kirschstein Designs Ltd & Spectrum Designs.

All conventional displacement yacht hulls are subject in varying degrees to the upward and downward motion of waves. At the heart of the SWATH yacht design is the observation that waves only exist on the surface of the water and that below the surface the water is calmer. Therefore, waves do not affect a boat’ designed with its displacement permanently below the surface. To take advantage of the calmer waters below, yacht builders — Abeking & Rasmussen among them — have developed the unusual looking SWATH yacht.

The New Build & Naval Architecture of Luxury Yacht SILVER CLOUD

The yacht's wider design collaboration came from Abeking & Rasmussen. The formal naval architect drawings are the creation of Abeking & Rasmussen. Motor Yacht SILVER CLOUD received her stylish interior designing from the interior design skills of Kirschstein Designs Ltd & Spectrum Designs. Built by Abeking & Rasmussen Yachts (Schiffs-Und Yachtwerft ) this vessel was completed in the recognised yachting country Germany. She was successfully launched in Lemwerder in 2008 before being transferred to the owner. Her hull was constructed with steel. The motor yacht main superstructure is fabricated for the most part with aluminium. With a beam of 17.8 m / 58 feet SILVER CLOUD has massive size. She has a fairly deep draught of 3.5m (11.5ft).

The Performance And Engines For M/Y SILVER CLOUD:

She subsumes twin efficient CATERPILLAR diesel engine(s) and can attain a impressive maximum speed of 14 knots. The main engine of the ship gives 1100 horse power (or 821 kilowatts). Her total HP is 2200 HP and her total Kilowatts are 1641. With respect to the ship’s stabalisers she utilises Mdi / A&r: Ride Control System. Her efficient cruising speed is 12.5 knots which enables a range of 3500.

Silver Cloud is a custom sailing yacht launched in 2008 by Abeking & Rasmussen and most recently refitted in 2017.

Abeking & Rasmussen (A&R) is an esteemed German shipyard with a global reputation for highest quality custom made motor yachts from 45 to 125 metres.

Silver Cloud measures 40.48 metres in length, with a max draft of 4.10 metres and a beam of 17.80 metres. She has a gross tonnage of 926 tonnes.

Silver Cloud has a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure.

Her interior design is by Kirschstein Designs Ltd.

Silver Cloud also features naval architecture by Abeking & Rasmussen.

Performance and Capabilities

Silver Cloud has a top speed of 14.00 knots and a cruising speed of 12.50 knots. She is powered by a twin screw propulsion system.

Price reduction on Burger's motor yacht Silver Cloud at Bradford Marine

News arrives over the weekend from Whit Kirtland at Bradford Marine Yacht Sales of a $234,000 price drop on his central listing, the 24.38m cockpit motor yacht Silver Cloud .

Built by Burger in 1974 to a design by Sparkman & Stephens, Silver Cloud was refitted in 1996. Accommodation is for six guests in a master suite and two twin staterooms while twin 460hp Caterpillar engines give her a maximum speed of 14 knots.

Lying at the Bradford Marine HQ in Fort Lauderdale, Silver Cloud is now down from $859,000 to $625,000.

Strange Glow Over Moscow Skies Triggers Panic as Explosions Reported

B right flashes lit up the night sky in southern Moscow in the early hours of Thursday morning, new footage appears to show, following reports of an explosion at an electrical substation on the outskirts of the city.

Video snippets circulating on Russian-language Telegram channels show a series of flashes on the horizon of a cloudy night sky, momentarily turning the sky a number of different colors. In a clip shared by Russian outlet MSK1.ru, smoke can be seen rising from a building during the flashes lighting up the scene.

Newsweek was unable to independently verify the details of the video clips, including when and where it was filmed. The Russian Ministry of Emergency situations has been contacted via email.

Several Russian Telegram accounts said early on Thursday that residents of southern Moscow reported an explosion and a fire breaking out at an electrical substation in the Leninsky district, southeast of central Moscow.

Local authorities in the Leninsky district told Russian outlet RBC that the explosion had happened in the village of Molokovo. "All vital facilities are operating as normal," Leninsky district officials told the outlet.

The incident at the substation in Molokovo took place just before 2 a.m. local time, MSK1.ru reported.

Messages published by the ASTRA Telegram account, run by independent Russian journalists, appear to show residents close to the substation panicking as they question the bright flashes in the sky. One local resident describes seeing the bright light before losing access to electricity, with another calling the incident a "nightmare."

More than 10 villages and towns in the southeast of Moscow lost access to electricity, the ASTRA Telegram account also reported. The town of Lytkarino to the southeast of Moscow, lost electricity, wrote the eastern European-based independent outlet, Meduza.

Outages were reported in the southern Domodedovo area of the city, according to another Russian outlet, as well as power failures in western Moscow. Electricity was then restored to the areas, the Strana.ua outlet reported.

The cause of the reported explosion is not known. A Telegram account aggregating news for the Lytkarino area described the incident as "an ordinary accident at a substation."

The MSK1.ru outlet quoted a local resident who speculated that a drone may have been responsible for the explosion, but no other Russian source reported this as a possible cause.

Ukraine has repeatedly targeted Moscow with long-range aerial drones in recent months, including a dramatic wave of strikes in late May.

On Sunday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said the region's air defense systems had intercepted an aerial drone over the city of Elektrostal, to the east of Moscow. No damage or casualties were reported, he said.

The previous day, Russian air defenses detected and shot down another drone flying over the Bogorodsky district, northeast of central Moscow, Sobyanin said.

There is currently no evidence that an aerial drone was responsible for the reported overnight explosion at the electrical substation in southern Moscow.
