Welcome to Yacht Haven Marina
Wilmington Waterfront Promenade Update
Yacht Haven Marina is very lucky to have an amazing onsite restaurant. Overlooking Dock 1, directly across from the Marina office, is Wilmington Shores’ very own Marina Cafe. Owned and operated by our dear friend Sheri Hadjis, you won’t find better food at a better price anywhere in the area. Our marina extends slightly inland to Wilmington, away from gusty coastal winds so peaceful patio dining and tranquil viewing of the beautiful marina, sailboats, and yachts is always in store.
Marina Cafe serves fresh, homestyle dishes daily for breakfast and lunch. Diners can also enjoy daily specials, a magnificent Sunday brunch, happy hour Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and even a specialty menu for your furry friend. (Due to its popularity, reservations are recommended for Sunday brunch). Yacht Haven Marina is also pet-friendly, making Marina Cafe the perfect place to grab some breakfast with your pup before heading out on the water for a relaxing weekend getaway. It’s our go-to spot and personal favorite hidden getaway for a meal, and we hope it will be yours too!

Frequently Asked Questions
The surveyor must be accredited with either SAMS or NAMS and be a member in good standing. While there are different types of surveys, in essence we are interested in the value and condition of the vessel. This will include but isn’t limited to confirmation of hull material and condition; validation of all safety systems, bilge pumps, thru hulls, fire extinguishers, AC and DC systems; verification of vessel’s ability to operate as designed; overall aesthetic condition and valuation.
For Liveaboard applications a pre-purchase survey is required including an out-of-water inspection and a sea trial.
For Non-Liveaboard applicants most Condition and Value surveys suffice, however we still recommend a comprehensive pre-purchase survey.
Liveaboard status is granted on a case-by-case basis. There are several factors, but here are the main ones:
- There must be an opening available.
- Vessel must be 30 feet or greater with an operational head.
- If the vessel is over 10 years old a pre-purchase survey is required.
- Vessels older than 30 years are not candidates for liveaboard status.
- There is a maximum of 2 individuals allowed to live on the vessel.
- There is an additional deposit required and an additional monthly fee.
