Vetrimaaran confirms working with Jr NTR for upcoming film: ‘Won’t collaborate with him for star value’. Watch

Vetrimaaran will collaborate with jr ntr for an upcoming film. he spoke in hyderabad during the promotion of the telugu dubbed version of viduthalai: part 1..

Filmmaker Vetrimaaran , who has so far collaborated with Dhanush on multiple occasions, has confirmed that he will join hands with Jr NTR for a yet-untitled upcoming project. He also said that he won’t collaborate with Jr NTR for the star value but for the suitable content that would require him. Vetrimaaran, who was in Hyderabad on Tuesday to promote the Telugu dubbed version release of his latest Tamil film Viduthalai: Part 1, interacted with the media. As part of the interaction, he was asked about the rumours about working with Jr NTR .

“Collaboration will make sense to me and I will not collaborate just for the star value or the combination value. I will only collaborate for a content that will demand a star like him. So that much I can say,” Vetrimaaran said.

Several fans reacted to the video and shared their excitement over the collaboration. A person wrote, “This will be an epic collaboration. Two powerhouses coming together (sic).” Another Fan said, “Can’t wait for this project to take off (sic).”

As part of the same interaction, Vetrimaaran confirmed that he met and pitched a story idea to Jr NTR. He also added that their project will take time to take off as both of them are currently occupied with their respective assignments. Last year, reports emerged for the first time that Vetrimaaran had met Jr NTR to pitch a story idea.

Jr NTR is currently busy with the shoot of his next yet-untitled Telugu film with director Koratala Siva. Dubbed NTR 30, the project marks the Telugu debut of Janhvi Kapoor. The film will release later this year. NTR 30 was officially launched with a pooja ceremony last month.

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who presided over as the special guest for the program, clapped the first shot and commenced the shooting. Vetrimaaran, on the other hand, is expected to commence work on his next film Vaadivasal, which will star Suriya.

‘Vetrimaaran-Dhanush’s next film to be set in the backdrop of KGF’: Producer Gnanavel Raja

Gnanavel Raja, however, did not reveal more information regarding the Dhanush-Vetrimaaran movie, including if he was producing it.

Vetrimaaran and Dhanush are two of the most promising names in the Tamil film industry right now. With back-to-back films that are turning out to be both critical and commercial successes, Vetrimaaran has already become one of the biggest names in the country. On the other hand, Dhanush continues to excite his fans by coming up with projects cutting across language lines. Now, the star director and actor are reportedly planning to join hands for the fifth time with a movie set in the backdrop of Kolar Gold Fields (KGF).

While responding to a question on what his upcoming flick Thangalaan (Dir. Pa Ranjith) was based, producer K E Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green told Behindwoods: “Vetrimaaran is set to begin working on a film about KGF with Dhanush in the lead. Vetrimaaran’s film will be based on his research and findings about the area, while Pa Ranjith’s Thangalaan will focus on his discoveries. Both films might have certain elements that are similar, but what matters is how they present these things from their respective points of view.”

Since Vetrimaaran’s debut as a director in 2007 with the Dhanush starter Polladhavan, the filmmaker and the actor have joined hands multiple times, also for bankrolling films.

Following Polladhavan, Dhanush played the lead role in three more Vetrimaaran films — Aadukalam (2011), Vada Chennai (2018), and Asuran (2019) — all of which went on to become milestone films in Tamil cinema history. Dhanush’s National Film Awards for Best Actor were for his roles in Vetrimaaran movies — Aadukalam and Asuran.

Kaaka Muttai (2015) and Visaranai (2015) which the two produced had also bagged National Film Awards in Best Children’s Film and Best Feature Film in Tamil categories, respectively.

While Dhanush is currently working on Arun Matheswaran’s Captain Miller, Vetrimaaran’s Suriya starrer Vaadivaasal is in its pre-production stage.
