The Xquisite X5 is the same lines as Rudolf Jonker’s Dean 5000 but completely different molds and a partnership with a different South African yard, Phoenix Marine. Phoenix purchased the rights to the plans of the Dean 5000 in 2013 and asked architect Rudolf Jonker to take up the project and design a completely new boat within the existing lines: the Xquisite X5. They partnered with Tamas Hamor, the owner of a Dean 5000 who ran a chartering business.
The model has since been redesigned again and extended another 3 feet for the X5+. All feature the massive mainsail arch first introduced on the Dean 5000. These are comfortable, very high quality built catamarans at a luxury price point and compare favorably against Privilege, Antares, and Discovery catamarans.
