9 Things You Need to Know About Yachtsman Steakhouse

does yachtsman steakhouse have a dress code

Yachtsman Steakhouse is one of the most popular steak locations at Walt Disney World.  It is a great restaurant for dates and special occasions, especially for the steak snobs out there that want the utmost quality in their steak and preparation.  Here are nine things that you definitely need to know about dining at Yachtsman Steakhouse:

9 – The location and where to find the restaurant.

The restaurant is located at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.  The restaurant overlooks the water and beach area of the resort.  The resort is accessible via bus from one of the theme parks or by boat service from Hollywood Studios or the World Showcase entrance of Epcot.

8 – The atmosphere and views are beautiful.

I absolutely love the inside of the restaurant.  It is a very high-end New England-decorated restaurant with high ceilings.  There is an area of windows that overlook the water and beach area of the resort that almost leave you feeling like you really are dining at a fine restaurant in New England.  I also feel like the restaurant is a little more spacious than some of the other restaurants, which is nice for creating a more intimate feel.

7 – The restaurant is a Disney Signature dining experience.

The Yachtsman Steakhouse is in the Disney Signature Dining collection, which means that the location is staffed with some of the finest culinary talent.  This also means that the restaurant is on the pricey side, too.  Most steaks are in the mid-$50 range. This doesn’t include drinks, appetizers, accompaniments, and desserts.  If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, the restaurant will cost two table service entitlements per person, but it is well worth it.

6 – The menu and theme for the restaurant are right out of New England.

The New England and nautical feel is prevalent right when you walk into the restaurant.  The menu is also a perfect New England steak house menu with high-quality beef cuts, lobster, and other seafood options available to accompany the meal.  You will absolutely love this extensive menu.

5 – There is a dress code.

Reviewing and understanding the dress code before heading out for your reservation is important.  According to Disney’s website, men are expected to wear khakis, slacks, jeans, or dress shorts with a collared shirt.  Women are expected to wear capri pants, skirts, dresses, jeans, or dress shorts.  The restaurant also does not permit tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing, and offensive t-shirts.

4 – You need to make a reservation as far in advance as possible.

Advanced Dining Reservations can be made 60 days in advance of the vacation.  It is definitely a good idea to make your dining reservations as early as you can so that you can get into the restaurant and get the desired time for dining that will work within your plans. This restaurant is extremely popular, and you can book up in advance.

3 – The beef that is used and prepared is high quality.

The beef that is used at the restaurant is grass-fed beef.  It is aged in-house to perfection and then cooked in an open kitchen.  The oak-fired grill is in an open kitchen type of area where guests can get views of the chefs hard at work preparing the amazing cuts of meat.  It will make your mouth water just thinking about it.

2 – The location is only open for dinner service.

There are currently no breakfast or lunch services available at the restaurant.  Dinner is the only service, so if you want to enjoy this location, you will need to plan to dine there for dinner one evening.

1 – Come hungry and save room for dessert.

There are so many delicious menu items that you will want to try everything.  We cannot help but get a shrimp cocktail and then our entrees.  I have to have the House-made Truffle Fries as a side since it is one of my favorites.  Then you definitely don’t want to skip dessert, either.  The chocolate cake is to die for and a great mix of sweet and salty to end the evening.  We always try to skip lunch before we go. That way, we have plenty of room to enjoy the delicious dinner.

  • Formal or Business Attire: The Yachtsman expects its guests to dress in formal or business attire. This means no casual wear such as t-shirts, shorts, or flip-flops. Instead, men should opt for suits or dress shirts with slacks, and women should choose formal dresses or pantsuits. It is always better to be slightly overdressed than underdressed in such a classy establishment.

Tips for Choosing the Perfect Shoes to Wear with a Gold Wedding Dress

When you dine at the Yachtsman, the popular steakhouse located in Disney's Yacht Club Resort, one might wonder if there are any restrictions on clothing or footwear. While it's always a good idea to dress appropriately for a dining experience, there are no specific dress code requirements at the Yachtsman. However, it is worth noting that the atmosphere of the restaurant is upscale and elegant, so it's best to avoid overly casual attire.

The Yachtsman is known for its fine dining experience and is often frequented by guests celebrating special occasions or looking to indulge in a high-quality meal. With this in mind, it's a good idea to dress in smart casual attire to match the ambiance of the restaurant. This could include items such as slacks or dress pants, a button-down shirt or blouse, and closed-toe shoes.

While there are no specific restrictions on clothing or footwear, it's important to note that the Yachtsman does not permit guests to wear swimwear or excessively casual attire such as tank tops, flip flops, or athletic wear. This dress code is in place to maintain the elegant atmosphere of the restaurant and ensure a pleasant dining experience for all guests.

When it comes to footwear, it is advisable to wear closed-toe shoes, as this is generally considered more appropriate for fine dining establishments. Sandals or flip flops may not be suitable for the Yachtsman, as they may not be in line with the desired dress code.

It's always a good idea to plan your attire in advance, especially if you have a special occasion or reservation at the Yachtsman. By dressing appropriately, you can ensure that you fully immerse yourself in the dining experience and feel comfortable in the upscale setting of the restaurant.

In conclusion, while there are no strict clothing or footwear restrictions at the Yachtsman, it is recommended to dress in smart casual attire for a more enjoyable dining experience. The Ultimate Guide to What to Wear to a Baseball Game

Dress codes are common in many settings, from workplaces to schools to social events. They provide a guideline for appropriate attire and help create a unified atmosphere. However, it is important to consider whether there are any exceptions to the dress code for special occasions or events.

Generally speaking, dress codes are put in place to maintain professionalism and ensure that everyone looks presentable. This means that in most situations, there are no exceptions to the dress code. However, there are certain occasions or events where exceptions might be made.

One example of an exception to the dress code is a black-tie event. These events typically require formal attire, such as a tuxedo for men and a gown for women. In this case, the dress code is specific to the event, and it is expected that attendees will adhere to it. Exceptions in this case could include variations on the traditional black-tie attire, such as different colors or styles, as long as they still maintain a formal and elegant appearance.

Another exception to the dress code might be a themed event or costume party. In these cases, the dress code is intentionally relaxed to allow for creativity and personal expression. Attendees may be encouraged to dress in a particular theme or to come in costume. This is a fun exception to the usual dress code and provides an opportunity for attendees to let loose and have some fun.

In some cases, there may be exceptions to the dress code for religious or cultural reasons. For example, certain religious attire may be required for a religious ceremony or event. In these cases, it is important to respect and accommodate the needs and beliefs of individuals or groups.

Overall, while there are some exceptions to dress codes for special occasions or events, it is important to remember that dress codes are put in place for a reason. They help maintain a certain level of professionalism or create a specific atmosphere. When attending any event or occasion, it is always a good idea to check the dress code beforehand and ensure that you are adhering to it to the best of your ability.

In conclusion, dress codes are generally followed in most settings, but there are exceptions for special occasions or events. These exceptions may include black-tie events, themed parties, or religious or cultural requirements. It is important to be aware of and respect the dress code for any event or occasion to ensure a positive and appropriate experience.

What Dress Size Should I Order When Pregnant: A Guide to Finding the Perfect Fit

When it comes to dining at the Yachtsman, one of the fine dining restaurants at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, guests are expected to adhere to a certain dress code. This dress code is in place to maintain a certain level of elegance and enhance the dining experience for all guests.

The dress code at the Yachtsman typically calls for guests to wear attire that is at least "business casual." This means that guests should aim to be well-groomed and wear clothing that is neat, clean, and presentable. Some specific guidelines for the dress code at the Yachtsman may include:

  • No tank tops or sleeveless shirts for men. Men are expected to wear collared shirts or dress shirts, along with slacks or dress pants. Ties and jackets are not required but can be worn for a more formal look.
  • No flip-flops or athletic footwear for men or women. Close-toed shoes are preferred, such as loafers or dress shoes.
  • No shorts, short skirts, or mini-dresses. Women are expected to wear dresses, skirts, or dress pants. Blouses or dressy tops are appropriate.

While these are the general guidelines, it's always a good idea to check with the Disney's Yacht Club Resort or the Yachtsman specifically for any specific dress code requirements or changes.

The dress code at the Yachtsman is in place to create a sophisticated and upscale atmosphere. By adhering to the dress code, guests can fully immerse themselves in the fine dining experience and enhance the overall ambiance of the restaurant.

In addition to the dress code, there are also some other dining etiquette guidelines to keep in mind when dining at the Yachtsman. These include:

  • Arriving on time for your reservation. The Yachtsman is a popular restaurant, so it's important to be punctual to ensure your table is available when you arrive.
  • Being respectful and considerate of other guests and the staff. This means keeping noise levels to a minimum and being polite and courteous to everyone you encounter during your dining experience.
  • Following any additional guidelines or requests from the restaurant staff. This may include instructions on how to order or how to properly enjoy certain dishes.

It's important to note that while the dress code is enforced at the Yachtsman, Disney's overall policy is to ensure that all guests feel comfortable and included. If a guest does not meet the dress code requirements, they will likely be offered the option to change into more appropriate attire or dine at another restaurant within the resort that has a more relaxed dress code.

Overall, adhering to the dress code at the Yachtsman is a small price to pay for the exceptional dining experience that awaits. The elegant ambiance, exquisite menu, and attentive service make it a worthwhile destination for those looking to indulge in a special meal during their time at Disney's Yacht Club Resort. So, pack your dress shoes and collared shirts to ensure a memorable dining experience at the Yachtsman.

Yachtsman Steakhouse Review

If you’re looking for a more elegant and refined dinner away from the Disney World parks, you may think about eating at Yachtsman Steakhouse.  The steakhouse is located at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, which also adjoins Disney’s Beach Club Resort.  Here in our Yachtsman Steakhouse review, we’ll tell you our thoughts on dining at this Disney World signature restaurant, covering the food and atmosphere of the restaurant.

Since Yachtsman Steakhouse is a signature location at Disney World, it does cost a bit more than your average table service meal.  That’s true whether you are paying with cash or using the Disney Dining Plan.  You’ll have to cough up two table service credits to eat here.

As with all things dining plan and Disney World, what you’re eating will determine if using the dining plan is a good value or not.  As you can see on the Yachtsman Steakhouse menu , there is a wide range of cost associated with the various entrees.  Generally, you are going to find the assortment of steaks to have the best value on the dining plan.  If you order something like chicken, then the dining plan is a poor value.  If you’re maximizing what you’re having to eat and getting steak, dessert, and a drink, then the value is much better and probably worthwhile.  Just do your own math!

As for the adult desserts, Carla went with a steakhouse classic (in my opinion) by ordering the Crème Brûlée.  The presentation was a bit different than the normal Crème Brûlée, as you can see.  However, the flavors were excellent.  If you’re a fan of Crème Brûlée, you can order this dessert with confidence.

When it comes to starters, I really enjoy the French Onion Soup , which is perfectly rich with plenty of onions, sourdough croutons, and topped with melted gruyère cheese. You definitely have to try the Beef Carpaccio as well.

Entrees and Dessert at the Yachtsman Steakhouse

Entrees obviously mean having a steak , and no matter which one you choose it comes with a sauce or butter, and your choice of side. I always order the 14-ounce roasted prime rib with horseradish cream.

Each entree comes with your choice of accompaniment, with either mashed potatoes, potato-leek gratin, or house-made French fries. I typically choose the gratin or the fries.

When dinner is done, do not leave the restaurant without trying one of the delicious desserts.

The signature dessert at the restaurant is the Yachtsman’s Chocolate Cake, which is made with dark chocolate mousse, chocolate cake, mixed berry curd, peanut butter crunch, and mousse, and serves two.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is a lovely option for dining at Walt Disney World, whether you’re traveling alone or going out with friends, or on a date night.

Yachtsman Steakhouse Yacht and Beach Club Resort Walt DIsney World (8)

Here are a few tips to ensure your experience at Yachtsman Steakhouse is the best that it can be.

  • Security at the front of the Yacht Club can be very strict about who they let into the parking lot at the hotel. If you don’t have a confirmed dining reservation at the Yachtsman Steakhouse, your better option for dining here will be to take a ride share or take the Disney Skyliner . This is best if you’re staying at one of the resorts that the transportation service goes to and from.
  • I f you’re at EPCOT and want a break from the park and think Yachtsman Steakhouse sounds like a nice place, you’ll want to walk to the back of the park to the International Gateway to get to the Yacht Club and to the restaurant.

Yachtsman Steakhouse Full Review

By Author Ziggy Oskwarek

Posted on Last updated: July 24, 2019

Yachtsman Steakhouse offers a variety of amazing food including some great seafood dishes, but they really specialize in…you guessed it… Red Meat , big juicy slabs of it!  In fact many put it in the conversation for best steak on property .  Being a Signature Restaurant means you won’t find a cheap meal here, but I’ve always found the quality to equal the price.  Also a certain “business casual” dress code is required so I wouldn’t come in a tank top and flip-flops. 😉

Yachtsman’s often gets a bit overlooked because of having to travel to the Yacht Club to eat there and is also viewed as being a bit “stuffy.”  But is that the case?  How does it compare with other Steak heavyweights such as Le Cellier, Shula’s and Jiko?

It’s been a few years so I wanted to do a Yachtsman Steakhouse Full Review.  I’m hoping that the good experiences we’ve had there in the past continue over this time….let’s find out!

Atmosphere:

To get to Yachtsman you’ll need to find your way to the Yacht Club Resort and make your way out to the back by the pool.  You can either take transportation to Epcot, Hollywood Studios or one of the other Epcot Resorts like the Boardwalk Resort, Beach Club or Swan and Dolphin.  To make it easy I would recommend doing either Epcot or Hollywood Studios the same day and then just either walk over to the Yacht Club Resort or take a Boat from the park.

If your coming from along the waterside of the resort then eventually you will run into the Back Entrance of the Yacht Club here:

The first thing you see when you walk in is the Meat Dry Aging Room where the butchers cut and prepare the steaks:

All the meat at the Yachtsman Steakhouse is cut in-house , you you know you’re getting a fresh quality steak, not something that’s been prepackaged.

Here’s the butcher going to work:

Look at that concentration, even with the camera in his face he didn’t look up once! 😉  Here’s a shot of the meat once he’s done cutting it:

Those are some good-looking steaks!!

If you look to the left into the Bar , you’ll start to get more of a feel for the decor.  Pine wood beams line the high ceiling, along with beautiful chandeliers:

A cool feature that’s a part of many upscale Disney restaurants is the Open-Kitchen:

Turn right and you’ll find the entrance to the Main Dining Hall:

Some people complain about the decor, they even find it stuffy or snobbish.  Personally I love the natural wood and soft tones you find throughout.  It’s supposed to be reminiscent of a sea-faring New England town, and that’s exactly what it delivers.  You’re not going to be blown away by the decor, like in a place like Moritmoto’s, but that’s ok because that’s not the focal point here, it’s the food.

The Main Dining Room is a large and open space.  Again more rich colors from the wood:

The lighting in here is excellent, especially when the sun is still out due to the large windows overlooking the Pool at Stormalong Bay.  That’s refreshing as at some steakhouses you practically have to bring a flashlight with you in order to see:

This room is gorgeous and has a great view of outside:

One of the tables in the main dining room:

This is the back dining room and probably the most intimate room at Yachtsman.  If you are looking for more quiet and privacy ask for here:

Or you can ask for one of the booths which are lovely:

Notice the gorgeous, clean light fixtures on the beams:

More typical sea-faring gear lines the walls like this Ship’s Wheel:

Some lovely paintings line the wall….of yachts of course:

Ok, we’re done looking around and we’re ready for the food!

As I already mentioned we came here for Steak, and lots of it, as that’s obviously the specialty of the house.  All the beef is high-quality and grain-fed which is cut and aged in-house and prepared on an oak-fired grill in the open kitchen.  That results in some of the tastiest steak anywhere in Walt Disney World.  If your wallet is feeling full and you want a dining experience you’ll never forget, then go for the 32 oz Porterhouse for Two or the 100% Japanese Wagyu Beef Strip Loin , they cost $119 and $125 respectively, but they will change your life!

Besides steak Yachtsman offers some other delicious options including F resh Seafood like Lobster, Salmon and Shrimp.   Expect to find typical Steakhouse appetizers and sides like Soups and Salads, Mushrooms, Creamed Spinach and Truffle Mac and Cheese.

Like many Disney restaurants, the menu tends to have some staples you can find year-round and then some options that are seasonal, so if you don’t find exactly the same things we had during our visit you can probably find something similar or even better when you go!

Look at these beauties…freshly cut and dry-aged.  It’s going to be so hard to choose….

That 21 Day Dry-aged Kansas City Strip looks amazing:

To start off our meal the right way we ordered a bottle of Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 , ok really 2 bottles but who’s counting?  The wine itself was excellent, balanced with a great structure and perfect for…steak!

They first brought us out our complimentary Bread Basket , this thing was amazing!

The first and yummiest bread was the Onion Brioche-style rolls that were out of this world!  They were pull-apart and had a light, airy texture inside that was incredible!  Look at that inside which I had slathered with butter:

Besides that there were also more traditional Sourdough Rolls that were also delicious:

The Butter Plate here was something special because not only did it have fresh butter with Coarse Sea Salt on top, but each plate also had a humongous Roasted Garlic Clove as well!  It was soooo good and my wife was soooo mad at me for eating it! 😉

Next we had a Caesar Salad ($12) with Romaine Lettuce, Parmigiano Reggiano, Coppa Secca and Focaccia Crouton.  Really is there any other type of salad to be had??

I’m a self-proclaimed expert on Caesar Salads and have eaten my share, but this thing was no joke!  It was a very big portion, even enough to share if you’re into that sort of thing.  The lettuce was really fresh and crisp and the Parmigiano was sliced super thin so you could really taste the sharpness of the flavors.  The dressing is what usually makes the Caesar salad and this one was awesome!!  It’s made in house and wasn’t goopy or sweet.

Next was the French Onion Soup ($12) which had a Sourdough Crouton and was covered in Gruyere Cheese:

This is perfection right here…

Stringy cheese makes me  :))))))))

Since it was nearly impossible to stand within 10 feet of us now after 2 courses a piece with either garlic or onion in them we decided to change it up. We went with the Lobster Bisque ($13) which is made with fresh Maine Lobster, Creme Fraiche, fine herbs and lemon:

We also tried the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail ($19) which had a bit of Old Bay sprinkled on and came with lemon and a homemade cocktail sauce:

Get ready to get your carnivore on, because we’ve made our choices of Entrees and they are sent off to the kitchen to be cooked over that Oak-fired Grill:

First up was the 12oz New York Strip Steak ($49) with a Peppercorn Brandy Sauce and Potato Gratin:

You can see how nice that inside is:

Next was the 10oz Black Angus Filet Mignon ($54) with Mashed Potatoes and a Cabernet Wine Sauce:

Lastly was they one I was really anticipating, the 16oz Prime Rib Eye Steak ($54) covered in Blue Cheese Butter and served with a Brioche and Bone Marrow :

This thing is what dreams are made of!  The very first bite my wife said it’s the best steak she’s ever had:

Being rib-eye this thing was bursting with flavor, then covered in blue cheese butter it made everything so rich and juicy and brought it to even another level of amazingness.  It was a giant piece of meat that we ended up splitting between the two of us:

It was just the right tenderness and melted right in your mouth, especially in the middle.  Just overall awesome and one of the best steaks I’ve ever had!

It was accompanied with Bone Marrow and a Brioche .  Now maybe the idea of sucking marrow from a cow’s bone doesn’t exactly get your appetite going, but once you try it, it will!  The Italian name is Osso Buco and it’s a traditional dish from Milan and my wife goes absolutely crazy for it.  Being the expert she said it compared well to others she’s had before and was very succulent inside.

Lastly we got an order of Truffle Macaroni and Cheese ($12) , because obviously till that point we were really having a light meal!  It was made from Orecchiette Pasta (which means “little ears”), Reypenaer cheese and of course truffles:

There were also a bit of crisped stringy onions on top which added a nice texture.  The pasta was creamy and cheesy but you really have to like truffles to like this mac and cheese, the flavor is very strong.  My brother-in-law was crazy about it, he thought it was really unreal.  I personally thought the taste was a bit too strong, so it depends on tastes.

Of course even though at this point I was so stuffed that I needed to be rolled out of the restaurant, I wouldn’t leave you without at least a taste of Dessert.  I was the only one brave enough to confront it!  I got the Lemon Blueberry Cheesecake ($10) with Lemon Curd and Blueberry Crumble:

Lastly, one thing I haven’t touched on was the service.  The service here was some of the best I’ve ever had at any restaurant ANYWHERE .  We had 2 waiters assigned to our table all night as one was in training and the other was observing but helping him.  At first I thought we were in trouble because of having a waiter-in-training, but he blew us away!  He knew everything, literally everything about the menu and every recommendation he made to us turned out to be true.  I wish I remembered his name because I would highly recommend him to you.  This is what signature dining service should be like!

Overall we had a wonderful experience at the Yachtsman Steakhouse, it was even better than the last time we came.  The atmosphere won’t blow you away, but it’s warm, clean, it isn’t loud and is a nice place if you are looking for a quiet romantic meal.  The food was of excellent quality, the appetizers like Caesar Salad, French Onion Soup and the Lobster Bisque were all outstanding .  The Steaks themselves were unbelievable and do live up to the reputation as being one of the best 2 or 3 steakhouses on property.  Where exactly?  I’ll have to think about it and make a list soon, but Yachtsman is right up there.

I found the prices to be expensive, but in-line with other Disney Signature Restaurants.  If you are a carnivore like me then you will appreciate it and Yachtsman has to be on your list of must-try restaurants in Walt Disney World.  It’s a must do for sure if you are staying at one of the Epcot Resorts as it’s within walking distance from them, and it makes a great date-night location without the kids or for a special occasion.  Try it, you won’t be disappointed!

Yachtsman Steakhouse is a Dinner only restaurant and is open from roughly 5:00pm – 9:30pm Daily .  The Disney Dining Plan is also accepted, it is a 2 Disney Dining Credit Signature Restaurant.   Reservations can be made via the Disney World website or by calling (407) WDW-DINE .

Ziggy Knows Disney close

My name is Ziggy and I love Disney, everything Disney! I grew up on Disney and it has and continues to be a huge part of my life. I started young when my parents took me to Disney World when I was 18 months old. Little did they know that would be the first of an uncountable number of trips we would take. I have so many amazing memories going to Disney with my family and friends and it has been interwoven into my DNA.

I just had that same Caesar's Salad and a prime rib end-cut that was bigger than my head just two weeks ago. I've been going there since opening in 1990 and I couldn't have written a more detailed and accurate assessment of the Yachtsmen than you did. Love that place.

Yachtsman Steakhouse: Fool Me Twice. . .

The Yachtsman Steakhouse is a nautical, New England-inspired steakhouse located at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.

The burnt ends (the best part) were dry and tough – another cue to the amount of time that elapsed between the window and her table. For this kind of money, you expect a perfect cut of meat. This is the dish that had her the most disappointed as she’s had it in the past knew how fantastic it used to be. Both she and Ivonne only had two bites each let it complete its decomposition.

16 oz. Rib-Eye – $59.00 (Second Visit)

Chrissy also got the Potato-Leek Gratin as her side, and while the flavor was good, you could tell from the matte appearance and lack of sheen on the crust that it had been sitting out. It was very frustrating and she can only assume it’s because they’re short-staffed? Ugh.

Land and Sea Entrees

Dry-Aged Duroc Pork Chop – $42.00 (First Visit)

So the flavor was good; but again, the temperature wasn’t right and that put a damper on their excitement for the dish. This is far too much money to be served something you’ll be ambivalent about.

Outstanding!!!! The dumplings were sweet and savory and chewy! It, too, had been sitting out but it was still so good! Chrissy says she would get this again if she ever goes back. The dumplings were puffy and properly cooked and it was so nice to have a plant-based dish that wasn’t cauliflower or jackfruit!

Final Thoughts

There were a few things Chrissy found to be pretty good, but there are literally dozens of other options at Walt Disney World that taste far superior and cost way less. She will visit again in a few months to see if the new staff has gotten into a better groove. This feels more like a Disney staffing failure more than anything else and that makes it more disappointing.

We always try to eat at The Yachtsman Steak House for our special occasion’s. We are eating there tomorrow to celebrate our April birthdays. We have never been disappointed the New York Strip is there specialty and our go to along with the Caesar Salad and French Onion Soup!!! Always amazing and always excellent service. They must of had a rough re-opening but it’s hands down our favorite Steak House along with Morton’s and Ruth’s Chris. I have heard that Charlie’s is very good also but this is our go too.

The Yachtsman once again blew me away last week with three great trips to my favorite restaurant. This place will never be beaten in my eyes. The steak, wine, service, appetizers, onion soup, truffle mac, etc, are always incredible. Now that I won’t be visiting the parks, the meals at the Yachtsman will only improve with the likes of Opus One, Tignanello, Margaux, Caymus, etc.

This was disappointing to read. I ate here in February 2020 and loved every second of it…an experience I’ll never forget.

So, nothing’s changed at Yachtsman Steakhouse! We were there Apr. 2019, Sat. evening before Easter (end of Spring Break)

Truly THEE WORST steak meal I’ve ever had.  We knew we were in trouble when husband asked server if the New York steak was “prime” (a quality GRADE of meat, not a CUT) and she said, “No, the prime rib is over here.” Uh-oh. Server had no business being in a high-end restaurant; she was awful & nothing but attitude.

We didn’t order appetizers, but wanted to share some sides instead.  One side never showed up; the other didn’t come until meal was halfway over, and it was cold & over-salted. (we also had to ask *twice* to have the never-served side removed from bill)  His steak was meh, and my prime rib was so full of fat and unchewable cartilage, I barely got 6 bites total. Discount store quality; 5-star prices Both were cold enuf the “rare” was turning purple & oxidizing, yuck. The manager did make his way to our table, seeing I was struggling, and DID comp my meal, which was the least they could’ve done since it was inedible.  Hands down the worst meal I’ve ever had at a fine dining establishment! I wouldn’t return even if someone else is paying. Sad to hear it’s still same ol’, same ol’

I hope this place steps it up but it seems, from the reviews, it is much the same as before it closed. So many better options just a few minutes away, Flying Fish (when it opens) and Shula’s come to mind.

Hey, we are currently making our ADR's and I was looking over at WDWinfo and noticed this. Proper attire is business casual. Please no tank tops, swimming suits or swim suit cover ups, t-shirts, hats, flip-flop style footwear, or torn clothing in the dining room. Whats the deal there? I mean, could I just wear a Hollister t-shirt and jeans? Le Cellier gave me no issue a few months ago and neither did any other restaurant. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningdetail.cfm?Restaurant.ID=13

Dis veteran.

Yachtsman Steakhouse is a Signature Restaurant. Almost all of the Signatures have a dress code. Le Cellier is now a Signature (since 3/1), but a few months ago it was not. Most of the restaurants at WDW are not Signature, so there is no dress code (additionally the Signatures in parks do not have dress codes). The dress code is very loosely enforced - I think the primary purpose is to deter people from coming in wearing very casual (i.e., swim wear, tank tops, etc.). You'll probably be fine in a nice t-shirt and jeans. I really doubt they'd turn you away if you weren't wearing business casual (except at V&A); it would just frowned upon if you came in looking like you just came from the pool or were wearing dirty/torn/etc clothes. Overall, Signature dining is supposed to be more fancy than regular dining, so they'd like people to dress with that in mind.

You'd be fine with a designer T and nice jeans. You'll see everything there from people dressed up to people in sandals, shorts and a T. It's a nice place, but not a stuffy place - we had 5 kids and 7 adults and shockingly they put the kids at their own table (wasn't our idea either).

Pakey

WDW has a suggested dress code. That doesn't mean they enforce it. The last time I ate at Yachtsman, the man at the table next to us was wearing jean shorts, a monster truck T-shirt, and beat up birckenstock sandals. I think it's sad when the wait staff is dressed nicer than the patrons.

Plain grey will be fine.

That code you posted isn't quite accurate. T-shirts are allowed. Not sure what a Hollister t-shirt is, but unless it is "offensive", you will be fine in what you described.

aubriee said: I've only seen someone turned away twice at a Signature restaurant. The first was at Jiko when a young couple was trying to check in right ahead of me. He was wearing flowered board shorts and a plain tshirt. She had her wet hair pulled back in a ponytail and was wearing a bikini with a very see through white lace coverup. She kept trying to say the short white lace coverup was a dress. They had obviously just walked in from the pool and were both still wet. The second group I saw turned away was at Yachtsman. The lady was wearing stiletto heels, a sequined blouse, and very nice jeans that were ripped all over. She really got into an arguement with the CM asking, "do you know how much these jeans cost?" . They were still turned away with the CM nicely explaining that no torn clothing was allowed even if it was expensive and purchased that way. Click to expand...

LaurenT

The only [lace that will strictly adhere to the dress code is V&A. If you show up there without a jacket or tie, they will lend you one! The other places are very lenient...too much so IMHO. I think if you are clean and presentable, you're fine.... The only warning I ever received on these boards was when I gave my opinion when someone asked if it would be ok to go to a signature restaurant (at a resort) wearing the t-shirt and shorts they had driven all day in from the night before and then spent the entire day in the parks in..... I will not elaborate on what my opinion was....

Kings of Russia

The Comprehensive Guide to Moscow Nightlife

  • Posted on April 14, 2018 July 26, 2018

  • 8 minute read

does yachtsman steakhouse have a dress code

Moscow’s nightlife scene is thriving, and arguably one of the best the world has to offer – top-notch Russian women, coupled with a never-ending list of venues, Moscow has a little bit of something for everyone’s taste. Moscow nightlife is not for the faint of heart – and if you’re coming, you better be ready to go Friday and Saturday night into the early morning.

This comprehensive guide to Moscow nightlife will run you through the nuts and bolts of all you need to know about Moscow’s nightclubs and give you a solid blueprint to operate with during your time in Moscow.

What you need to know before hitting Moscow nightclubs

Prices in moscow nightlife.

Before you head out and start gaming all the sexy Moscow girls , we have to talk money first. Bring plenty because in Moscow you can never bring a big enough bankroll. Remember, you’re the man so making a fuzz of not paying a drink here or there will not go down well.

Luckily most Moscow clubs don’t do cover fees. Some electro clubs will charge 15-20$, depending on their lineup. There’s the odd club with a minimum spend of 20-30$, which you’ll drop on drinks easily. By and large, you can scope out the venues for free, which is a big plus.

Bottle service is a great deal in Moscow. At top-tier clubs, it starts at 1,000$. That’ll go a long way with premium vodka at 250$, especially if you have three or four guys chipping in. Not to mention that it’s a massive status boost for getting girls, especially at high-end clubs.

Without bottle service, you should estimate a budget of 100-150$ per night. That is if you drink a lot and hit the top clubs with the hottest girls. Scale down for less alcohol and more basic places.

Dress code & Face control

Door policy in Moscow is called “face control” and it’s always the guy behind the two gorillas that gives the green light if you’re in or out.

In Moscow nightlife there’s only one rule when it comes to dress codes:

You can never be underdressed.

People dress A LOT sharper than, say, in the US and that goes for both sexes. For high-end clubs, you definitely want to roll with a sharp blazer and a pocket square, not to mention dress shoes in tip-top condition. Those are the minimum requirements to level the playing field vis a vis with other sharply dressed guys that have a lot more money than you do. Unless you plan to hit explicit electro or underground clubs, which have their own dress code, you are always on the money with that style.

Getting in a Moscow club isn’t as hard as it seems: dress sharp, speak English at the door and look like you’re in the mood to spend all that money that you supposedly have (even if you don’t). That will open almost any door in Moscow’s nightlife for you.

Types of Moscow Nightclubs

In Moscow there are four types of clubs with the accompanying female clientele:

High-end clubs:

These are often crossovers between restaurants and clubs with lots of tables and very little space to dance. Heavy accent on bottle service most of the time but you can work the room from the bar as well. The hottest and most expensive girls in Moscow go there. Bring deep pockets and lots of self-confidence and you have a shot at swooping them.

Regular Mid-level clubs:

They probably resemble more what you’re used to in a nightclub: big dancefloors, stages and more space to roam around. Bottle service will make you stand out more but you can also do well without. You can find all types of girls but most will be in the 6-8 range. Your targets should always be the girls drinking and ideally in pairs. It’s impossible not to swoop if your game is at least half-decent.

Basic clubs/dive bars:

Usually spots with very cheap booze and lax face control. If you’re dressed too sharp and speak no Russian, you might attract the wrong type of attention so be vigilant. If you know the local scene you can swoop 6s and 7s almost at will. Usually students and girls from the suburbs.

Electro/underground clubs:

Home of the hipsters and creatives. Parties there don’t mean meeting girls and getting drunk but doing pills and spacing out to the music. Lots of attractive hipster girls if that is your niche. That is its own scene with a different dress code as well.

does yachtsman steakhouse have a dress code

What time to go out in Moscow

Moscow nightlife starts late. Don’t show up at bars and preparty spots before 11pm because you’ll feel fairly alone. Peak time is between 1am and 3am. That is also the time of Moscow nightlife’s biggest nuisance: concerts by artists you won’t know and who only distract your girls from drinking and being gamed. From 4am to 6am the regular clubs are emptying out but plenty of people, women included, still hit up one of the many afterparty clubs. Those last till well past 10am.

As far as days go: Fridays and Saturdays are peak days. Thursday is an OK day, all other days are fairly weak and you have to know the right venues.

The Ultimate Moscow Nightclub List

Short disclaimer: I didn’t add basic and electro clubs since you’re coming for the girls, not for the music. This list will give you more options than you’ll be able to handle on a weekend.

Preparty – start here at 11PM

Classic restaurant club with lots of tables and a smallish bar and dancefloor. Come here between 11pm and 12am when the concert is over and they start with the actual party. Even early in the night tons of sexy women here, who lean slightly older (25 and up).

The second floor of the Ugolek restaurant is an extra bar with dim lights and house music tunes. Very small and cozy with a slight hipster vibe but generally draws plenty of attractive women too. A bit slower vibe than Valenok.

Very cool, spread-out venue that has a modern library theme. Not always full with people but when it is, it’s brimming with top-tier women. Slow vibe here and better for grabbing contacts and moving on.

does yachtsman steakhouse have a dress code

High-end: err on the side of being too early rather than too late because of face control.

Secret Room

Probably the top venue at the moment in Moscow . Very small but wildly popular club, which is crammed with tables but always packed. They do parties on Thursdays and Sundays as well. This club has a hip-hop/high-end theme, meaning most girls are gold diggers, IG models, and tattooed hip hop chicks. Very unfavorable logistics because there is almost no room no move inside the club but the party vibe makes it worth it. Strict face control.

Close to Secret Room and with a much more favorable and spacious three-part layout. This place attracts very hot women but also lots of ball busters and fakes that will leave you blue-balled. Come early because after 4am it starts getting empty fast. Electronic music.

A slightly kitsch restaurant club that plays Russian pop and is full of gold diggers, semi-pros, and men from the Caucasus republics. Thursday is the strongest night but that dynamic might be changing since Secret Room opened its doors. You can swoop here but it will be a struggle.

does yachtsman steakhouse have a dress code

Mid-level: your sweet spot in terms of ease and attractiveness of girls for an average budget.

Started going downwards in 2018 due to lax face control and this might get even worse with the World Cup. In terms of layout one of the best Moscow nightclubs because it’s very big and bottle service gives you a good edge here. Still attracts lots of cute girls with loose morals but plenty of provincial girls (and guys) as well. Swooping is fairly easy here.

I haven’t been at this place in over a year, ever since it started becoming ground zero for drunken teenagers. Similar clientele to Icon but less chic, younger and drunker. Decent mainstream music that attracts plenty of tourists. Girls are easy here as well.

Sort of a Coyote Ugly (the real one in Moscow sucks) with party music and lots of drunken people licking each others’ faces. Very entertaining with the right amount of alcohol and very easy to pull in there. Don’t think about staying sober in here, you’ll hate it.

Artel Bessonitsa/Shakti Terrace

Electronic music club that is sort of a high-end place with an underground clientele and located between the teenager clubs Icon and Gipsy. Very good music but a bit all over the place with their vibe and their branding. You can swoop almost any type of girl here from high-heeled beauty to coked-up hipsters, provided they’re not too sober.

does yachtsman steakhouse have a dress code

Afterparty: if by 5AM  you haven’t pulled, it’s time to move here.

Best afterparty spot in terms of trying to get girls. Pretty much no one is sober in there and savage gorilla game goes a long way. Lots of very hot and slutty-looking girls but it can be hard to tell apart who is looking for dick and who is just on drugs but not interested. If by 9-10am you haven’t pulled, it is probably better to surrender.

The hipster alternative for afterparties, where even more drugs are in play. Plenty of attractive girls there but you have to know how to work this type of club. A nicer atmosphere and better music but if you’re desperate to pull, you’ll probably go to Miks.

Weekday jokers: if you’re on the hunt for some sexy Russian girls during the week, here are two tips to make your life easier.

Chesterfield

Ladies night on Wednesdays means this place gets pretty packed with smashed teenagers and 6s and 7s. Don’t pull out the three-piece suit in here because it’s a “simpler” crowd. Definitely your best shot on Wednesdays.

If you haven’t pulled at Chesterfield, you can throw a Hail Mary and hit up Garage’s Black Music Wednesdays. Fills up really late but there are some cute Black Music groupies in here. Very small club. Thursday through Saturday they do afterparties and you have an excellent shot and swooping girls that are probably high.

Shishas Sferum

This is pretty much your only shot on Mondays and Tuesdays because they offer free or almost free drinks for women. A fairly low-class club where you should watch your drinks. As always the case in Moscow, there will be cute girls here on any day of the week but it’s nowhere near as good as on the weekend.

does yachtsman steakhouse have a dress code

In a nutshell, that is all you need to know about where to meet Moscow girls in nightlife. There are tons of options, and it all depends on what best fits your style, based on the type of girls that you’re looking for.
