motor yacht here comes the sun for sale

HERE COMES THE SUN is for sale

Published 09 July 2024

HERE COMES THE SUN is an award-winning, as-new Northern European yacht packed with every possible apex superyacht feature her 20 guests could desire, yet under the 3,000GT threshold. As such she represents an extremely rare opportunity.

Her extension means she now has a 7m (23ft) pool on the main deck aft and a beach club open on three sides

Already the largest Amels ever delivered, with exteriors by Tim Heywood and Winch Design interiors, she was rebuilt at the Amels yard in 2020-21 with a 6m (19.7ft) extension. This DNV-GL-classed steel and aluminium yacht emerged to universal acclaim as an 89m (291.9ft) yacht with a full repaint and a host of enhancements, winning Best Rebuilt Yacht at the World Superyacht Awards 2022.

The bridge deck VIP suites have their own balconies

There are two new bridge deck VIP suites with 12m-long (39.4ft) balconies. She has a new 7x4m (23x13.1ft) counter-current pool on the main deck aft, flush with the deck to preserve the views, with the bulwarks lowered and handrails added for the same reason.

The sun deck was extended to create a helipad and there is a touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck

The sun deck was extended aft for a fully certified helipad for a Bell 429 or H145, and she also has a foredeck touch-and-go helipad.

The huge beach club has a sit-up wet bar, lounge seating, along with two terraces and a swim platform for sea-level sun lounging

Her restyled beach club covers 120sqm (1,292sqft) and has fold-down sea terraces either side and an extended swim platform with hydraulic bathing steps aft. There is a sit-up wet bar and lounge and cocktail seating throughout the space.

As well as a plunge pool and sauna, the wellness centre has a steam room, massage room and beauty parlour

Forward of the beach club is a wellness centre with sauna, steam room, plunge pool, shower and dayhead to starboard and a massage room and beauty salon to port.

The glass-and-steel elevator serves all guest decks, lower to sun decks

Other features include a glass elevator serving lower to sun decks, and there is step-free access from the lower deck lobby to the beach club.

The bedroom suite on the owner's deck has wraparound views and access to the sidedecks

A private owner’s deck has a bedroom forward with wraparound views and access to walkaround sidedecks and the foredeck.

The owner's lounge and study both have private balconies

There are his-and-hers bathrooms and dressing rooms and both the lounge and study have access to balconies. The saloon also has a bar and a dining room and access to the aft terrace.

The forward sun deck has a raised jacuzzi encircled by sunpads and gym equipment inside and out

Up on the sun deck there is a raised jacuzzi flanked by sunpads and beneath the hardtop there is a sit-up wet bar, dayhead and a good selection of gym equipment.

The main deck has a dedicated tiered cinema

The main deck is home to the yacht’s dedicated cinema and seven of the yacht’s guest suites, four of which can combine to create two VIP sites. All of the aft deck spaces on main to bridge decks have glass windbreak panels for guest comfort.

The central feature of the main deck aft is the 7x4m (23x13.1ft) counter-current pool

Twin 3,000hp Caterpillar diesel engines give her a top speed of 17.5 knots, she cruises at 13.5 knots and has a remarkable range of 10,000nm at her economical speed. Quantum zero speed stabilisers ensure comfort on arrival.

Tenders and toys stow behind shell doors midships on the lower deck

The lower deck garage, with shell doors either side, is home to two custom Yachtwerft Meyer tenders, a 10.5m (34.5ft) limo and a 9.2m (30.2ft) D-Rib, and a 7m (23ft) Super Air Nautique G23. There’s also a selection of watertoys including SeaDoos, SeaBobs and an inflatable marina and waterslide.

The dining table overlooks the main deck aft and the main saloon has huge picture windows

We are very excited to bring to market a feature-packed, sub-3,000GT award-winning yacht of such exceptional Northern European provenance. Asking EUR 199,000,000, she is lying in the Western Mediterranean where inspection is very much encouraged to appreciate the opportunity she represents. 89m Amels superyacht Here Comes the Sun sold

89m Amels superyacht Here Comes the Sun rejoins market

The 89-metre Amels superyacht Here Comes the Sun has rejoined the market with Ian Sherwood and Stéphanie Bosi of Burgess .

The custom superyacht was delivered in 2017 as the flagship of the Amels fleet – a title that she has held for the past six years. She was commissioned by a repeat client with a penchant for The Beatles, who was looking to upgrade from a Limited Editions 212 model Ventum Maris (formerly Imagine) .

Here Comes the Sun underwent a full rebuild completed at her home shipyard in 2021. Core work included a six-metre stern extension courtesy of Azure Naval Architects , the addition of a second helipad, an interior revamp and a repaint. She emerged from the shipyard with a new look, sporting a navy blue hull and ice-white superstructure, and was later awarded a Neptune for Best Rebuilt Yacht at the World Superyacht Awards 2022.

The 2,955GT flagship was built as custom to Lloyd's Class with an exterior and interior from the boards of design royalty Tim Heywood and Andrew Winch . The pair had worked together on a number of Limited Editions projects and it seemed only natural for two Brits to reunite for the flagship build. Though a truly custom vessel, she borrows design cues from the successful Amels series.

Here Comes the Sun is vast, with over 1,000 square metres of exterior space and two touch-and-go helipads – one on the bow and one on the sundeck – that can land a Bell 429 or EC 145.

A two-metre-deep and semi-shaded swimming pool takes centre stage on the main deck and is surrounded by sun loungers and sofas, with windbreak glass to protect guests from inclement weather. The pool was upgraded during the refit thanks to the extension of the hull and is fitted with contraflow jets.

Below is a beach club and bar that now benefits from shell door platforms and an extended swim platform with hydraulic sea stairs. From here, guests can access the yacht's fully-fledged wellness centre complete with a sauna, steam room, plunge pool, massage room and beauty salon.

Other notable work completed during the refit included the extension of the sundeck by 3.4 metres, now home to a forward-facing whirlpool and a gym, and a full interior revamp that saw her original orange tones replaced with shades of marine blue.

Her interior offers over 800 square metres of guest spaces and 2.2 metres of headroom throughout.

Accommodation is for up to 20 guests across 10 cabins with provision for a crew of 27. An owner's apartment occupies the entire upper deck with a forward-facing owner's suite that benefits from a private lounge, office and balcony. Two "extra-large" VIP suites also have access to their own private balconies, while the remaining seven guest cabins are located on the main deck, two of which convert to suites. An extra double cabin on the bridge deck can sleep additional staff as required.

Here Comes the Sun currently houses three large tenders including a nine-metre RIB, a 10.5-metre limousine and a seven-metre Nautique ski boat stored in a central garage. Other features worthy of mention include a glass elevator serving all decks and a dedicated cinema.

Power comes from two Caterpillar 3516 engines delivering a maximum speed of 17.5 knots and a range of over 10,000 nautical miles at 10.5 knots. Quantum zero-speed stabilisers keep her steady at anchor and underway. Her recent refit also included the overhaul of all four Caterpillar C18 generators.

In August 2023, Here Comes the Sun was sold after just four months on the market, with Stuart Larsen of Fraser representing the seller and Antoine Larriq of Fraser introducing the buyer.

Here Comes The Sun is now asking €199,000,000.
