10 things to do on a yacht charter during the Dubrovnik Summer Festival

Dalmatia Region

This is one of the most popular regions for yacht charters in Croatia. Located on the southern coast, its made up of 233 miles of coastline, islands, and reefs, and includes the must-see historic towns of Split and Dubrovnik , as well as hundreds of stunning verdant islands and national parks.

Croatia's second-largest city – its "crown jewel',  Split  has a history dating back to the 4th century. It is also home to the beautiful Roman  Diocletian's Palace , a top recommended destination for your tour.

Split also boasts some of Croatia's largest marinas, and is within shooting distance of the celebrated islands of Korčula , Hvar , Vis, and Brač . Visit the world-famous Zlatni Rat beach on Brač's southern side, or sample the vibrant nightlife and clubbing scene on Hvar, which also plays host to several regattas over the summer season. Further south is  Dubrovnik,  a UNESCO World Heritage site of huge architectural prominence.

Istria Region

Located in the north of Croatia, this region has a distinctly Italian feel to it, and has plenty of fantastic places to visit. Pula, the region's capital, is crammed with museums, which isn't surprising given its history that dates back to 3,000BC.

Across the water, lies the Brijuni National Park , a group of 14 small picturesque islands easily accesible from the mainland. Slightly to the north, the beautiful old fishing port of Rovinj is also well-worth a visit, with its steep cobbled streets and charming piazzas.

Travel south to historic Zadar , where you can enjoy a quiet walk along marbled streets and pine-scented beaches. Further south you will find the Kornati archipelago , a group of 100 or so relatively barren islands and reefs which are perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Croatia’s stunning coastline and idyllic verdant islands have made it one of the most popular regions for Mediterranean yacht charters . To truly experience the magic of this country, here are our tips on the places you must check out when you charter a yacht in Croatia.

Don't Miss:

  • Game of Thrones tour - through parts of Old Town, Dubrovnik where some of the most memorable scenes were filmed.
  • Dubrovnik Summer Festival  - see dramas, plays, classical music concerts and much more.
  • 360˚ Dubrovnik - Michelin-starred restaurant built into the walls of the old town, with exquisite views over the harbour.
  • Diocletian’s Palace  - UNESCO site within the walls of Split’s historic and thriving town.
  • Franciscan Monastery - Visit Hvar’s 15th-century monastery and museum that overlooks a shady cove, and meander charming gardens that feature a 300-year old cypress tree.
  • Plitvice Lakes National Park - one of the oldest and largest national parks in Croatia.
  • Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn) - located on the southern coast of Brač, regularly listed as one of the top beaches in Europe.
  • Blue Grotto, Bisevo - situated in the central Dalmatian archipelago, this waterlogged sea cave has an intriguing glowing blue light that appears at certain times of the day.
  • Pula Arena - one of the world’s six largest Roman amphitheatres, and certainly it’s most well-preserved.
  • Visovac Monastery - situated on a tiny island in the Krka National Park.
  • Mljet National Park tour - takes guests to the area of the first protected ecosystem in the Adriatic.

Avid island-hoppers seeking solitude love a Croatia yacht charter itinerary. Of approximately 1,185 islands just 66 are inhabited, making the unfettered beauty of its isles, inlets and bays ripe for exploration. Among these wonderful islands to explore are the verdant gems of  Hvar , Vis, Korčula , and Brač.

But yacht rentals in Croatia are also ideal for guests seeking impressive designer shopping, exquisite wineries and glittering nightlife in its main cities.

mega yacht kroatien

Culminating from Illyrian, Roman, Venetian, Christian, and Austrian empires all competing for Croatia’s ownership, Croatia is home to an astoundingly rich cultural heritage. This makes for a fabulous yacht charter: from the Venetian palaces and designer boutiques of the jet-set haven of Hvar; to the Benedictine beauty of the UNESCO-listed walled city of Dubrovnik; to the Italian infused architecture and cosmopolitan ambiance of Pula and beyond.

As one of the most popular destinations for yacht charters in the East Mediterranean , there should be plenty to choose from when it comes to luxury yachts for charter in Croatia. If you’re unsure about whether you want to book a motor yacht or a sailing yacht for your Croatian getaway, there are a few things you should consider first.

Motor Yacht Charters in Croatia

Whether you are interested in a small or large motor yacht, or somewhere in between, you should find a Croatia luxury charter that will more than meet your expectations. With a luxury motor yacht you can truly relax; soaking up the stunning scenery, or scuba diving reefs and wrecks under clear aqua waters, or taking a tender ashore to explore ancient Roman palaces and monasteries, as well as sampling the local cuisine and wines.

You should note that berth/slip options in Croatia for larger yachts (over 50m) are limited, however, with plenty of safe and tranquil anchorage spots to choose from amongst the numerous islands, islets, and reefs around this Adriatic hotspot you will be spoilt for choice.

Sailing Yacht Charters in Croatia

The Adriatic enjoys an average of 315 cloudless days a year, and with winds in Croatia generally around 10-20 knots, this can make chartering a sailing yacht a great option to explore the picturesque islands and secluded beaches at your leisure. The winds do tend to get stronger in the fall, so bear this in mind when booking your charter.

There should be ample sailing yachts, gulets (traditional wooden yachts), and catamarans for charter in Croatia, but we do recommend booking early to secure your perfect yacht and desired itinerary.

Gulet Charters in Croatia

Gulets are traditional wooden boats originating from Turkey , but are now widely available throughout Croatia and Greece . These types of boats offer a fantastic and cost-effective alternative to a luxury charter yacht, for those wishing to spend a bit less but still enjoy a fabulous yacht charter in the Mediterranean .

With so many options available, there’s something to suit every type of budget in Croatia. The average prices for motor yacht and sailing yacht charters in Croatia are as follows;

  • For motor yacht rentals in Croatia, prices can range from $32,000 to $1,8m per week plus expenses
  • For luxury sailing yacht rentals in Croatia, prices can go from $32,363 to $582,882 weekly plus expenses

Child playing in the sea during a yacht charter in Croatia

The optimal times for yacht charters in Croatia’s sapphire-hued waters span from May till October. During this time, you can benefit from calmer seas, reliably clement weather, and warm swimming temperatures. Croatia’s peak season is July and August, so expect both higher charter fees and packed marinas in these months.

There are a variety of options, although most yachts charters tend to begin in Dubrovnik or Split in the Dalmatia region, both of which have major international transport links. Another popular option is to set off from Italy or Montenegro and then cruise the Adriatic down towards the Kornati a rchipelago or along the Dalmatia region – encompassing 233 miles of coastline stretching from Krk to Lastovo .

Croatia has numerous must-see destinations and you will be hard-pushed to fit them all in. For itineraries along the southern Dalmatian coast, some yachts may spend a day in port in Dubrovnik – ‘the pearl of the Adriatic’ – before setting off for the picturesque surrounding archipelagos, which include the popular island destinations of Hvar , Mljet, Vis, and Brač . You can either finish your yacht charter back in Dubrovnik or continue on to finish up in Split – the cultural and economic center of Dalmatia.

For yacht charters in the north of Croatia, many like to begin in Venice or Bari, located in Italy’s Puglia (or Apulia) region, before crossing the Adriatic to Croatia's Istria region. From here you can explore the popular island of Pula , with its world-class Roman amphitheater, before cruising down towards Zadar and the Kornati National Park .

Alternatively, you can begin in Porto Montenegro – only an hour’s drive from Dubrovnik – although you may have to cover the cost of repositioning as many luxury charter yachts in Croatia are based in Split.

It’s simple enough to begin your superyacht vacation in a neighboring country before heading to Croatia. For more advice please speak to your yacht charter broker .

sample itineraries

We recommend finishing your luxury charter in Split, Croatia's second-largest city and one of the most popular superyacht hotspots on the Adriatic. Renowned for its pristine beaches and crystalline waters, plus with a vibrant mix of things to see and do, you'll be in for a treat.

Glittering blue marina in Croatia

There are hundreds of harbors, marinas, and ports in Croatia, so whether stopping off in Dubrovnik or sailing to the far side of the Lastovo Archipelago National Park there are sure to be facilities or an anchorage to suit your needs.

There are 56 official marinas along the Croatian coast from Umag to Dubrovnik. Some of out top picks include;

  • ACI Marina Dubrovnik – located within a short distance to Dubrovnik’s historic old town. It has 380 slips and can accommodate yachts up to 60m/196ft. For larger yachts, or yachts not requiring a slip, another popular option is to utilize the international cruise ship terminal quay, which is happy to facilitate yacht charter pick-ups and drop-offs.
  • ACI Marina Korčula – ideal for a stop off at one of the many island destinations on your yacht charter, we recommend this sheltered marine, which accommodates yachts up to a maximum LOA of 40m/131ft.
  • Lumbarda Marina – also on Korčula this marina has slips catering to yachts up to a max length of 25m/82ft.
  • ACI Marina Vrboska – located in the celebrated islnad of Hvar, this marina offers berths for yachts up to a max length of 30m/98ft.
  • Cavtat Marina – If you're struggling to find a slip in the summer, we recommend this marina, which is located to the south of Dubrovnik and enjoys good shelter from all winds. It offers 119 slips for yachts up to a max LOA of 60m/197ft.

Some of the best ports in Croatia are also located in the Istria region in northern Croatia. We recommend;

  • D-Marin Dalmacija – located a few kilometers south of the ancient city of Zadar, which is the largest marina in Croatia with 1,200 berths and can accommodate yachts up to 80m LOA.
  • ACI Marina Rovinj – catering for yachts with a LOA of up to 25m/82ft
  • Marina Funtana – max length 20m/65ft.

For larger berths in the Split-Dalmatia region:

  • ACI Marina Split –  located in the heart of Croatia's "jewel" this marina has recently been modernised, offering great shopping, dining, fuelling and repair services to name but a few, alongside 318 protected berths that can accommodate superyachts up to 90m LOA.
  • Marina Kastela – just 7km up the coast from Split – which can accommodate superyachts of up 150m/492ft in length, with a draft of 8m.
  • D-Marin Mandalina – located in the city of Šibenik, situated between two National Parks within a protected lagoon, this marina boasts 429 slips, and has also been specially developed to accommodate yachts of up to 140m/459ft LOA.

Dubrovnik's glittering blue waters and old port

With its rich cultural and architectural history, along with lush national parks and secluded beaches, Croatia is fast becoming one of our most popular destinations. Therefore, we advise you to book your yacht charter well in advance of your trip to secure your perfect yacht on your preferred dates.

If you leave it too late, the selection of yachts at your disposal will be reduced and you may not be able to explore the destinations you have your heart set on. Plus, finding dates when everyone in your charter party is available can be tricky; the longer you leave it, the more challenging it will be.

Your yacht charter broker will also need plenty of time to tailor an itinerary to suit you, and enough time to book ahead for the nights you wish to spend in marinas. We recommend booking up to 3 months in advance to give your broker the optimum time to organise everything down to the last detail.

Croatia Yacht Charter Q&A

Some important things to consider before booking your yacht;

  • Yachts tend to spend more time at anchor in Croatia, so you need to consider that when choosing your perfect yacht. Ideally, find a yacht that is comfortable with ample leisure and entertainment facilities onboard.
  • Avoid heading into Dubrovnik when the big cruise ships are in town, these vessels can hold some 3,000 passengers and the town can become uncomfortably crowded.
  • You should also be aware that certain zones in Croatia's waters forbid fishing or diving, or require special permissions to do so. This is something you can discuss with your yacht broker, or yacht captain when deciding on your itinerary.

There should be a wide selection of yachts to choose from, so there is sure to be something that suits both you and your budget.

Croatian Gulets, traditional wooden yachts with wide beams that offer spacious deck areas and generous accommodation, are a fantastic and cost-effective alternative to a luxury charter yacht. Gulets are available to charter for around €13,500-€15,000 per week, which usually includes food and up to 4 hours cruising per day.

Gulets are also perfect for family charters, or those who simply enjoy spending their time out on deck soaking up the beautiful surroundings of this stunning region.

Why not visit our yacht charter fleet page for a comprehensive look at all yachts available for charter around Croatia.

Alternatively, you can reach out to your preferred yacht broker , who will be sure to help you find your perfect yacht and itinerary around the dates that suit both you and your guests.

The perfect time for yacht charters in Croatia is between May to October, with average temperatures in the mid to high 20s, calm sapphire seas and endless days of glorious sunshine.

You should note that Croatia's peak season is in July and August, so expect both higher charter fees and crowded marinas during these months.

Most charters tend to begin in the beautiful historic towns of Dubrovnik or Split before continuing on to the celebrated islands of Hvar, Mljet, Vis and Brač. Alternatively, you can begin in Montenegro in the south, but you should note there may be additional re-positioning fees to pay as most yachts are based out of Split.

Another option is to begin your yacht charter in Venice, Italy then cross the Adriatic to Croatia's breathtaking northern region before cruising down the coast to Zadar or Split.

Once you have decided on your perfect yacht, your yacht broker will then draw up the necessary contract; a legally binding agreement between you and the owner of the yacht. At this point, based on the type of contract, you will be required to pay 50% of the cost of the yacht up front, with an additional 25-30% of this base rate to cover additional expenses you and your guests are expected to incur whilst on charter.

For more information about the costs of chartering a yacht, please read our helpful guide:  Yacht Charter Costs Explained , which describes the fee structure in more detail.

Advice for pleasant charter, part ii.

In our previous article we advised you on what to pay attention to when choosing sailing ground, period and company. When you have made those decisions, it is time to choose a boat, acquire necessary paperwork and, finally, check in.

Advice for pleasant charter, part I

Most people charter in summer. In winter, Adriatic Sea can be quite rough, so unless you are an experienced sailor looking for exciting sailing and solitude of islands in the winter, avoid winter sailing – it’s much easier in summer. In summer there are many other boats around you to help you in case you need it, the sea is calmer and the temperatures are high.

Explore and enjoy Croatia – ideas for charter

Nautical tourism certainly represents one of the most attractive forms of the overall tourism offer of the Republic of Croatia. We can rightfully say that Croatia, the land of a thousand islands and a beautiful, indented coastline, is a "haven for boaters".

After confirming the availability of your chosen yacht and your booking coming through, you will receive a MYBA charter agreement. MYBA is the Mediterranean Yacht Broker Association and sets the standards for everyone in the industry to adhere to. With it, we can guarantee you the impeccable service you seek. The agreement will also include any additional charges and taxes that may apply to your choice of itinerary.

APA is Advanced Provisioning Allowance. Paid in advance, it covers any additional expenses you rack up during your charter week. It includes fuel, marina fees, on-yacht meals, water toy usage, services, etc. Per the MYBA agreement, it’s usually in the range of 30-40% of the full price. If by the end of your cruise, you haven’t spent the entire amount, you’ll receive the remainder of it back. If your expenses exceed the upfront paid amount, you’ll have to cover them before disembarking.

From the moment you reach out to us, we work closely with you to determine your wishes and preferences and plan your itinerary accordingly. You’ll have to adhere to your yacht’s possible limitations and heed any captain’s advice. Yacht cruises are subject to weather conditions, marina availability, etc. But we always do everything in our power to reach your utmost satisfaction.

Booking yacht charters right before or already in the season is virtually impossible. Therefore, we suggest you aim to book the preferred vessel at least 6 months in advance to avoid the risk of losing out on it or the preferred dates.

Croatia, with its Mediterranean climate, offers a broad window into when you can visit it on a yacht charter. If you prefer milder temperatures and lesser crowds, we suggest visiting in spring or fall. Even though the summer season sees the most traffic, you can enjoy a cruise outside it just as much, if not more.

Gratuities are not subject to any written agreement, but they are customary. Depending on your satisfaction with the crew and service, you can pay between 10% and 15% to the captain, who will divide it among the entire staff.

In January 2023, Croatia switched from Kuna to Euro. For payments onboard, you should carry some cash with you. As for the other transactions in the country, you can count on most places having an option for card payment. If not, you won’t have much trouble finding ATMs around, either.

The crew understands and can communicate with you in English. Some members are even multilingual, speaking languages like Spanish, Italian, German, etc. If you have any preferences, you may let us know, and we will find the best solution for you.

If you are unable to find a yacht that meets your requirements on our website, rest assured we are here to assist you. Our team of experts is dedicated to continuously updating our database with the finest and most current options available. Nevertheless, if you still can’t discover the perfect yacht that aligns with your preferences, please feel free to reach out to us. Let us know your preferences, and we will go above and beyond to find an alternative option that caters to your needs and offers you an exceptional cruising experience.

Overnight anchoring in serene natural bays is certainly an option, but there are a few factors to consider. Primarily, it is crucial to take weather conditions into account and heed the advice of your skilled captain for safety purposes. Additionally, locating secluded bays might prove challenging during peak season, and maintaining tranquility after midnight is expected. If planning a large celebration, it is advisable to inform the captain beforehand to preempt any potential complications. Anchoring in bays offers a delightful opportunity for morning swims and delightful dinners beneath the stars, yet it is suggested to converse with your captain and arrange for dinner instead of lunch when opting for a half-board package.

FULL YACHT CHARTER REVIEW

Inspected by us..

Come and fly away on the aquatic wings of your yacht charter and experience a fairy-tale-like sunset, unique only to the Croatian Adriatic sea. INSIEME yacht charter is a yacht that was built in 2009, but was refitted numerous times, more recently in 2020, and 2022, making her ready for a busy and fruitful charter season.

She will be your guide into the incredible beauty and natural diversity that is the Croatian Adriatic sea in all of its glory.

Built by the renowned Princess Yachts , this 26-meter luxurious leisure vessel can guarantee an incredible range of yacht amenities, as well as comfortable furnishings and stylized design, both in the interior and the exterior of the yacht.

Since INSIEME yacht charter is fitted with both underway and at anchor stabilizers, this fabulous vessel guarantees sound and stable sleep for all her guests, regardless of outside weather conditions. When it comes to sleeping arrangements, INSIEME yacht charter can house up to 8 guests in 4 well-appointed cabins, which are comprised of 3 double and 1 twin cabin.

Caring for the comfort and satisfaction of the guests will be the job of 4 members of the crew, who are both professional and experienced enough to provide a service that is up to par with the luxury standard of a yacht charter.

On the other hand, INSIEME`s yacht amenities will provide numerous interesting and enjoyable ways of spending your time aboard. There are a number of different sunbathing options, as well as the unavoidable sundeck jacuzzi.

The jacuzzi is always a favourite among charter guests and it is not hard to tell why, when you assume a comfortable position inside the bubbly heaven, just as the sun begins to set. Besides the magnificent spectacle of colours and your crew serving champagne, life can hardly get any better, but there is always room for improvement.

Let your crew create a perfect jacuzzi atmosphere, adding scented candles, your favourite music, and a varied selection of Michelin-level canapes, to complete the ideal luxury experience, only possible if you charter a yacht in the Croatian Adriatic sea, with the help of SuperYachts Croatia.

There will be plenty of time to explore as much of the Adriatic coast as you like, because INSIEME yacht charter can cruise at an above-average speed of 19 knots, reaching full speeds of about 30 knots. This kind of speed is more than enough to check every box on your busy charter itinerary, and still have time to experience something off the list. If this is the case, rely on the local know-how of your native charter crew, who will gladly disclose local secrets, in form of beautiful hidden beaches or astounding diving and snorkeling locations.

A DAY ON THE YACHT

As you walk up the dock in a Croatian marina, searching for INSIEME yacht charter and pondering the next week-or-so of an exciting yachting holiday in Croatia, you will surely be impressed by the exterior profile of your yacht charter, once you first spot her from afar.

She will imbue you with a sense of stability and utter surety, as well as comfort and performability, with her sleek hull and elegant superstructure.

Your charter crew will be awaiting your arrival on the dock with perfectly-chilled champagne, cold strawberries, and icy towels, so your vacation can start in a way fitting for a yacht charter holiday.

As the crew take your baggage onboard, talk to the stewardess about which guest will sleep in which cabin – it is common for families with children to place their kids in the twin bunk cabin, with the rest of the parents dividing the double cabins. Either way, when everyone is satisfied, the stew will showcase the sundeck, which will be one of your favourite places aboard INSIEME yacht charter.

This is because it provides a second alfresco dining option, as well as plenty of places to sunbathe AND a jacuzzi, all on a yacht under 30 meters, which is a really amazing feat – you get more than you bargained for if you decide to book INSIEME yacht charter.

Sit down at the sundeck alfresco dining table just as INSIEME starts to heat up her engines- the captain will be sailing off shortly, so this is a perfect time to instruct him on a specific course or let the local know-how of your crew take to only the most beautiful places, reserved only for the locals who know their exact location.

Your captain might suggest cruising to the ancient walls of Dubrovnik in the south Adriatic sea or exploring the island of Korčula and its neighbouring isle of Lastovo, which is also a Natural Park.

If you are hungry, there are plenty of food options available, like sushi or canapes, but the main delight will arrive at lunchtime, made with love and care by your Michelin-level chef. Let your crew open a bottle of excellent Croatian white wine, that will go splendid with tuna tartare with tartar sauce, followed by a grilled salmon with spinach, balsamic vinegar and thyme. For dessert, you can ask for something similar to an almond and coconut cake, with sweet lime syrup.

Filling up on this food will not weigh you down, so you can be ready to hit the water in a matter of minutes. Take full advantage of both the clarity and the cleanliness of the Croatian Adriatic sea and the multitude of different water toys available on INSIEME yacht charter. Listen to the safety tips of your expert crew and spend hours of fun in the water, exploring the seabed or flying above the waves.

Either way, adrenaline and excitement will not be lacking, but for those inclined towards a more relaxed way of spending time, the sunbathing matrasses on INSIEME`s sundeck are an excellent choice if you want to work on your tan. If you want to gather the entire charter party for a joint activity, tell your crew to organize a beach picnic on a private and secluded beach. Plenty of champagne and snacks will keep you full until dinner, while you explore your chosen beach.

On the other hand, you could find a comfortable place under the shade of pine trees and take a nap – truly a genuine indication of an excellent holiday.

As you spend your day in relaxing activities, you will be surprised at how time flies; seemingly unnoticed, the sun begins to set, signalling that it is almost time for dinner. Return to your cabin and prepare your evening attire, before you choose where you want to dine. The sundeck is excellent if you want to enjoy a beautiful view, but a more traditional choice of the main deck offers a chance for an aperitif in the interior salon. Either way, dinner will be served where you want it.

As with lunch, the chef will astound you with the quality of the food being served, as well as the presentation and the plating. Starting with hand-made guacamole served with homemade pita bread, you will surely enjoy pork tenderloins with sweet mashed potato and fried bacon bits, finishing off with hand-made vanilla ice cream with mascarpone cream.

In the evening, after your dinner, you could plan a night around your yacht charter. Consider imitating locals, who simply love to skinnydip in the evening, or just go out for a nice and relaxing swim. This could be somewhat problematic because the sea can be intimidating in the evening; unless your yacht was fitted with underwater LED light, and luckily, INSIEME yacht charter just has that kind of amenity.

Turn the underwater lights on and enjoy the instant transformation: the sea around your yacht charter will glow in a warm blue-ish light, which will seem like your personal pool, right in the middle of the sea. Since your hardworking crew will constantly keep an eye out for your safety, there is no reason why not to experience this unique feature of your yacht, firsthand.

Afterwards, warm yourself up in the sundeck jacuzzi, alongside excellent hand-made cocktails, which will be provided by your loving crew.

YACHT CHARTER DINING

Every successful charter story starts with fantastic food, and a Croatian yacht holiday on INSIEME yacht charter will be no different. Your chef will dedicate his heart and soul, as well as his knowledge and experience, to presenting only food that is up to par with Michelin standards.

This means that all raw ingredients will have an eco-friendly certificate, as well as a purely organic origin. Your chef will provision at farmer`s markets, as well as visit fishing boats in the break of dawn, to acquire only the freshest fish.

Applying his great knowledge and skill, the chef will transform these excellent ingredients into incredible, mouth-watering delicacies, worthy of a yacht charter holiday in Croatia. Dishes like special Croatian cheese from Pag island and salted prosciutto dried on winter Bora winds, Adriatic tuna steak with black beans, parmesan cheese and steamed vegetables or a traditional Croatian apple strudel, made by following centuries-old recipes.

The galley aboard INSIEME yacht charter is capable of delivering incredibly delicious dishes, thanks to modern appliances and smart use of space and storage. When an expert chef is handed a high-tech and well-equipped galley, you can expect nothing less than Michelin-level quality of food.

This includes dishes like sea bass carpaccio with rosemary and tomato and olive oil drizzle or a smoked salmon prepared with sage hazelnut butter, roasted carrots and hand-made yoghurt. Whatever your preferred style of cuisine might be, know that you will eat only your favourite foods during your yacht charter vacation in Croatia.

YACHT MAIN DECK

Since INSIEME yacht charter is a Princess-made yacht, she hides many innovative deck solutions and smart interior design features, that will enable this yacht to provide the same type of service as do yachts of 35+ meters.

When stepping onto INSIEME yacht charter, you will be greeted by your crew on the main deck aft with a welcoming glass of champagne, next to the alfresco dining table. This will be a perfect place for future alfresco dining experiences, mostly due to the huge fold-out table and a comfortable lounge sofa, stretching the length of the stern. Another feature on the main deck aft is a foldable bimini canvass, which can protect the entire main deck aft from the sun, while also enabling unobstructed airflow.

From the aft portion of the main deck, you can walk around the entire length of the deck and reach the bow sundeck.

FRONT SUNDECK

This area is perfect for relaxing in the sun and enjoying the unobstructed views of the turquoise Adriatic sea. Just in front of the helm windshield, guests can sit and relax in a charming lounging nook, in form of a long sofa moulded into the superstructure frame and a compact coffee table.

This coffee table serves as a connection for the forward-facing sun mattresses, which are a crucial part of the whole arrangement, allowing guests to be part of a bigger group. While your friends are drinking their cocktails sitting down, you could be exchanging jokes and sunbathing simultaneously. These kinds of innovative sundeck solutions are what make Princess Yachts one of the best builders of luxury yachts in the world.

Yacht charter accommodation: main salon & dining area

Returning from the front sundeck back to the main deck aft, guests can use the starboard staircase to climb up to the flybridge or enter into the interior main deck salon, but not before one last drink at the exterior bat, right next to the entrance to the salon.

Entering the interior, be swept off your feet by the ingenuity and beauty of the interior design aboard INSIEME yacht charter. The portside of the salon is reserved for a big lounge arrangement, consisting of 2 L-shaped sofas with a cabinet connecting them in the middle and a very wide coffee table in the centre.

Feel the light atmosphere of the salon, thanks to big windows that illuminate the entire space and soft colours that complement the natural vibe of the space. Beige and white tones are dominant in the decor, with soft gray carpets and creme ceiling leather panels.

The starboard side is reserved for the pop-up Tv, which transforms this space into a potential entertainment centre, best used for watching family movies or your favourite sports game. Forward from the sofa lounge area is the interior salon dining table. Since the galley is right next to the dining area, expediting food and beverages will be swift and easy for the crew, and enjoyable for the guests.

There is a second staircase, leading up the flybridge, located opposite the dining table, on the starboard side. From this staircase, guests arrive at the bow of the main deck and the interior helm station. There is a small dinette in the portside corner of this area, where you can chat with members of your crew about the best places to visit in Croatia.

YACHT FLYBRIDGE

Guests can access the flybridge either via the starboard staircase on the main deck aft or the interior staircase, across the salon dining table on the main deck. Once you are standing on INSIEME`s flybridge, it will not be difficult to conclude why this is the favourite place among charter guests.

The aft section of the flybridge carries the tender; once the tender is launched with the hydraulic crane, lots of space opens up to be used as a surface for staying active on your charter holiday, by letting your crew improvise a yacht gym or hiring a yoga instructor for some enjoyable yoga exercises.

Forward from the aft section of the flybridge, on the portside, is a very smart jacuzzi+sunpad combo, with the sun pads half-encircling the jacuzzi, which is placed centerline. This solution allows for plenty of legroom and for good communication between the aft and bow portions of the flybridge, while still providing an enviable level of luxurious comfort. A fully-functioning wet bar is located starboard, which will be your go-to place for cocktails and champagne, while spending time in the comforts of the jacuzzi.

Let your dedicated charter crew pamper you, always making sure your glass is full and you have something to nibble on. Across the bar, on the portside, is a second alfresco dining option, consisting of a C-shaped sofa and a coffee table, with movable chairs on the opposite side of the table. On the bow of the flybridge is the exterior helm station, a perfect place to stand and look at the horizon, as INSIEMENE yacht charter cruises towards new adventures.

YACHT LOWER DECK

All the guest`s accommodations on INSIEME yacht charter are located on the lower deck and are made up of 1 master stateroom, 1 VIP cabin, 1 double cabin and 1 twin cabin with bunk beds.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: The master stateroom

The master stateroom is located amidship on the lower deck, enabling the floor plan to be full-beam. This means that the master aboard INSIEME yacht charter can compete with cabins on much bigger yachts, thanks to smart design and clever use of space.

There is a full-sized walk-in closet on the port side and a long work table next to it, excellent for either reading, writing, answering emails or applying make-up. The centrally-placed king-sized berth has a nightstand on either side and will provide comfortable rest during the entire span of your yacht charter holiday in Croatia.

The ensuite is also very generous in size, incorporating a double sink, with a bidet, a head and a big shower cabin. The decor of the ensuite is stunning: a black marble sink countertop with a black mosaic made up of polished stone squares.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: The VIP cabin

The VIP cabin is placed in the bow of the lower deck, ensuring a high level of privacy, as well as good sound insulation from the engines. Beige matte wood cabinetry, complemented by daylight, adorns the walls on either side of the berth, providing plenty of storage.

There are sloped walls and plenty of portholes on both sides, ensuring that the cabin stays filled with natural light throughout the day. A walk-in wardrobe on the portside and an ensuite bathroom on the starboard side ensure that the VIP cabin offers everything a guest should need on their holiday.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: The double cabin (convertible)

The double cabin aboard INSIEME yacht charter is a convertible, meaning guests can choose one queen-sized berth or two regular twin berths, depending on the convenience of the guests and the charter party.

When it comes to design, light brown cabinetry and plenty of storage space enable a pleasant stay for any guest who will find their accommodations in the convertible double cabin aboard INSIEME yacht charter.

There are 2 portholes on the starboard side which ensure this cabin stays bathed in light during the day, with smartly integrated LED lights providing soft and welcoming illumination during evenings.

Yacht Charter Accommodation: The twin cabin

Decorated similarly to the rest of the cabins aboard INSIEME yacht charter, the twin is a snug cabin, equipped with everything needed for a prolonged charter holiday in Croatia. Since the twin berths are arranged in a bunk combination, this accommodation suits children the best, because they can appreciate this fun and unusual sleeping arrangement. The twin is even equipped with a regular-sized closet, as well as an ensuite bathroom.

YACHT BEACH CLUB & SWIMMING PLATFORM

The beach club and swimming platform are connected with the main deck aft with double staircases, one on either side of the hull. This enables a smooth flow of communication and traffic between the decks, effectively transforming the entire aft section of INSIEME yacht charter into one big beach club.

There is enough space for several guests to swap between water toys without causing any jams, while still enjoying cocktails, prepared by your loving crew. The swimming platform usually carries the jet ski, but once the jet ski is launched, the area transforms into one wide space, ideal for developing a personal connection with the turquoise Croatian Adriatic sea.

Sit on the edge of the swimming platform with your feet in the refreshing sea and chit-chat with members of your charter party that are either playing with water toys or just taking a refreshing dip, before continuing with their sunbathing session. If you do not mind leaning back against the hull of INSIEME yacht charter, you can also enjoy a sunbathing session on the swimming platform.

YACHT WATER TOYS & WATER SPORTS

You can expect to experience different levels of thrill and enjoyment on the water, with the aid of INSIEME`s water toys. Starting with 8 sets of snorkeling equipment, which is enough for every member of your charter party to gear up and undertake an expedition of exploration along the shoreline of some quaint Croatian island.

Prepare to discover numerous aquatic treasures, hidden in the lively seabed, like fish schools of different sizes and colours, as well as starfish, sea urchins and sea cucumbers – even bio-luminescent plankton in the evenings.

The Croatian Adriatic sea welcomes all explorers with its warm waters which allow snorkelers to enjoy longer periods of time underwater. There are also 2 Sea bobs, which can be combined with the snorkeling gear to create magnificent underwater experiences similar to flight. Explore the azure seabed by moving like a fish, thanks to your electrically-powered Sea bob and discover first-hand all the wonders hidden beneath the waves.

For a swifter and more thrilling ride, opt for the jet ski or waterskis, both of which will provide enjoyment and excitement for any charter guests who will dare to climb aboard and be swept away by the call for adventure on the high seas.

Finally, two stand-up paddleboards will be a good counterweight to the speed and thrill of the jet ski or the waterskis – flow softly and slowly through the water and experience the true meaning of “meditative”; paddle on the still surface of the sea and let your body and mind harmonize, thanks to the rejuvenating effect of the Adriatic.

Best Time to Charter: late May through mid-September

With its hot, sunny days and mild water temperatures, the summer months of July and August are the most popular months for yacht charters in Croatia. Average temperatures range from the mid-to-high 20s °C / 77-86°F, with the potential to get as high as the 30s °C / 80s or 90s°F. Hvar tends to get the most sun – a record 2,700 hours of sun each year – followed by Split, Korcula, and Dubrovnik.

Bringing together the great summer weather with a tad less heat, late May, June and September offer some of Croatia’s best weather. If sailing is your main concern, these months are where you’ll get a chance to experience the westerly “Maestral” wind: a refreshing summer wind that blows in from the sea, typically strongest during the early afternoon. May, June, and September also promise fewer crowds than the height of summer.

Why Charter a Yacht in Croatia?

Brac Island Zlatni Rat beach

You could go anywhere on your vacation, but why not pick a destination that provides historic attractions, rich culture, and beautiful landscapes? There are many reasons to fall in love with Croatia, and here are some of our favorites.

Delicious Local Cuisine

Influenced by various cultures, traditional Croatian cuisine is a product of both the country’s history and location. Despite regional differences, however, gastronomy across all of Croatia has some basic elements in common: locally sourced, grilled to perfection, freshly baked, and utterly delicious.

Undiscovered Charm

Though popular for both its location and natural beauty, the country is still somewhat uninhabited compared to other seaside destinations, making it the perfect place to roam with a crewed yacht charter to Croatia. Croatia is one of the world’s hidden treasures, which gives it a special charm. Discover its mysteries when you explore its beautiful shores aboard your private vessel.

Welcoming Inhabitants

A peaceful escape steeped in historical wonder, Croatia is filled with people who appreciate the country for all it’s worth. They love to share their beautiful country with the world, welcoming visitors to immerse themselves in the local customs.

Plentiful Historic Sites and Landmarks

From ancient stone walls and town squares to pebbled beaches, and the Blue and Green grottoes to expansive vineyards to Odysseus Cave, Croatia is dotted with significant landmarks and perfect photo ops everywhere you turn.

More Than 1,000 Islands

If you truly want to unveil Croatia, yacht charter ventures are the way to go; you can hop from island to island and discover new things on each one since every island is so diverse. If it’s natural beauty you seek, head to Vis Island. For an adventure steeped in tourism, try Dubrovnik or Split for a more modern experience. Whatever you crave, Croatia has a place where you can find it in a way that is unique to the Adriatic Sea.

Crystal Clear, Calm Waters

The sparkling, sapphire blue waters of the Adriatic Sea are just as inviting as the islands’ inhabitants. Wade into calm waters, kayak to its remote islands, or dive to its most spectacular sites, such as the Blue Grotto, which is magical in and of itself. Or just enjoy floating on your charter boat: Croatia offers spectacularly beautiful waters and amazing sunsets that can be enjoyed from your ship’s deck with ease.

This transformation has been fueled by significant investments in infrastructure, services, and amenities tailored to the needs of luxury yacht charterers. We now have a Croatian coast full of  luxury marinas offering berthing for large vessels, as well as other facilities directed at the luxury charter industry.

Cheaper & Less Crowded

One of our biggest emphases on Croatia yacht charters is that it is both cheaper and less crowded compared to other popular yachting destinations in the Mediterranean. While we are seeing prices of luxury motor yachts and catamarans slowly climbing, Croatia still maintains a notable price difference of 15%-25% in most niches, compared to other destinations.

Additionally, we highlight the country’s lower VAT rates on charters, set at just 13% for weekly charters, contribute to its cost-effectiveness.

Allowing Charter Groups of 12-25 Guests

Croatia’s legislation is uniquely accommodating to larger groups, allowing us to offer luxury yacht charters and Gulets with 12-25 guests —a rarity within the European Union. The only other destination that allows for group charters of this size is Turkey.

This flexibility opens up opportunities for larger gatherings, whether it be extended family vacations, corporate retreats, or special celebrations, all within the picturesque backdrop of Croatia’s cruising ground.

Croatia,

Over 1000 Islands & many UNESCO Sites

With over 1000 islands and a magnificent coastline packed with historical towns, there is no shortage of wonderful anchorages to be explored. Croatia offers opportunities for a wide range of itineraries suiting all kinds of charter vacations whether it be with family, a partner, or a group of friends.

The country is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites , including iconic landmarks such as Dubrovnik’s Old Town, Diocletian’s Palace in Split, and the historic city of Trogir.

TYPES OF YACHT Charters in Croatia

The following are the main categories of yachts available for charter in Croatia: luxury yachts, motor yachts, power catamarans, sailing yachts, and more. You can choose from various crewed yacht charter options within these categories. All yacht charters are customizable in terms of charter itineraries, onboard services, and activities, to suit the preferences of each client.

Luxury Yachts

WHAT TYPE OF CHARTER YACHT SHOULD I GET?

For those opting for ultimate luxury and speed , we always recommend chartering a Motor Yacht in Croatia. The Dalmatian Coast is home to Croatia’s largest marina, accommodating large motor yachts and super yachts with ease. Docking at Dalmacija Marina among many of Croatia’s finest Yachts, is a remarkable experience in itself.

The Motor Yachts in our catalogs are typically locally owned , and often captained by the owner himself or the owner’s son. This is a huge benefit guaranteeing a top charter experience based on extensive experience and local knowledge . When you book your Motor Yacht Charter with us, you can be sure that you are in the best hands.

There are several reasons for catamarans’ growing popularity in Croatia, one of which is their benefits in comfortable cruising. Catamarans are stable and graceful on the water and we therefore often recommend them for people who suffer from seasickness .

Their efficient design makes them noticeably faster than most sailing monohulls and their shallow draft is a significant advantage allowing for navigating in shallow waters and the option to anchor much closer to the beach. Lastly, catamarans are great for their roomy living quarters making them ideal for corporate team-building events, family charters, or a summer vacation with a group of friends.

Map Route 1 (1 Week)

Location Descriptions

Our base Veruda is located on the southern tip of Istria in one of the most sheltered bays of the Adriatic, right next to the historic town of Pula. The Marina has all the amenities and a large pool that shortens the time to check-in.

If you start your holiday from our base Veruda, you should definitely make a short detour to Pula at the beginning or end of your journey.

Veruda

At its southern end, the peninsula of Istria is cut by a seven-kilometer-long bay, in which are again small bays and peninsulas. And here lies Medulin, a lively resort whose mostly sandy seabed only drops off shallowly - ideal for families with children.

Medulin

In any case you should include the idyllic island of Cres in your trip. A circumnavigation of the island of Cres is well feasible, including the islands of Rab in the east and Krk in the northeast. Driving on the west coast of Cres, the island of Lošinj with the neighboring islands Ilovik, Susak and Unije in the south to southwest and the coast of the Istrian peninsula in the northwest is a nice trip with lots of nature, towns and villages, history and clear water.

  • Cres: The place Cres is already worth seeing. The town today is made up of the medieval harbor, many Gothic and Renaissance churches, monasteries, ruins of the city fortress and palaces of aristocratic families. The old town of Cres consists of a dense core of colorful houses, built together and interconnected. Numerous churches and monasteries await you in and around Cres. From an insider tip the small Lubenice, perched on a rock 378 m above the sea, developed to one of the most popular destinations in the area of Cres.
  • Osor: The city of Osor is located on the island of Cres right on the narrow navigation channel Kavada, which separates the islands of Cres and Losinj with a swing bridge. From antiquity to the 15th century, Osor, due to its location, was the capital city of Cres and Losinj. For culturally interested people, Osor has a lot to offer in terms of historical sights and buildings.
  • Valun and Martinscica: are both very pretty fishing villages. The blue grotto (Plava Grotta) lies on the way between Valun and Martinscica on the bay Zanja.
  • Bijar: Bay Bijar is located just northeast of Osor and is suitable for overnight stays, for a short visit to Osor, or for bridging the waiting period until the Osor Canal is opened.

Cres

Losinj - Mali Losinj, Veli Losinj

The island of Losinj is a natural paradise full of flowers and pine trees. The two port towns of Mali and Veli Losinj, which are extremely lively in summer, are characterized by the neoclassical style of the Austrians. Numerous villas testify to this period. The mild climate of Losinj attracts many bathers annually. As a result, the landscape is characterized by numerous hotels and guesthouses, parks with palm trees, agaves, huge oleanders and pines.

Losinj

Ilovik is a small, very quiet island south of Losinj, where the chirping of the cicadas and the seagulls make the music. The narrow channel between Ilovik and the emetery island SV.PETAR is very popular with sailors. The small town around the harbor and the canal with its simple church is full of flowers all the year. Ilovik therefore also has the nickname Flower Island.

Ilovik

The small island of Unje is strikingly green and wildly overgrown with sage, rockrose, laurel, lavender, rosemary and thyme. Especially in spring it smells wonderful. The few inhabitants live in the only town, their houses are aligned circularly towards the sea. Trails lead across the entire island and to the two lighthouses.

  • Osor: The city of Osor is located on the island of Cres right on the narrow navigation channel Kavada, which separates the islands of Cres and osinj with a swing bridge. From antiquity to the 15th century, Osor, due to its location, was the capital city of Cres and Losinj. • Mali Losinj: today the largest city and capital of the island, is located in a deep bay. The area surrounding the village is characterized by extensive pine forests that reach to the beaches and coves of crystal clear waters.
  • Veli Losinj: Calmer and tranquil is the fishing village of Veli Losinj, only 5 km away. Around the harbor numerous taverns and street cafes invite you to linger and enjoy your summer vacation.
  • Baldarka: Baldarka Bay, located between Mali Losinj and Veli Losinj, is also very popular.

Ilovik therefore also has the nickname Flower Island.

On the small island of Silba there are some bays with sandy soil in the water. The island town of Silba itself is particularly well-known for the hexagonal „love tower“, which was built in the 17 th century by a captain for his sweatheart.

Although Pomer is only 8 km from Pula, it seems that the place is at the other end of the world. The gentle, deep bay, framed by pine forest and green meadows, conveys tranquility. Pommer is a small Istrian fishing village with a dominating church in the main square. In summer, there are often cozy music evenings there.

The whole area of Pula is a large site of Roman remains. There is hardly a bay that does not contain the remains of a Roman villa rustica. The settlement Pomer is located in the middle of a "Roman site" and is certainly very old.

With turquoise blue water, sandy beach, palm trees and beach bar, the bay is ideal for swimming and snorkelling. In the evening, many of the yachts leave the bay and calm returns. Highly recommended is the hike to the nearby lighthouse on the Cape. The path goes up from the beach to the left of the bar. In the evening you can eat very well in the restaurant on the beach.

Vis Stoncica

In addition to the town of Vis, visiting the marine tunnels / Rogagic, northwest of the city of Vis is highly recommended. Follow the way to the beach at the marine bunker entrance, then towards the open sea there is a small parking spot with the tunnel entrance gate. You should definitely anchor in the bay in front of the marine tunnel, because the setting directly at the tunnel entrance is actually prohibited, because in the morning many excursion boats want to enter there.

Vis

Very nice place with many possibilities for the evening. Numerous shops, restaurants, bars and cafes invite you to stroll. Behind the jetty there is a nice beach with a beach bar. In the bay and also outside the breakwater, there are numerous buoys.

Vis Komiza

Solta Maslinica

Nice little place, which is worth a stop especially because of the beautifully restored Venetian palace. The beautiful estate now houses a luxury hotel with an excellent attached restaurant.

Solta Sesula

Nice but much visited bay with a good restaurant.

The Marco Polo Museum in Korcula is recommendable and very informative.

It can justifiably call itself a nature park, because it is an island of tranquility. Countless islands with picturesque bays and sandy shores belongs to Lastovo archipelago. Remains of Illyrian and Roman settlements can still be seen on some islands. Depending on wind and weather, you can explore the beautiful bays and small villages to your heart's content. • Maslinica : On the west side of Solta lies the harbor town Maslinica, one of the most beautiful places on the island. The heart of Maslinica beats on the beach promenade, because there is not only the ACI Marina, but also the wonderful castle Martinis Marchi.

Drvenik Veli, Drvenik Mali

The two islands are flat and great for swimming. Anyone who wants can also go to the port Drevnik on Veli Drevnik. The place is lovely and very quiet, there are a small church with an old cemetery, some shops and some cafes and restaurants. At the harbor entrance opposite the marina is a ferry landing, but does not bother.

Vis is an island with a lot of untouched nature. The island of Vis is 32 nautical miles from the mainland. Vis is thus the furthest upstream island of the Adriatic. Due to its location, Vis was a military outpost until 1989. To the northeast, not far from the city of Vis, there is a well-preserved military system with an underground naval tunnel and a military bunker which can be visited. The city of Vis is lovely and full of respectable houses from the renaissance and baroque era. Ancient remains and quiet narrow streets with numerous souvenir shops, restaurants and cafes invite you to linger.
