Deep Blue software realeases 2015 new version V2.2
Deep Blue Software was originally designed by yachting experts for yachting professionals, to facilitate communication between the yacht, the management company and the ship-owner, relieving captains from the important administrative and technical workload.
Launched in 2013 – with latest release V2.1 in March 2015 – Deep Blue has already been chosen by 73 motor & sailing yachts from 30m up to 70m cruising in the Mediterranean, Asia and the USA . The software has also been adopted by several yacht management companies.
Deep Blue Software continues evolving, with regular updates. With the recent release of Deep Blue V2.2 , three new modules are now available: Maritime Labor Convention (MLC), Maintenance and Log book.
MLC MODULE – Each crew member has access to the Yacht Deep Blue server with an individual log in & pass word giving access to its personal account and to the working schedules defined by the captain, where crew members can declare their actual working hours, rest hours or make leaves inquiries. The summary of all leaves and duty watch are available in a calendar, presented in a very comprehensive manner. The captain or manager can control working hours and hours for rest, as it is crucial for the yachts, which must comply with MLC. Yachts not subject to MLC can nevertheless adapt and customize this module to follow on board and Flag rules.
Great facilitation of making payrolls is introduced. Crediting of crew wages is calculated automatically on the basis of minimum vacation leaves. The payroll is generated in 1 click. This has only been avaliable with state of the art payroll programs that are very similar to Cloudpay payroll . It’s simple, you tell the software what to do, and it’ll do it at a click.
Besides, Deep Blue keeps in order all the documentation related to MLC and flag rules, checklists, employment contracts, certificates, accessible to crew members and easily editable in case of port state control.
MAINTENANCE MODULE – Chief engineers can buil d custom yacht systems and structure them, classifying by areas, items, sub items with the possibility to assign to each of them counters and maintenance programs according to any indicator selected by user. All maintenance jobs will be recorded in this module, making very easy the search for past Maintenance, due maintenance and future maintenance.
LOGBOOK MODULE – Designed to allow Chief engineers to buil d custom and follow all counters, which can be assigned to Items and sub Items, to follow fuel tanks positions or running parameters. Maintenance jobs, linked to Logbook counters, are automatically presented in the Maintenance module in an easy to read agenda, which can be customized.
In total Deep Blue Yacht Management Software offers 24 modules able to meet the all needs of potential users at 360° around the Yacht: Crew, Crew Lists, Guests, Guest Lists, Yacht Account, Financial Reporting, 2nd Account, 2nd Financial Reporting, Yacht – Yacht documentation, Tech Docs – Yacht technical documentation, Inventory – Yacht inventory database, Auxiliary – Auxiliary items documentation, Maintenance, Works & Reports – Maintenance reports, Logbook, Charter Management, Charter Accounting, Charter APA, Charter Reporting (Charter financial reports), Charter Calendar, MLC Documentation – Maritime Labour Convention documents, Payroll (Crew payroll), Toolkit (Calendar, contacts, help, backup, extranet).
Deep Blue is available in several versions: Deep Blue Pro for yachts and Deep Blue Fleet for yacht management companies , and offers several server solutions including the possibility to host a local server on board which synchronizes – Deep Blue Sync – with a master server ashore. This local server can be reach through the local network without need to be under internet coverage.
Deep Blue also collaborates with shipyards for new built constructions, where the software is integrated at early stage, and interfaced with the shipyard project manager to integrate all technical documents during construction as well as the follow up of Spare parts list and stocks on board.

Seamless Work List Management for Yachting Professionals
Purchasing a yacht is so much more than just the initial price tag, due to the annual operating costs and unforeseen expenses; which is why a yacht should be operated and managed like any well-run business with detailed budget and defined procedures.
With multiple purse holders on a large yacht how can you truly measure the spend, easily authorise spend and keep expenses under control and verified?
Senior Crew members (usually Captains & Heads of Departments) need to have full visibility of all expenses per department at a glance and ensure that expenses are kept under control.
Having more visibility on expenses and budgets as well as on previously paid invoices, crew members become more efficient and more sensible to make rationalised expenses, with the possibility to compare supplier’s costs.
With DEEP Blue software you can allocate the annual budget with a customizable Chart of Accounts, which allows each Crew to know how much they have to spend in each category. Authorised users with access to the finance module of the software will also be able to view the budget left available when expenses are entered and deducted.
How can you control and validate expenses?
DEEP Blue gives the possibility to set a clear and transparent custom approval procedure. In real-time, heads of departments on-board can post quotes to be approved by management, the Owner and/or captain to obtain an instant green light validation to proceed with suppliers. The whole system can replace obsolete heavy emails, telephone calls and text message systems, proving more efficient, more professional and allowing each user to work faster.
With yachts on the move, different currency spends can sometimes be a difficulty for crew members. Using DEEP Blue software, you can custom build a banking structure including bank accounts in various different currencies. You can also record unlimited cash and card accounts for crew with user access permissions by position and name. This allows for any crew member to post their own expenses in the system on a day per day basis, with management levels following the operational expenses in real time.
Assisting with human resource recording.
As well as assisting with the financial aspects of operating a yacht smoothly, assistance is often required to assist with the human resources required to ensure that a yacht is well managed.
The HRM module of DEEP Blue captures all of this data in an easy to use interface allowing each crew member to access the platform where they can check published working schedules, request leave days, declare hours of work/rest and access history of their pay slips. Providing captains with not only time saving systems but professional frameworks to ensure that the complex environment of crew contracts, MLC rules and owners responsibility are fully covered.
How can you ensure your yacht is technically maintained?
When yachts are delivered by the shipyard without a planned maintenance program predefined, it is the owner’s officer’s responsibility to define the best possible planned maintenance system for all equipment on board.
DEEP Blue offers the possibility to custom-build a professional system bespoke to your yachts’ needs. Owners get the assurance that the yacht will follow best practices and standards, with the ability to extract very detailed maintenance history with attachments, including the proof and detail of all completed jobs. This documentation will prove essential during a Class | Flag | Survey inspections and fundamental if your yacht is put up for sale.

Project Deep Blue: Semi-complete hull of 130m+ Lürssen yacht technically launched
The semi-complete hull of a Lürssen project, known only as Project Deep Blue, has been spotted for the first time during its technical launch.
The hull was seen preparing to leave the shipbuilder's Lemwerder site in order to move to Lürssen's Bremen facility for the next stage of construction, which will see the bow segment attached.
While no official specifications have been released by the yard, Project Deep Blue is estimated to measure around 130 metres, although this figure could be significantly higher once the bow is fitted.
Details about the yacht's design team also remain under wraps, but yacht-spotters have drawn similarities between the yacht's lines and those of Ahpo (now Lady Jorgia ), with the same tapered decks on the forward part of the superstructure.
The yacht, which is expected to have a gross tonnage of around 9,000 GT, is one of Lürssen's first projects to use the builder's new slipway which is able to accommodate much heavier loads.
According to BOATPro , Lürssen has 13 projects in build including Project Deep Blue. She is expected to see delivery in 2025.

Every morning, thousands of residents of Moscow region come to Moscow from their small towns to work or study. Suburban trains deliver people to train stations. At 6 a.m. in winter it is still dark outside. There are only a few passengers on the trains. At 7 a.m. there will be more, and at 8 a.m. there will be a crowd of people at the stations. But at the time of day, depicted in the artwork, there are almost no people on the train. We can tell this by looking at reflections in windows. There is not a single reflection of people; windows reflect only empty spaces and interior lighting. On the outside, we can see moving rails and remote residential buildings where people are waking up and switching the lights on.
It’s warm inside the train, although the wagon is not new. We see abrasions on the seat upholstery, scratches on the panel.
The artist conveys the steady movement of an electric train. It uses a composition of diagonals of rails and windows and the rhythm of vertical partitions, electricity pylons on the outside, lamps, buildings, and reflections.
Andrey Surnov finds perfect color combinations. He paints the whole picture in soft colors, but if you look carefully, you will see that there is a contrast. It is not just a contrast of darkness and light, but a deep contrast between red and green, orange and blue, lemon and purple. These contrasting colors are the basis of the halftones used by the author. The green color on the panels contains notes of strontian-yellow color, and in the brownish upholstery – chords of red color. The bluish snow contrasts with the orange light of the windows. The lilac sky contrasts with the reflections in the window, which have a hint of lemon color.
Andrey Surnov is a master of speaking details that the viewer does not immediately notice. Look carefully at the glare of light in the lower-left corner of the first window. There is a strip with a thin perforation between the pieces of glass. This detail is amazing. It stands in front of a spectator who spends an hour or two on a train every day. If you sit by the window for a long time, you always notice this strip between the windows. This very accurate detail allows us to understand the loneliness of a passenger who leaves for another city early in the morning to gain knowledge or money.

USSR Stamps Commemoratives of 1923-1925
The first commemorative USSR stamps were issued on August 9, 1923, replacing the postage stamps of the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic (RSFSR).
The year 1923 was a time of great celebration. A new nation had been born, run by the representatives of the working-class people, instead of the landed nobility, aristocrats, and the political elite. Yet there would soon be a period of great sadness and mourning, as the founder of the new nation, being only 53 years of age, would pass away from a lengthy illness.
The four commemorative USSR stamps shown above were issued on August 19, 1923 to celebrate the First Agriculture and Craftsmanship Exhibition of the USSR, held in Moscow. The four designs feature:
- 01 R. - Allegory of Reaping.
- 02 R. - Allegory of Sowing.
- 05 R. - Fordson Tractor. Manufactured by Henry Ford & Son, Inc. and then Ford Motor Co. between 1917 and 1964. Between 1921 and 1927, the RSFSR and the USSR imported over 25,000 of the Fordson Model-F Tractors.
- 07 R. - Allegory of the Exhibition.
The catalog attributes, for stamps that are imperforate , are as follows:
- 01 R. (1923 - Sc. #242) - Brown & Orange.
- 02 R. (1923 - Sc. #243) - Deep Green & Pale Green.
- 05 R. (1923 - Sc. #244) - Deep Blue & Pale Blue.
- 07 R. (1923 - Sc. #245) - Rose & Pink.
The catalog attributes, for stamps that are perforated 12 1/2 , are as follows:
- 01 R. (1923 - Sc. #246a) - Brown & Orange.
- 02 R. (1923 - Sc. #247) - Deep Green & Pale Green.
- 05 R. (1923 - Sc. #248) - Deep Blue & Pale Blue.
- 07 R. (1923 - Sc. #249a) - Rose & Pink.
The catalog attributes, for stamps that are perforated 13 1/2 , are as follows:
- 01 R. (1923 - Sc. #246) - Brown & Orange.
- 05 R. (1923 - Sc. #248a) - Deep Blue & Pale Blue.
- 07 R. (1923 - Sc. #249) - Rose & Pink.
The four commemorative USSR stamps shown above were issued during early 1924 in mourning for the untimely Death of Vladimir Lenin . The common design features a facing portrait of Lenin .
- 03 K. (1924 - Sc. #265) - Red & Black.
- 06 K. (1924 - Sc. #266) - Red & Black.
- 12 K. (1924 - Sc. #267) - Red & Black.
- 20 K. (1924 - Sc. #268) - Red & Black.
- 03 K. (1924 - Sc. #269) - Red & Black.
- 06 K. (1924 - Sc. #270) - Red & Black.
- 12 K. (1924 - Sc. #271) - Red & Black.
- 20 K. (1924 - Sc. #272) - Red & Black.
There were three printings of these USSR stamps, with each differing in the size of the red frame . Forgeries also exist! Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov , called Lenin (1870-1924) was a Russian communist revolutionary, politician, and political theorist, and he is widely regarded as one of the most significant political leaders of the 20th Century. Lenin was the head of government for both the RSFSR (1918-1924) and the USSR (1922-1924) . He lived to see his dream of a socialist nation come true, but between the middle of 1921 and the beginning of 1924, he had become gravely ill. Lenin continued working, as long as he could, but on January 21, 1924, he lapsed into a coma at his Gorki home and died. A later autopsy on his brain revealed that he had died from severe sclerosis.
The four USSR stamps shown above were issued in January 1925 to commemorate the First Anniversary of Lenin's Death . The stamps are photogravure printed on paper with WMK 170 . The common design features Lenin's Mausoleum in Red Square . Following Lenin's death, his body was mummified and placed on display in his mausoleum, where it remains to this day. The catalog attributes, for stamps that are imperforate , are as follows:
- 07 K. (1925 - Sc. #294) - Deep Blue.

- 14 K. (1925 - Sc. #299) - Dark Green.
- 20 K. (1925 - Sc. #300) - Carmine Rose.
- 40 K. (1925 - Sc. #301) - Red Brown.
The two commemorative USSR stamps shown above were issued in September 1925 to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Academy of Sciences . The stamps are photogravure , printed on paper with WMK 170 , and they are perforated 12 1/2 , 13 1/2 , and compound . The common design features Mikhail V. Lomonosov and the Academy of Sciences . The catalog attributes are as follows:
- 03 K. (1925 - Sc. #326) - Orange Brown.
- 15 K. (1925 - Sc. #327) - Dark Olive Green.
Mikhail V. Lomonosov (1711-1765) was a scientist and writer who made important contributions to literature, education, and science. One of his most important discoveries was the atmosphere of Venus. His specialty subjects included natural science, physics, chemistry, mineralogy, history, and art. The Russian Academy of Sciences , with headquarters in Moscow, was founded in 1724, and its scientific institutes are located all across the Russian Federation. It currently includes 500 institutions and 55,000 scientific researchers.
The two commemorative USSR stamps shown above were issued in October 1925 to honor Alexander S. Popov . The stamps are photogravure , printed on paper with WMK 170 , and they are perforated 1 3 1/2 .
