Local Attractions

Sydney is a vibrant city that combines modern attractions with a rich cultural heritage. While you're in town for the start of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, take the opportunity to explore the city's stunning landmarks. One must-visit destination is the Sydney Opera House , an architectural marvel and UNESCO World Heritage Site that offers a range of guided tours and world-class performances. A stroll along the nearby Circular Quay provides unbeatable views of both the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge , where you can even join the famous BridgeClimb for a panoramic view of the city and harbour. For a more laid-back experience, relax in the nearby Royal Botanic Garden , which offers beautifully landscaped gardens and walking paths right by the water.

Sydney is also home to iconic beaches like Bondi Beach , famous for its golden sands, surf culture, and the scenic Bondi to Coogee coastal walk. If you’re into shopping and dining, the Queen Victoria Building offers an array of high-end boutiques and eateries in a beautiful historic setting. For families, a visit to Taronga Zoo , situated on the harbour with views back towards the city, provides a chance to see native Australian wildlife alongside exotic species from around the world. Whether you’re into outdoor adventures, cultural activities, or simply relaxing by the water, Sydney has something to offer every visitor.

You’ll find Tasmania’s capital brimming with a mix of natural beauty, history, and a lively arts scene. Start your journey by wandering through Salamanca Place , home to the famous Salamanca Market on Saturdays. This bustling market features local artisans, gourmet foods, and handcrafted products, making it the perfect place to soak up the local atmosphere. Just a short walk away is Battery Point , one of Hobart's oldest neighborhoods. Here, you can explore charming colonial-era cottages and picturesque streets that transport you back in time.

Hobart is also known for its world-class art scene, anchored by the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) . Situated along the Derwent River, MONA offers a thought-provoking collection of modern art and antiquities, all housed in a subterranean structure that adds to its unique appeal. If you're a nature lover, Mount Wellington is a must-see. Standing at over 1,200 meters, it provides breathtaking panoramic views of Hobart and the surrounding wilderness. The mountain is accessible by car or via hiking trails, and in the warmer months, it’s a popular spot for mountain biking and picnics. A trip to Bruny Island or the Huon Valley makes for an excellent day tour from Hobart, offering visitors the chance to enjoy Tasmania's pristine landscapes, wildlife, and gourmet produce.

Sydney to Hobart Race Village
