Baia Yachts History

Baia Yachts’ history begins in 1961 with Mericraft, a small facility producing wooden boats in Naples. In 1968, the company relocated to Baia, a port on the Gulf of Naples with an established seafaring tradition that provided an abundance of talented artisans. Management problems threatened the completion of a restoration project for the Capasso family, and in 1972, the Capassos purchased the shipyard and rechristened it Cantieri di Baia. The company launched their revolutionary yacht Pascià in 1997, a vessel notable for her wide round stern, fiberglass structure and hull, and elegant teak decking and interior.

1980 marked a turning point in Baia production, when the company began making boats entirely out of counter molded fiberglass. Their new motoryacht, the B81, which sat low in the water and featured an attractive line, enjoyed such popularity that the company went on to produce 106 models over the next 10 years. The 1983 launch of Baia’s new motor yacht series B50, a fast yacht with brilliant performance and elegant sleek lines that was extremely popular in the American market, propelled the company to international recognition.

Baia made the strategic decision to concentrate on the production of large-sized Open superyachts in 1986, in a move to meet rising domestic demand and spread into new markets. The company’s B80 superyacht, released six years later, was well-received by the international community; its renewed technologically advanced version Open cruiser sails the seas at 50 knots to this day. The same year the company joined the world of cabin cruisers with the production of their first 105′ Baia super yacht.

The next several decades saw Baia Yachts continuing its foray into international markets as it opened dealerships around the world. The Italian shipyard introduced several innovations to the field, including a 48′ “Coupe,” the first Convertible of the Sea, and the Italia 70, a vessel with a back door that retracted into the ceiling to create enormous open usable space on the main deck. Baia’s ongoing research and development of original technologies and materials ensures their vessels are consistently on the forefront of design. They currently produce an entire line of cruisers, cabin cruisers, fast cruisers and fast commuters ranging from 43 feet to over 100 feet that thrill with the blend of high performance and beauty that is uniquely Baia.

The 24.38m/80' open yacht 'Alchemy' (ex. Gunny) was built by Baia Yachts in Italy. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Alberto Ascenzi and she was last refitted in 2019.

Guest Accommodation

Alchemy has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests in 3 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 3 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

Built with a GRP hull and GRP superstructure, with teak decks, she has impressive speed and great efficiency thanks to her planing hull. Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 2000 M91) 16-cylinder 2,000hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 39 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 49 knots with a range of up to 400 nautical miles from her 5,700 litre fuel tanks. Her low draft of 1.3m/4'3" makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. Her water tanks store around 1,500 Litres of fresh water.

The Italian shipyard Baia Yachts presents its new Baia One Hundred series motor yachts Argonauts and Katara III, launched this year. Argonauts superyacht is also known under the Hull number 4, while Katara III superyacht under the Hull number 5, and both represent 100% Italian design created by Galeazzi Design .

Baia 31m super yacht Mirage (Hull 2)

Baia 31m luxury yachts Argonauts and Katara III have a GRP hull and superstructure and a beam of 7.34 meters (24.08ft) and a draught of 1.20 meters (3.94ft). They can reach a maximum speed of 50 knots and a cruising speed of 45 knots, with the triple MTU diesel engines.

Super yachts Hull 4 and Hull 5 follow after the first Baia One Hundred series motor yacht Fan One , delivered in 2008 and 2010 Mirage superyacht and Black Legend yacht. The motor yacht Hull 6 is currently under construction.

Baia motor yacht Danush back on the market

Sold in June 2018, the 24.39 metre motor yacht Danush is back on the market, listed for sale by Giulio Riggio at Fraser .

Built in GRP by Italian yard Baia , Danush was delivered in 2004 as one of the yard’s Panther 80 models. Accommodation is for up to seven guests in three cabins consisting of a master suite with an entertainment system including a 21 inch LCD television, a VIP suite and a twin cabin with a Pullman berth, all with full en suite facilities. In addition, two crew are accommodated in an en suite twin aboard this yacht for sale .

The interior is light and tasteful, with a relaxation area in the saloon on built in suede settees, a bar and an entertainment centre including a 42 inch LCD television screen. Forward is a small informal dining area for four guests at a round table.

Most of the action takes place in the large cockpit which has wrap around seating in immaculate white leather around three rise and fall varnished cocktail tables. Behind the seating is a large sun pad upholstered in white leather while steps lead down to a good sized swim platform. All the leather and sun pads were renewed in June 2012 and there were further upgrades in the winter of 2015.

Above all, Danush was designed to speed her guests between Mediterranean hot spots and accordingly she is powered by twin 2,000hp MTU engines giving her a maximum speed of 58 knots and a range of 1,000 nautical miles at her cruising speed of 42 knots.

Lying in St Stefano, Italy, Danush is asking €690,000 with VAT paid.
