It would take the sale of approximately 5.75 million HP ink cartridges to fund the $92 million purchase of superyacht Secret , currently listed for sale with Burgess. The ink cartridges were one of Walmart’s top-selling products in 2021, and might well have contributed to a successful year of yachting for Secret ’s owner, Walmart heiress and philanthropist Nancy Walton Laurie.

As the largest yacht on display at last month’s MYBA Charter Show in Barcelona, and one of three yachts reportedly owned by Laurie, the 271-foot beauty built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2013 provides some insight into the family’s tastes and preferences.

The main salon’s bold color scheme by interior designer Jim Harris mixes pillar-box red sofas and carpets with ornate gold wall art. It’s a brave step change from the neutral beige and gray tones often selected by owners, typically with resale value in mind.

The designers also moved the formal dining room to the upper deck, leaving a large entertaining space to watch sports and socialize. A monochrome marble bar with a glass backdrop, views to the main deck aft and an onboard mixologist all help to set the tone. When it comes onboard socializing, Secret pulls no punches.

Guests arrive via the lower deck beach club or the main deck side entrance, where luggage can be ushered into the color-coded lower deck guest cabins. There are some unusual perks to being a guest aboard Secret . Heated bathroom floors feature across all guest suites, while guest mattresses are singles that zip together into doubles for greater flexibility.

The upper-deck, full-beam master suite, named Chanel to reflect the black-and-champagne silk color scheme, is highly personalized. Separate his and her en suites have their own amenities: Hers has a full-sized bath, and his has higher countertops to accommodate former basketball player and owner Bill Laurie’s 6’ 4” height. Both have steam showers. The private office is considerably smaller than the VIP office to accommodate the owner’s request for an oversized walk-in wardrobe.

The most surprising area on board is the “Valentina” main deck VIP guest suite, named after the Valentina-inspired white spiked headboard. The master has sea views and a private terrace, but the full-beam VIP, decorated and claimed by Laurie’s adult daughter when her family is on board, is arguably the superior option. It shares the same footprint as the master but enjoys a greater attention to detail. The ensuite, decorated in black-and-white stripes, has two day heads—one with bidet—and a central wet room fitted with a shower and full-sized bathtub.

The monochrome décor is echoed throughout the yacht, from the upper-deck sky lounge to the guest hallways. In the 12-person cinema, red Porsche leather armchairs are mirrored in the leather ceiling panels. The dedicated treatment room enjoys an onboard beautician and masseuse who specializes in hot Swedish massage.

A glass elevator connects the lower deck to the bridge deck, where an indoor glass-fronted gym and outdoor pool are located. For sundown soaks, the sun deck Jacuzzi ticks the box.

Last refitted in 2018, the yacht started out life at 256 feet, with an additional 16 feet added to accommodate the owner’s choice of an aft deck dining table. It’s the preferred space to enjoy buffet-style breakfasts, protected from view by high bulwarks. Further al fresco dining for 14 people is available on the lower deck beach club, where a “dining under the stars” themed evening sees guests enjoy meals at the water’s edge beneath a blanket of twinkling LEDs and real constellations above.

For families and guests with a competitive spirit, the beach club, equipped with changing rooms and rain showers, is the center of watersports action. A serious collection of toys, including kneeboards, flyboards, trampolines and towables are matched by an inflatable assault course erected by the crew for “Sports Olympics.” The addition of a female water-sports instructor has proven popular with charter guests.  When the weather’s bad, the karaoke system comes to the rescue.

It’s no secret that smaller yachts in the 190-foot size range are proving more popular on the global charter market at present, preferred for their ability to access smaller ports and anchor close to shore. But Secret pulls out all the stops for guests looking to enjoy time aboard a yacht maxed out with amenities and personality, provided in a covert setting. All in all, definitely worth the printer cartridges.

The Ultra-Lux Walmart Superyacht is the Biggest Yacht Built in U.S.

The Walton family are heirs to the Walmart empire, and as you might expect the luxury runs deep considering their multi-billion dollar generational wealth.

Case in point: Nancy Walton Laurie, niece of Walmart founder Sam Walton, put her 270-foot (82 m) superyacht Secret on the market for $98 million in early 2022. Her sister Ann Walton Kroenke, meanwhile, elected to refit their yacht Aquila , rather than sell it, and turn it into an unreal mega-machine with a $150 million pricetag.

According to Boat International , Aquila was purchased by Ann Walton and her husband Stan Kroenke (owner of the NFL's Los Angeles Rams, the NHL's Colorado Avalanche, and the Denver Nuggets of the NBA), in 2015 and immediately went into a refit. The boat is the largest yacht built in the U.S, and was first commissioned 20 years ago by Derecktor Shipyard under the name Cakewalk before being sold to the Walton family and changed to Aquila . The word aquila , if you're curious, is the Latin word for "eagle." Derecktor has facilities in Maine, New York and Florida (most superyachts are built in Europe, specifically Italy and the Netherlands).

As for the refit, it took 18 months to complete and was done by the Pendennis shipyard in Spain. The extensive overhaul helped land Aquila a 2017 World Superyacht Award for 'Best Refitted Yacht.' Interesting category.

The Waltons added numerous ultra-lux details during the refit. Some of the biggest standouts include an actual bar named 'The London Bar', a nightclub that features smoke machines, a light system, and a DJ booth, as well as a complete movie theater, and a 36-foot waterwall chandelier that cascades down all four decks of the boat.

Because why not?

Other premium amenities include two massage rooms, a complete gym, hair salon, office space, and a jacuzzi. The master suite includes its own 60 square metre (645 sq ft) private deck. Six guest cabins can host up to 12 guests, and there is somehow enough room for 28 crew as well.

She's a decent cruiser too, with twin MTU diesel engines that provide a max range of 5000 nautical miles and a top speed of 17 knots (19.5 mph).

Walmart billionaire’s €300m superyacht moored off Dún Laoghaire coast

Heiress’s luxury vessel comes complete with a heli pad, swimming pool and 16 cabins.

A superyacht belonging to one of the wealthiest women in the world was sighted on Tuesday moored in Scotsman’s Bay, off Dún Laoghaire, providing a rare treat for the harbour’s yacht spotters.

The 110-metre, €300 million Kaos is reportedly owned by Nancy Walton Laurie, heiress to the Walmart US retail empire.

Weighing in at 4,523 tons, it has impressive features including 16 cabins, a gym, a steam room, an indoor beach club, a cinema, a sauna, and a spa. There is also a swimming pool and a helipad.

The yacht’s interiors are known for their lavish style which includes marble and stone fittings, and custom-made silk carpets.

The yacht was recently seen in London and Cornwall before making its way to Dún Laoghaire.

According to Superyacht Times, Kaos was formerly known as Jubilee, and was launched in 2017, as the largest yacht ever built in the Netherlands.

“The exterior features a combination of curved lines and glass panels in the bulwarks is visually stunning to create an illusion of extra decks and a trompe l’oeil effect where the yacht appears long and lean. Metallic paint enhances reflected sunlight on these curved lines,” the publication said.

It was the second large private yacht to visit the Dublin in recent weeks and follows the more modest €80 million Scout which was moored in the Liffey and visited Kinsale.

Scout, also a Dutch-built vessel, was launched in 2019 for James Berwind, whose family made a fortune out of coal and mining. He now engages in social entrepreneurship and is reported to have a passion for animal welfare.

Berwind and his partner Kevin Clark designed Scout, which is named after the couple’s dog, to be a semi-permanent base from which they can explore the world.

The superyacht visits come at the beginning of what is expected to be a busy season for cruise ships at the historic south Dublin port town.

Mary Hanafin, former Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown council, said more than 90 ships will visit Dún Laoghaire this year. During her tenure as Cathaoirleach, which concluded this week, Ms Hanafin said she visited three ships which were first-time arrivals in Dún Laoghaire. She said the cruise ships which she visited were two small luxury vessels which can accommodate 500 to 600 passengers, and one larger ship which could accommodate some 3,200 passengers and 1,400 crew.

Ms Hanafin said the local authority which controls the harbour receives fees for boats moored offshore while power boat owners also received fees for escorting tenders.

She said while some passengers went on to Dublin or Glendalough, many remained in Dún Laoghaire Town and spent money on gifts. She said the council has set up and tourist information and gift shops as well as a reception area in the harbour.

A superyacht belonging to one of the richest people in the world has been pictured off the coast of Northern Ireland.

The Kaos, owned by Walmart heiress, Nancy Walton Laurie was spotted of the coast of Bangor County Down.

The boat is worth an estimated €300m vessel and weighs around 4,523 tonnes.

The vessel has numerous luxury features, including 16 cabins, a steam room, gym, indoor beach club, sauna, cinema spa, swimming pool and helipad. It also has space for 75 people, including 30 guests and 45 crew. The 110-metre yacht was also seen a few days ago moored ,off the coastal town of Dún Laoghaire in Dublin.

$300m superyacht belonging to Walmart heiress sails into Irish town

A superyacht believed to belong to one of the heirs of the Walmart fortune, Nancy Walton Laurie, sailed into the quiet harbor of Kinsale, Co Cork.

The yacht was - quite easily - spotted by locals early on Monday morning. Fisherman Eamon O'Neill snapped a photo of the vessel and shared it on the town's online community noticeboard, where Walton Laurie was pinpointed as the owner.

Kaos is a $300million superyacht with four decks, a helipad, spa, swimming pool, cinema, aquarium and room for 31 guests and 45 crew members, according to the Yacht Bible directory.

It also reportedly has the most marble and stone ever installed on a yacht and was previously owned by the Qatari royal family.

Walton Laurie reportedly bought the 361-foot vessel in 2019. The youngest daughter of Walmart co-founder James "Bud" Walton, the 72-year-old has an estimated net worth of $8.6billion.

She and her sister Ann Walton Kroenke inherited a stake in the famous US company, now the world's largest retailer, after their father's death in 1995.

Walton Laurie is also a philanthropist and the founder of a New York-based dance group, as well the the Columbia Performing Arts Centre in Missouri, where the sisters grew up.

Kaos was recently spotted docking in London, which is a short sail from the Irish coast.

A short drive from Cork City and the starting point of the Wild Atlantic Way , Kinsale is popular spot amongst tourists, with many celebrities, from Michael Jackson to Julia Roberts, visiting the seaside town over the years.

Commenting on the arrival of yacht online, locals called it "magnificent" and "a gem".

"I hope she enjoys her stay in this beautiful part of our amazing country," one Facebook user wrote. Another added: "She has great taste!"

Two climate activists vandalized an American heiress' $300 million superyacht in Ibiza on Sunday, bathing the vessel's stern with red and black paint.

The pair used fire extinguishers to spray paint on the Kaos, a megayacht owned by the billionaire Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie, then held up a sign that read: "You consume, others suffer."

The yacht appeared to be leaving port when the activists doused its rear, and boat staff could be seen immediately attempting to wash away the paint with hoses, according to footage tweeted by Futuro Vegetal, a Spanish organization lobbying for climate action.

"We can't go on like this, it's a matter of life and death," Futuro Vegetal tweeted .

Futuro Vegetal tweeted on Sunday that the activists targeted the Kaos because Walton Laurie was "one of the richest women in the world."

The two activists were detained and are expected to be released on Monday at noon, the organization said, without specifying what they were charged with.

Her vessel, which flies under the Jamaican flag, has four decks and can accommodate 31 guests and 45 crew, per the yacht-enthusiast website Yacht Bible .

It hosts 16 guest cabins and at least 24 staff cabins as well as an elevator, a steam room, a gym, a cinema, and an indoor beach club.

It costs from $20 million to $30 million every year to keep the Kaos running, according to Yacht Bible.

On Friday, three activists from Futuro Vegetal also ran onto a runway of an airport in Ibiza to spray yellow paint on a private jet and disrupt airport operations .

WHEN it comes to luxury yachts, Walmart heiress Ann Walton Kroenke need not envy other billionaires.

Walton Kroenke's $150m superyacht has everything a billionaire - or anyone - would need to enjoy themselves out at sea, including a 37-feet waterfall chandelier, a salon and a theatre.

The 73-year-old heiress and her husband, Los Angeles Ram's owner Stan Kroenke, bought the floating mansion a couple of years ago and renamed it Aquila, according to Boat International .

After an extensive remodeling at the Pendennis British shipyard, the yacht won the 2017 World Superyacht Award.

The Aquila, reportedly the largest yacht built in the US since the 1930s, now boasts a bar named "the London Bar" and two massage rooms.

It also features seven cabins, as well as a gym and a large jacuzzi.

Billionaire Walmart heiress’s $300m superyacht splattered with paint in Ibiza attack

Climate activists have attacked a superyacht belonging to Walmart heiress Nancy Walton Laurie , spraying red and black paint across the stern.

The vessel was vandalised on Sunday in Ibiza by members of the Spain -based environmental group Futuro Vegetal.

Two activists were photographed holding a sign that read: “You Consume Others Suffer”.

A crew member can be seen behind them hosing the paint off the side of the boat.

Both of the demonstrators were arrested.

The group posted images and videos of the attack on Instagram, writing: “The only reason we continue to maintain an economic system that leads us to eco-social collapse is to sustain the privileges of this small privileged class.”

“The mega-rich live off the suffering of others. It is the people who are at the top of the social pyramid who put all life on the planet at their service, forcing us to work to sustain their system, exploiting animals and destroying the territory no matter how much suffering and death it implies.”

Just two days before, the group had also sprayed a private jet with black and yellow paint.

Ms Laurie, the owner of the yacht, inherited a stake in Walmart in 1995 from her father, Bud Walton , who built the brand into the retail empire it is today with his brother.

According to Forbes, Ms Laurie is worth approximately $8.7bn.

Her yacht, “Kaos”, is worth $300m and is 361 feet long with four decks, accommodation for 31 guests and a 45-person crew.

Featuring full spa facilities, an aquarium and a cinema, there are also separate gyms for guests and crew and a small hospital for onboard emergencies.

The House is gearing up for a Wednesday vote on bipartisan legislation that could lead to a ban on TikTok, one of the most widely used apps in the world with an estimated 170 million users in the United States alone.

The possibility of a potential ban has outraged thousands of content creators who rely on the site as their main source of income.

Amber Estenson, a 42-year content creator also known as "That Midwestern Mom," went viral on TikTok two years ago when she uploaded one of her quirky Minnesota "salad" concoctions. The ingredients — Snickers bars, apples, Jell-O and Cool Whip — made her a viral sensation.

With a million followers on TikTok, Estenson said she's worried about the potential U.S. ban, calling the site her "lifeline."

"A ban is unrealistic and absurd. For me personally, it would mean a loss of income ... It would mean I would lose a million follows," Estenson said.

Other TikTokers use their platform as a means of giving back. William McCoy, who goes by Izzy White, is a former drug dealer and ex-felon from Baltimore. He said he uses his platform to help homeless people in his community.

"Without TikTok, basically all the mouths that I feed every day wouldn't get fed every day," McCoy said.

Lawmakers from both parties have thrown their support behind a bill that would force TikTok's China-based parent company, ByteDance, to divest the app within six months of the law's enactment or face a nationwide ban.

China's stake in the app has raised national security concerns from both Democrats and Republicans.

But Jameel Jaffer, a civil liberties attorney at Columbia University, said a ban is not the remedy to this particular issue.

"TikTok is not the only platform that collects that kind of information. Many other platforms collect that information including American platforms and that data is then made available to data brokers who then sell it to foreign governments" Jaffer said.

As it stands, government employees on the federal level and in several states are mostly prohibited from using TikTok on government-issued devices. In May of 2023, Montana became the first state to ban the app on all personal devices. (A judge blocked the law in November 2023 , before the ban could take effect. The state has since appealed the decision .)

National Security

TikTok has maintained that it now uses a separate, U.S.-based entity from ByteDance to store its American user data, but the reassurance hasn't been enough to convince many of the platform's skeptics.

The bill, which passed out of the House Energy and Commerce Committee last week with unanimous approval, appears to have the support it needs to pass the House.

House Speaker Mike Johnson stands behind the measure, telling reporters this week that TikTok is "actively undermining our economy and security."

A California philanthropist allegedly threatened to kill a dock worker during a heated argument from his multimillion-dollar yacht, before dropping his pants and making several threatening gestures to the employee.

Ajay Thakore, a local entrepreneur in the San Diego area, attempted to dock his Lamborghini yacht at the private Marriot Marquis Marina to pick up one of his employees but was stopped by worker Joseph Holt on Sunday.

“I told him respectfully that he couldn’t be there, and I honestly was hoping to have a conversation with him about his cool boat,” Holt told CBS8. “But yeah, it completely went the other way.”

Thakore, who goes by his social media name, Ace Rogers, was riding on his rare $4.5 million Tecnomar for Lamborghini 63 yacht at the time of the daytime dispute.

Holt claimed Thakore became hostile as soon as he was told off.

“It escalated immediately. It was 0 to 100 immediately,” the 21-year-old worker added.

Thakore, the CEO of medical advertising firm Doctor Multimedia, allegedly began to threaten Holt’s life as the luxury speedboat drove away from the docks.

“I will kill you, you know I will kill you, I will kill,” Thakore repeatedly yells, according to the video posted to YouTube.

Besides threatening to take Holt’s life, Thakore claimed to have the power to get the dock worker fired, ripping on the type of job he had.

“I’m a minimum wage worker, he was commenting on that, on my status just because of my job,” Holt said. “He was saying I’m nobody, I’m nothing, I work a silly job.”

“He said that he knows people, he has connections, he can change my life and ruin it,” he added.

During the heated discussion, Thakore allegedly pulled out his wallet and began throwing $100 bills at Holt and into the water, according to the outlet.

Holt said he tried to control himself during the incident and only gave Thakore the middle finger.

“I really didn’t know how to process it. I really was trying to restrain myself from getting fired from my job or stepping out of line. The only thing I did was give him the bird,” he said.

The dock hand blasted Thakore for his actions, especially in a public setting where he stripped nude and showed himself off.

“He had dropped his pants and started to make gestures to everybody watching and me. You can’t act that way in public. It’s just not OK. Especially threatening my life, at the very least. There were women and children there. That’s the most important part,” Holt said.

Thakore claims his outburst started because of a misunderstanding and was sorry for the people who saw it.

“The interaction that occurred yesterday was regrettable. What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange,” Thakore’s public relations team said in a statement, obtained by KFMB.

Port of San Diego Harbor Police were called to the Seaforth Boat rental dock for “a possible intoxicated vessel operator” but arrived at the marina 10 minutes after Thakore and his boat had left.

The employee who attempted to board the extravagant boat defended his boss’s actions, saying Holt was hostile toward Thakore, and the businessman was only defending his team.

“As I went to kindly step onto the Yacht, I was impeded by two members that work for Seaforth Boat Rental,” Thakore’s employee Jason said on a post to the CEO’s Instagram account.

Jason said he was told to “stand back” the first time he went to step on the boat, and claimed he was forearmed during his second attempt to board the yacht.

“They physically got in my way, the situation became fairly tense, there was a lot of screaming back and forth, extremely confrontational, I didn’t fully understand protocol, as I was going to step onto the boat.”

“As all of this happened, my boss flipped and he’s very protective of me, his fiancée, of his employees.” Jason added. “It was a confusing situation that became very tense and very confrontational.”

Thakore captioned the post saying “there are two sides to every story and it’s easy to paint a picture with edited video clips from cell phones.”

“My employee Jason was being restricted, restrained, and threatened while trying to board my yacht. As a leader, I defend my own fiercely with everything I have, and I will never apologize for that,” the caption read.

US lawmakers say TikTok won’t be banned if it finds a new owner. But that’s easier said than done

U.S. lawmakers are threatening to ban TikTok but also say they are giving its Chinese parent company a chance to keep it running.

The premise of a bipartisan bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday is that TikTok fans in the U.S. can keep scrolling through their favorite social media app so long as Beijing-based ByteDance gives up on owning it.

“It doesn’t have to be this painful for ByteDance,” U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, an Illinois Democrat and bill co-sponsor, recently posted on X. “They could make it a lot easier on themselves by simply divesting @tiktok_us. It’s their choice.”

But it’s not going to be as simple as lawmakers are making it sound, according to experts.

WHO WOULD BUY TIKTOK?

While some people have voiced an interest in buying TikTok’s U.S. business — among them “Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary — there are a number of challenges including a 6-month deadline to get it done.

“Somebody would have to actually be ready to shell out the large amount of money that this product and system is worth,” said Stanford University researcher Graham Webster, who studies Chinese technology policy and U.S.-China relations. “But even if somebody has deep enough pockets and is ready to go into negotiating to purchase, this sort of matchmaking on acquisitions is not quick.”

Big tech companies could afford it but would likely face intense scrutiny from antitrust regulators in both the U.S. and China. Then again, if the bill actually becomes law and survives First Amendment court challenges, it could make TikTok cheaper to buy.

“One of the main effects of the legislation would be to decrease the sale price,” said Matt Perault, director of the University of North Carolina’s Center on Technology Policy, which gets funding from TikTok and other tech companies. “As you approach that 180-day clock, the pressure on the company to sell or risk being banned entirely would be high, which would mean probably the acquirers could get it at a lower price.”

HOW WOULD IT WORK?

The bill — which now moves to the U.S. Senate — calls for prohibiting TikTok in the U.S. but makes an exception if there’s a “qualified divestiture.”

That could only happen if the U.S. president determines “through an interagency process” that TikTok is “no longer being controlled by a foreign adversary,” according to the bill. Not only that, but the new U.S.-based TikTok would have to completely cut ties with ByteDance. That includes no more “cooperation with respect to the operation of a content recommendation algorithm or an agreement with respect to data sharing.”

It reflects longstanding concerns that Chinese authorities could force ByteDance to hand over data on the 170 million Americans who use TikTok. The worry stems from a set of Chinese national security laws that compel organizations to assist with intelligence gathering.

It’s an unusual bill in the way that it targets a single company. Typically, a government group led by the Treasury secretary called the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, or CFIUS, will review whether such a sale would pose any national security threats.

HASN’T THIS HAPPENED BEFORE?

Yes. The Trump administration brokered a deal in 2020 that would have had U.S. corporations Oracle and Walmart take a large stake in TikTok on national security grounds.

The deal would have also made Oracle responsible for hosting all TikTok’s U.S. user data and securing computer systems to ensure national security requirements are satisfied. Microsoft also made a failed bid for TikTok that its CEO Satya Nadella later described as the “strangest thing I’ve ever worked on.”

Instead of congressional action, the 2020 arrangement was in response to then-President Donald Trump’s series of executive actions targeting TikTok.

But the sale never went through for a number of reasons. Trump’s executive orders got held up in court as the 2020 presidential election loomed. China also had imposed stricter export controls on its technology providers.

Incoming President Joe Biden in 2021 reversed course and dropped the legal proceedings. Now Biden says he’s in favor a bill that would ban TikTok if ByteDance won’t divest, and Trump is not .

A California yacht owner's vicious beef with a dock worker has reached death-threat levels -- and their exchange was caught on camera and included a nude, and very rude, gesture!

And it doesn't stop there -- as Thakore's pulling out of the harbor, he drops trou to make a full frontal salute in Holt's direction. Stay classy, San Diego!

Holt's only retaliation was flipping the bird, and he later told CBS8 that was all he could do to keep his cool and avoid escalating the situation.

Holt says parts of the altercation were not captured on camera, and he adds ... Thakore not only threatened to kill him, but also claimed to have connections who could totally mess up his life.

Holt also says Thakore pulled out $100 bills and tossed them at him, even chucking some in the water.

BTW, Thakore's done some backpedaling since the ugly exchange -- he now says, "The interaction that occurred yesterday was regrettable. What started as a minor misunderstanding escalated into an argument, and I apologize for my actions and to those who witnessed the unfortunate exchange."

FWIW ... One of Thakore’s employees claims the whole thing began because other dock workers blocked him from boarding the yacht.

Oh, and if that fancy Lambo yacht looks familiar -- it's the same one Chuck Liddell recently tumbled off just last month. Now it's famous AND infamous!
