Celebrities Accused Of 'Yachting' In Hollywood — And What Being A 'Yacht Girl' Really Means

Rumors suggest some women are paid to play..

It’s easy to be envious when seeing the Instagram photos of young, carefree celebrity women seemingly having the time of their lives on yachts floating in exotic waters and in the VIP sections of the most exclusive clubs.

However, rumor has it there is much more than meets the eye when it comes to these ‘yacht girls’ and their extravagant lifestyles.

What is a yacht girl?

According to Urban Dictionary , a yacht girl is “an attractive young woman who finds ways to get access to luxurious surroundings by being available to wealthy men.”

For example, you may follow a woman or two on Instagram who always seems to be partying or vacationing somewhere expensive (notably without ever showing who she’s actually with). This is a person you could potentially describe as being a yacht girl.

And it’s not just those Instagram models and wannabe stars that are considered yacht girls. As you work up the wealth chain, you may be surprised to recognize some celebrity names synonymous with yachting.

What is 'yachting' in Hollywood?

In Hollywood, the term yacht girl essentially means a woman who works as an escort for high-end clientele , not just on yachts but for any social event.

While the practice has only somewhat recently gained mainstream notoriety, if you think back on the many tabloid photos of models and actresses on yachts from years past, it appears to be something that's gone on in Hollywood “for 60 years,” according to Elie Nahas, who ran a Beirut-based modeling agency before being arrested on charges of running a prostitution ring in 2007.

In 2013, "The Hollywood Reporter" ran a feature describing this so-called yachting during the Cannes Film Festival.

“Every year during the festival there are 30 or 40 luxury yachts in the bay at Cannes, and every boat belongs to a very rich person. Every boat has about 10 girls on it; they are usually models, and they are usually nude or half nude,” Nahas told THR.

At the end of the night, each woman would receive a “gift,” a generous amount of money that the client would put in an envelope for her.

And while many of these women were self-proclaimed local prostitutes and escorts, the Cannes Film Festival is, of course, known for its celebrity attendees — and it’s rumored that celebrity women trying to fast-track a name for themselves in Hollywood become yacht girls, too.

“Women installed on yachts in Cannes during the film festival are called ‘yacht girls,’ and the line between professional prostitutes and B- or C-list Hollywood actresses and models who accept payment for sex with rich older men is sometimes very blurred, explains one film industry veteran,” Dana Kennedy wrote for THR.

Some women in Hollywood have accused their celebrity peers of being yacht girls.

A 2017 blind item (celebrity gossip that doesn’t outwardly name the celebrity) allegedly written by a struggling actress describes being lured by another actress into the world of yachting :

“The actress I was talking to made it sound super easy and that she only had [sex] a few times with guys while yachting and that it was mostly partying and being arm candy,” she writes, explaining that eventually she agreed to try it for $25,000 upfront, but admitting that the experience was less than glamorous.

Blind item readers guessed that Canadian actress Vanessa Lengies wrote the blind item and further surmised that it may be one of the Glee actresses Naya Rivera or Heather Morris that introduced her to yachting. None of these claims have ever been substantiated.

If you believe the rumors, it would seem that yachting is a rite of passage for women hoping to “make it” in Hollywood, and even some celebrities we now consider A-List are thought to be former yacht girls.

In an excerpt from her 2021 memoir , “My Body,” Emily Ratajkowski details being paid $25,000 at the start of her career to go to the Superbowl with now-disgraced Malaysian financier Jho Low, who "‘just liked to have famous men and women around,’” she explains her manager told her at the time.

She writes about attending the star-studded Coachella on someone else’s dime, having drinks paid for at clubs, and attending afterparties with Oscar-winning actors before actually becoming a celebrity herself.

One could infer from this recollection that, in order to be able to tell these stories, Ratajkowski was herself a yacht girl. “My Body” suggests as much, and in it, she subtly gives away the identity of another celebrity woman who yachted alongside her.

Ratajkowski describes watching as Low gave shots to a Victoria’s Secret model. While she doesn’t name drop, Ratajkowski gives just enough information for readers to figure who that model likely was.

“Now she kept her eyes locked on him as he took his shot, throwing her head back dramatically as he did, only to quickly toss the alcohol over her shoulder,” Ratajkowski writes. “When he faced her again, her eyes sparkled and the famous dimples appeared on her cheeks.”

Low has since become a fugitive wanted for allegedly running an international money laundering scheme, and in 2017, Reuters reported that model Miranda Kerr — known for her dimples — was being ordered to return “diamond pendants, earrings and other jewelry worth about $8 million” that Low allegedly gifted her to government agents.

In 2017, Ratajkowski also posted a video on Instagram potentially outing Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber as yacht girls as they danced aboard a yacht during that year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Many people have also accused Meghan Markle of yachting (but then again, what haven't people accused Markle of at this point).

People have pointed to an old photo of Markle on a yacht as proof that she’s a former yacht girl.

Another old blind item also suggested the former actress was available to “rent.”

"If you see B actress post scantily clad photos of themselves on Social Media, this is often a Comm to [them] that this person is available to ‘rent’ for a weekend of ‘yachting,’” the tweet says, including a photo of Markle in a swimsuit.

Markle’s close friendship pre-Harry with actress Priyanka Chopra has naturally led some to guess that Chopra once yachted as well.

Another actress that faces endless rumors of yachting is Russian actress Irina Shayk , which according to THR, is par for the course as the outlet writes that yachting your way to stardom happens with “disturbing frequency,” particularly when it comes to foreign-born actresses.

According to THR, who claims to know “of at least one now-prominent actress who made her first connections on a Cannes yacht and quickly landed her debut role in a U.S.-shot movie,” such as with Shayk’s 2014 film “Hercules,” it’s “a red flag any time you see a foreign-born actress with no credits suddenly make her way into a U.S.-shot movie.”

Of course, when it comes to yachting in Hollywood, all of these claims appear to be unfounded.

These rumors make for good gossip, whether you’re talking about low-level social media influencers or high-profile celebrity actresses.

However, nothing is proven, leaving us to wonder any time we see a photo of women on a yacht.

A photograph of Meghan and Eddie Redmayne at Soho House Istanbul has resurfaced online - years before they partied together at the club's Amsterdam launch this autumn.

The picture shows the smiling pair with London -based photographer Jason Bailey in Turkey in 2015, a year before the now Duchess of Sussex started dating Prince Harry .

Sharing the snap on Twitter , Jason wrote: 'Night in, watching movies and remember fun times with this crew ❤️ #EddieRedmayne @meghanmarkle #istanbul'

Meghan, 37, and Old Etonian Eddie, 36, were reunited this September, when they both attended the star-studded launch of the new Soho House in Istanbul.

Photographer Jason shared the snap on Twitter in 2015, captioning it 'fun times with this crew'. They are believed to have been in Istanbul for the launch of a new Soho House 

In the photograph shared by Jason, Meghan is seen wearing jeans and a white T-shirt, with a leather jacket over the top.

Meanwhile, Eddie was also dressed down in a denim jacket and navy chinos while at the glitzy event in Istanbul.

Soho House is an exclusive private members' club that charges members £830 a year for admittance to one house and £1,500 for its 'houses' across the world.

Both Meghan and Harry are known to be a big fan of the chain, and are understood to have had their first date at Soho House's Dean Street Townhouse in London.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex - who is close friends with owner Markus Anderson - has previously stayed at Soho Farmhouse in the Cotswolds, sharing Instagram snaps of her and Millie Mackintosh there back in 2016, when her romance with Harry was beginning.

Was mucky minx meghan markle a ‘yacht girl’ for ‘randy andy’.

As author Kirby Sommers suggests that the then Meghan Markle likely spent time with Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein before she met Prince Harry, we again highlight the mucky, murkiness and mendacious manner of this alleged “yacht girl”

In January 2020 , following a tip from a renowned journalist from a national newspaper, The Steeple Times asked: “Did the then Meghan Markle meet Prince Andrew before she met Prince Harry? Or did she meet the friend of the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein first?”

Now, just as the fallout from Tom Bower’s Revenge book continues to excite Twitter and her pugnacious PR peddler Omid Scobie announces that he’s writing a sequel to Finding Freedom , this very question has again resurfaced.

Discussed in a 35:49-minute podcast shared on YouTube late last week, crusading author of Ghislaine Maxwell: An Unauthorized Biography Kirby Sommers examines the connections between the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Andrew, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Effectively suggesting Markle’s mate, Markus Anderson of Soho House, to be a ‘connector’ going back as far as 2001, Sommers argues the mainstream media “may have a photo of her” on a yacht in Phuket, Thailand “cavorting” with Prince Andrew at the behest of the mucky madam Maxwell and the since croaked paedophile Epstein.

Going further, the author also provides evidence of Markle having been invited to the ‘Yacht Week 2016’ in Croatia by an individual named Adam Haun . Founded by William Wenkel in 2006 and described as “Sodom and Gommorah at sea” by GQ in 2015, it is unknown whether then actress attended the hedonistic “Tinder at sea” event that one participant, Sweet Home Alabama dating show ‘bachelor’ Tribble Reese lauded as “like the Bahamas on steroids!”

Concluding on Twitter, Sommers observed: “[The Duchess of Sussex] is controlled by the same forces that controlled Jeffrey Epstein.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Duke of York andn their representatives, unsurprisingly, failed to respond to requests for comment.

• Questions remain as to how many times she’s actually been married in total. Some say twice, some say thrice.

This woman ie the mattress actress, has to be older than 40. I remember some woman saying she had a kid. Hmmm, that seems to have disappeared from the internet. With all the heavy makeup & those chicken legs,boobs that resemble inverted carrots, those (alleged😂) johns, must have drank lots of boooooze, to touch that. Meghan looks uncomfortable all the time …there is no real Meghan me thinks.Im imagining her down time being spent designing her next uncomfortable effort. She or he says ole Mm was at the local Soho House or whatever it’s called. apparently they called her the planned paparazzi actress. Now look @ my shocked face😗! Haha

5 Things to Know About Markus Anderson, Meghan Markle's Close Friend

The Soho House Consultant joined Meghan on her trip to New York City.

While on her whirlwind trip to New York City this week, Meghan Markle was spotted out with her friend Markus Anderson. After her baby shower yesterday, the Duchess reportedly went out to dinner with him, Serena Williams, and Jessica Mulroney at Ralph Lauren's restaurant The Polo Bar. Unsure of who Anderson is? He and Meghan have been close for years. Here's everything you need to know to catch you up to speed on their relationship.

He works for Soho House.

Anderson is a consultant for Soho House, a members-only club with locations all over the world from New York and London to Toronto, Istanbul, and Mumbai.

He was born in Canada.

While his career has taken him all over the globe, Anderson was born in Canada, and apparently his upbringing has influenced his taste in beverages.

"Although I’m prone to drink almost anything, I’m partial to either champagne or beer," he told the Coveteur. "I grew up in Ontario, after all."

He and Meghan are very close.

Back when Meghan's social media profiles were public, they revealed a timeline of their relationship. Not only have they taken vacations together, but she regularly sang his praises on her Instagram account."What would I do without you, my loving, supportive, and endlessly fun friend??" she said about Anderson in a now-deleted post. "I know what....I would be bored, and life would be infinitely less interesting. I love you SO much. Happiest of days for you now and always. Love you xx"

Anderson is reportedly responsible for Meghan and Harry's royal romance.

While some rumors point to designer Misha Nonoo as the matchmaker (Markle's close friend, Nonoo was, until recently, married to Alexander Gilkes, a friend of Princes William and Harry), it has also been reported that Anderson, who apparently knows the Prince socially, set the pair up in May of 2016.

"He asked Markus if he could set up, not a date, but an opportunity for them to meet and that happened in one of the private rooms of Soho House," Nicholls alleges.

"There were about seven or eight of them altogether and it was a perfect opportunity for Harry and Meghan to come together in a really informal environment and actually talk."

Apparently, the rest is history.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are hardly his only famous friends.

While Anderson has been called Markle's "best friend," he is known to associate with the likes of designers like Nonoo, Christopher Kane, and the late Alexander McQueen, model Alexa Chung, and actor Jamie Dornan.

Summers suggests that Marcus Anderson of Soho House played a pivotal role as a connector as far back as 2001.

Some argue that mainstream media possesses a photo of Markle on a yacht in Phuket, Thailand, allegedly with Prince Andrew at the request of the now-deceased Epstein.

Summers concludes on Twitter by stating that the Duchess of Sussex is controlled by the same forces that controlled Epstein.

Every year during the festival, there are 30 or 40 luxury yachts in the bay at Cannes, and every boat belongs to a very rich person.

Every boat has about 10 girls on it.

They're usually models, and they're usually n^de or half-nude.

At the end of the night, each woman would receive a gift, a generous amount of money that the client would put in an envelope for her.

According to sources, Megan is putting herself in the same exact crowd as Andrew, with the same friends, and the same connections.

This is why they shouldn't have ever said anything about Andrew.

The connections are going to be made, and whether Megan is innocent or not won't matter.

After stepping back from royal duties, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with Prince Andrew , will not be amongst the guests at the state event, which is being hosted by King Charles.

A bar and lounge, the drawing room showcased an incredible antique fireplace in addition to apple-green leather chairs, silver cutlery, patterned curtains, flickering candlelight, dark teal walls and wooden tables.

The screening room is lined with plush, burnt orange velvet armchairs and mood-setting yellow lamps. Guests can relax in the darkened space and tune out from the bustling sound of the Soho streets.

Soho House Courtyard and Cafe

The courtyard and café are other spaces where guests can relax and chitchat with friends. The café is lined with large glass walls which allows light to flood the open-plan space, in addition to comfortable armchairs for lounging and a white-washed patio to take advantage of during the warmer weather. Coffees are up for grabs by day and cocktails by night.

One of the world’s finest opera and ballet halls is returning to active service this year.

The Bolshoi Theatre, the second largest opera house in Europe, is one of the most instantly recognizable monuments in the Russian capital. After that it is mostly some kind of electronic music. The club is frequented by beautiful Russian girls around 18-25 years old, stunning students or models, and of course there is a good deal of young Russians, middle-aged men and foreign tourists trying their luck! Unlike many other nightclubs, the Icon is a pure nightclub and not a club turned into a restaurant. In any case, if you like to party in a big club and want to savor the typical Moscow nightlife , this is the perfect solution.

The crowd is the same as in other high-end Moscow clubs. Men are rarely under the age of 35 and are committed to giving the impression that money is not an issue. The women are amazing even by Moscow nightlife - if you want to meet Moscow's super models, this is the place! Ideal if you want to toast with the Moscow elite.

The club is located on two floors. The lower floor is mainly frequented by people hanging out at the bar and is good for conversation. The narrow stairs that perfectly fit the student atmosphere of the club take you to the main floor where the real party takes place, complete with a bedlam and girls dancing on the bar counter. In the summer months there is also an outdoor terrace. The place is always crowded and bouncers unnecessarily queue people - having a table or someone inside can be the key to skipping the queue. Otherwise, you might end up waiting half an hour or more. Come early or come back late if you want to avoid the crowds.

The crowd that frequents this club is quite mixed. People are less trendy and more underground. The place is suitable for afterhours, so most people arrive from 3am onwards.

Immediately upon entering, you will have the feeling that you have come to the local high school graduation prom instead of a real Moscow nightclub. There is no real interior design, but basically just a large hall with a stage and a bar. The crowd is almost entirely made up of teenagers and young people. Not many of the teens speak English, but it probably doesn't matter after all the alcohol. The music ranges from Russian pop and hip-hop to the most famous international hits. Perfect if you want to party and drink alcohol in one of the cheapest clubs in Moscow .

Oblaka plays a mix of Russian and international pop music. Occasionally, as in many other clubs, there are performances by Russian pop singers. As is often the case in these types of clubs, the music and DJ are not the best but the guests don't seem to care.

Moscow's bars and pubs

The bar looks similar but still distinctly different than regular Moscow posh clubs. Most of the people who frequent this place are over 25, and you can find everything from young professionals to creative types to self-proclaimed models. Great if you want to see the "real Muscovites" celebrate without the overblown flashes of wealth. The proposed music is a strange mix of old and new commercial songs and Russian pop.

Downstairs is a large open space that opens its doors wide in the summer. The interior is rustic, yet elegant, with wooden furnishings and plenty of seating. The interior combined with Ugolek's popularity creates a crowded yet intimate atmosphere, especially on weekends. People come to chat, drink and eat. The upstairs bar has a more welcoming atmosphere. It is smaller, with soft lighting and armchairs to be able to relax. On weekends there is a DJ who mixes electronic music and transforms the bar into a relaxed place, ideal for the pre-party.

Located in Pokrovsky Boulevard, Mono Bar is a famous hangout spot for people from the LGBTQIA community. The club was started in 2014 and, since then, has gained a lot of regular customers. Mostly you will be able to hear European as well as Russian music at this club. There is a balcony which is the smoking area. After-party clubs in Moscow

But at night, you can party at Entuziast till late at night. Mostly the hipsters tend to party at this place. The bar is made up of metal, and you can see racing flags all over the place. I have been living in Moscow now for 8 months, I was very lucky to have a few contacts here before i arrived and was told of the top night spots, Sohorooms being at the top of that list. This place makes you feel like... you are a very important person, it oozes opulence and the decor is very low lit stylish and seductive. After checking your coat at the lobby you will be escorted to your table upstairs in the restaurant which boasts a wonderful terrace and swimming pool in the summer, and d.j's spinning the latest cool tunes by the Bar. The food here is absolutely second to none with Brit chef Laura Bridges heading the Kitchen. The menu is extensive and i have tried various meals all of which were delicious. The meat is so tasty and the fish extremely fresh, everything is home made and the menu is changed regularly so it never becomes dull. They serve Sushi but with a modern twist and also traditional russian with an up to date tweak. I thoroughly enjoy myself here the staff are always close by and attentive and at the same time very subtle. The atmosphere is lively and friendly. It is a great place to people watch and take in the Russian social life of the rich and famous. Downstairs you have a private club where you can dance the night away to live bands and great music there are various rooms. If i have guests visiting from afar i always take them to Soho as it is a place that stands alone there is no other like it, it is a true Russian experience of Moscows exclusive night life crowd. The food is great and the staff are friendly. I have never had any problems here and have always been looked after. It is quite expensive but the food quality and presentation is top so it is worth every Ruble. I think its a great place, you have to go to SohoRooms when you come to Moscow or you have not seen Moscow! Sally Johnson More

Seeing mixed reviews of this place I wanted to share my experience. I had a table for 8-10 people and spent about 100,000 Roubles (USD 1,500) from 9.30pm-4am so decide whether you think its pricey or not. As well as a couple of bottles of... Jack Daniels and lots of cocktails we had several sharing platters of oriental food, a mixed seafood platter, a tom yam soup and a few main courses. All the food was really well prepared, tasty and fresh and was far better than my expectations. A shisha later on was also excellent and maintained the high standards that had been set by the food. The service from arriving at the door, to being seated and looked after by the guys and girls on the terrace was also excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The club itself had a great atmosphere with its own style of Russian type house music and everybody in the club was certainly getting into the night. The crowd (well at least the girls!) were one of the best looking bunch I've ever been around, everybody really friendly and approachable so no complaints on that front either. The disco room downstairs was closed on the night we were there and is only open on Fridays and Saturdays but if the terrace upstairs was anything to go by I am sure that it will be fab too. I thought it was great value in Soho Rooms considering the quality of the evening and will defo be back next time in Moscow. More

Free entry for all male foreign bankers is probably a suitable summary, you can decide whether this is your cup of tea...80% girls, good music, good cocktails, nice VIP area but I'm getting a bit old for all this. Got a go home SMS from... the wife so left at 6am with mild tinnitus desperate for sleep... More

We went there on a Thursday night for a late dinner with friends. We're Moscow residents, so we're perfectly aware that in Moscow places are divided into two large categories: 1) trendy places with cool people ("tusovka") and good location, but commonplace food like never-ending... Caesar salads, sushi and Mojito; 2) places with good food but usually not the best location and no "tusovka". We usually prefer the second option, though having a cocktail in a trendy atmosphere also has its charm. But it's almost impossible to combine the two((( Either you want to enjoy food or the traditional Russian glamour and "ponty")))) So our first impression of Soho Rooms was the traditional (for Moscow venues) procedure of negotiating with the doormen. Well, we knew about the legendary place and were dressed up. But it was Thursday and we didn't expect any hype about that. The bouncers were rude and haughty, which is quite typical in Moscow and is an absolute nonsense for Europe and USA. You can be dressed in authentic Marc Jacobs and have a Visa Gold but you don't have this triumphant self-conceited "hey, morons, I'm the coolest guy / chick out there" look on your face, you're sure to face unfriednly treatment at the door. And if you're wearing a fake leopard fur and a fake Louis Vuitton purse and your face says "I don't give a damn, I'm gonna go and rock the place" you're welcome! I think this door procedure is a real Moscow attraction. After we got in we realized that the place was almost empty. On the second floor there were a few people eating sushi and sipping lemonade. But a level higher there was a disco starting out on the terrace and people were pulling up. Ladies wearing extra short dresses were lining up along the bar and expecting big things to come. Older gentlemen were smoking cigars and slowly consuming alcohol to gain courage to let the big things happen. This was also a traditional Moscow scene... Later the dance floor was crowded with small people groups floating from one another to say hello and stuff, there were only few girls dancing passionately which was a desperate try to find companions. Most people didn't dance or move at all, rather pretending to have serious talks though the music was very loud. Now about the food, it was plain and commonplace. We ordered some Asian-style meat and a salad. All was OK, but nothing more to say about... The smoothies were also all right, except for the fact that they were too sweet, apparently they added some syrup in there. So I think that there are far more interesting places in Moscow. This one is really a place for people with "ponty"))) More

I went twice to Soho room. I knew about the exclusiveness of the place and went there each time with dressed up friends ready to party and spend money. First time I got food-poisoned and spent the 3 hours after dinner vomiting in the toilets... while people had moved from their dinner tables to the dance floor. I suspect the jelly shots i had for desert, but it could have been the sushis or the carpaccio I also tried. I still went back 2 years later and this time couldn't get my Thai soup. I specifically asked 'no coriander, please' and the waitress said 'of course', then brought the soup covered with fresh coriander. I sent it back and 20 minutes later, she took the spoon away from me and when I asked about my soup, she said the coriander was in there so no soup for me. Then I got the wok beef where 2 thirds of the pieces were pure fat, absolutely no meat, and probably not beef (see picture). And then of course, the soup was on the bill! When I asked then to remove it, they said 'you didn't provide any explanation for sending it back'. So i explained to the same person who agreed in the first place that I ordered without coriander and she replied that the chef said there was no coriander in the soup' !!! Long story short, it's unsafe and bad food with very rude and dishonnest service, with poor quality music and clubbing atmosphere. I don't understand why people would still go. There so many other nicer and coller places in Moscow. More

money for nothing, absurdly high-priced drinks there were more bouncers than customers they are clearly doing you a favor letting you enter, what a shallow joke the place is

We have been to Soho Rooms in the first week of January - although we went there at around 10p.m. it was almost empty. This could ensure that we get great service, but I don`t think this was the case. Although the food was quite... good and the setting was hip and elegant, the waiter did neither know what grape variety the wine was (out of the four open wines that they offered, one of them did not indicate the grape - the waiter when asked what wine it is, just answered "red"), nor did he ever said "you are welcome" as a response to me 20-times saying "Spasibo" ("Thank you"). Maybe many people will say now that these are peanuts, but I would say that most of us going in such restaurants know what a 5-Star Service does look like and these are the small things, that distinguish good service from excellent one. I would forgo this little bad experience if there would not have been the next one: before finishing our meal (we were the last ones in the restaurant), I asked the waiter, whether they could call us a taxi (another matter of fact, which is done easily in every good restaurant, especially when the guests are not locals), he looked out of the window and told us that there are many taxis waiting outside. I was already sceptic when he said that, as this restaurant is relatively far away from the centre and at that day the entire street was completely empty (reminding me rather of a remote scary street in an industrial area than a hip neighborhood in Moscow), but I trusted him, as I naively thought that in a 5-Star restaurant, where the cheapest wine bottle cost around 100 euro, the waiter would not lie to me out of (I assume) laziness to deal with two tourists and their taxi. As soon as we left the restaurant, I did not even stand outside the entrance, I saw that there were not taxis, nowhere. I asked the front door guy whether he could call us a taxi, but he just rolled his eyes and said that we will have to wait until a taxi drives by and just stop it ourselves. I was a little bit shocked, as honestly, this was not the 5th avenue, but rather a shaddy street in the middle of nowhere (at least during labor days) and no car came by at all. I stepped outside the restaurant, looked around and decided to go inside again and ask decisively for a taxi, however when I pushed the door it was already looked and the bodyguard just left. So we were standing at 1 am out in the cold, by ourselves, in the middle of some scary area, no metro, no bus station, no taxi even close to us. It took us another 30 minutes to see a taxi drive by ( by the time some strange three guys passed our way, asking my boyfriend "why he is looking at them", trying to start a fight), when I stopped the taxi, the taxi driver wanted a much higher price than usually (and I am a native Russian, so it is not because he thought we were two tourists), but we paid it and finally got to our hotel. My final conclusion for Soho Rooms is: They might have a fancy setting and good food (however, we live in Barcelona and what Soho Rooms has to offer is in my eyes nothing out of this world; In Europe this would be just a hip and fancy restaurant/bar, nothing else) brought in from the West, but they have still not learned how to treat your customers in the right way. An excellent restaurant experience is not only the great food, nor is it a special interior. It is above all an excellent service that complements the food and the interior. In my opinion, Soho Rooms has not reached it yet. More

This place discriminate people because of their nationality! You don’t need more details! Just believe me and don’t go there ! Wrote them and said it was a language barrier, but it wasn’t because they did speak pretty good English ! Or that’s what they... seemed More

The best (only) reason to go here is post-post-midnight (preferably post-2am) for the hip hop scene when mobsters and prostitutes(?) and their hangers-on arrive. Excellent DJs, dancing girls, goblets of caviar, shots of vodka (natch), Champagne with fireworks etc etc. Excess in excess is the... only point. Leavened with some scary security dudes/omnipresent possibility of danger. Especially check out the scene outside from time to time, where things get frantic and large men with bad attitudes rule. If you leave at 5 am you are missing the good stuff. And navigating the taxi queue is epic! Moscow at its most delinquent And Saturday night from 1am - 6am we were the only non-Russians there, as far as I could tell. Awesome More

I came here a little while back with some friends. Went for dinner first. Then went clubbing in the same place afterwards. Pros: Food was good. It was amazing the selection of dishes on the menu. For example, they had sushi on the menu! I... couldn't believe it. Sushi in Moscow! The decor was a bit bling bling, but definitely very nice. However the TAKE HOME message is that this is definitely the place to go clubbing. The place was stuffed full with supermodel-like young women. If you're a young single man in Russia, you have to come here. But what was most memorable was later in the evening at about 2am. Suddenly management brought out all these models on to the rooftop swimming pool. Who then proceed to take all their tops off, and just randomly started to do synchronised swimming completely topless! Definitely a real experience. Cons: It was expensive. But that's understandable for this kind of establishment. The club offers quite strict "face control". My understanding is that the club is reluctant to let less "aesthetically pleasing" (ie. ugly) people into the club. One way around this is to turn up very early, eat at the restaurant. And then continue into the club later. That way, you can avoid "face control". In summary. This is top establishment. And definitely worth coming to Moscow for. Especially for "people watching". More

If you have only one night in Moscow and would like to have a comprehensive dining-out and clubbing experience, Soho Rooms Restaurant in Moscow is definitely the place to go! The atmosphere is exquisite and the food is meticulously excellent with a mix of fusion... cuisine with select Russian dishes. Apart all the glamour, it is the attention to food and the service that really differentiate this place from other evening venues in the city, thanks to the international top-notch chef running the show at the kitchen and the restaurant. For those who have got the hang of the local night life, I highly recommend the panoramic wood and glass terrace with a cute pool and rattan furniture for lunch or a relaxed but thorough and wholesome brunch with friends or family enjoying the view over the Moskva river, white-frozen in Winter and blistering in the razing afternoon sun light in Summer, and the cityscape with conserved red and white chimneys of the Moscow thermal power station, creating nice break-away backdrop for urban design lovers or simply those in search of a high quality restaurant with a difference, set in a restored and converted XIX century manufacturing estate. It is one of those places in Moscow where one can feel why this city despite its all crapness is actually so great! More

This is a 3 story establishment known as Soho Rooms and Navolne Restaurant. Oysters and Steak are my favorite dishes. Variety of beverages and prices are not so high. The club at the 3rd floor terrace is great. There is a small decorative pool, too.... Must see! More

Russians dressed to the nines crowd this upscale locale which has a 3 floor setup. The party gets busy after 12pm which features overpriced drinks and a somewhat upscale crowd. More

Luxury location, full of expensive clothes, shows, cars , girls..everything ! Good music and good sound. Located in the center of the city.

Great views over the river in the upstairs bar/restaurant. Had sushi between three which came served I a billowing cloud of dry ice - spectacular. The taste lived up to the presentation, melt-in-the-mouth crazy monkey and dragon dishes.
