Prince Abdulaziz is a 147 metre yacht built in 1984, making it the largest yacht built in the 20th Century.
Indeed, Prince Abdulaziz held the crown the for world's largest yacht until it was outstripped by Dubai (also listed) in 2006.
As one of the yachts of the Saudi Royal Family, Prince Abdulaziz is used to conduct official business as well as for pleasure. The interior alone took 15 months to complete. Originally built for the late King Fahd of Saudi Arabia who named the yacht after his son, it is now owned by his brother Abddullah.
Prince Abdullaziz was custom built by Helsingor Vaerft; one of Denmark's largest shipyards dating back to the late 19th Century, until their close in the 1980s due to increased competition from new foreign arrivals.
This mega-yacht also features interior design by the late David Hicks, an English interior decorator and designer whose distinct use of bold colours, lighting and combination of modern and classical features earned him a distinguishable reputation in many countries around the world during his lifetime.

The late English designer David Hicks is featured as a designer for the interior, whose style contained bold colors and lightning. He also mixed traditional design with modern design. Her interior has lavish fabrics and regal-looking furniture and interior design details. Mixing old-fashioned styles with the modern, her interior gives off a luxurious feeling.  SpecificationsThe PRINCE ABDULAZIZ yacht is 147 meters long (482 ft), and has a beam of 18,3 meters (60 ft). The draft is 4,88 meters (16 ft), and the yacht can reach a maximum speed of 22 knots. The cruising speed is 18 knots. She is powered by two Semt Pielstick diesel engines and is propelled by two 5,816 kW Pielstick diesel generator sets. She has the capacity to keep up to 64 guests and a crew of 65 and was built in Denmark by the Helsingør Værft.  With a steel hull and teak deck, designer Maieform Maritime has created a luxurious exterior. There was also a refitting in 2005. With her white and blue exterior, she gives off a regal look, to say the least. Her hull and superstructure are both made from steel, and the decks are teak. Pangeos terayacht: Saudi Arabia proposed as location for $8bn 'floating city' megaproject Italian design house Pierpaolo Lazzarini has revealed plans for a gigantic $8bn turtle-shaped terayacht, with Saudi Arabia as the proposed location for the project. If funded, the project would be the world's largest water structure. The boat, Pangeos, a name derived from the prehistoric supercontinent Pangea, could potentially house up to 60,000 guests. The Lazzarini design house is known for its ambitious luxury transportation concepts. Earlier this year, it unveiled a flying superyacht concept powered by helium, named Air Yacht. While the specific interiors of Pangeos have not yet been revealed, Lazzarini expects construction to start around 2033 and the eight-year project to cost around $8bn. “Translating this into a somewhat futuristic expression, Pangeos extends its length for 550 metres and measures 610 metres at its widest point - the wings,” Lazzarini said on the project's website.  The terayacht will house 19 private villas and 64 apartments on each of the turtle wings, and will be equipped with nine HTS electric engines, each capable of 16,800 horsepower, which would allow the massive structure to cruise at a speed of five knots. In its presentation of Pangeos, Lazzarini proposed Saudi Arabia as the location for the terayacht. The designers posit that “due to a perfect scenario configuration and logistics, we imagined the shipyard to be based in Saudi Arabia” in an area with direct access to the sea. Lazzarini envisages the King Abdullah Port, 81 miles north of Jeddah, as the ideal site for the terayacht shipyard, the construction would require building a circular dam and around one square kilometre of the sea to be cleared.  Pangeos virtual properties are now available for interested buyers. Through an Unreal Estate NFT crowdfunding initiative, people can buy any virtual space on the vessel, ranging from a regular passenger entrance ticket to a terrace or super villa. “The purchased NFT will work also as deposit and exclusive rights from the virtual to the real space,” said Lazzarini.  Outlandish plansApproving giant lavish architectural projects would not be something new for Saudi Arabia. In recent years, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia's de facto leader, has been pushing forward ambitious projects with the aim of steering the kingdom's economy away from petrodollars. At the centre of these efforts are the planned construction of a $500bn futuristic desert city, Neom, and a $27bn megaproject in the holy city of Mecca. The Neom project includes a 170km straight-line city, touted to be 33 times the size of New York City, an eight-sided city that floats on water, a ski resort with a folded vertical village , and other eyebrow-raising ideas, such as flying elevators and an urban spaceport. So far, little has been constructed, but large sums have been paid to consultants and increasingly outlandish plans revealed. Yet Saudi authorities have sought to clear areas along 170km of northwestern Tabuk province of its residents, many of whom belong to the Howeitat tribe . In September, two members of the tribe, Abdulilah al-Howeiti, and Abdullah Dukhail al-Howeiti, were handed a 50-year prison term and a 50-year travel ban for supporting their family's refusal to be forcibly evicted from their homes in Tabuk. The tribe and human rights groups have raised their concerns with the companies working on Neom, including an open letter to three consultancies calling on them to cease their engagement "unless and until" adverse human rights impacts were addressed.
