You awake in one of two master suites, one on the upper deck with 180 degree views forward and the other on the main deck. Head for the upper deck aft for a delicious breakfast before settling in the sun lounge aft to discuss the day's plans with the captain. If the morning heat is too intense, start the day in the air conditioned main saloon at the formal dining table and make plans in the lounge opposite.

After breakfast, the children race eagerly down to the portside swim platform where the deck crew has prepared all the watertoys for a morning adrenaline rush. Other guests may choose to work out in the gym, or for an easier start to the day, head for the sauna and hammam where there is a massage table too.

In the afternoon, while the captain sails you to the next amazing destination, enjoy a movie in the main deck cinema lounge or catch up on some emails in the private owner's office on the bridge deck.

As dusk falls in your new anchorage, take in the spectacular sunset with a sundowner in the foredeck lounge and toast another amazing day before sampling the chef's gastronomic extravaganza on the upper deck aft.

Turquoise Yachts ’ latest boat may look like an old-timey steamer, but underneath its eye-catching exterior is a state-of-the-art expedition vessel.

The Blue II is the ideal fusion of old and new, effortlessly blending retro flair with advanced 21st-century technology. That tech also gives the 184-foot explorer versatility, allowing it to be as adept at cruising through the Mediterranean as it is navigating through the ice-strewn waters of the Arctic.

The Turkish-built ship’s exterior was designed by Andre Hoek of Hoek Design , and is the firm’s first and only motor yacht project. The boat’s handsome profile recalls classic steamships of the golden age of yachting. With the interior areas positioned at the vessel’s center, the boat has four spacious decks—one towards the bow, the other three near the stern—providing loads of space for entertaining or just laying out and catching some rays. She also offers plenty of garage space, including room for two tenders and two wave runners.

The interior, which was also styled by Hoek in cooperation with Vickers Studio and Dols Home , features classic elements, like teak detailing in a modern setting. The accommodations include a spacious owner’s suite, a VIP suite and four guest cabins. There’s also plenty of space for communal mingling, with a saloon and dining area on the mid-deck, a sky lounge. Meanwhile, the upper deck can help keep you relaxed and in shape while you cruise, offering a gym, massage room, sauna and Turkish bath.

But Blue II is as capable as she is stylish. Despite being the shipbuilder’s first ice yacht, she is an authentic explorer that’s been designated ice class 1B, so she’s hardy enough to travel through the polar regions and Northwest Passage. In addition to the ship’s many sea-keeping characteristics, she’s equipped with an IMO Tier III diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system coupled to a Renk reduction gearbox. All that lets her cruise at speeds of up to 13 knots.

Construction on the Blue II ’s hull begain in late 2016, but it wasn’t complete until last year. Despite the disruptions caused by Covid-19, the ship launched in May and was delivered to its undoubtedly appreciative owner during the summer.

Sneak peek: Interior of Turquoise explorer Blue II revealed

BOAT International has revealed the secretive interior of the 56 metre Turquoise Yachts -built explorer Blue II for the first time ahead of publishing an exclusive feature on the yacht.

Previously known as Project Lombok, Blue II first hit the water in Istanbul in May 12, 2020 after which it spent the summer cruising the Mediterranean.

Blue II's interior décor was developed by Hoek Naval Architects in collaboration with British design studio  Vickers . 

The interior features subtly classic touches and teak detailing throughout, with intimate cosy indoor spaces contrasting with the expansive open decks. Guests on board have a wide range of relaxation options on board.

In total, this 56 metre explorer yacht has an internal volume of 785GT spread across four decks.

Blue II's exterior design meanwhile comes from  André Hoek . 

While Hoek’s design is reminiscent of classic steam ships, the yacht itself is packed with all the latest modern technology such as a diesel-electric propulsion system.

Meanwhile, the state-of-the-art satellite communications dome is integrated into the composite funnel, while the canoe stern conceals an extendable boarding platform with retractable stairs for ease of access.

The Turkish shipyard Turquoise Yachts has announced the launch of its latest vessel, the 55.99m (183’8″) explorer yacht BLUE II , also known as the Project Lombok. She was designed by Hoek Naval Architects boasting beautiful classic exterior lines inspired by steamships, however, featuring the latest in engineering and modern-day luxury amenities. Her interiors are modern but with classic influence visible throughout and were designed in collaboration between Hoek Design and Vickers Studio . The owner was represented by Master Yachts.

Accommodation includes six staterooms for up to 12 guests and includes one large owner’s apartment on the main deck, a VIP suite also on the same deck and four additional guest suites on the lower deck. The owner’s apartment also has a private study/office room. Some of the additional special features include a spacious gym and wellness with a sauna, steam room, massage room and a Turkish bath.

BLUE II superyacht is an Ice-classed vessel created with the ability to explorer some of the most remote areas of this globe such as the polar regions and the northwest passage. She is a classic gentleman-style yacht with a striking image, which includes a sturdy ice-class 1B steel hull and an ice-breaking bow.

She is powered by two IMO Tier III diesel-electric propulsion systems and has two 800 kW e-motors attached to a Renk reduction gearbox in addition to the two CAT C32 830 ekW motors. She is also fitted with four Naiad fin stabilisers for additional stability and comfort for her owner and guests onboard. BLUE II is equipped with two large tenders, which are stored under her deck.

Lovers of classic design and luxury have a new charter yacht to get excited about. Delivered in recent months by Turquoise Yachts, and the only motor yacht ever designed by Hoek Design, 56m (184ft) explorer yacht ‘Blue II’ has announced she will be hosting her first charters around the Mediterranean .

The Dutch design studio responsible for this beautiful vessel has previously worked exclusively on sailing yachts.  Blue II’s  classic linear lines and rounded canoe stern combine to reflect Hoek’s sailing heritage, but behind the retro elegance there is state-of-the-art technology and luxury amenities.

Offering spacious accommodation for 12 guests across six cabins, she is sure to be a popular choice for exploring Mediterranean hotspots such as the dazzling natural beauty of Ibiza or the enchanting coast that makes up the Italian Riviera.

Blue II’s classic linear lines and rounded canoe stern combine to reflect Hoek’s sailing heritage, but behind the retro elegance there is state-of-the-art technology and luxury amenities.

She features an exterior dedicated to outdoor living with an intimate outdoor lounge for entertaining and an outdoor dining table. Both upper and flybridge decks also host excellent seating and lounging areas.

The portside swim platform will be a regular calling point for guests who want to take advantage of Blue II’s extensive collection of tenders and water toys, which include Seabobs, wake boards, water-skis and much more.

Her exterior, beautifully upholstered in light blue integrates seamlessly with the interiors styled by London-based Vickers Studio and Amsterdam-based Dols and Company Interiors. Elegant teak decking and a fresh and neutral color palette create a classic-meets-contemporary character.

The large open plan main deck salon is light and inviting, offering a comfortable respite if the heat of the midday sun is just too much. A clever partition creates a cinema lounge, with comfortable couches and a large wall-mounted Smart TV, perfect for lazy movie nights after a busy day exploring.

The upper deck master cabin offers incredible 180° views forward.

For fitness lovers there is the opportunity to work out in the gym, or for an easier start to the day there is a sauna and steam room, as well as a massage table and Turkish bath.

Blue II provides accommodation for 12 guests across six cabins, with two master cabins. The upper deck master cabin offers incredible 180° views forward, while the main deck Master is adjacent to the fabulous wellness center.

A wonderful blend between classic and contemporary, the retro-chic Blue II is perfect for exploring the majesty of the Mediterranean.
