A former tugboat, VERVECE is now a luxurious yacht charter platform that has been expertly refitted to reflect a contemporary and chic theme.

The 30m/98'5" motor yacht 'Vervece' by shipyard Benetti M&B offers flexible accommodation for up to 10 guests in 4 cabins. She originally served as a tug before being converted into a yacht by Palumbo in 2012.

Built in 1964, Vervece is the ideal luxury yacht for kicking back and relaxing whilst on charter, showcasing clever use of space with an artful combination of integrated systems and luxurious features, she's a crowd-pleaser for sure.

Guest Accommodation

Vervece offers guest accommodation for up to 10 guests in 4 suites comprising a master suite, one VIP cabin and two twin cabins. There are 6 beds in total, including 1 king, 1 queen and 4 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 5 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

Whatever your activities on your charter, you'll find some impressive features are seamlessly integrated to help you, notably air conditioning to keep your comfortable throughout your charter.

Performance & Range

Built with a steel hull and steel superstructure, she offers greater on-board space and is more stable when at anchor thanks to her full-displacement hull. Powered by twin Cummins engines, she comfortably cruises at 10 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 14 knots with a range of up to 3,000 nautical miles from her 59,500 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots.

Converted into a luxury vessel from a 30m tug, the luxury motor yacht Vervece is a beautiful vessel, launched by the Italian builder Palumbo Shipyard in 2013 after a full refit. Originally built in 1964 by Benetti, she offers accommodation for 8 charter guests, over 4 cabins (with 2 additional pullmans). The Vervece superyacht is Charter Class as well as MCA compliant bringing her up to luxury yacht standards.

The Tug Vervece’s interior now has a cool, calm ‘beach house’ look in contemporary style. Neutral fabrics paired with light woods are welcoming. Her main salon offers a generous lounge aft, with plush soft goods and full entertainment systems, while forward is the formal dining, laid to a semi-open plan. The master stateroom is on the main deck forward and full beam of the yacht. An upper lounge has a casual ambiance, ideal for relaxing with a book.

VERVECE Specifications

The exterior living is plentiful with 3 decks to chose from. On the main level is a shaded exterior lounge, which is adjacent to the salon and perfect for social occasions. Her upper aft deck features alfresco dining. There is a cozy sundeck available above the pilot house.

Twin Cummins diesel engines with a power of 746Kw @ 1800 rpm can propel the 30m luxury yacht Vervece to a comfortable cruising speed of 12 knots and a range of 3000 miles at cruising speed for a gross tonnage of about 300t. Her beam is of 7.70m.

Yacht Charter Accommodation

The Vervece yacht can accommodate 10 charter guests in four staterooms, including a master suite with a queen sized bed, a VIP stateroom with a queen bed and two twins + pullmans. All staterooms have 32 inch satellite televisions and all have full en suite facilities.

Vervece is a custom motor yacht launched in 1964 by Benetti, in Italy and most recently refitted in 2013.

Over one century of history, more than 350 boats built including three giga yachts of 100mt and longer, over 300,000 sq m (3.229.173 sq.ft) of production facilities. These facts and figures unambiguously demonstrate the momentum of Benetti’s growth and Clients’ unrestrained confidence in the brand.

Vervece measures 30.00 metres in length, with a max draft of 3.16 feet and a beam of 3.16 feet. She has a gross tonnage of 199 tonnes. She has a deck material of teak.

Vervece has a steel hull with a steel superstructure.

Built by Benetti Shipyard in 1964, Vervece charter motoryacht had a full refit at the Palumbo yard in 2013 to convert her into the luxury yacht she is today preserving the original character of a Tug vessel. Vervece offers accommodation for 8 (+2) guests in 4 comfortable suites. Vervece charter motoryacht built from steel, with exceptional seakeeping qualities, she cruises at 10 knots and reaches maximum speeds of 12 knots.

Vervece charter motoryacht is based Gaeta not far from Naples.

Crew of 6 + 1 rotational chef.

Vervece charter motoryacht interior is extremely modern with a beautiful beach house styled interior that is chic and contemporary. White furnishings pair perfectly with ash furniture, white lacquer, solid wood and pops of colour. Able to welcome 8 (+2 ) guests on board, all guest accommodation is spacious and beautifully styled. Full beam double bedded Master Stateroom with Queen Size bed, features a sofa, a dressing table, double wardrobe and ensuite toilet with shower box. The double VIP stateroom with Queen Size bed, ensuite toilet & two separate showers has an anteroom with a little studio, shower box and a sofa with bunk bed (191 cm x 75 cm). The 2 twins are both provided with sofa, dressing table, wardrobe and ensuite toilet with shower each. New aloe mattresses.

This layout makes Vervece the ideal yacht for 2 couples or families, or for smaller charter groups alike.

A large light-filled split main saloon features a formal dining area and luxurious lounge seating, with the modern galley located close nearby. Vervece’s talented chef will create an unforgettable charter menu, customised to every group. Vervece also boasts a refined silver cutlery. A second relaxed lounge space can be found on the upper deck, providing another chic space for guests to retreat to.

Outdoor living is part of the irresistible charm of Vervece with expansive spaces over all her decks, featuring al fresco dining options, lounge seating, sun loungers, bar area and more. Guests will be spoilt for choice when deciding where to spend their day on board.

Benedetto Spinosa, Italian

Benedetto has been working in the yachting industry since 1999, after attending the Nautical School and Military service in the navy. He has an extensive experience on yachts; he started his career as deckhand becoming a Captain later. He also worked as Engineer being employed over the years on pleasure and charter motoryachts such as on Commercial Ferries.

From 2005 to 2012 he worked on M/Y Whynot, M/Y Sexteen and M/Y Marta. From 2013 up to 2017 he was employed on M/Y Blue East as Chief Officer and Relief Captain, taking care of ship handling, bridge management, itineraries planning, coordination of departments, crew training and recruitment.

Benedetto is an experienced charter Captain ready to meet his guests requirements and knowing very well how to make them happy during their charter vacation. He likes to be active during his spare time driving his motorbike and sea fishing.

Italian mother tongue, Benedetto speaks fluent English, basic Spanish & French.

Chef:  ( Ca rla and Vincenzo are the two rotational chefs on Vervece.)

Carla Baiano, Italian

Carla, born in Marano di Napoli and is 64 years old. She has worked on Vervece for the last few seasons and really loves what she does from organization in the galley to the preparation of the dishes. Carla has a happy disposition. Because she follows her heart and does what makes her happy, She has always led a calm life and will continue to do so. She detests excesses and lives by the conventions of polite behavior. She enjoys traveling by sea and cooking, so she just had to take on this job! Carla is resourceful, tenacious, upbeat, peaceful, patient, and tolerant. She puts passion into everything she does, constantly striving to offer her best efforts. She enjoys working with others and is accustomed to do so. Carla speaks Italian, French and also basic English

Vincenzo Di Martino, Italian

Vincenzo, born in Naples and is 65 years old. Better known as Enzo, is a sunny 65 years old man in love with sea like most Neapolitan people. Vincenzo has been employed in the restaurant/hospitality industry for many years now. He found out his passion for Mediterranean food and cooking about 20 years ago and turned his career into being a professional chef. Before joining VERVECE  in 2023 season, he was employed on several restaurants  either as a seasonal chef or as a permanent chef. The choice to work ashore when he was younger was dictated by his family; notwithstanding his passion for the sea, he preferred remaining close to his wife and children. His first employment on a yacht was between 2006 and 2008 when he worked on the private 22 mt MY Sixteen as deckhand and chef. Then in 2017 he performed a season as dedicated chef on another private 28 mt MY named Felicité. Both yachts were based in the Mediterranean. Now after 6 years in restaurants he’s back on a yacht and ready to give his best like he always has done. Vincenzo is Italian mother tongue and speaks basic English.

Giuseppe Napolitano, Italian

Giuseppe is 39 years old and born in Modica, Sicily. He has various years of experience in the nautical industry and has already worked onboard Vervece for the past 3 seasons as a deckhand taking care of different external maintenances of the boat and management of bridges and superstructures. He has been responsible for mooring and disorganization, fire control and safety equipment. The maintenance of the electrical and water installations and also the management of the tender are all things that he is responsible for onboard the yacht. Giuseppe has various hobbies and interests including sailing, Paragliding, free climbing and snowboarding. Giuseppe speaks Italian as his native language and good English.

Piero Nota , Italian

Piero is 26 and born in Grottaferrata in Rome. He has various experiences working onboard yachts, first as Engine cadet then as Engine Officer. His main skills are to take care of specific technical skills and functional working methods related to the construction, maintenance and the efficiency of various means of transport and other related systems he also has the skills of management and maintenance of propulsion and energy production equipment for on board services. Piero speaks Italian as his native language and speaks basic English.

Michelangelo Lubrano, Italian

Michelangelo Lubrano Lavadera has been on board the My Vervece since its launch in 2015, and having participated in the refitting works he knows the boat perfectly. He is a great engineer, but also a great sailor who loves the sea and his profession, which he carries on with passion and professionalism. He speaks Italian and English.

Stewardess:

Isabella Pirodda, Italian

Isabella was Italian born Trinità d’Agultu, North Sardinia. She is 42 and has many years experience on Charter yachts taking care of guests needs and fulfilling the perfect cruising holiday. Now onboard Vervece her aim is to continue providing the best quality and guest care. She is a personable, dependable and bubbly person. Always happy to help and exceed all expectations. Isabella speaks Italian as her native language and speaks good English

Rates and Terms

Vervece Benetti Charter MotorYacht weekly rates: (MYBA, WMT)

High Season: August/July and Events: € 49.000,00; Mid Season: June/September: € 38.000,00; Low Season: Other months: € 30.000,00.

Italian VAT applicable. 22% or 6.6% Italian VAT applicable depending on the cruising area.

Rates include: Fully equipped yacht hire, yacht insurance, crew food and wages, usage of water toys on board, yacht laundry fees.

Rates do not include: guests food and beverages, fuel for the yacht, fuel for the tender and the water toys, dockage fees (if any), communication costs (if any), cruising permit fees (protected areas, National Parks, etc…), personal laundry fees, crew gratuity, VAT where applicable.

Iconic 'little blue boat' that calls Montrose Bay home up for sale after family makes tough decision

For almost 50 years a little blue boat has been moored on the River Derwent in Hobart's northern suburbs by the side of a busy highway.

It is known affectionately by many Tasmanians as "the little blue boat", and has floated alone next to the Brooker Highway at Montrose Bay over the decades.

Sea Breeze, its official name, was built by Robin Attrill in his Montrose backyard in the early 1970s.

His son Colin Attrill said the boat was launched at Macquarie Wharf in 1976.

"It's been on the mooring in Montrose Bay ever since, and that's why it's such an iconic little blue boat," he said.

Tasmanians curious about 'little blue boat'

The boat is an object of fascination for Brooker Highway motorists and foreshore walkers due to it seemingly never moving.

Colin Attrill said it was "absolutely amazing" the number of people who would stop and talk to him about the boat when he was launching the dinghy to go and check on it.

"The number of people that talk to me that are walking past and go 'that boat has been there forever' and 'it was there when I was going to school or every day when I've been driving to work'," he said.

"Some people say they've never seen it move. Well it used to move all the time.

"Of late it's slowed up, we're all busy and dad has slowed up. We lost mum and once that happened it impacted on family activities."

Tough decision to sell

Its owner is now 91 and the boat has not been sailed for about 10 years.

Colin Attrill said the family had recently made the tough decision to try to sell the boat.

"Dad isn't well and he's gotten old, which we all do, and the boat's got old," he said.

"Anyone who knows about a timber boat knows that they need maintenance."

Mr Attrill said the family used to put the boat on the slip at least once a year to clean and antifoul it, and do any repairs.

"But the past few years Dad has been unable to do anything, and the boat unfortunately has just sat on the mooring," he said.

He said the family decided it was time for the boat to have a new owner.

"Nobody is using it, it needs a new owner who will give it the time and get the enjoyment out of it that we had growing up," he said.

"It's a great boat, and there are many years left. Wooden boats just last."

'Next phase' for the boat

The Attrill family is full of passionate sailors and Robin's brother Peter represented Australia in sailing at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952 — Tasmania's fifth Olympian and the first to represent the state in sailing.

When Robin finished building the 25-foot river cruiser, known by the family as The Breeze, it was used for trips away around Hobart.

"We used to have family trips down the channel, down to Cygnet, down to Dover, and all places in between fishing and weekends away," he said.

"We also used to go to events in Hobart like the Hobart Regatta, the Sandy Bay Regatta. We'd be down the river at any chance, or up the river. She made it to New Norfolk a couple of times.

"The boat was all over the place, wherever we could."

Mr Attrill said it would be a sad day when the boat left Montrose Bay after almost 50 years.

"We will see where it goes and where it ends up and what's the next phase for the boat," he said.

Over the years its owner has been keeping a watchful eye on it just a matter of metres away, across the Brooker Highway from his Montrose home of more than 70 years.

"He's always been there. He'd open the blinds in the morning in the kitchen and look out the window and there's the boat," son Colin said.

"It's always been a part of his life."
