Insider Today

The REV Ocean dethroned the 590-foot Azzam , which held the record for largest yacht in the world for six years.

Unlike most superyachts, the REV Ocean wasn't designed only for luxury cruising. It was built to be a research vessel, carrying out scientific expeditions with the mission of safeguarding the world's oceans.

The yacht will, however, be available to charter to help support the cost of its scientific missions, a publicist for the REV Ocean told Business Insider.

The REV Ocean, which is on its way to Norway to be outfitted, is set to be completed in 2020.

Take a look at the record-breaking 600-foot superyacht.

At 600 feet (182.9 meters) long, the REV Ocean is the world's largest superyacht.

It dethroned the 590-foot Azzam, which held the record for more than six years.

After 18 months of construction, the vessel was lowered into the water at the Vard Tulcea shipyard in Romania on August 24.

The REV Ocean was commissioned by the billionaire Norwegian businessman Kjell Inge Rokke .

Rokke is worth an estimated $3.3 billion.

He owns almost 67% of Aker, a publicly traded shipping and offshore drilling conglomerate, according to Forbes .

Rokke also started and funds a nonprofit foundation, also called REV Ocean, that's dedicated to safeguarding and preserving the oceans.

The Norwegian businessman is one of more than 200 wealthy people who have signed the Giving Pledge , promising to give away at least half of their fortune to charity.

The REV Ocean had "an extensive and complicated build period," according to the foundation.

kjell inge rokke yacht

The yacht was designed by Espen Oeino , who has designed some of the world's most famous yachts , including the late Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen's 414-foot Octopus.

The REV Ocean was built to be a scientific vessel in addition to a cruising yacht. REV stands for Research Expedition Vessel.

According to the REV Ocean foundation , scientists can use the superyacht for research into plastic pollution, unsustainable fishing, and the impact of CO2 emissions on the ocean.

"REV Ocean will strive to fill critical knowledge gaps, develop innovative solutions, and bridge science, business and policy sectors to achieve positive change," the foundation said.

The REV Ocean will be able to hold 55 scientists and 35 crew members, the foundation says.

kjell inge rokke yacht

The vessel's onboard equipment will include "scientific trawls, sonar systems, laboratories, auditorium and classrooms, moonpool, AUV and submarine, an ROV with 6000 meters depth capacity, and advanced communication equipment."

The superyacht will also be available to charter to help fund its scientific missions.

kjell inge rokke yacht

Rokke will also use the yacht, but he'll pay to rent it like any other customer, said REV Ocean's communication manager, Lawrence Hislop.

"The primary focus, branding, and emphasis, however, is on science," Hislop told Business Insider.

As a charter vessel, the REV Ocean could carry 28 guests and 54 crew members.

kjell inge rokke yacht

According to its website , the superyacht will be available for "private individuals, companies and institutions seeking to improve their awareness of the ocean."

The price hasn't been finalized, but REV Ocean is negotiating a contract with a yacht-chartering company, Hislop told Business Insider.

Next, the ship will go to Norway to be fully outfitted.

kjell inge rokke yacht

In the coming weeks, the REV Ocean will be towed down the Danube River and into the Black Sea, then pass through the Bosporus Strait in Istanbul, cross the Mediterranean, traverse the Strait of Gibraltar, and travel up to the Vard shipyard in Brattvag, the foundation said.

The journey is expected to take 30 to 35 days.

The vessel is set to be completed sometime in 2020.

During a private tour of the 182.9m / 600ft  expedition yacht REV Ocean , the YachtCharterFleet team got an exclusive insight into an owner’s mission to create a catalyst for change and establish a long-term legacy for the oceans that built him his fortune.

REV Ocean will soon become the world's largest yacht. Eager to get a closer look at the superyacht breaking new ground in design, function and technology, the YachtCharterFleet team headed out to  Norway  for a private tour of REV Ocean last year.

The yacht is still under construction at VARD Shipyard, so we were expecting to come away with nothing more than a rough outline of what the yacht will look like in 2021. But we left the shipyard with something far more valuable.

Through talking to the Project managers and getting some first-hand insight into the yacht's owner, we learned that REV Ocean is a landmark in yachting that's hoping to usher in a new era of superyachts.

She is a catalyst for change that's set to ignite a revolution among superyacht owners; here's how REV Ocean's owner plans to do it.

What is REV Ocean?

rendering of luxury yacht rev ocean

REV Ocean is a state-of-the-art superyacht that will be committed to pioneering oceanographic research.

The yacht will be equipped with specialist scientific equipment never before seen on a superyacht. She will play host to eight cutting-edge research laboratories, a fully-equipped dive centre and a crane attached to a trawl that will enable her to safely catch and release pelagic samples from 3,000 metres below the surface of the sea.

She will also have a range of submersibles, both autonomous and remotely-operated, for extreme underwater exploration. They will be easily to launch to recover via a 7.7 x 5m opening in her hull known as a Moonpool.

Alongside the research space, which equates to roughly 15 tennis courts, she will have all of the amenities that  yacht charter guests would expect on a yacht of this calibre, including three pool areas, well-equipped gym facilities and a spa and wellness zone.

There will be a 36-person auditorium on board, plus 2 helipads, an on-board helicopter and its own hangar.

Who is the Owner of REV Ocean?

rev ocean luxury yacht in construction in norway

Kjell Inge Rokke is the owner of REV Ocean. Rokke grew up close to the VARD facilities in Brattvag where REV Ocean is being built. He learned to fish in the waters of the region and he began his career as a deckhand on board a local fishing trawler.

He went on to operate a fleet of fishing vessels and fisheries, and he has been a major stakeholder in several shipyards that specialize in fishing vessel ever since. He then moved into offshore drilling, and now owns an oil and gas company. In 2018, he was considered the richest man in Norway.

During our shipyard tour, we're told that Rokke's family has lived for many years in Molde, a small town just across the water from Brattvag. He is a well-known member of the local community.

Juuni Vatne, Marketing Coordinator at VARD, comments;  “I think it’s a lot of pride to be here, back home, to build this vessel.”

What's the vision behind REV Ocean?

Building REV Ocean is philanthropy in its finest form- if the yacht encourages other owners go down a similar route, then Rokke’s legacy will live on for decades to come.

Kjell Inge Rokke superyacht rev ocean in brattvag at vard shipyard

Rokke’s mission is simple; save the seas.

His motivation to build REV Ocean comes from a lifelong reliance on the ocean.

Fishing is how he initially made his fortune; and now it’s time to give back. Building REV Ocean is philanthropy in its finest form- if REV Ocean encourages other yacht owners go down a similar route, then Rokke’s legacy will live on for decades to come.

Fishing is also vital to Norway’s economy as a whole, with fish making up one of the country’s largest exports. Norway is also leading the way in the fight against climate change, with the country listed among the greenest on the planet and the second-most eco-friendly country in the world.

Mr Rokke has hired an impressive team to helm the REV Ocean research team. Nina Jensen, the former head of the World Wide Fund for Nature in Norway, has been appointed the Chief Executive of REV Ocean. Oxford University's leading marine conservation scientist Alex Rogers has joined the team as Science Director.

Sparking a revolution among yacht Owners

yacht model of luxury yacht rev ocean with helipad

This yacht is not intended to be a one-off project; instead, it’s hoped she will pave the way for a new era of superyacht.

During our shipyard tour we had the chance to get some valuable insight from Lawrence Hislop, Marketing Director of REV Ocean.

“What we are hoping is that [REV Ocean] can provide inspiration for other wealthy people to reconsider how they're spending their money to some extent.” He explains. “We’d like other owners to go down this route.”

By redefining how superyachts are put to use and setting out to take serious action to save our seas, the owner of REV Ocean is putting a plan into motion.

This yacht is not intended to be a one-off project; instead, it’s hoped she will pave the way for a new era of superyacht.

“If we do a good job and we start to save the oceans and allow wealthy people to come on board to see what it is that we are doing, we really hope that other owners will be inspired by that and want to do the same.” States Hislop.

Why build the world's largest yacht?

rev ocean yacht under construction in norway

By building the world’s largest yacht, Rokke and the REV Ocean team will create maximum exposure for their cause. The world’s largest yacht will generate a media frenzy far beyond the realms of the superyacht industry and this will create a vast platform for the REV Ocean team to share their message and elevate their mission.

An opportunity for you to give back

luxury yacht rev ocean sundeck with great views over norwegian countryside

REV Ocean's primary function is oceanographic research and analysis.

However, she will also be available to charter to individuals looking for an exploration vacation. These independent charters will fund the research missions, allowing scientists to undertake pioneering research free of charge.

For many research teams and scientists, the cost of hiring research vessels with this calibre of facilities is prohibitive.

“The idea is to get developing countries interested in the research work as well, [giving] opportunities to scientists in Africa, Asia, Latin America, who normally wouldn’t be able to [conduct research] on a yacht like this.” States Lawrence Hislop.

Charterers will be able to directly impact positive change through chartering REV Ocean.

kjell inge rokke yacht

This unique funding model means that charterers can directly impact positive change. By chartering REV Ocean, they'll be making these research missions possible.

Charterers can accompany the research teams, participating in research and observing the work being carried out in front of them. They can also charter the yacht privately.

“The main point of having this vessel is to go out and do scientific research work. And the business model is to get people to [charter REV Ocean] and follow the research work and going to beautiful parts of the world." Explains Hislop.

Rokke plans to invite up to 400 marine scientists per year to spend three or four weeks each on board studying how to protect the ocean from climate change, overfishing and plastic waste.

For the REV Ocean team, ‘Healing the ocean with data’ is a core part of their ethos. By allowing the most advanced oceanographic study tools to be accessed by research teams across the globe, the initiative hopes to create a global ocean data platform for the common good.

What's the next stage of construction?

model of superyacht rev ocean with helipad and pools

REV Ocean is currently in the final stages of construction in Norway. The VARD shipyard is best known for commercial shipbuilding, so the facilities here are the premium choice for technical work and engineering.

Once this stage of the build is completed, she will make her way to the specialist facilities of Lloyd Werft in Germany. It's here that she will be given the polished finish of a true superyacht, with exterior design from the multi-award-winning yacht designer Espen Oeino.

At Lloyd Werft, she will have her interiors installed, her teak decks will be laid and all of her jacuzzis and swimming pools will be finished to the highest standards The specialist job of smoothing her hull, known as fairing, will be carried out by an army of highly-trained craftsmen, and she will then be painted. Her size means she will need an extra-large shed for this work to take place.

The interiors meanwhile, come courtesy of H2 Yacht Design. Renderings are not yet available to the public, but YachtCharterFleet has previously spoken to founder Jonny Horsfield to get some insight into the interiors of REV Ocean .

Where will her first expeditions be taking place?

polar bear on the arctic ice in svalbad norway, first mission destination of superyacht rev ocean

Following completion at Lloyd Werft, REV Ocean will set off on her maiden voyage to Svalbard for her first scientific mission in 2021.

She will then be setting course for New York in the autumn, in a journey that will coincide with the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. It is thought she may be positioned outside the United Nations Headquarters on the East River throughout the course of the event.

Following which, she will be heading further south towards the clear oceans of the Caribbean . Early outlines of her itinerary suggest she will be chartering in central America and Panama.

She will then be heading towards the Galapagos, where opportunities for exploring and studying marine life will be ample. This island chain is home to hundreds of fish species, and REV Ocean will be able to put her eco-harvesting system for live catch and release of biomass and pelagic samples to good use.

She is also expected to head to the Indian Ocean, cruising around the islands of the Seychelles and the Maldives . Part of her hydrographic analysis in this region will be centered around hydrothermal vents, which are clustered around the Central Indian Ridge between the two archipelagos.

This Billionaire Wants To Clean Up The Oceans With A Massive Yacht | Forbes

hqdefault

Off the coast of Brattvaag, Norway, just a few hundred miles below the Arctic Circle, the 600-foot Rev looms in the North Atlantic. It is the shell of a ship: forged but not yet outfitted, with a tan-and-black hull that makes it look like a dredged-up wreck. “I see myself spending two months of the year on the boat,” says its owner, the Norwegian billionaire Kjell Inge Rokke. Each detail of the vessel requires his sign-off: the submarine, the helipads, the three pools and hot tubs. But this is not your typical billionaire plaything. Also onboard are eight laboratories and a remote operating vehicle that can descend to a depth of 19,000 feet.

Rev is a floating contradiction. On one hand, it is the largest superyacht in the world—the apex of self-indulgence—at a cost of about $350 million. Yet Rokke prefers a different framing. Rev, he insists, is a research vessel. The plan is simple. Rokke, 61, will let scientists use the yacht for free to plot oceanic garbage patches, assess fish stocks and test water acidity levels. When they aren’t onboard, he’ll use it himself for pleasure, or rent it to the world’s glitterati and donate the proceeds to conservation projects.

Rokke, like the yacht, is a contradiction. He amassed his $1.7 billion fortune by extracting from the seas, from trawling to offshore drilling to commercial shipping. “I’m part of the problem,” he admits. Now, he says, he wants to clean things up. But not enough to divest himself from his portfolio of polluting companies.

Billionaire Kjell Inge Røkke pledges $500M to build new hi-tech ship to tackle ocean sustainability

  • Stef Bottinelli

It was announced at the Our Ocean Conference in Bali that the Research Expedition Vessel (REV) will be used for education, capacity building, ocean literacy and policy-making programs

The CEO of REV Ocean, Nina Jensen, announced at the Our Ocean Conference in Bali that REV Ocean and owner Kjell Inge Røkke have pledged 500 million USD to save the ocean. The money will go towards the construction costs of the world’s largest research and expedition vessel and the first three years of operating costs.

With financing from its owner, Kjell Inge Røkke, REV Ocean is currently building the research and expedition vessel which is scheduled to be completed in 2021.

The craft will be available to world leading scientists through independent calls for proposals reaching out to the global marine science community. At the conference REV Ocean announced that the vessel will also be used for ‘education, capacity building, ocean literacy and policy-making programs both through the science program and selected expeditions and symposiums organised on the boat’. REV Ocean’s aim is ‘that the vessel will be an important contribution to the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.’

Kjell Inge Røkke is a Norwegian businessman and philanthropist and one of the richest people in his country.  He has pledged to donate a large portion of his own wealth to the improvement of ocean health. As the major shareholder of the offshore fishing, construction and engineering company Aker ASA, Røkke has made much of his fortune from the ocean and is devoted to help tackle the issues the seas face today.

REV Ocean has forged many partnership with other organisations and currently works with UNESCO/IOC, UN Environment, the WEF Friends of Ocean Action, WWF and others in developing the vessel’s scientific program and activities. They are also in close dialogue with the High-level Panel for a Sustainable Ocean Economy, as well as the various Norwegian scientific institutions and organisations involved with the ocean.

Nina Jensen said at the conference: “Our hope is that REV Ocean, through our partners and the people on board will make a big difference in the effort to find more sustainable solutions for life in the ocean. We welcome interested parties to reach out to us with good ideas, partnership suggestions and for sharing scientific ocean data and related opportunities. Together we will make sure that the ocean continues to thrive and can provide oxygen, food and jobs for mankind for generations to come – there is no alternative”.

Contract signed to build REV Ocean

The contact has been signed to build REV – one of the largest Research Expedition Vessel’s ever built.

Global designers and shipbuilders, Vard Holdings Limited, secured the deal with Rosellinis Four-10, which is wholly-owned by the Norwegian industrialist Kjell Inge Røkke and his family.

At 182-metre long, REV will be bigger than Andrey Melnichenko’s Sailing Yacht A, although a great deal shorter than the world’s biggest ship, Pioneering Spirit, which is 382-metres long.

Although it will be used by Kjell Inge Røkke’s family for private cruises, REV will be tailor-made for worldwide research and expedition activities, and WWF Norway has already been invited to make use of the vessel.

Renders of REV - Research Exploration vessel

REV will be used for private charters and research expeditions

Developed by Vard Design in collaboration with Kjell Inge Røkke and the designer, Espen Øino, REV is expected to enter service in 2020.

The hull will be built at Vard Tulcea in Romania, and towed to Vard Brattvaag in Norway for outfitting.

After delivery in Norway, the vessel will return to Romania for fairing, deck laying and finalisation of the accommodation area.

Equipped with the latest technology on board, the vessel will be one of the most advanced research expedition vessels in the world.

It will be used for monitoring and surveying marine areas, currents, the seabed, fish, animals and plant life in all of the world’s oceans.

It is no surprise then that the ship’s environmental performance is crucial.

Vard Holding Ltd said that in order to secure the most cost efficient, silent, comfortable and environmentally friendly expeditions in all weather conditions, REV has been designed with slim hull lines in combination with wave-cutting bulb, slender foreship, large propellers and two pairs of stabilisation fins.

Other key features are the energy recovery rudder system, medium speed engines, a direct drive diesel-electric propulsion system with battery package, and an exhaust cleaning system.

The vessel will also employ Vard’s SeaQ Green Pilot, a data driven maritime energy management and operational performance system.

By using real-time measurements, mathematical models and analysis of the REV’s performance, an expert system will give the operator advice on the ship’s performance and fuel consumption.

The research and expedition area features modern laboratories, an auditorium, a hangar for a Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) and an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) with direct access to the vessel’s moonpool, and a multifunctional cargo deck.

A picture of a research vessel on the sea

Vard’s subsidary Seaonics has developed a large high-end scientific winch package for handling through the ship’s moonpool and over the side.

A 20 tonne fibre rope crane will be able to reach depths of 6,000 metres, while a pelagic trawl setup with catch selection can be used for operations down to a depth of 3,000 metres.

All operations including trawling will be inside operations either from the hangar amidships or from a horizontal built in A-frame construction at the stern.

In total, REV will have accommodation space for 90 people, although it will only take a maximum of 36 guests on board.

Commenting on the project, Kjell Inge Røkke, said: “My very first large factory trawler was built by Vard 30 years ago, and I have enjoyed a great relationship with the team at Vard since then.”

“I know what Vard stands for, and it is a pleasure to come back and build this Research Expedition Vessel together with them,” continued the Norwegian businessman.

“The REV will be a platform for gathering knowledge. I would like to welcome researchers, environmental groups, and other institutions on board, to acquire new skills to evolve innovative solutions to address challenges and opportunities connected to the seas,” added Røkke.

kjell inge rokke yacht

kjell inge rokke yacht

kjell inge rokke yacht

kjell inge rokke yacht

kjell inge rokke yacht

kjell inge rokke yacht

kjell inge rokke yacht

kjell inge rokke yacht

kjell inge rokke yacht

Norwegian industry builder Kjell Inge Røkke takes on a high-level role to support the UN Decade of Ocean Science and unlock industrial ocean data

  • June 23, 2022

kjell inge rokke yacht

Oslo and Paris – Building on his ongoing investment and engagement in REV Ocean and HUB Ocean, the Norwegian industrial leader and main owner of Aker, Kjell Inge Røkke, has accepted to become a Patron of the Ocean Decade Alliance and the UN Ocean Decade Special Emissary for Industrial Ocean Data.

The vision of the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) is “the science we need for the ocean we want”. It envisages nothing less than a revolution in ocean science that will trigger a steep change in humanity´s relationship with the ocean.

“This invitation is a recognition of the strong commitments that Kjell Inge Røkke is making to the Ocean Decade. His support both in terms of in-kind and financial support to the Decade, and the implementation of Decade Actions, as well as his strong personal commitment to working with the Ocean Decade team and its Corporate Data Group to unlock priority industrial datasets will be crucial to the success of the Decade on several fronts,” said Vladimir Ryabinin, Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO), the agency leading the implementation of the Ocean Decade.

Comprising a distinguished network of global leaders and institutions, the Ocean Decade Alliance catalyzes support for the Ocean Decade through targeted resource mobilization, networking and influence.

“I am proud and honored to become a part of the Alliance, and I am eager to start contributing as a Special Emissary. I have lived on and off the ocean most of my adult life, and I am truly passionate about improving ocean health. I can ensure that I will do my utmost to deliver on the trust I have been given throu gh this invitation. I look forward to working with the other honorable members of the Alliance so we can contribute to getting the science we need for the ocean we want,” said Kjell Inge Røkke, the industrial builder and main owner of Aker.

Contribution in three main areas

As a member of the Alliance, Røkke will collaborate and coordinate with other Alliance members and the Decade Coordination Unit, hosted by the IOC-UNESCO Secretariat, in leveraging existing commitments to directly contribute to the awareness of Ocean Decade objectives and activities worldwide.

As a Patron and Special Emissary, Røkke’s commitment will be based on three main pillars:

  • To unlock priority industrial ocean data from industry sources so that it is accessible for science, decision making, policy and management
  • To develop a system to offer free research vessel time for early career researchers around the world
  • To support the co-design and implementation of Decade Actions related to plastics and the mesopelagic ecosystem

The importance of unlocking ocean data

We estimate that only about one-fourth of the global, open and public ocean data is currently shared, even though there has been an exponential increase in the number and variety of ocean observing systems such as research vessels, buoys, satellites and sensors gather important data. Industries are sitting on enormous amounts of data too This is insufficient to drive extensive research and inform sustainable ocean governance and policies.

Therefore, the non-profit tech foundation and partner of IOC, HUB Ocean, invests considerable resources into unlocking ocean data. Cooperating with NOAA  (the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), HUB Ocean has made the 22 000 datasets of the World Ocean Database, the ABC for Ocean Scientists, accessible in a few clicks. Several other main ocean databases with information on ocean bathymetry, biodiversity, underwater infrastructure and marine legislations are also available when world-leading ocean data scientists this month will start testing the platform.  All open datasets will be available according to the FAIR principles for data sharing .

This is just the start. The platform will also allow privately owned industrial ocean data, never shared openly before, to add value to the open datasets.

In addition to contributing through his work in these areas, Kjell Inge Røkke commits to support the IOC-UNESCO directly through the REV Ocean agreement with a significant new financial contribution.

Mr. Røkke was officially welcomed in his new role at the UN Ocean Conference in Lisbon on June 27 th , 2022.

About the Ocean Decade:

Proclaimed in 2017 by the United Nations General Assembly, the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) (‘ the Ocean Decade ’) seeks to stimulate ocean science and knowledge generation to reverse the decline of the state of the ocean system and catalyse new opportunities for sustainable development of this massive marine ecosystem. The vision of the Ocean Decade is ‘the science we need for the ocean we want’. The Ocean Decade provides a convening framework for scientists and stakeholders from diverse sectors to develop the scientific knowledge and the partnerships needed to accelerate and harness advances in ocean science to achieve a better understanding of the ocean system, and deliver science-based solutions to achieve the 2030 Agenda. The UN General Assembly mandated UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC-UNESCO) to coordinate the preparations and implementation of the Decade.

About the Ocean Decade Alliance:

The Ocean Decade Alliance is a network of eminent partners of the UN Ocean Decade that can lead by example to catalyze support for the Decade through targeted resource mobilization, networking, and influence.

About Kjell Inge Røkke:

Kjell Inge Røkke launched his business career with the purchase of a fishing vessel in the United States in 1982, and gradually built a leading worldwide fisheries business. His success in this arena enabled him to invest in other businesses, mainly in the United States and Norway. In 1996, he became the main owner in Aker. Since 1841, Aker has been a front-runner in developing knowledge-based industry.

Mr. Røkke has been the driving force developing the Aker Group into one of Norway’s largest private employers. Its main activities are within the oil and gas, renewable and green technologies, fishery and marine biotechnology sectors and asset management. Aker is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange and is owned 68.2% by Mr. Røkke and his family

About REV Ocean :

REV Ocean is a not-for-profit company created with one overarching purpose and ambition: To make the ocean healthy again. To do that, REV Ocean works to improve our understanding of the ocean and to get key stakeholders – decision-makers, researchers, business and civil society – aligned with that understanding and turn that knowledge into concrete solutions. Any profit generated from its projects will be reinvested into its work for a healthier ocean. The company was established in 2017 and is funded by Norwegian businessman Kjell Inge Røkke.

About HUB Ocean :

HUB Ocean is a non-profit, technological foundation dedicated to unlocking and sharing ocean data. HUB Ocean was founded by the World Economic Foundation and Aker.

Through its core product, the Ocean Data Platform, you can aggregate unprecedented volumes of diverse ocean data sets. The Ocean Data Platform itself is a global, open-source and integrated digital data ecosystem providing new and faster insight for the ocean we need and want.  But connecting the technological dots is not enough, unless you connect people too; the scientists, the ocean managers and the industry leaders.  HUB Ocean bridges the divide by catalyzing innovation through combined data across all sectors. So, there you have it; HUB Ocean unleashes the power of data, technology, and people to change the fate of the ocean.

Beautiful boat

Very impressed with the quality of this boat. The spec is top of the line and we'll maintained. The toilets are fresh & clean. The route on the river through Moscow takes in many of the iconic sites of Moscow and is a great introduction. The food was nice. Wide selection. Service was pleasant. Get the iPod with audio for some interesting commentary. I recommend the 2 1/2 hour trip.

Dear GrantHay, thank you for the feedback about your cruise on the yacht "Radisson Royal". Flotilla “Radisson Royal” has 10 perfectly equipped yachts designed for year-round entertaining excursion cruises on the Moscow River with restaurant service aboard. Our company organizes cruises 365 days a year. On our 2,5-3 hours cruise passengers will enjoy the most remarkable sights of Moscow: Kremlin, Novodevichy Convent, monument to Peter I, St. Basil's Cathedral, University and other symbolic monuments. We will be glad to see you again on Board our yachts! Best regards, Olga Tkacheva, brand-Manager.

We had it today. Nice views and a fun way to see the city. We also had some pasta and drinks, which were ok. Service was very nice. Shame we didn't know that the tour from Gorky Park is just half way - lasts about 1.5 hour. If we knew we would start at Ukraina hotel.

Dear Paweł S, thank you for the feedback about your cruise on the yacht "Radisson Royal". Flotilla “Radisson Royal” has 10 perfectly equipped yachts designed for year-round entertaining excursion cruises on the Moscow River with restaurant service aboard. Our company organizes cruises 365 days a year. The standard return route from Gorky Park Pier to Hotel Ukraina Pier lasts two and a half hours with the pivot closer to the business center "Moscow-city" to the Kotelnicheskaya embankment without any stops. On weekends the departure time is at four p.m. and eight p.m. The boarding starts thirty minutes before the departure.

When I got on Radisson's cruise boats, I thought that it's a normal, boring river cruise, but 10 minutes later I found out I was totally wrong. What a beautiful view of the historical buildings of Moscow!!!! The statue that hung in the middle of Moskva River is amasing. Service is acceptable and waiters/waitresses are freindly and the food is in good quality.

Best regards, Olga Tkacheva, brand-Manager.

Went with business group on dinner cruise, with guide. Really enjoyed the views after dark - seeing Red Square/The Kremlin from this vantage was great. And being on the top deck to view with no obstructions was worth the cold wind ! Kind of hard to eat and see the views at the same time, but the food was nothing special so we focused on the views. Service fine but not notable. Guide might as well have been a pre-recorded piece as there was no attempt to engage us - and it was hard to tell what building or view she was referring to as she just sort of looked in the direction of the item and spoke with monotone voice. Go for the views, not the food or service.

Hello, dear lbes! Thank you for the feedback about your cruise on the yacht "Radisson Royal". Unfortunately, due to the nature of the rolling stock, the menu is presented on the yacht, may not be as diverse and exquisite in the filing, copyright in stationary restaurants. Great boat ride - see all the sights. The food is way better than you expect on a riverboat. This is a great 3 hour ride through Moscow with too many sights and views to name individually - take your camera!

Hello, dear TimT1947! Thank you for your feedback about Flotilla Radisson Royal. It’s very important for us to know the opinion of each guest. Our company organizes cruises 365 days a year. Ice class of yachts allows not stop navigation in winter: they move on the ice so smoothly and quietly that only the changing landscapes of Moscow historical centre can remind you that you are in the cruise. We will be glad to see you again on Board our yachts! Best regards, Olga Tkacheva, brand-Manager.

It would be great to arrive before departure time inorder to enjoy your dinner. And spend the rest of the trip enjoying the scenic views. Our waiter was a gentleman. He spoke broken English. But he made great effort to explain some of the important buildings as we passed by. He made sure that our little girl was treated like a princess. If we travel back to Moscow we will have a day trip and an evening trip. We selected the Royal class.

Hello, Ameena S! Thank you for your feedback about your cruise on the yacht "Radisson Royal" .
