1 Optional Pickup

If you opt for transfer, your driver will pick you up in a private (non-shared) vehicle at your accommodation anywhere in Mauritius. Note that this entails an additional small fee. For self-drive (i.e if you are going by your own means, we will share the meeting location with you.

2 Embark the Catamaran and set sail to Gabriel Island

You will be invited to embark our catamaran departing at Grand Baie. Our team will brief you a security briefing and at 09:00 we'll set sail to Gabriel Island. The navigation time is roughly 1.5 hours.

3 Enjoy the scenic view of the ocean and coast line

As we navigate to the island of Gabriel, you'll be blessed with the scenic ocean and cost line view. There are several outlying islands like the Coin de Mire. If you're lucky enough, you'll be able to catch glimpse of whales or even dolphins.

4 Arrive at Gabriel Island

You will then arrive at Gabriel island. This little island a protected natural reserve that has kilometers of beaches protected from mass tourists. You'll be at your own leisure and can use this time to just sit back and relax or get into the warm crystal clear water.

5 Savor a BBQ lunch with unlimited drinks

You will be then invited to join the catamaran again where a delicious BBQ lunch (fish, chicken, sausages) with green salads will be served. Complimentary and unlimited drinks (inlcuding both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be served.

6 Set sail back to Grand Bay

We will then set sail back to Grand Baie. The boat will make several stops so that you can snorkel. Once again, you'll get the enjoy the seascape including several outlying islands in the North of Mauritius.

7 Arrive at Grand Bay with your driver waiting

Your arrival at Grand Baie is expected at around 16:00 - 16:30. If you opted for the transfer option, your driver will be right at the deembarkation point ready to pick you up and drive you back to your accommodation.

The cruise itself was more than we expected - I like how friendly and decent the boat crew was. What should I bring? Sunscreen and other sun protection, a swimsuit, and spare clothes are highly recommended. Snorkeling gear and swim jackets are provided free of charge, but a wetsuit is also optional and recommended.

Is this cruise safe for children and babies? This cruise is absolutely safe for all ages. Most of the trip occurs in a lagoon known for its lack of high winds and swells. We regularly host clients as young as 6 months, and we take your security seriously--our catamarans meet all security standards, including free lifejackets.

Ile aux Cerfs is a place that you will remember forever. The view is breathtaking and the sense of scale is vast. It’s a private island, so much of it is untouched and truly pristine. Views of Mauritius across the lagoon that you will not see anywhere else.

We stayed in Flic en Flac and so really appreciate the rate for chauffeur service. A local taxi would charge quite a lot more. Plus the car was neat and well-maintained, safe and the driver acted as a guide to make the trip lots of fun.

The whole day was magic from start to finish. The waterfall was so peaceful, the speedboat was fun, the catamaran and snorkeling divine, the island a cut above. It’s off the beaten track and you will definitely feel it. Great sights throughout the trip.

Do something a little different during your trip to Grand Baie with this Catamaran cruise during which you will discover one of the least populated islands in northern Mauritius - Gabriel Island. Its sandy beaches and turquoise coloured waters make it a true natural paradise.

Gabriel Island Catamaran Trip

We will meet at 8:45 am on Sunset Boulevard, where we climb aboard the catamaran that will take us to the northern islands.

The cruise sails through the beautiful coral reef which surrounds the island. The journey will take us past will the Coin de Mire nature reserve, a natural triangular shaped island which resembles the sail of a boat. Here you will feel as though you are in paradise!

When we finally arrive at the gorgeous Gabriel Island, you will have time to stroll around its sandy beaches or simply relax and gaze in awe at the emerald ocean waters. If you also want to explore marine life in more detail, you have the opportunity of diving into the crystal waters to do some snorkelling if you bring your own snorkelling equipment.

After exploring Gabriel Island, we head back to Grand Baie on the catamaran. During the return trip, we will enjoy a barbeque with unlimited drinks .

The trip will finish around 4 pm at Grand Baie.

The menu on board the catamaran includes barbeque, chicken, fish, an assorted salad, bread, and a dessert of fresh fruit. You will also enjoy unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Gabriel Island, also known as Îlot Gabriel, is a small island located near the Round Island and the Flat island, at the extreme north of Mauritius, about 10 kilometers north of Cap Malheureux. The size of Gabriel island is smaller than Flat Island and its highest point is of 28 meters.

Gabriel Island

Known also as Îlot Gabriel, located near Round Island and the Flat island, at the extreme north of Mauritius, about 10 kilometers north of Cap Malheureux. The distance between Gabriel Island and Flat island is only 750 meters. The size of the island is only 42 hectares, making it much smaller than Flat island, and the highest point is 28 meters.

Gabriel island is a protected natural reserve. In comparison to Flat Island, Gabriel Island has less Flora and vegetation. The island is most famous for its beautiful unspoiled beaches, with crystal clear water surrounding the entire island. It is a very popular site for snorkelers, and also offers great dive sites.

The distance between Gabriel Island and Flat island is only 750 meters. The size of the island is 42 hectares, making it much smaller than Flat island, and the highest point is 28 meters. Gabriel Island is a protected natural reserve. In comparison to Flat Island, Gabriel Island has less flora and fauna. The island is a very popular site for snorkelers and divers.

About Ile aux Bénitiers: L'Ile Aux Bénitiers is a rather long island which has a coconut tree plantation and has become one of the island preferred picnic spot for locals and tourists. The island's closest neighboring village is La Gaulette. On the north of the island live small colonies of migratory birds. This island is located in the lagoon of the west coast and is sheltered from swells and totally protected from waves and currents.

• 11:00 am - Anchoring the Royal Cruise in the Gabriel Island lagoon. Presentation of the place followed by transfer of passengers from the catamaran to the beach of ilot Gabriel. Bathing, sunbathing and snorkeling for guests. Crew member will set up lunch. 12:30 - Lunch on the island. On the menu, chicken and grilled fish. Various raw and cooked vegetable salad. • 14h30 - Royal Cruise leaves mooring to return to Grand Bay.
