PENINSULAR PARADISE

Looking forward to the sea, the bow lounge is divided in double, yet complete in communication. Aft, a sofa looks across the folding coffee table to a counter-facing row of seating and beyond. The fore part features sensuous waterfront sunbeds for three.

SCULPTURAL EXTERIOR DESIGN

The exteriors of the Azimut 78 appear to be sculptured out of pure movement. Advanced production techniques enabled Alberto Mancini to experiment with hullside shapes, throwing light and shade dynamically. The sleek curves of the handrails grow organically out of the composite body, fleshing out the new design language.

REFINEMENT REFOUNDED

The total interior project was designed by Architect Achille Salvagni. Every element, from the overarching structure down to the most minute detail, follows the flow. The work is recognized by soft and smooth shapes, furniture that seems suspended and characterful color accents.

ASCENDANT ACCOMMODATIONS

The choice of Triple Pod Propulsion lends more space to the accomodations below deck. The master enjoys an ensuite dressing room and extends the comfort of VIP to two of the guest cabins, with full-height walking room, all around the queen-sized beds. A fourth twin bed cabin raises the overnight occupancy to eight.

PERFECT PRIVACY

The crew quarters beneath the bow offer an unprecedented opportunity. Just up the stairs, the wheelhouse and galley sit forward on the main deck to define a neat service area, separated from the main saloon by a sliding door. The side door grants direct access to the outside for crew, leaving the guest areas to enjoy uninterrupted and complete privacy.

Our advanced toolkit

Carbon tech_0003_Fly-78

Azimut’s pioneering use of carbon fiber lamination goes beyond pure performance. The Carbon Tech Generation offers expanded volumes onboard, while maintaining excellent dynamic stability and perfect handling. Preserving the yacht’s low center of gravity, the carbon fiber was focused on the upper parts of the yacht, lightening the laminated components by up to 30% and reducing the natural roll momentum up to 15%.

carene-infografiche_RGB

Triple POD propulsion combined with carbon fiber

The adoption of triple Pod propulsion, combined with the optimization of the water lines and the extensive use of carbon fiber, reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 20 to 30%* in the main speed range.

*compared to vessels of the same weight and size with a traditional hard-chine hull and shaft line propulsion.

Azimut_TF_Active-trim-control

Automated interceptors optimize the trim at every speed to maintain ideal hydrodynamics for performance and efficiency, at the same time negating any lateral imbalance due to sidewinds or weight distribution. With the pilot’s peace of mind assured, the driving experience is simpler and more enjoyable.

Azimut_TF_Advanced-Joystick-Controls

The Joystick acts as an analog for the yacht, offering intuitive, one-handed control in every situation. When the yacht is stopped, moving the Joystick forward or back, side to side, and twisting clockwise or counter-clockwise activates the engines to mimic that motion. It’s the easiest way to pull off precise maneuvers. When Joystick Driving is activated, the autopilot is immediately engaged. For easy course correction, the driver may briefly twist the Joystick for 1 degree in that direction or twist and hold for 10 degrees. The Autopilot keeps a forward course after the Joystick is released.

Azimut_TF_Garmin-Control-and-Monitoring-System

The custom-installed Garmin electronics have been integrated to control and monitor every onboard system: from engines and alarms, to bilge and water discharge pumps, tank levels and engine room ventilation, right through to the sound system and the air conditioning units. The system can be accessed onboard from both the interior and exterior helm stations and, with the mobile app, remotely from a tablet or smartphone.

Azimut_TF_Air-treatment

Aircare Energy Saving completely refreshes the onboard atmosphere every two hours with filtered outside air, especially appreciated below deck. The decentralized system uses a dual-flow heat exchanger, so it can optimize both the temperature and the humidity of the incoming fresh air in each zone without increasing the parallel HVAC’s energy consumption. Meanwhile, the triple multilayered filter eliminates 98% of fine particles that pollute the air, such as pollen, dust mites, spores and even some bacteria.

Azimut_TF_High technical standard declaration

This yacht’s design and engineering meet the highest standards for production recreational vessels. Azimut Yachts issues a declaration of the premium materials, advanced technology and rigorous testing procedures.

Settantotto 78

Settantotto 78

A new dimension of beauty

The 25 metre Settantotto is a grand exhibit, crafted with the utmost attention to detail; a concept of beauty that is both modern and classic, essential but not minimal…timeless. She has a fluid form without distinct edges, conveying a natural sense of balance. The design choices by Christian Grande - who worked closely with the Shipbuilding Research Centre- are not excessive, forced or aggressive. Yet this model exhibits the power that you can expect from any flagship. Her smooth and muscular forms are equipped to take on the sea in any condition: the perfect hull, a tall and splaying bow, and a pronounced gunwale.

Cranchi Settantotto - Side view

Also, the expressive combination of colours used for the structure and superstructure, the latter being visibly lighter, has enhanced the yacht’s sleek and sinuous forms and  the feeling of sheer amazement when you discover the spacious environments and generous volumes dedicated to the internal areas , filled with natural light, as can be seen from the symmetrical subtractions in the hull, on the main and lower decks.

Cranchi Settantotto - Side view

Let yourself be inspired by the personalized colour combinations designed for Cranchi Settantotto and discover how authentic luxury is nothing more than the most immediate expression of your desires.

Cranchi Settantotto 78 ft Panama Supremo - side view

As a form of attention to the owners, Cranchi Yachts asked Christian Grande, an internationally renowned designer and art director of the Settantotto, to create the colour palettes that could best enhance the stylistic choices of the yacht. Thus were born three sets of proposals, declined in eleven versions, all fascinating and with absolute elegance but capable of expressing different moods. Each owner will be able to find the combination most in tune with his tastes or start from these suggestions to imagine his ideal palette. The version with Panama Supremo-coloured hull and gloss black T-Top  is shown in these photos.

Freedom without boundaries

The main deck and fly comprise large open spaces with dedicated areas for socialising and relaxing, from bow to stern. There is also an adjoining beach platform which can be accessed safely and easily. The beach deck includes a lift which can be raised, lowered or moved forward. The deck can also be transformed into an immense terrace overlooking the sea, thanks to the extra surface area provided by the teak clad garage. The garage storage compartment comprises a large space for tender and a jet ski which can be separated from the area closest to the beach used for the chaise longues.

Cranchi Settantotto - Flybridge

Abundant space, elegance and functionality are also features of the square deck where the kitchen, living room and relaxation area are distributed optimally. There is also an extra bathroom on the main deck, an unusual component for a yacht of this size.

Cranchi Settantotto - Salon

The decor presented on this page is one of the five interior design proposals conceived for the Settantotto by Christian Grande, in collaboration with the  Cranchi Research and Development Department. Inspired by the city of Venice, this decor stands out for its surprising accents: orange leather and lacquers, warm-toned marbles, mirrored glass with amber reflections and a lively contrast between glossy and matte surfaces.

Discover the other moods proposed for the Settantotto, they can be the ideal starting point for all your personalization requests.

Settantotto Firenze Decor

Discover the details and images of the new decor created by Christian Grande to make the Cranchi Yachts flagship even more unique.

Siracusa Decor

Light glossy lacquer with black edges, oak floors combined with the light oak of the vertical surfaces, bright marbles and dove gray fabrics.

Roma Decor

The elegant fabrics used for the vertical surfaces recall the tones of the Italian lands while the striped marbles give an unmistakable classic touch to the rooms.

Milano Decor

A contemporary and harmonious decor characterised by the burnished metals in which aluminum and steel with nickel effect shine with style.

Your new comfort zone

The layout below deck comprises four en-suite cabins: three large doubles and one twin bed. All the beds are positioned lengthways along the bow-stern axis to guarantee maximum comfort while you rest. The rooms are furnished in a refined and elegant style. The full beam owner’s cabin is located at the heart of the yacht with a walk in wardrobe, small study or ‘beauty corner’, making it feel like a luxury suite. Sophisticated elegance and maximum comfort are distinguishing features of the bow VIP cabin. The cabin used mainly for storing equipment is also comfortable, equipped with twin beds and a separate bathroom and shower. The seaman’s cabin, which can be accessed separately with respect to other areas of the yacht, is also used as a laundry room and includes a washing machine and tumble dryer. This room is located between the engine room and the owner’s cabin to ensure maximum acoustic comfort in the sleeping quarters thanks to the high quality sound insulating bulkheads.

Cranchi Settantotto - Master cabin

In perfect harmony with the choices of art direction, the Settantotto is furnished with elements of the Flexform collections, an historic and dynamic Made in Italy furniture brand.

To make your experience on board even more enjoyable and comfortable, each area is equipped with an entertainment and home automation system , which you can control easily from your smartphone or the navigation panel thanks to the Garmin glass cockpit, providing easy access to all systems.

Insulation and sound damping systems have been implemented in all areas of the yacht, with special attention to the machine room. This space has been designed with meticulous attention to detail, including design choices that facilitate access, mobility, maintenance activities and especially safety. The layout and choices of materials have also been carefully determined, prioritising stainless steel and aluminium and fibreglass fuel reserve tanks to ensure no leakage and infiltration can occur.

The machine room houses three straight six-cylinder Volvo Penta D13 each of which can reach 1000 HP when necessary. Along with IPS3 pods, these create a compact, trustworthy and manageable solution, ideal for a yacht of this size.

The machine room also houses two generators: a solution implemented to increase efficiency, reduce fuel consumption as well as the likelihood of breaking down.

All the systems on board, including the fire-prevention system, represent the state-of-the-art in the nautical industry’s technology and are designed and installed in a way that facilitates their maintenance.

The Humphree system is another unrivalled design, guaranteeing stability and ideal configuration while sailing and in port, comprising stabilising carbon fins, an interceptor blade and an electronic control unit for immediate and effective configuration corrections.

"Virtually fault free, eerily quiet, exceptionally engineered and boasting amazing attention to detail, the Fleming 75 is quite clearly the product of an obsessive design team."

- Motorboat & Yachting

Building on the success of the well-established Fleming 55, Fleming Yachts introduced the magnificent Fleming 75 in 2000. Ten years later the Fleming 75 was redesigned with a longer hull, and longer keel to become the new Fleming 78. The added waterline length and reduced fuel consumption and increases range by 500 NM. The yacht has the same elegant but no-nonsense design philosophy as her smaller sisters, but her larger size permits her to travel further and provide her guests and crew with even more luxurious accommodations. She has three staterooms all en-suite with a separate crews quarters aft. Standard power is twin MAN V12-1550hp engines, and MAN V8-1000hp, & MAN i6-800hp engines are optional. She has a range of 2,000 nautical miles at 10 knots and, can achieve speeds in excess of 20 knots. She is equipped as standard with Aquadrive vibration isolation systems. She has twin 29KW Onan generators, centralized hydraulic system driving American Bowthruster stabilizers, bow thruster, stern thruster, and twin Maxwell windlasses. A custom central monitoring system with three 15" color touchscreens displays all onboard systems, including tank levels, bilge & fire alarms as well as a fully controllable CCTV system.

This 90 ton yacht, like all Fleming's has been built to European CE Category "A" Standards, and she presents the ultimate balance of rugged construction, engineering excellence and artful elegance. Fleming Yachts are the "Ultimate Cruising Yacht," and the Fleming 78 is the ultimate Fleming.

Also offered is the Fleming 78 Classic Edition which has become a popular alternative for owners wanting a different style of flybridge. The Fleming 78 Classic takes cues from her sibling, the F65, with a lower, sleeker profile due to a single-level flybridge. Additionally, the longer boat deck increases space for seating and a tender or watercraft. Read more about the Fleming 78 Classic here .

Overview Continued...

Safety and convenience were given top priority in the design of all deck areas. All hardware was selected for durability and functionality and much of it, such as the stainless steel cleats and roller-chocks, was designed and custom made specifically for the vessel.

The foredeck platform has been set up for twin Maxwell hydraulic anchor windlasses. These have plug-in remote controls for reliability and safety, as well as controls at both the pilothouse and flybridge helm stations. The anchor platform is designed to accomodate two 176 Lbs (80Kg) Ultra anchors, and the chain locker holds two 400ft (121m) lengths of 1/2" (13mm) Grade-60 stainless steel chain.

Solid stainless steel fairleads are bolted through the bulwarks to allow the capstans to be used for warping. Storage lockers, either side of the anchor platform, house twin shorepower inlets as well as salt and fresh water  bibs.

The stainless steel oval-section handrail has been brought inboard for security. Additional stainless steel handrails are provided on the top of the non-skid cabin trunk for the convenience of children as well as providing tie-down points for optional cushions.

The forepeak is accessed through a deck hatch immediately aft of the windlasses and is separated from the rest of the boat by a watertight, collision bulkhead. It is divided into two chain lockers each with its own bitter end fitting. There is ample room for stowage of lines, and the forepeak drains directly overboard.

The Portuguese bridge deck provides protection for the pilothouse in the unlikely event that green water should come aboard. Solid doors, assisted by gas springs, give access to the forward deck to port and starboard. Lockers within the Portuguese bridge provide storage for fenders and lines. A handrail runs around the front and sides of the pilothouse with sliding doors on either side. Forward-facing windows have 10mm thick tempered glass. Wipers are heavy duty with an integral wash system. Teak laid decks are standard aft of the Portuguese Bridge.

Wide, well-protected side decks run down both sides of the boat with sturdy stainless steel handrails. Fuel fills with unique covers and anti-burp design are concealed within the steps leading down from the bridge deck. Bulwarks have inward-opening doors. Spring line cleats are recessed either side of roller chocks for spring lines.

The spacious aft deck is surrounded by a wide teak caprail and fiberglass skirt concealing engine room air intakes and mood lighting. Warping winches to port and stbd eliminate the labor of adjusting mooring lines. The inward-opening transom door, pivoting smoothly on a stainless steel tube-hinge of proprietary Fleming design, gives access to a 48" deep swim step with nonskid surface. (Teak decking is optional). Sturdy stainless steel handrails extend across the width of the transom. Cablemaster inlets are recessed behind the transom door. Shower fittings are located inside the aft end of the cockpit and are usable from the swim step.

The manual pull for the engine-room fire system and remote fuel shut-off valves are concealed behind the door on the aft face of the California deck. A large powered centerline hatch provides access into the lazarette. A teak-dressed step across the aft face of the California deck provides seating and a place to put equipment for activities such as scuba diving. Offered as an option is a retractable engine/thruster control station which folds away into the aft face of California deck structure.

The California Deck features a fixed settee around a teak-topped table. To port is a serving area with a stainless rail. There is overhead lighting as well as courtesy lights and custom lights on the aft face of the deckhouse. Access to the boat deck is provided by a curved ladder with radiused teak treads and oval section stainless tubes.

Flying Bridge

The flying bridge area is divided into two levels and has three distinct functional areas. The upper level is effectively an open-air pilothouse which features a helm station with full engine and thruster controls, instrumentation and a unique electronics console which retracts into the flybridge structure when not in use. There is a Stidd helmseat behind the stainless steel destroyer-type wheel and Stidd bench seats on either side of it. An aft-facing L-settee area includes a table and space to stbd for a bench-type freezer. A venturi shield with an integral stainless steel handrail curves around the front and side of the upper bridge to the radar arch.

The forward portion of the lower level is primarily for entertainment and is equipped with seating for a dozen people around a large table. Forward is a fridge and icemaker plus barbecue and sink beneath a folding lid. There is concealed lighting in the toe-space beneath the settees. A large watertight door provides direct access into the pilot house. A larger gas grill and top-opening freezer are offered as options in lieu of a port settee on the lower level.

Aft of the seating area is the boat deck equipped with a 12-foot, 1,500 lb. (680kg) capacity davit, which has its own hydraulic power unit enabling power slewing rotation luffing and a linear hoisting winch (using a linear winch in which the cable is not wrapped around a drum). The boat deck will accept tenders up to 17-feet mounted fore and aft. Also on the boat deck is a lift-up hatch providing access to the California deck and cockpit. An AC outlet is provided for plugging in a battery charger for the tender.

Available as options are hardtops for the upper bridge and for covering the seating area on the lower level. Also available as options are a second control station at the aft end of the boat deck and, separately, an airfoil-section yacht mast for mounting on top of the arch.

Salon, Galley & Dinette

With a combined area of 350 sq ft. these three spaces flow together to form a luxurious yet functional area made even larger by the extension of the salon onto the California Deck through the aft doors. Teak and holly soles are standard throughout as are wood mini-blinds recessed into the window frames.

The salon can be customized to suit owners requirements. The standard salon layout includes an entertainment center with cabinets and bookshelves along the stbd side, and TV cabinet in the starboard aft corner with a powered TV Lift. To port is an L-settee with Fleming oval teak coffee table with storage locker. Aft to port is a bar cabinet with granite counter top, sink, combo fridge/icemaker, and bottle storage.

Opposite the galley the dinette area comes standard with a curved banquette, oval dining table, storage cabinets with glass doors at the forward bulkhead with a granite top. Designer LED lighting is installed over the table and has a dimmer control.

The galley features an 18-foot linear length of granite counter with an undermount stainless steel double sink, overhead lockers, ample drawers and storage, pull-out pot locker forward of the cooktop and includes the following quality appliances, Sub Zero fridge with freezer drawers, Miele oven, Miele  dishwasher, convection microwave, waste disposer, Miele induction cooktop with custom stainless steel potholders, Instahot for dispensing filtered hot and cold water, swivel faucet with pull-out nozzle.

Accommodations

The wide beam of the Fleming 78 provides exceptionally spacious accommodations featuring teak and holly soles throughout and bulkheads faced with teak and synthetic soft leather paneling and headliners. The accommodations are reached from the pilothouse via stairs, which widen and flatten out as they descend into the forward lobby. Each tread is illuminated with concealed rope lights for discreet evening illumination. An oval section stainless steel handrail follows the curve of the stairwell, which also features a mirrored alcove with a granite shelf for owner's art work.

Each of the staterooms open off the forward lobby, which has a custom overhead light and a vertical stainless handgrip. A gas-spring assisted hatch leads to the machinery space below the sole. The washer and drier are concealed behind a teak-faced door.

The owner's stateroom features a kingsize bed with mattress, which lifts hydraulically for easy access to a large storage area under it. A curved bureau with mirrors are on either side of the bed. Teak cove moldings along both sides of the stateroom and a curved soffit over the bed contain concealed lighting. There is a walk-in closet with louvered double doors and portlight, a desk with ample drawers and a space designated for a TV. Large stainless steel, CE-approved portlights are featured in the stateroom and head.

The owner's head features a shower stall or optional tub with a thermostatically controlled mixer valve in a fiberglass-lined enclosure. It is divided from the head by stainless steel and glass doors. A ceramic basin is set in a granite or marble-topped counter with designer faucets.

The port guest cabin is available with either twins or a double berth with an optional upper slide-out berth. The fiberglass-lined shower is divided from the head by a stainless steel and glass door, and the shower faucet is thermostatically controlled. A ceramic basin is set in a granite or marble-topped counter with designer faucets. CE-approved portlights are used in the stateroom and head.

A VIP guest cabin forward features a tapered Queen berth with mattress, and has a hydraulically powered lift for easy access to storage underneath. The forward cabin is also available with a V-Berth layout. A CE-approved skylight and escape hatch includes a remote controlled roller-type insect and blackout screen. There are hanging lockers to port and starboard with louvered doors and drawers underneath. A fiberglass-lined shower stall is divided from the head by a curved stainless steel and glass door. The shower faucet is thermostatically controlled. A ceramic basin is set in a granite or marble-topped counter with designer faucets. CE-approved portlights are used in the stateroom and head.

Machinery Space

Unique to the Fleming 78 is an extensive machinery space located under the forward accommodations, it is very well illuminated with LED lighting. The cabin sole is double thickness and filled with lead/foam sound insulation to isolate the accommodations from this area, which is 29-feet long and is accessed through a hatch in the forward lobby. Installed in the machinery space are the pumps, water heaters, black and grey water tanks and air-conditioning units. This functional area frees up space in the engine room and keeps wiring and piping runs to a minimum. It also allows easy access to key components and makes it possible to access plumbing for toilets and showers from underneath.

The machinery space is also home to the 1,200 A/H AGM house battery bank. Also in this area are the two Outback 3,500 watt inverters, the 36Kw ASEA freuqnecy converter and all the switchgear associated with the electrical systems. The machinery space has its own ventilation blower ducted to an outlet on deck. It is protected by an automatic fire suppression system. The bow thruster motor and associated hydraulic valves are also readily accessible. Despite all this equipment there remains ample storage space for supplies for long range cruising.

Engine Room

The 22-foot long, full height engine room in the Fleming 78 is spacious, brightly lit and laid out with easy access to all equipment. There are even lights illuminating the drip pans under the engines. Stainless steel overhead handrails run the full length of the engine room. The overhead is up to 8" thick, filled with sound insulation. A workbench with drawers, and stainless work surface are standard. Floorboards are dressed with checkerplate-patterned Lonseal for appearance and sound attenuation. The engine room is lined with a reflective alloy pegboard for easy maintenance. The access door is an internally insulated, submarine type with gasket, double latch and inspection window.

The two main fuel tanks divide the engine room from the accommodations and total 2,500 US gals (9,463 liters). Two auxiliary wing tanks bring the total fuel capacity up to 3,000 US gals (11,356 liters). The fuel tanks are located on the longitudinal center of gravity so the trim of the Fleming does not change as fuel is consumed. Sight gages show the height of the fuel in every tank and pressure sensors display the contents, in gallons, liters and percentage, on the FFM monitoring system in the pilothouse. Twin Racor filters with vacuum gages, change-over valves and stainless steel drip trays are standard as is a fuel transfer pump, with filter and counter, which can be used to transfer fuel between tanks. Fuel selector panels provide easy selection for supply and return to and from main engines and generators. Storage bins for spares are provided above the side tanks.

Intake air is drawn in from around the cockpit rather than outside the hull where it is laden with salt. Automatic baffles close off the ventilation ducts at the aft end of the engine room. The automatic fire system also has a manual pull operated from the aft deck.

Naturally the main engines are the most prominent items of equipment in the engine room. Standard engines are MAN V12-1550 HP, with optional MAN V8-1200, MAN V8-1000 and MAN i6-800 hp. There is good access around both sizes of engines and both are fitted with additional 200 amp hevy duty brushless alternators controlled by an external regulator. Oversize raw water intake ball valves and sea strainers are conveniently placed.

Huge Aquadrives (the largest in the range) isolate the engines from the shafts and permit the use of soft engine mounts, matched to the vibration characteristics of the engine, which reduce noise and vibration transmitted to the hull. The shaft couplings have protective covers for safety. There is easy access to the shaft logs, which are bronze with a dripless packing.

Standard generators are two 29 KW Onan eQD in sound shields. Generator exhausts pass through waterdrop mufflers to reduce exhaust noise to a whisper. Special attention has also been paid to the main engine exhaust system, which has been designed to keep the boat as quiet and free from vibration as possible.

Variable displacement hydraulic pumps on both engines power the ABT centralized hydraulic system, thus maintaining stabilizing and bow & stern thruster operations even when running on one engine. Stabilizer actuators are readily accessible forward of the wing tanks, and the hydraulic reservoir is easy to reach on the aft bulkhead. A hydraulically driven Pacer emergency bilge pump is optional.

95 US gal (359 liter) oil tanks to port and stbd provide storage of clean and dirty lube oil. Tanks are connected to two oil change systems. A 16,000 BTU engine room air-conditioning system is standard equipment.

A large hydraulically operated centerline hatch provides convenient access into the lazarette, which contains the water tanks, and Cablemasters. All equipment is located for easy access, leaving ample space for storage.

The spacious Fleming 78 pilothouse has the feel of a bridge of a much larger vessel and is the nerve and social center of the boat. Gently curving stairs lead down to the accommodations and short companionways lead up to the flybridge and down to the salon. Sliding doors on either side give access to port and starboard bridge decks. Throughout there are ample handrails for security.

An L-shaped settee, raised up for enhanced visibility, is set around a teak table with storage built into the leg. Wood window blinds slot into retainers. An optional, hydraulically operated pilot-berth can be recessed into the aft bulkhead. To port is a chart table and flexible chart light. Of course, the main function of the pilothouse is to provide a dedicated area for piloting free from distractions. The Fleming 78 has achieved this with style and luxury. There is space for a full range of electronics in full-width upper and lower consoles. Engine instrumentation and controls as well as the bow & stern thruster joysticks are grouped at the helm station. One Stidd helmseat is standard but there is space for two additional chairs. There are separate swing-out, back-lit switch panels.

Adjacent to the pilothouse is a day head with toilet and ceramic basin set in granite or marble countertop with mirror and lockers. There is an opening portlight a blower for ventilation, and airconditioning inlet.

Aft Lobby and Crew Quarters

Access to the crew's quarters and the engine room are from the port side deck, via an access door and stairs, which lead down to the aft lobby. This location allows the crew to come and go from their quarters, and the engine room, without disturbing the guests enjoying the amenities of the California deck.

The aft lobby opens into the crew head, the crew cabin and the engine-room. This allows the crew head to be accessed without having to enter the crew cabin. The crew cabin has two hanging lockers, one 45" wide berth and a second 36" wide berth, ample drawer space and additional overhead storage. There is also a mirror, desk with escape hatch over and two CE-approved portlights. The crew head has a washbasin, shower and  toilet. A 15" color touchscreen connected to the FFM monitoring system is included as standard in the crew cabin. This ensures that the crew are aware of any alarms and can monitor the yachts systems remotely. The internally insulated submarine-type door to the engine-room has a glass inspection port. There is also an option for two seperate crew cabins.

Sirena 78 Yacht

Sirena will be presenting its newest fleet member at Cannes Yachting Festival later this year, but the Turkish yard just couldn’t wait to show it off.

Touted as “the yacht that can do it all,” the new Sirena 78 is designed for long-range voyages and sports an array of glitzy features to keep seafarers in the lap of luxury. Spanning 78 feet, the model falls right in the middle of Sirena’s lineup in terms of size. She’s nice and compact yet offers what the yard describes as a “class-leading volume.”

Sirena says it’s the customizability that really sets this yacht apart from her competition, though. There is an array of different interior and exterior layout options to appeal to all manner of seafarers. The flybridge, for instance, can be either open (above), semi-enclosed or fully enclosed depending on the level of protection desired. You can also opt for two main saloons if you’d like more space for indoor entertaining.

What’s more, the yacht will be equipped with “loose” pieces of furniture, such as settees and ottomans, which can be positioned exactly to one’s liking. In this way, the living quarters can be even more tailored to your tastes. As the yard puts it, “Sirena 78 could look like a different boat within the space of a single day.”

The yacht’s exterior, which was penned by Frers Naval Architecture and Engineering, showcases a number of innovative design solutions. The helm station, for example, has been removed from the main deck to create more space for socializing. The foredeck, meanwhile, sports one massive sun pad flanked by tables and L-shaped settees, which means the area can be used for either sunning or alfresco dining.

The interiors with the “Elegance” theme.

The interiors, designed by Cor d. Rover, center around a massive galley on the main deck. Down below, there is a full-beam owner’s cabin amidship with a private bath and dressing area. There’s also a VIP with an ensuite, two guest cabins and one crew cabin. The interior will be available in a number of different themes, with “Elegance” pictured here.

As to be expected, you can pick the propulsion system, too. The standard twin MAN V-12 engines give the vessel a top speed of 23.7 knots, a cruising speed of 16 knots and a range of approximately 1,1500 when traveling at 10 knots in “economy cruising mode.”

Speaking of cruising, Sirena 78 will make her IRL debut at Cannes this September.

Blog | Yachts to Consider Between 70 to 80 ft.

Arm yourself with actionable sales intelligence in the motoryacht arena.

The 70-80 foot market continues to be a strong market with several recent sales. Here’s a breakdown of a few of the top yachts to consider between 70 and 80 feet in length that are attracting buyers to the table.

Ocean Alexander Galley

Ocean Alexander 78 Yacht

The 2012 Ocean Alexander 78 ALEXANDRA represents one of the finest motor yachts in her class with less than 400 original hours, Zero Speed Trac stabilizers finished off with a stunning Destry Darr Interior. Powered by twin Caterpillar C18 ACERT engines (Approx. 397 hrs), she carries a three-stateroom layout plus crew quarters, making for an ideal cruising yacht, whether for an owner operator or crewed yacht. The previous owners transitioned from a a 62’ Ocean Alexander, falling in love with the spacious layout in the bigger 78′ model that could accommodate cruising requirements in Southern waters like Florida and on Lake Michigan in Chicago. 2008 75′ Azimut Yacht

The 74-78 range is a strong market with continued demand and the Azimut 75 is a boat worth considering whether you’re moving up into a larger yacht or just getting started in the boating world. Although a different breed than the Ocean Alexander showing modern lines and euro interior she’s a sporty yacht that’s perfect for cruising up the coast or a trip to the Bahamas. This particular Azimut 75 is a great example of a well maintained boat cared for by professionals. A crew of two have been aboard full time since first delivery and it shows. Dark stained wood and cream leather highlight the modern and spacious interior. She’s an example of a yacht that is just as stylish in Monaco as it is in Miami. Lazzara 75 LSX Sport Yacht

One of five 75 Lazzaras currently on the market, this 2007 model is the nicest available. New paint in 2010 and fresh varnish on her aft cap rails really set her apart from her competition. The galley down arrangement is very unique in that it gets natural light from the windshield. Her quad Volvo IPS 600s power this Lazzara 75 to 27 knot cruise speed. Tip: We recently listed a 116′ Lazzara for sale that will appeal to buyers who wish to move up to higher length ranges in the future. In 2014, the owners spent over $250,000 to keep her in ‘mint’ condition. _________________________________________________________________________________ More research: Review Similar Yachts | Lazarra Reviews & Articles

78 Ocean Alexander Yacht Walkthrough [Boat Review + Video]

Take an extensive tour of the 78′ ocean alexander [rhythm n’ blues] in fort lauderdale, fl with kurt bosshardt..

This article is a transcription of the 78′ Ocean Alexander video from Denison’s Youtube Channel . Tune in daily to discover the latest yacht video walkthroughs from the world’s largest yacht video collection. Watch the full video below:

Good morning from Vero Beach, Florida. I’m Ryan Alexander and I’m Kurt Bosshardt from Denison Yachting. Today, we get the chance to walk you through a 78-foot Ocean Alexander goes by the name of RHYTHM N’ BLUES .

Vero Beach is about 2-and-a-half hours north of Fort Lauderdale. I took the drive this morning and you flew. So Kurt, as a pilot has his own plane. What time do you leave this morning? About 6:15, landed about 7 o’clock. The great thing about flying as we look down at the I-95 and turnpike rush hour traffic thinking oh my goodness, we’re glad not to be stuck in that traffic.

78 feet yacht

The yacht is a 78-foot yacht with a 3 cabin layout below. Stepping down onto this landing, you really start to get a feel for what it would be like to live aboard this yacht . From the enormous head room to the voluminous cabins, we have a fantastic 3 cabin layout. A VIP forward, a twin to port and a full beam master amidships. It is also the original interior which is quite classy but the owner’s done recent upgrades to lighten the colors.

But most importantly about this boat is that the owner highly customized it with state of the art electronics and a really neat helm station extension which is fully air conditioned and really serves as a second seating area, almost like a sky lounge. This yacht would be ideal for a family coming out of sailing or trawlering or an owner-operator that would like to actually have his hand at the controls. It’s also ideal for a crew of 2 discrete in the aft section of the boat and away from the owner’s area. But it’s quite comfortable for 2 people.

As we’ll see later on in today’s walkthrough, we’re going to step down into the engine room. It’s immaculate down there. It’s great considering how many hours, how many long trips this boat has done but there’s a lot of attention to detail in keeping it clean and serviced. Sure, it’s a real testament to how well the yacht’s been maintained.

With all of that out of the way, we’re going to get today’s walkthrough kicked off and we’re going to start up on the top deck where we have a 2000 pound davit that can lift your tender on and off the boat. Again something that makes this perfect for that island hopping.

78 feet yacht

The tender usually stored up in this area is a Zodiac 420 with a 60 horsepower Yamaha outboard. A useful feature in the area is a freshwater hookup for washing down the tender after you pull it out of the water. When this deck space is empty, it’s ideal for setting out deck furniture and taking in the surrounding view. And when the sun gets to be too much, you can quickly deploy a shade sail that covers the area.

Forward, of the boat deck through these two glass sliding doors is everyone’s favorite spot on this Ocean Alexander 78 . It’s a completely custom feature. It’s a huge room with great visibility all this glass. The immediate question that came to my mind is boy it must get really hot here in the summer. But the answer that question is no because we have 38000 BTU air conditioning and keep this place really really pleasant.

When you see how much functionality there is throughout the enclosed bridge, it gives you a sense of scale to this climate controlled space. Take for example this oversized dinette on the starboard side. The seating is a molded in U-shaped settee wrapping around a varnished teak tabletop with windows surrounding you on all sides. From here you also have a view of the TV that drops down from the ceiling whenever you need it.

A great upgrade in this area is the sea deck padding underfoot which is installed on top of a non-skid fiberglass deck. Over on the port side of the enclosure is a custom granite topped wet bar. There are 5 stainless bar stools mounted along the outside where a raised bar top is also seen. On the back side of the bar is storage and the appliances that your crew needs to attend to guests. These include a sink and under counter refrigeration.

78 feet yacht

A very unique feature behind this wet bar is this wooden wine box I call it which was handcrafted out of zapelli by the captain of this yacht. The thing I like about this is that it harkens back to the age of yachting, turn of the century in this very contemporary setting kind of an old rustic feel.

Walking forward in this room we get to the main helm station and as you can see again there’s fantastic visibility all around which again is a custom feature of this yacht. This is one of three steering stations that we have on the yacht with state of the art electronics.

The first thing that jumps out to you which is extremely impressive is this integrated electronic system. They’re tied together by three 17-inch touch screen hatland screens, directly below the screens on the port side a few other instruments of note the MTU engine monitors, the furuno control panels and a FLIR night vision camera. And on the other side of the compass, we have the starboard engine monitoring system, digital throttle controls and the ZF skyhook system.

And finally all the way over to right we have the bow and stern thrusters. These are also found on both port and starboard control stations. So with this suite of instruments as you can imagine we have everything we would need to control this yacht, in a very comfortable environment.

Tied into the helm station are the eyes and ears of the vessel which are mounted onto the hard top directly above the helm. It’s here that we find an M7 VSAT offering satellite internet and an HD7 track vision TV dome as well as FLIR night vision camera.

Now let’s take a quick look at the bow which is overbuilt given the size of the boat. Side decks running up both port and starboard are the primary means of access to the bow with side deck access doors as well found just forward of midships. Once you’re up here, you can lay out in the sun on one of two adjustable sunpads with ratcheting backs. These are elevated from the rest of the main deck on the raised portion of the bow. Also found in the area is a hatch that opens into the VIP cabin below. All of the way forward up here is the ground tackle. This ready for anything setup is comprised of dual Maxwell 4000 windlasses operating two anchors.

78 feet yacht

In addition to her twin anchors, the other feature worth pointing out is her 25 horsepower key power hydraulic bow thruster. This is just one of two thrusters that helps this yacht navigate laterally. The other is found at the opposite end of the boat with a matching 25 horsepower stern thruster. Here at the stern is also where we have a fixed swim platform with stairs port and starboard. This area is finished with teak and heavy duty polished hardware and stanchions. There are shore power receptacles port and starboard with 115 foot cable masters found in the lazarette just forward. This lazarette is important in that it offers you great access to the running gear as well as impressive storage.

78 feet yacht

Immediately forward of this is the area that the crew calls home. One of the great things I like about this 3 cabin layout is if you’re an owner operator, you can use this as a fourth cabin for kids. Not only do you have the bunks and plenty of storage but there’s a separate ensuite head and shower to port. Outside the ensuite I want to point out a few features which make this yacht very comfortable for crew, we’ve got a little kitchenette area with a microwave, a refrigerator down below and then of course an access inside upstairs in case of bad weather.

The final point of access down here is the access to the engine room. As we mentioned earlier in today’s walkthrough, this engine room is meticulously maintained. Not only the engines are clean but underfoot bright and shiny, the stairs, the exhaust risers everything is clean giving her 3000 hours of service.

78 feet yacht

This 78 is equipped with upgraded MTU 2000 1600 horsepower engines. Outboard of the engines is a Kohler 32kw genset which work together to power the house. Other important items in here are the fireboy fire suppression system, key power hydraulic stabilizers and AC compressors.

From here, let’s jump up to the aft deck. Finished with teak and polished stainless, this area stands out as the perfect spot to welcome guests on board. You can hand them a cold drink from the wet bar over on the starboard side and then grab a seat on the dinette running along the transom. The tabletop is varnished teak and the bar top features an upgraded granite with an additional convenient upgrade found with this fresh water connection on the front side of the bar.

Both the seating and the wet bar are protected by a molded hardtop. Integrated into this is dimmable led lighting and a multi-zone sound system as well as a camera overlooking the swim platform. I’ve already mentioned that there are side decks but there are also other points of access back here like port and starboard boarding doors for dock side boarding. Other nice features in the area are the molded in stairs leading up to the tender deck, a convenient engine room access door to port and aft helm stations. These offer you thruster and joystick control over the whole steering system.

From here we’re next going to step inside through a pair of automatic doors and enter the salon. This is the highest END finish that you’ll find on any OA 78. Satin varnished woodwork is made up of sapele and elegant burled veneers. Large windows surround the space with the entry doors serving as floor-to-ceiling windows when closed.

78 feet yacht

To starboard is an L-shaped sofa that lets you take in the entire view. In the starboard aft corner is a minimal but effective wet bar and a polished stainless sink. This area serves perfectly as storage for your stemware and bottles. Found in the cabinets on the port side is the heart of the local AV system as well as a pair of wine coolers built in below the windows.

The final thing to point out in the area is the dayhead located to port. This head is located in the hallway that you pass through on your way into the dynamic country kitchen galley. This is the preferred layout for anyone looking to merge the feeling of being in a family environment with your time at sea. I really like to point out this huge area here, one of the benefits of having a single helm station upstairs is that you pick up this settee area for dining and you have this really nice expansive room as an eat-in kitchen.

78 feet yacht

When it comes to the cooking experience, this 78 absolutely has you covered. Equipped with a full array of Genair appliances, there’s a great balance between equipment and storage which is found all over the place. Some of what we find in here includes a 36 inch French door refrigerator, a 30 inch the over-the-range microwave, a 30-inch electric cooktop that’s directly above a 27-inch electric oven. Clean up takes place just forward of this where we see the sink. There’s also a trash compactor and a pair of stacked dishwashers in the area.

Kurt already pointed out the seating area forward in here which is just below a wrapping windshield. From this seat you can appreciate just how much light floods the galley in the middle of the day. To port and starboard, we find water tight side deck access doors which lend themselves well to a crew of two. The port side door is right next to an integrated wooden staircase connecting the upper and main deck.

Over here on the starboard side are stairs leading down to the guest accommodations. Stepping down onto this landing, you really start to get a feel for what it would be like to live aboard this yacht. From the enormous head room to the voluminous cabins, we have a fantastic three cabin layout, a VIP forward, a twin to port and a full beam master amidships.

Let’s save the best for last and start forward down here in the bow VIP. Complete with an aft-facing queen berth and loads of storage, the bow VIP is equipped to sleep two with room to spare. Wardrobe storage is in cedar lined hanging lockers with automatic lighting. And at the foot of the bed we see the cabin’s TV as well as the entrance into a private head and shower.

78 feet yacht

Heading aft from the forward stateroom, we next have the port side twin cabin. There’s storage and hanging lockers at the foot of the bed with a dressing mirror inside. There’s also a window at eye level letting in some natural light when the sun is out. And then forward in this cabin is the ensuite featuring a stone-topped vanity and a stall shower.

Stepping out of this cabin and heading aft brings us into the lower deck foyer once again. I want to point out that in this area, we have an optional second laundry center with the primary stacked washer and dryer aft in the crew space. There’s even a clever work surface that comes out of the wall just above.

Heading all of the way aft in the lower landing brings us into the owner’s suite. Of all the areas where you feel the benefit of this spacious 3-cabin layout, the owner’s stateroom makes it the most apparent. Spanning the entire 20-foot-1-inch beam of the boat, there’s a king-sized berth in the middle of the stateroom with plenty of open walkways around it.

78 feet yacht

On the port side is a built-in vanity with storage integrated all around. This is just a few feet away from a wall mounted 40 inch TV which is tied into an expansive AV package. Storage is the theme in here. As we look at the rest of the room where we see a pair of hanging lockers and a built-in bank head of drawers below this 78 stylish hull side windows.

The ensuite can be accessed from the port or starboard side of the stateroom and it’s in here that the owner selected his and hers vanities which are separated by a large glass enclosed shower.

Virtual Tour

BIG MAMA is a Riviera 78 (R78) motor yacht, the first R78 on the market. Synonymous with high performance and luxury on-water living — and coupled with the Luca Vallebone’s award-winning design sensibility — the R78 is an excellent opportunity to own a perfectly appointed Riviera without the wait.

Through electronic sliding glass doors is BIG MAMA’s galley and main salon. Well-appointed and with full-size fridges to both port and starboard, the open-plan space is designed for functional living and interactivity. Both spaces enjoy large windows — bigger than in older Riviera models — and allow unobstructed views. The main saloon is located forward; to starboard is a custom sofa with an ottoman and to port, a chaise longue. A large rug ties everything together. A 65” television is hidden in the ceiling and is also hooked up to the Raymarine navigation equipment — charts and cruising information can be shown to guests at the touch of a button. Completing the space is a fully equipped wet bar and remote-controlled electronic shades.

Stairs from the main deck lead to BIG MAMA’s luxury cabins, where she can accommodate up to seven guests across four suites. Her full-beam master suite features a king-sized bed, black-out blinds, wireless charging stations and a hidden refrigerated drawer bedside. Large hull windows to both port and starboard bring the outside in — as well as a good cross breeze when needed. A cedar-lined walk-in closet provides ample storage and an en-suite is complete with his-and-hers sinks and a rain shower. Each of her guest cabins also enjoys en-suites and cedar-lined storage, with a VIP forward featuring a double berth and a portside guest cabin with two side-by-side single berths. A fourth cabin to starboard has been converted to a private office, with a Pullman berth hidden in the aft bulkhead.

BIG MAMA’s exterior spaces offer plenty of opportunity for sunbathing and socializing. Her aft deck, accessible via steps to both port and starboard, has an alfresco dining area with a large table. It is enclosable via a weather canvas, allowing it to become an extension of the saloon. Above, her extended aft flybridge differs from other models in the series with a custom sunbathing deck boasting a large sunpad with a wetbar. The entire space is semi-shaded with a Bimini and hardtop, allowing for the ultimate views with cruising. Forward, the foredeck offers plenty of plush seating; while at anchor, a full sun awning can be raised. Her teak-laid swim platform aft provides easy access to the water and can carry easily her four-meter BRIG Eagle RIB with a Honda 60HP outboard engine.

For those seeking unparalleled luxury, customization and top-tier performance, BIG MAMA is the ultimate choice. With warranties, impeccable maintenance and unique features, she's a remarkable opportunity to own a yacht that stands out in style and sophistication.

ALVA Yachts introduces new 78-foot solar electric catamaran with ‘transatlantic range’

Avatar for Scooter Doll

Luxury electric boatbuilder ALVA Yachts is back with its latest solar electric catamaran. The upcoming OCEAN ECO 78 will arrive as a mid-size marine vessel in ALVA’s current lineup and comes equipped with the solar and electric propulsion technology to reach a top speed of 14-15 knots (16-17 mph) at sea, plus plenty of battery capacity to go far – all backed by solar panels on its roof.

ALVA Yachts is a German company founded in 2020 by Mathias May and Holger Henn, evolving out of PICA yachts, which was originally founded back in 2013. In that time, ALVA’s predecessor launched over forty 20-30 foot sailing and electric powerboats.

As the brand looks to create the next generation of electric yachts, it remains quite aware of the issues facing marine electrification as well as its own hurdles in developing its zero emission technologies. Its current solution is a growing lineup of solar electric catamarans that are as luxurious as they are sustainable.

The past three years, ALVA Yachts has introduced a 50-foot cruiser, two electric sailboats in lengths of 72- and 82-feet, plus 60- and 90-foot all-electric yachts, including the OCEAN ECO 60, which debuted in 2022 and is now in production.

Today ALVA Yachts has introduced a new 78-foot solar electric catamaran that will fit nicely between the OCEAN ECO 60 and OCEAN ECO 90 .

ALVA Yachts ‘launches’ its latest solar electric boat

The sustainable boatbuilder unveiled the OCEAN ECO 78 in a press release today – a multihull yachts that measures in at 23.7 meters, features a fully-electric drive system, and offers the ability to gain additional power from the Sun, even while navigating the sea.

The fully-electric version of the OCEAN ECO 78 is propelled by two 217 kW electric motors that are powered by massive battery capacity ranging between 280-490 kWh. The large roof of integrated solar panels allows for 26 kilowatt-peak (kWp), which ALVA Yachts states is best in class compared to the 78’s competitors.

By combining large battery capacity and solar integration, ALVA Yachts states the upcoming OCEAN ECO 78 will offer transatlantic range and “virtually unlimited autonomy” with the help of the Sun. From bow to stern, the solar electric catamaran is strengthened by 12-meter beams, another best in class design according to its makers. ALVA’s head of design Milan Henn spoke to the boatbuilder’s latest entry in responsible yachting:

The new OCEAN ECO 78 was created as the perfect addition to our existing range, and sits between the OCEAN ECO 60 and 90 models providing owners with a generous increase in size from the 60 but removing the need for crew on the 90. This new model offers everything the 60 does but on a larger scale.

Other features include twin bathing platforms for easy access to the water, a lower deck with seating for eight, an enclosed saloon, and galley complete with a full size fridge/freezer and island bar with stools. Moving to starboard, OCEAN ECO 78 owners can entertain at a large dining table for eight or at it’s L-shaped obervation area near the helm.

Accommodations include a master suite with a walk in wardrobe, a double guest cabin with ensuite, plus further guest spaces to the portside hull, including double and twin rooms with showers. Like all ALVA Yachts, customers can choose from one of five moods for their interior, including Mountain, Forest, Desert, Dune and Sea. We are awaiting additional details such as the yacht’s estimated range, pricing, and production timeline, but when the OCEAN ECO 78 does arrive, it looks to be another impressive entry in solar electric catamarans. Per ALVA Yachts:

ALVA Yachts is bringing yachting into a new era with electrified solar catamarans and sailing yachts that combine self-sufficient, long-range cruising capabilities and class-leading design, delivering the best boats for forward-thinking explorers.
